CONCORD open beta runs from July 18-21, free for all players.
Early access beta from July 12-14.
• Full game has 16 heroes, 12 maps, and 6 modes
• Post-launch content like seasons will be free
• Single life and respawn modes
• Movement is 'floaty', reminiscent of Destiny or Halo
• Most characters have double jump, some have triple jump or dodge
• Heroes have two abilities and a passive skill, but no ultimates.
• Each Freegunner has a unique weapon and health pool
• Before a match, you have to select a small crew of heroes to choose from and you can only swap to those during the game
• Each hero can be selected once per team but there's no role limit

It looks like 90% of the people that have actually previewed it. Have said the game is good. A bunch of big fps/ competitive shooter streamers (including Shroud) are talking about it (positively). Even Snowbike Mike from kinda funny (Xbox Guy) said the game is really good & fun.

It's part of Sony's Live Service plan. It actually has been a success so far with Helldivers 2 (that's a Playstation Studios published game and is one of the game's in Sony's Live Service plan. It has been a HUGE success). Two other games in Sony's live service plan are that Lego Horizon game (that will most likely be a mild success) and Concord (which will fail and bomb, but that was taken into account with Sony's Live Service plan).
They have a total of 5 to 10 live service games in this plan, most of which haven't released yet (the upcoming "Marathon" is one of them), and the reason they have so many is because they know most of them will bomb but there will at least be a few hits that will make them tons and tons of money.
They already pulled it off with the huge success of Helldivers 2. That Lego Horizon game, which is also live service, looks to be on track of actually being a mild success that makes a profit. Concord bombing (which it will fail hard. It's on track to fail hard) won't matter since in the grand scheme of things.. Personally, I do NOT like live service games (the reason why I do NOT play Helldivers 2). But the bright side of this is that when some of their live service games make money, that's more money they have for making their solo player games.

The emphasize on lore is interesting and the game will receive stuff from it.
As for gameplay, it is good, but that's you to decide when beta comes out.

You must not have played on Playstations too much then. PS1 and PS2 had some of the greatest multiplayer and online games. SOCOM was one of the first and best online shooters. I'll take a new SOCOM over any of their single player franchises.

Most media i saw who played this actually enjoyed it and thought the balancing was good. I seen Game Informer and Gamespots reviews only earlier today and both said its good. You will always get some who don't like the game and to pick a single one and get an overall general opinion on game is a bit much.

Sony didn't cancel Factions. That was Naughty Dog's decision. Naughty Dog didn't want to devote so much of their time and studio to maintaining that game. They said that making that game would stop them from making the other games they love.
@danielbarry5630 I know that part. But they were also pushed back by Bungie and told that their game wasn't good enough even after 4 years yet this mess was. Sony should've build up Naughty Dog even more. Hire a few extra people to focus on Factions while the core members worked on single player games. But Song at the time was too focused on Gaas that they didn't care. So I'm not going to care about Concord lol

As a Playstation player I didn't hate it, but it sure as hell didn't grab my attention. It was the most "Pass!" game I can remember seeing watching the trailer. Besides, Marvel seems to be releasing a game that plays sort of like this that I'm more excited for. That doesn't help either.

I think some theses Hero Shooter/Mulitplayers are coming out randomly is because I think these games were in Developement when Jim Ryan was Charge because He was Talking about pushing for Online games for the Future in Playstation . Well Now he left I think the CEOS are Pushing these games out the Door because they don't want to conitune this Online plan that Jim Ryan made for the PlateForm. But that just my Theory but could be wrong we might just have to wait and see.

Stella really did really seemed off when said some stuff about some stuff on concord
Like, comparing balancing with ow which is definitely a not good example since blizzard since the begging and specially nowdays does a terrible job at it (which have role separating unlike Concord and still poorly balanced, but having or not specific roles really should consider a game broken or not like she was saying), specially when they recently make a meta worse than double shield. Just a terrible comparison to get from.
Funnier was she saying about map unbalanced while also OW does present the same stuff she spoke and even seem be less worse than OW's case since some sides have spawn advantage due to position and even how their are structured.
Each game has a dynamic, just think she didn't understand the game enough with her play time. As times saying " is heavy team based, no skill expression" while taking 2/3 down is really contradictory (not necessary on her gameplay by saw other videos getting solo streaks like that)
Until now I'm sold, but need to wait beta arrives for see how the game actually handles, characters from my look seem ok, some underwhelming, but how things are actually just by playing.
But her review really didn't think was well made by analysing about what the game is, as other think done better tbh.

I would have liked it more if it had been class based with character customization and lots of optional guns etc. it doesn’t look bad but the problem is that hero shooters are just limiting creatively and sometimes you think a game concept is gonna be great but by the time it releases the genre is stale and over saturated. The art looks dope though

Bro, they already had it with Helldivers 2 but they effed that up. They could have had TLOU Factions, but they cancelled it to continue the story that doesn't need to be continued. They could just make a SOCOM game, but refuse to touch anything that isn't the same tired formula over and over again. BTW, The First Descendant looks waaayyyy better.
