JTsuits in terms of waking up late. What if you suffer from insomnia (chemical imbalance in brain that prevents you from or struggle to fall asleep) and you eventually become so exhausted that you can't wake up the next morning because of severe lack of sleep? Will your superiors be understanding that you have a legit condition and you have medication for it?

Missing ship's movement is another huge no-no. We pulled into St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands on Abe Lincoln. One of our guys missed the last liberty boat back to the ship. Amazingly he talked the local Coast Guard guys into running him out to the carrier in their RHIB which I thought was pretty brilliant. Our XO was waiting for him personally when he arrived at the ship. 6 months half pay, reduction, restriction, etc. They really don't like it when you miss ship's movement.
That first story is underrated. It’s important to know that your superiors will get your back especially in a situation that was handled right. (Multiple warnings before going to someone)
Fratenization! I was a yeoman and still got a page 13 for it, my first 6 months in, with a girl in my division. My family and i just laughed it off after I told them
A kid In A school got kicked out of the navy because he was always late. He was in my duty section. He would always make the muster last 30 minutes because he wouldn’t show up. Sometimes they would release us because before he showed up because he was so late. The navy is a one for all, all for one. You have to show up really late for a Chief to say just get out of here.

I have a very unique story. I was in the Navy 2 1/2 years (1990 1992) got sent to Captains mass twice in 3 months for stupid shit. reduced from E5 to E3 over the same period. During that time I was a mess and used LSD several times. during one of my restriction weeks, I decided I had enough and approached the Command DAPA with my issues and drug use. After that meeting and subsequent written confession, I was subjected to multiple drug tests, Lie detection via NIS ( I declined), coercion to make statements to the MA's and the Corpsmen, to which I respectfully remained silent. Four months went by since my confession to the command DAPA, and I finally was given my DD-214 that said "Type of discharge - Honorable. Narrative reason for discharge - Drug Abuse"
@Kenneth Henderson Smart move going to one of the few people who have the ear of the Captain and not get you into further trouble, as well as declining the lie detection test. I've never heard anyone getting out of the military with an Honorable due to drug use
Missing tools!!! OMG! I had that happen to me once. Luckily, I was not in charge of my shop just yet, my booze-loving PR1 was… That lady got reamed for it and so many other things afterwards. Sad story really…
Trouble can find you in the military easily... any foolish mistakes lol been there & done that lol... Keep up with your original intro "Wat up Fam" "Bran NUuuu Video"... 👍🏼
Excellent video, but you only scratched the surface! My scariest underway 1MC announcement was "all hands not on watch lay to the mess decks to witness punishment". The skipper masted our Command Master Chief in front of everyone! Very ugly...guilty on all counts! It was like the Caine Mutiny after that.
BIG fan of your channel!! All your videos prepare me for what's to come in the Navy. I leave in a month. Questions, the jobs that you can volunteer for in the ship, do you recommend and could you potentially get higher rank? Also any tips for me in boot camp?
I did a lot of pushups in boot saying what you said... If you're early you're on time If you're on time you're late If you're late you're forgotten. To this day (35 years old and 13 years since I wore the uniform) I still get anxious if Im not 15 minutes early somewhere. As for the smelly person in our division. Obviously against the rules but one "Steel Wool Shower" later and he didn't have that problem anymore.
I took an airplane into maintenance one time and when they broke open the wing they found a set of needle nose pliers 2 inches from the flap tracks that had been there so long they were rusted shut. We'd been flying that airplane around the middle of the ocean for years, if it had shifted an inch and jammed the flaps we'd have been superf*cked lol. That ATAF sh*t is for real.
Had a guy Martinez. Very thick Mexican accent. We went to Tijuana..... Shut up don't act like you never went. ( Your not supposed to go there). So we partied tried to come back show i.d. and he had his wallet stolen. Tried like hell to convince the border popo that he was with us. No dice. They called the base at 3 in the morning. He was secure so see ya bro. I'm not getting busted. And he got 45/ 45 and reduction. Never ratted us out though good sport.
I was in the Navy for four years in the 90's. I'm not sure about now, but then it could be quite political! For instance during my school after boot camp I was given orders to an Oceanographic Unit (ocean surveying, the NOAA does that now). The consensus is that they were good orders and a classmate of mine wanted them. At some point he got in cohorts with the instructor and they fabricated a story about me cursing out a higher ranking enlisted member on the base. Because I'm a pretty quiet person they thought I would just go along with that. So one day the instructor calls me back to his cubicle, with that student who wanted my orders sitting next to him, and asks me about said fabricated incident. Since I would've never done such a thing I said as much clearly. They hadn't expected me to defend myself, there was nothing they could do since their story was a lie, and so I kept my good orders and not a word was written about this in my record. That's what my own instructor had tried to do to me in the Navy. Also back then theft was rampant on some ships, again I wouldn't know what it's like now. Hopefully there's more camaraderie among shipmates at present, at that point it mostly seemed like a corporation to me.
I gunned decked ..over PMS on board ship, "oh chiefs at lunch, oh master chief is on leave wont be back tomorrow, oh AT1 is TDA " every single time.....lol....hahahahah
I believe that's called dishonorable discharge under general conditions you still get benefits and then after a while It just turns into an honorable discharge.
I've got a good friend that is in the Coast Guard Reserves (used to be active duty) and I can remember him talking about gundecking paperwork lol. He also has to weigh in twice a year and told me about a pay seven if you got in trouble, whatever that is lol. Apparently its a reduction in pay.
Gun Decking will get you in trouble big time, also when you are on deployment and visiting a place and Shore Patrol takes you back to the ship for an incident, you can expect trouble when the LPO finds out.
I knew a QA/SO who was on the flight line and they had just done a FCF on a helo and they were prepping to launch, all of a sudden a AD1 comes running out the line shack waving his hands, so they shut down. Come to find out someone from the phase shop left a torque wrench inside the dog house. But the QA/SO got the biggest blame because he was supposed to check all of it. He had 21 years in, got busted down to second and lost his security clearance. He ended up retiring a second.
My friend got a DWI while home on leave and was held for 30 days before release. He was two weeks past his report back for duty date. He got in lots of trouble 😂
I got a DUI on the base, had a few drinks on a visiting Canadian Destroyer. Went to mast. No RIR or RIP but got sent to DAPA. Got a 6 week vacation at Balboa. What a load of horseshit. Eventually the whole thing faded away and I did my complete time. Not something you want to deal with. Drink responsibly.
1)In bootcamp in 07, a kid sold his pain killers from dental to a group of people, the investigation got a group of about 3 people kicked out, 2)One guy just went straight up sad panda the first week 3) failed prt/pfa 4)an ari followed up by a dui at my command, 5) another pop positive for meth 6) a guy dub 'fat-smiley' busted by ncis for selling cocaine 7) someone maxed out the gsa credit card 8) an LS embezzled over $30k 9)a cob was investigated for sleeping with female midshipmans and kicked 10) a first class slept or engaged in some type of sexual activity with a minor who was a chief's daughter, 11) lastly, I actually got an article 92 on my record for not narcing underage drinking
JT, "45/45 is a form of Non Judicial Punishment, it means 45 days restriction to base 45 days extra duty and they usually add in half a months pay X 2." what does that mean, "half a months pay X 2"?
oh that Missing tool procedure and tool program, That's why I am shocked when I went TAD to ER09 and saw the tools are just all over the place no accountability. LMAO it was so much easier to work there but hard to find tools you need haha
When I was in, there were a few guys who comitted sexual assault and it just got swept under the rug and ignored. The leadership at this command (which shall remain nameless) was sketchy on a good day.
Word of advice? I'd triple check the legal requirements of the FCC with respect to Sandbox and/or other companies that support your channel financially. It has to be super clear that it's a paid endorsement. There might be specific language you should use to communicate that. Lawyers (& shitty people who like to sue) don't seem to care that you imply it "helps your channel". The FCC gets really grumpy about informing viewers/listeners about paid endorsements. You might need to spell it out in legal language to avoid possible headaches later.
The biggest trouble I've been in is when my chief told me to act the rank I want to be and I replied with that's why I act like a civilian chief
SAVAGE
i'd love to see that i'd probably get in more trouble then you for laughing so hard and it be worth it
I’d have responded with a command to have him hit the deck and do push ups. I want to be an Admiral, sir.

My uncle - RMCM with 44 years - said, "You can get away with almost anything as long as you make it to muster."
What is muster?
@@ApexPredator440 Everybody in the division reports to the same place at the same time - usually at 7am local time, or during watch change.
Yo your vids are awesome bro keep up the good work
Sterling Beale appreciate the support sterling
My friend got a DWI while home on leave and was held for 30 days before release. He was two weeks past his report back for duty date. He got in lots of trouble 😂

I got a DUI on the base, had a few drinks on a visiting Canadian Destroyer. Went to mast. No RIR or RIP but got sent to DAPA. Got a 6 week vacation at Balboa. What a load of horseshit. Eventually the whole thing faded away and I did my complete time. Not something you want to deal with. Drink responsibly.
I was told to only call my chiefs by their last name and maybe preface it with ‘my guy’ so chief smith is my guy smith

Being on watch isn't the only time gundecking happens

JT, "45/45 is a form of Non Judicial Punishment, it means 45 days restriction to base 45 days extra duty and they usually add in half a months pay X 2." what does that mean, "half a months pay X 2"?
oh that Missing tool procedure and tool program, That's why I am shocked when I went TAD to ER09 and saw the tools are just all over the place no accountability. LMAO it was so much easier to work there but hard to find tools you need haha

Hey JT, they say you can bring a specific watch to bootcamp. Can you use it as an alarm to wake up earlier than the other recruits, are you allowed?

In summarization, follow Oath of Enlistment and stay out of disciplinary action.
