@J Street Garage - thank you! I really appreciate the kind words! Both big and little bike season just finished and I'm already missing the track! I don't mind winter, but not riding certainly is a downfall. You should get out and do some track days! As you know, there's nothing like it.
It's so much fun! You should do it! It's the greatest thing ever!!! Lol. And I'm glad I saved it. I was moving pretty quick and that woulda sucked for sure!!
@@teegnar3173 where are you at? It's super dependent on where you live, but I'd venture to say that most places have some kind of on track opportunity. There's a Facebook called Grom Performance. There are a ton of guys that road race like I do. I will say, if you can find a kart track that will let you rip..... that's the JAM.
@@Peruqt69 no, not every August. This was a one-off thing that a few of us put on a few years ago. That said, both TMGP and the CMRA have grom classes and race ~1 time per month from February/March - November. It’s worth it if you’re reasonably close!
These things are pure fun to ride! Cool video mate Edit: I saw some superbike racing plastics for the groms but I think as more plastics you add as more can break in a crash 😬
Thank you!!! I have way more fun on this than I do my 300. Lol I've seen some of those superbike plastics. They are awesome!!!!! But yeah. That would get expensive.
@XMcBainXUSA I know the NEMRR operates road racing out of New Hampshire. Not sure what degree of mini racing they do though. There's a Facebook group called mini moto alliance. That'd be a good place to search!
It's a TON of fun! With the right suspension they're pretty stable. When you start battling back and forth they can get twitchy... especially when you're off line or trying to avoid hitting the rider in front of you 🤣
Craig is THICC and went 70 on his brand new grom! That's impressive!! 🤣🤣 Cmra rules allow for intake, tune, exhaust... just no internal work. Cams, pistons, etc. So it's more than doable for them to roll 70+ in draft. Now....... Josiah beating everyone by 10 seconds. That's gonna require some investigating 🤣
I think any of those would be a great option for a mini! I'm biased towards the grom, but that's because it's what I've got. If you have a mini race org I'd go with the bike that has the most entries/classes so that you can maximize how many races you can do on one bike. The grom market is out of control right now, so you might be able to get a better deal on a crf. That said, in TMGP where I race, the 150 would only qualify for a handful or classes... whereas the 125 (or the grom) would let you race just about all day. Hope that helps!
@@TonyGenerali thank you for your reply. That is extremely useful. I also have a ninja 300 that I wish to learn track racing in the future so really appreciate your channel
The engine internals of all the bikes in the video are stock, including mine. Most have exhausts, intakes, and some kind of ecu tune, but outside of that... they're stock. The race rules want the bikes to be same to keep the racing close. Leave it to rider skill, not bike speed! Thanks for taking the time to comment! Appreciate it!
“You’re just too tall”
Man, didn’t think I would here that one🤣
You said it yourself... youtube makes me taller!
But yeah. Not the answer I was expecting. Lol
Been binging your videos! Love the energy you put out plus the riding! Definitely making me miss track days!

@@TonyGenerali For sure! Im going to have to wash the dust off the ole' 300 race bike and get myself out to a track day soon!
That looks like such a great time
It was amazingly fun!!!
THAT WAS THE BEST VIDEO YOU MADE SO FAR!!!!!
You did exactly what you said you were gonna do.... And you took it by storm

That’s awesome. This happens every August in Texas? What part I ride a grom, looks super fun

You know Jt ran off track twice lol. That race must’ve been the most fun thing ever. It looked so fun
It was a BLAST! You and your dad need to get groms and join me and JT out there. Lol

Looks like there's a MiniGP org in New Jersey. Check out NJminigp.com
That looks like so much fun. I’m convinced now, I need a grom 😂 They look twichy in the corners. How do they handle?

What tires are you using?
In this race I was running the Dunlop tt93, but I prefer the PMT slicks.
Just got a nice modded grom. Now I wanna take it to a track. Lol
DO IT!!! It's a ton of fun! Just keep it on 2-wheels!
By "if I have to I'll do what's necessary" I ment I would stuff someone in the grass if they tried to pass me
Y’all are funny 😂😂
You just busted someone with that Speedo shot. A stock Grom will not do 70mph

I'm debating either a used Grom or used Cfr150/125 for minigp. Any tip on which to pick?

How the hell do you run off the track on a Grom?????
When I get on a mini my brain shuts down!! You should know this already! 🤣🤣
But in all seriousness. I have no clue!!
