What a great Project Tutorial!! It just turned out "Simply Fabulous"! Between the construction, staining, hardware, and install, it's an A+++!! The step by step was very helpful and put the perspective one needs for the same project! Very nice. Just curious, what would you say the weight of such a door is? So, it just slides on the top right? From allot of use and all, it wouldn't loosen from wear and fall down would it? GREAT JOB Daddy K, looks great! . . .As always . . . That is awesome man I am actually working on my son's bedroom and I made a closet that I planned on putting a door just like this on! I've been working on it out in the barn using reclaimed wood thanks so much for showing this super helpful! 👍
Nice job and great video, Daddy Kirb! (Grandfather?! No way!) Really like the beveled edges. Your design is unique and looks surprisingly good without the two vertical stiles. Agreed, love the bloopers at the end! Bravo!
Great door. I'm planning of making one very soon. It's going between my bedroom and master bath also. I have a question with the panels. I noticed you glued them and clamped them together until they dried. How is your door panel looking now? Any gaps? Or any warping between the panels??
@@daddykirbs Okay, the opening is about 48 inches wide. It's going to be a very wide door. This is my first time making one. I was thinking of adding dowels on the panel. I was also thinking of painting it white rustic looking. Thanks for sharing your video. 👍

Great job! Couple questions...did you install any hardware/railing at the bottom to guide the door? And I noticed you did not remove the existing trim on the door opening, how did you fix where the hinges were for the old door? Thank you.
My hesitation wouldn't be desire, but time. I do hope to do more projects like this and even for others. I'll have to find a way to leave my day job to pursue projects like this.
The front side was coated with a 2-in-1 stain, but we didn't really like it so it was sanded off and touched up with regular 1-step stain. The back only had the 1-step stain. No extra product was put on to coat it after that.
Wonderful tutorial. Beautiful door. Loved the bloopers at the end! Liam looks just like his Daddy.
I like how you used the t square to line up all the screws. Great job! I hope to do the same
Love the door. We want to build one like it for our upstairs. Great job!!
A lot of precision & you made a fabulous door 🚪
thanks for sharing the bloopers awesome job!!!
Love those doors! Thank you so much for this tutorial! The bloopers the end. 😁
Looked really great! The hardware made everything come together nice. I liked the outtakes at the end! Great work Blake!

Very nice and Liam is so handsome!
I was glad to see you using Prestain Wood Conditioner before staining.
My woodworking buddy, Todd, said I'd be happier with the finished product if I did. I trust his advice :)
Different style of video...I like it. I’d love to have one in my home one day. You cracked me up at the end.
I'm a goof. There are so many bloopers LOL. I'm glad I could make you smile today.
great door and funny video! loved the end.
Great video. Just curious, it's a year later, any warping on the 1 x 4's?
Freaking amazing bud, you rock 🤙
Great video, love the door. Thanks for the share.

I really can't say because this door was hung in my daughters house right before she sold it. I hope the new owners are happy with it.

I think there was a small roller on the bottom of the door as a guide. It's been so long I can't remember LOL
Is it too noisy?
Really nice work.... 👌
Looks great
Nice job. 🐨🐨👏🏼👏🏼
Did I miss seeing the chicken coop finished??? I saw numerous building videos but mught have missed the completed build.
Nope. It's not done yet. I'll get back on that one real soon... I hope
Great video!!
What stain was used on the wood? Name and brand please.
Great tutorial.
My wall has no studs. What can I do? I want to install the barn door but how?

Can you list all the hardware that you bought to make this door 🚪?
How about a follow up 4 years later of how that's door you built with zero regard for wood movement is doing
Natural wood elf
After you stained it, did you coat it with wax or polyurethane or anything? Or just left the stain alone?

Is Mr Todd the teacher or the student?
Mr. Todd has been doing woodworking longer than I have. He taught me a few things on this project. The shop is his.
Looks great, nice job. You look too young to be a Granddad. :)

Why so many takes ? Your not acting just be natural
Well, in a way I am acting. I am trying to tell a story in an interesting way without all the normal stammering. I slip up on my words often.
Daddykirbs Farm - A Homesteading Story hmmm ... then you should save all the out takes for bloopers 😛
