I'm glad you feel that way. Reviews shouldn't always be about the device as and when they launch. There's a learning curve and understanding that's developed over time which I think is important to share. While I can't use every device for as long as I should to be able to review them properly, I do try to share my opinion on devices such as foldables which are lesser understood by a larger audience. Thank you for taking the time out to appreciate.
I loved my Galaxy Z Fold3 and after upgrading to the Z Fold5, I love it even more. I agree with all your points. I actually hope they keep the small outside screen!
S23 Ultra is more convenient to use. And I still don't trust foldable phones when it comes to durability. If I have to buy a flagship Android phone, then I would go for S series of Samsung rather than the fold or flip series.
Personally, I prefer the bigger cover screens on competing foldables, but the narrow cover display on the Galaxy Z Fold is not a deal breaker for me. I enjoyed using the iPhone 5 and 5s back in the day. This actually reminds me of those phones. It takes a little getting used to, but it is not a terrible experience by any stretch of the imagination.
You made this review so right! I too hv been using fold 5 since launch as my daily driver and it still looks like brand new inside out. Just today I realized how great the outer screen was when I was holding something in one hand and I was able to use the outer screen to text and call with so much ease! Now I wish the outer screen ratio never changes on the fold. And the phones thickness makes it look so premium and easy to hold and pocket. And I am coming from Surface Duo 2, which is another great foldable. Bytheway I love your videos and reviews! Thanks
Thanks mate for sharing your experience. I fear samsung is under pressure to expand their cover screen. I wish they just released a Z Fold 6 and a Z Fold 6 Pro with a larger cover screen as a different line up. But that's just wishing for too much.
I personally did watch a lot of reviews on UA-cam about Samsung Z fold 5 before getting one... after 3 months of usage, no regrets... I totally agree with what has been said in this video. Go ahead and enjoy one
Hi im looking to pick up a fold 5. But I'm worried as some reviewers say the screens cracked along the crease. Do you feel that this would be an issue on the fold 5?
I swapped my S23 Ultra for the fold 5 and it's the best decision I've ever made. Some how have some tiny scuff marks on the hinge so that's annoying as I've always had a case with a hinge cover but other then that I absolutely love it. Yes it's big and bulky with the case on but I have a tablet anytime I want one.
Rumors are samsung will completely redesign the z fold 6, which means most certainly will get a wider outer display. I hate to give up one hand use and being so pocket friendly as with all of the previous z folds. Samsung had the right idea for many years. Since everyone screams bigger is always better, unfortunately thats where the market goes.
I enjoy the narrow display too...however if they get the cover screen closer to that of a normal slab phone while managing to make the device much thinner it may change your mind. But I agree. As of now I really enjoy the narrow front display.
Sad but true. The narrow screen doesn't bother me at all like I thought it would and some shows I watch (mostly on Disney+) have the same aspect ratio as the outer screen plus the outer screen is a sharper picture. I hope they keep the narrow size a option instead of just getting rid of it. 🤞
I agree. I got the Fold 5 as my first foldable because I've had Samsungs forever, and I think the software is very refined. The Open is nice from a hardware perspective, but I chose to stick to a tried and true design.
As a Samsung user who's first foldable is the OnePlus Open I have to agree with you. I like the OnePlus Open a lot but I really miss OneUI. OxygenOS is fine but not really for me.
Finally, a reviewer that understands the front screen. We always hear the front screen is too narrow, it gets old hearing that from people that don't understand folding phones. The front screen is designed for one handed quick on the go tasks. Thanks for also covering the bulk debate. All phones have bulk and you showed that very well.
I completely agree with you! I *almost* ordered a One Plus Open. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized the Fold is a much better device and I'm glad to see your thoughts. I have a Samsung Laptop, watch and tablet. The ecosystem and integration is truly great. I don't use DEX often but when I do, I'm reminded of how great of an option it is. I have completely gotten used to the outer screen and use it often throughout the day. Now, I do wish and hope Fold 6 will be a little bit wider. I have really enjoyed the 5 and it honestly gets me thru a day and a half most times with my regular use. When I do use it all day (when I'm off work) and watch a lot of content, then I can still get a whole day easily. Thank you for sharing.

I had the Z-flip 3 and the protector film started bubbling up and cracking the more i used it and i had it for less than a year. I would imagine this has the same thing. That’s really the only thing holding me back from switching from my IPhone back to the samsung because i love the idea of he foldable phones but i had the worse experience when it came to that protective film peeling up with very light use…
I don't know how some people handle their phones but I used my Z Fold 3 from relaunch till about two weeks ago when I got the Black Friday Z Fold 5 deal. It stll looked fairly new.
I only have experience with the Zfold5, but after nearly six months of use it looks brand new. The hinge is just as smooth as day one, battery life is great. I take it fishing and hiking and it handles some rough, wet and dirty conditions without a problem.
I've always struggled with one-handed use of phones but I love the Z Fold 5 for that. Finally I can use one hand when i need to! After using this device I'll never go back to a standard phone, just love the real estate on the full screen when open.
Hey @mobiscrub , You missed a very important phone this year, the OnePlus 11R. Why though? And how does it compare to NP2? Is it worth buying now at 37K for 16+256?
OnePlus Open has lots of positivity around it, but at the end of the day, I went with Fold 5 due to its narrow size which fits my preference in daily life, like one hand operations, easier to hold and grip, less holding fatigue, the pocketability is better than most of the phone nowadays, and more. And I'm using it naked 😂
I'm still using fold 4.. and yes, quality and feel still like new.. hinge/ bateri/ screen/ speed/ app compatibility.. change to fold 5 is not a bad idea.. but i would rather find that fold 5 is more to update than upgrade.. Let's wait for fold 6 to consider upgrading ❤ Love ur video.. need more like this..
how long you had your z fold 4? I want to buy z fold 5 but I've heard so much negative comments about the hinge cracking. would u tell me about your experience? thank you
Not so long.. only after fold 5 came out a week after carefully make comparison. . i make conclusions that.. price wise and specs.. i prefer fold 4.. bateri size /screen size/ hinge/ ram/ rom.. only fold 5 brighter/ fold shut no gap and 8 gen 2.. not enough to convince me to take fold 5.. as for few months of using i live with the Dex and how smother the software.. i have watch hundreds of video about other folding phone but.. none to compare with samsung.. that stability and how user friendly it is.. im flip 4 user.. i give my flip to my wife , now change flip 4 to flip 5.. and that is major upgrade
U can have bigger folding like xiami or honor. It's hard to keep in ur pants pocket due to large screen. u can have bigger batteries like oppo and vivo fold but no Spen & DEX .. u can have fast charging like pixel fold & techno but missing stable updates.. u can have huawei and but software NOT google friendly.. this is my thought.. other may have different experiences.. dont mind me.. u can do more research.. just play around. UA-cam will search for u.. as long as u keep searching
@key1m2 I have had my Fold 4 (my 1st foldable) for 12 months now, with zero problems. I had to replace my bigger inside screen protector about 2 months ago, but honestly I open / close it A LOT and the screen protector really isn't expensive at all & only took about 10 mins to replace at my local Samsung store.
I pre-ordered the fold 4 and have had it for 16 months. Absolutely no problems other than the screen protector needed to be replaced twice within one week. I'm definitely looking to upgrade on the 6th version
Hi hope you’re doing well I want to ask you something, i have a 14 pro max as my primary device and i want great android but have a budget of like 70 to 80k so do you think i should get pixel 8 or wait for 2 3 months and buy a flagship like s23 ultra, flip 5 or open. Thanks
I don't charge my fold 5 throughout the day and tend to only use the outside screen. I get through my day with at least 40% battery left. I don't find myself using the inner screen as much as i thought i would, but it's nice when i need it.
I got used to the narrow front screen now, even for typing I swipe so it’s very easy. If I have to nitpick, i’ll whine about the battery, weight and the crease. Otherwise i’m a very happy user. I love the fact that it has 2 physical sims slots and also supports sim’s. Love the narrow body. Some people might not like to put a case on the front screen as it can be intrusive but recently I started using a case with in-build screen protector, that solved the issue. Hope the next iteration brings great battery, titanium body and improved camera (:
I currently using Fold 3 for 16 months and still working greats as when I first got it, no issues at all. I even dropped it 5 times with protected case on, and it's still no issues. Yeah the phone is little big and it's a little heavy, and the battery lasted for a day for streaming movies 2 house none stop. Not disappointed to own the Samsung Fold. Peoples will envy you when they compared their phones screen size with the Fold.
I'm still loving my Fold 3. I luv the chunky real "pencil" feel of the stylus. I'm totally dependant on it. But I also miss using my NOTE 4! If the Fold 6 is all it's hyped to be I'll probably jump. Great review!
Thank you. I like the point about narrower screen. AS a Fold user since Fold3 (so Fold3, 4 and 5 now), I get annoyed when people scream it needs the same wider screen as any other phone... I bet 9 out of 10 of those people are not actually the fold users, and they just don't know what they're asking for (and I'm afraid Samsung will listen for once). The narrow phone when closed is perfect. If they do make it wider, it will ruin it, IMO.
I'm upgrading from the 3 to the 5. I've had the 3 for a couple of years and haven't really had any complaints. Ironically enough when I started checking out the five and thinking about upgrading was when my three started dying. First to go was the speaker when the phone was unfolded all the way. When you hit about the halfway point of unfolding the phone the sound would cut out. Then I had no sound at all when opening the phone. Then the sound started to go when the phone was closed also which means no more ringer even. But to be honest I didn't really bother me because I have the jump lease program from T-Mobile and I pretty much get a new phone about every year anyway. I had only kept this one because I'm stuck on folding phones now and the four didn't seem like a drastic improvement.
Hi Karan. Great review. How the battery goes if I turn on mobile hotspot most of the time? Last year when OP Open launch, I have set my mind to get the Open because the bigger battery and faster charging. 67W wired and I have old oneplus 30W car charger. But when I saw your review, Samsung Dex and OneUI features nowadays has enough to convince me to make sacrifice on it's battery performance compared to Open. I guess my question to you is how much different than Open, and does Samsung charging really that bad -- for person who use turn on mobile hotspot most of the time? Oh and I'm also using Watch 4 now. That's why I also consider Fold 5. -Fan from 🇲🇾
did you ever experienced the hinge cracking of foldable screen? i want to buy z fold 5 but i have heard so much negatives about this issue. it seems like at least 50% of users had this issue! and have u ever used these phones more than 1 year?
Very happy to hear that you have revised your initial thoughts when comparing to O+O👍. All aspects you have mentioned are no-gos for competition. Actually, there are even more if it comes to software and Flex mode. I really hope Samsung will stick to their genius form factor.
I appreciate your honesty. Having had OnePlus in the past and enjoying their phones I'm hesitant to get their "Open" because they are not only notorious for releasing phones right after they put out a flagship but their resale value is non-existent after a year of ownership. Say what you want about Samsung (or even Apple) but their flagship devices historically hold their value well. Over the last year I used the 7 Pro on sale at Best Buy which I got for dirt cheap after trading in a 12 pro max , got bored of it quickly and picked up the S23 Ultra (which I loved) but ended up trading it in for the 15 Pro Max. Apple makes a good, solid phone that just works but they're boring. which is why I am now looking at the foldable market. If I have to have a phone to "stay connected" it might as well be interesting. It's entirely possible that my inability to "never settle" stems from my adhd, but honestly tech isn't as interesting as it's advertised to be. And, as I get older it takes far more to get a dopamine response from this industry.
Glad someone finally cleared it why fold 5 is a better option than the OnePlus open!! The Fold 5 is mostly preferred by professionals compared to any other foldables. The ecosystem, set of unique features & build quality makes it the best foldable. Idk why almost all tech influencers are saying OnePlus is the best foldable out there. Software, camera and feature wise Samsung nails it!!
LOL I honestly believe once MKBHD said something about the outta screen everyone else jumped on it. But the outter screen is completely subjective. I came from the 13 mini so the outter screen for me was a non-issue and prefer the one handed usefulness when out walking my dog, etc.
after MKBHD's phone of the year video i realised he's full of bs. I can agree and live with OnePlus getting the foldable of the year, but giving the honorable mention to pixel... TO PIXEL??? that's a lot of bs@@Karif-dk9iv
Because those influencers never use a Foldable more than a few hours and don't know much about One UI and Samsung's superior eco system. They just use a Foldable as a slab phone and compare it that way. Simply stupid! The actual Foldable users know what is important, but they are not influencers.
I have the s23 ultra, i absolutely love this phone. BUT, its massive, in terms of one handed use or even just day to day. Ive been looking at the fold 5 because of its ease of use one handed and when you want the big screen, you have it. As someone who has experienced both, would you say its worth the upgrade? Amazing content btw always love your takes and appreciate your opinions and the style you present them 🙌
Glad you dont follow the hype. I've had all the folds since the 3 and the 5 just seems so polished, i dont think they can improve the design any further. My 4 wasn't bad but like my 3 its inner screen broke. On paper the Oppo/1+ is better. I just think over time the Samsung fold 5 will be more durable together with a proven ecosystem and worldwide support. The bad reports are starting with 1+ open.
durability: i open and close my fold5 a few times a day; showing no signs of breaking down. battery: easily lasts more than a day. but i would like a wider front screen, hoping the rumors for fold6 are correct.
The Oppo Find N3 crease is really great compared to Samsung Z Fold 5. You can't feel it nor it is very visible like on Samsung. If Samsung don't improve their crease next year then good luck I'm sure they will lose more market share. It's Samsung 5th gen now but the crease has not improved at all.

I am using Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 8/256GB, SD-888 edition, and got Android 14/One UI 6 update in early December, the worrying thing is that before this update I was able to run, all banking apps like yono, phonepe, bajaj finserv and axis mobile etc but now after this one ui 6 update i could not run any of them in secure folder Can you tell the easy solution of this problem through video on your Hindi channel?
First, I used the Z Fold 4, and now, after four months, I'm still using the new one, which is the Fold 5. I have to say, I can't switch to any other phone, unlike Samsung. It's incredible; I don't even use a cover.
My Fold 4 died two months after the warranty passed. After perusing the internet it was a common problem and Samsung made me pay for the repair. Even cell phone carriers are aware of the problem. The power button didn't work and screen was blank. The reason stated was that a ribbon cable inside malfunctioned and affected the power button and screen. Now I'm a bit hesitant in the subsequent Fold models because of this incident.
I have the fold 4, love it but I would like to see Samsung produce am Ultra fold model for those os us that want a larger front display. I will be looking at other choices when it’s time to upgrade
This is an honest review and I agree with you on almost everything you said but if Samsung will give us a better front-screen form factor, it will be a game changer. The competition from the OnePlus Open and Pixel Fold will make the foldable Phones market even better but no doubt, Samsung still leads
Been a samsung fan for years, till i bought the Oppo Find N3 what a beast only because it was $500 cheaper than z fold5 to try out. ❤ the beautiful display ❤❤ the Snapdragon processor ❤❤❤ the Ultra Super Fast 67W Supervooc charger which comes with it, even comes with a phone case, not to fuss about a wireless charging option never owned a wireless charger in life.❤❤❤❤ Hasselblad camera. Just missing a Micro Sd slot😢
So, I'm really torn. Right now I have the S22U and the OnePlus Open. The thing is I was planning on upgrading my S22U to the S24U but after having the OnePlus Open for a couple months I'm starting to think that I'm not sure I even want a slab phone anymore. I mean I love my S22U but there's just something about a foldable that a slab phone can't compete with. So now I hear that Zfold 5 calling me 😅 The problem is that I'm pretty sure the S24U is going to have some pretty awesome AI features only available because of the SD 8Gen3 and I'm probably going to miss that if I get the Zfold 5 instead. Not to mention the better cameras. On the other hand the Zfold 5 folds and that's the thing I really want. So I'm basically trying to decide if I want to get the Zfold 5 and just upgrade to the Zfold 6 imwhen it comes out in July of 2024, or get the S24U and upgrade to the Zfold 6. Either way I will be getting the Zfold 6 it's just a question of whether I'm going to be upgrading from the Zfold 5 or the S24U 😅
I just bought a z fold 4 off ebay that im not even going to use just to trade in for a z fold 5 or 6 when it comes out. It cost me less than $400 because it has issues staying connected to cellular towers. Its in pretty much perfect condition on the outside and works fine on WiFi. Samsung is offering $1000 on trade in right now for it. I might go ahead and take advantage of that now and get the free $700 out or it while i can.
Dude sweet *** I use an iPhone 13 Pro enjoy the photography have airpods watch but PC at work etc I have no loyalty to Apple any more thoughts if to go with the Fold the camera/video change?
Samsung needs to add the latest Ultra series camera instead of running a few generations behind. This will at least help justify non fold buyer to take the plunge.
Very good video. I have an S23U but learning about that Goodlock trick to use 4K Dex was helpful to me. The two items that stopped me from getting the Z-Fold 5 were: 1) I liked the camera far better on the S23U (my main reason for my choice) and 2) I didn't like the plastic inner screen.
I have tried every iteration of the Fold series and sent each one back. Except this one. The form factor takes some getting used to. Some apps are a bit quirky. But all in all, I believe Samsung is getting closer to perfection with each release. After a month of use, I just can't go back to a brick phone.
I've had the open and it's to large to keep and so many people have broke the inside screen after the first month of owning it. I wasn't willing to take a risk like that. I went for the fold 5 way better software experience. It just works and the opens software UI is a mess
The only complaint about a Z Fold phone I have is that every year they're released, they all start getting a crack down the center of the screen where it folds. In less than 16 months, you'll have to spend $400-$500 to get the inner screen replaced.

I only have experience with the Zfold5, but after nearly six months of use it looks brand new. The hinge is just as smooth as day one, battery life is great. I take it fishing and hiking and it handles some rough, wet and dirty conditions without a problem.
I want you to make a video of all the features of One UI 6 in full in a new video, thanks
I've always struggled with one-handed use of phones but I love the Z Fold 5 for that. Finally I can use one hand when i need to! After using this device I'll never go back to a standard phone, just love the real estate on the full screen when open.
Hey @mobiscrub ,
You missed a very important phone this year, the OnePlus 11R.
Let's wait for fold 6 to consider upgrading ❤
Love ur video.. need more like this..
how long you had your z fold 4?
Unfold Display Wallpaper Link Please❤
Hi hope you’re doing well
I want to ask you something, i have a 14 pro max as my primary device and i want great android but have a budget of like 70 to 80k so do you think i should get pixel 8 or wait for 2 3 months and buy a flagship like s23 ultra, flip 5 or open.
Thanks
I don't charge my fold 5 throughout the day and tend to only use the outside screen. I get through my day with at least 40% battery left. I don't find myself using the inner screen as much as i thought i would, but it's nice when i need it.
Sick wallpaper! Can you throw a link for it?
Should I wait for fold 6 as its already March end of 2024?
Is is still better to buy a fold 5 over a fold 6 if we get nice deal on a fold 5 ?
Whats up with the big black boxes to either sides of video??? Why have a big screen BUT cant have a full screen video experience?
The aspect ratio of the Samsung Z5 is better than all competitors. Thanks for the video.
Nope
Just ordered one coming Tuesday changing from s23 so hoping for the best your video helped my decision a lot thankyou
I am planning to tradebmyns23u to fold 5. How's your experience?
I bought one just a few days ago. I love the large screen
how's the battery holding up?
After the latest update on fold 5 android auto keep on disconnecting..any fix??
There is no widevine L1 support for Netflix for fold 4, Netflix content is restricted to 480 p
S24 ultra I should buy or a fold 5.
Please let me know
I got used to the narrow front screen now, even for typing I swipe so it’s very easy.
Amazing review, giving realistic feedback. Samsung Z fold 5 is way better!
Inner screen wallpaper link please.. Ty
-Fan from 🇲🇾
Good review. Simple, conclusive, and easy to understand.
Why didnt you get a cover?
Zfold 5 or s24?
If s24 then what type of person would by zfold 5 besides money?
Hi Karan what you think of the Flip 5 in 2023 ?
Flop way overpriced way too fragile and lacks too much...awful cameras
I have had the Fold 3, 4, and now the 5. Love it more than any other device I own. This is the one screen to rule them all.
did you ever experienced the hinge cracking of foldable screen? i want to buy z fold 5 but i have heard so much negatives about this issue. it seems like at least 50% of users had this issue! and have u ever used these phones more than 1 year?
Well summed up. 👏
how is the durability of your fold holding up ?? any concerns after 7months?
Not at all! Been using it everyday..seems fit
I love the aspect ratio. It assures that the phone has two distinct modes with distinct advantages, instead of them overlapping.
Can u give us special games for z fold 5 in which 1 screen being used for display and another for console
Samsung z fold 5 is 1 million percent better than OnePlus Open...no one can argue with it
true bro
Yeah
Yes we can...way too overpriced too fragile and lacks too much
Tell me more coz i thought open is better

I have the s23 ultra, i absolutely love this phone. BUT, its massive, in terms of one handed use or even just day to day. Ive been looking at the fold 5 because of its ease of use one handed and when you want the big screen, you have it. As someone who has experienced both, would you say its worth the upgrade?
Amazing content btw always love your takes and appreciate your opinions and the style you present them 🙌
I have the Z Fold 5. It's so INCREDIBLE 😅🎉😊❤
dude pls answer, is it ok to keep main screen without hydro gel cover screen around a year with normal daily use ?
I went from the S22 Ultra to the Z-Fold 5, and I love the overall experience 💯🎯✅️
Finaly i see gboard being used on the cover screen , thank you so much now that i know it will work
I have been contemplating whether to get this or not since my broken Fold 2. If I decide to get this, I hope it will last for many years.
Hi, i use multiple excel sheets a lot, so I'm looking for an android device,
My priorities: multitasking, portable and travel friendly, good battery
Please recommend better options from below, or suggest any other option
Option 1.)getting samsung tab s9 and a sangsung phone
Option 2.) Fold 5.
Option 3.) Buy surface pro(windows)+ samsung phone
Budget: 1.5L
I am also happy with my z fold 5 ❤️✨️
try honor magic v2 .... looks way better, better battery technology and capacity, narrower, when folded it has the same display as a normal phone, design are great, camera are great....alot of positive things i saw on that foldable.....i would like to see an honest review between both
I might get the fold 7-10?
I am using Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 8/256GB, SD-888 edition, and got Android 14/One UI 6 update in early December, the worrying thing is that before this update I was able to run, all banking apps like yono, phonepe, bajaj finserv and axis mobile etc but now after this one ui 6 update i could not run any of them in secure folder
Can you tell the easy solution of this problem through video on your Hindi channel?
Just got mine today. I am late to the show but am in love again. My fold 4 got the black screen of death 😢
Good point.
Samsung is doing it right. Bigger isn't always better, even the girls will agree with that.
So now I hear that Zfold 5 calling me 😅
The problem is that I'm pretty sure the S24U is going to have some pretty awesome AI features only available because of the SD 8Gen3 and I'm probably going to miss that if I get the Zfold 5 instead.
All you have to donis have the inside screen protector by a authorized dealer and its back to new. I still use the Z Fold 4 and its still amazing.
Should I wait for a samsung fold 6 or go for fold 5 now?
You should go buy fold 5 instead.
I love my Fold 5. I could trade it in, plus pay $100 to get the Oneplus Open. No way in hell I would do that. Im in love with this phone.
Dude sweet *** I use an iPhone 13 Pro enjoy the photography have airpods watch but PC at work etc I have no loyalty to Apple any more thoughts if to go with the Fold the camera/video change?
huh?
Good video presentation.
I like Samsung fold The only complaint I have is it's not as superior as S Ultra in terms of camera...
Samsung needs to add the latest Ultra series camera instead of running a few generations behind. This will at least help justify non fold buyer to take the plunge.
Nope never happen
using from last 4 months fold 5 best phone and heaps of features easy to use with one hand
Hai sir,wht u prefer z fold 5 or one plus open?
I got fold5 just a week ago from my husband,my first foldable
Good video, I like my Z fold 5.
I have the Fold 4 and even though the 5 isn't that big of a difference for me to upgrade. I can say I never wanna go back to a regular phone!
