- After 7 years of serving in the U.S. Navy, I am now contemplating if I should stay in the military or pursue my dream career and passion in the Film Industry. In this vlog, I talk about the journey I have been through serving in the military and my next goals and plans if I choose to end my contract with the U.S. Navy.

Ive only been in the navy for 2 years. Not sure if i wanna stay in. I always wanted to make scores for film. I play piano and guitar but my passion has been dying lately. I dont know if it work or what.
John Doe keep that faith in what you want to do. If you truly know in your heart that you want to make scores for film then keep that goal in mind. Around my 2nd and 3rd year in the Navy I started questioning myself also because I started to feel as if the Navy was the only thing I had to look forward to for the rest of my life.

I have 10 months left and I'm thinking about it but the job market kinda sucks ass right now. If they cross train me, I'll stay. Otherwise I guess I'll open a bar or something while going to school.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm in my car crying about how I want to get out but im scared about not getting hired or being alone. It's hard when you've never really had to make decisions for yourself, but I don't want to stay in just because it's safe.
DO IT!!! Best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Yes it’s a scary thought, and yes the military will make you believe there’s no way. Just have a plan and stick to your guns about executing your plans and everything will work out. Oh and make sure you get ALL of your medical records copied and file for your disability. Good luck! ✊🏾
I say stay in. The pros don't outweigh the cons but if you intend on staying in California, it's just too expensive here. I've got savings and everything but it's too much money for little things here. Memphis is another thing but if you want to be around your son's life then that is understandable. I would get a job that can get me by with rent and expenses and then rejoin when he's like 2. I understand being around for the milestones.

Right. Before getting out people in Washington wanted to scare you that it’s gonna be hard in the civilian world blah blah blah. We’re all humans. What ever path we choose, we will always have to work and pay bills
