Soo sick..I have really been so inspired by his playing. After listening to his thoughts I realize that we really have so much in common in our approach to the drums
Maybe even some of...grandpas lettuce...depending on the gig....Best answer for a pre show ritual...you know, depending on the gig and stretching is second...sometimes first...depending on the gig.
What a real dude, with real advice. Spanky KILLS it. Now, I want to say to MI (after thanking you for posting this of course....) - MI team, ya need a mic or two in the audience so we (and the artist) can hear the questions. Just sayin'.....you have the ability to do this! Thanks again for posting !
Ugh I know. There are two wireless mics set up every time but the darn students don't use them. I keep telling them to USE THEM. Anyway, these clinics are really produced for the audience in the room. The video is purely to capture for our archives. I chose to post them here and everyone complains about the quality but all they fail to realize that they are getting to see something for free by clicking a few times. Oh well. Enjoy future uploads.
@@drumprogram6511 Well don't worry, I surely do appreciate the uploads bro!!!! Keep em coming, and tell the students that bcdrummer on youtube says "Pretty Please with Sugar on Top, Use the Fkn Mics!!" lol thanks for the reply and swing on!
Ok, You're raised in Philly... That says it all to Me.. Exposed to all the Greats Growing up... That 1st list you named is a killer Start**** You're the evolution of being Xposed to Great Drummers..... ((CJ.....is from Macon Georgia....))
I am a drummer and never do solos...the reason is because I would be boring, the same way Spanky's solos are!!Only certain drummers can really solo...JUST KEEPING IT REAL!!!
He fucks up when demonstrating the internal clock at 21:08. His "one" at 21:21 is somewhere between the "and" of three and the downbeat of 4, allowing for slight imperfections of 16th note spacing. It certainly doesn't line up when you set a metronome to his introductory counting, and it also doesn't line up when you slow it down to .25 speed or and count the individual 16th notes. Pretty far off for a guy who chastises the imaginary band for not following him :) .
I love his style as a drummer man 💯💯💯💯been studying him for a whole decade
Still needing an extra decade probably 🙂
Hi, what's the beat he's playing at 25.18 ?
I was waiting for a clinic video from Spanky McCurdy for a while now. Thanks man!
spanky the king of drums

Amazing Dynamics!!
I’d give anything to have been there. Too bad it seemed like a tough crowd!

This is a style of drumming I would never attempt to learn strictly because I’d only want to hear Spank do it.
