If you would do 10 hours versions of this type of video I would still watch them.
I really appreciate that!
Regarding the 2 models, based on your numbers reseller A makes $120 per hour, and reseller B makes $137.50 and while that adds up over time, it's not a drastic difference and they are both a great hourly wage!
I think there are so many factors that go into why resellers do things the way they do: storage space, sourcing time available, financial goals, life schedule etc. That's what so great about it. Even a seller like me that logically "shouldn't" be reselling with such little time available, can still meet their goals.
I'm a part timer and source like the reseller A in the first store. I buy things that will sell for $50+ and I spend a lot of time learning as I source.
Because of my schedule I prefer the 15-25 minute videos. Yours are typically spot on. I have been learning from you and several others, so the 15-25 min range allows me the opportunity to watch all the others and yours and spread the likes all around. Thanks for your videos and all the knowledge you share.
Short or long I'll watch it either way. I've learned so much from you Dalton. I just wish I could figure out a way to build my reselling sales but life keeps getting in the way. I do have a plan though and I hope it works, should take me about 2 months. You just keep killing it!!!
Great information. Thanks. Happy Holidays
I think the biggest differences/deciding factors between the two businesses models are time management & inventory space. If you have the space then bulk is def the way to go, but if you don’t have the time management (or organization for that matter) then bulk is a HORRIBLE option & will fail miserably.
I love watching you go sourcing, gives me a great idea what to look for!! …maybe at the end of haul you can do an close up of what the shoes look like/condition their in or what the insides of the shoe or some if it’s markings…
I am working the Dalton method very part time.. I sell about 10-12 pairs a week and making about $800 a month!
I do one thing differently that saves me a ton of time… After taking a picture of the shoe, I put it directly into my shipping box with a sku # .. when I sell it, just pull the box and tag it… the whole storing the shoe, pulling the shoe, boxing shoe.. is already done…
PS your adorable! Love that you share your success with others..
Love this style of video, Dalton! This is the kind of stuff that helps me the most. Thanks for calling out some brands that you used to pass over but that you've found worth your time - I also used to pass up Skechers and Crocs!
Would you put Fila in this category as well? I pretty much always skip over them, assuming they're not worth my time, but I did see you grab a pair. Should I be paying more attention to that brand?
Definitely love seeing these sourcing videos. And, good idea on picking up some more batteries. LOL!
I picked up a new in box pair of Heeley’s I paid 49 for them…. Probably a mistake, but I’ll get my money back and some experience selling them.
I’ve always left Sperry’s behind. I’ll start checking them out. As well as most Skechers and Clark’s. I’ll start looking more closely for them.
Appreciate all the information.
Yes, love the sourcing videos, keeps me up to date with brands. I do watch you, Joey, the tornados, and profit monster. Instead of watching TV shows, I keep an earbud in and learn for my side hustle. Was selling everything but now nicheing down to jeans and shoes.. Keep up the awesome work! And thank you for posting these videos
I love the long videos. I will watch and listen while I am at my full time job or while I’m thrifting so the brands or sinking into my brain. Nice haul!!
I really enjoy your videos no matter the length. I have never been into apparel so trying to learn these brands of clothes and shoes from all the resellers I watch is a lot of info. I actually love the Sketchers work boots. I just buy a new pair when the old one's need replaced. Thank you for the awesome videos they are helping me learn a lot. Smitty.
As a full time reseller, it is always a good day when the stores are hitting! Great finds today Daulton!
Nice finds! I enjoy these sourcing videos because it teaches us what to look for and you provide great info. Definitely would say the preferred business model would be finding many good shoes in a short amount of time. instead of wandering around trying to find one or two home run items. I am turning to shoes more and more after watching you and Drew! I am getting better at finding good, re-sellable shoes thanks to you two! Let's GO!
Love the sourcing videos❤️ My favorite! Thanks!
i totally understand what you mean when you were talking about cutting stores from your list .i just cut a store today from my list. They have taken everything that of any value and mark it up (20 dollars for a nike hoodie with a strain ) . i use to leave with 3 or four big bags of stuff and now i cant even find a half of bag of stuff when i go there .
Incredibly educational as always. Love these sourcing vids, Dalton.
That last stop really made the trip - yes yes yes to more of these longer sourcing videos!
Love these type of videos!!! I watch them whenever I’m on break or eating.
Great video, Dalton! I learned a few new styles that are worth picking up in this video.
That's a heck of a shoe section in that Goodwill. Today for the first time, I was able to go to the GW Superstore and the bins next to it, in another neighborhood. Walked out with nothing from both. The bins were disgusting. Everything was dirty and broken, and the clothe smelled bad. My local one only have 4 to 12 feet of shoes and most not worth anything. Miami thrifting is pretty bad.
Great advice on the business model, appreciate the great content
When you throw in the fact that you most likely have more knowledge on what to buy for resale. It makes sense in both of your purchase methods. When I'm shopping sources I have to be more fussy in my purchases due to my lack of expertise.
Good segment, I quit Crocs and never started Armor all- the market turns !! Thanks. Elizabeth
Loved the video, thanks so very much!!! Do you do free shipping and if so which method do you use. Do you have any size preferences or don't worry about the sizes. Last question how do you find so many stores that sell so many shoes. Thank YOU kindly!
I like to watch the whole shop!!
Great Video, thanks for all the info !!
I don’t have enough time for the limited profit items. If I was full time sure but being that I only source one or two days a week I can’t spend the time to clean that amount of stuff. I’m there for the low hanging fruit
First thing I do really like the sourcing trips keep those coming second how do you price your shoes I’m on eBay should I just use sell similar and look at what the recent soles are and go there or do you undercut those just curious but you did get me into more shoe sales I’m telling you it’s a good good niche thanks brother
Insane how many shoes you have to pick from. The GW I have near my home has only one shell for women’s shoes and one for men’s shoes. Every time I go there maybe I have found one or two pairs of decent shoes, all the rest aren’t good brands or nice styles at all. Sometimes have haven’t found anything worth it. I am very picky when I buy shoes for re-selling. I am learning a lot from you. Thank you for your guidance.
I don’t think you can even compare the two “business models,” as you call them. If he’s a new reseller he’s learning the process and can’t just fill up a cart of shoes in 30 minutes like you do. Without the expertise, he would more than likely end up with a bunch of duds and lost money if he tried doing that. Just like anything, reselling has a learning curve that requires a lot more time investment in the beginning.
I am learning a bunch from you! Keep making these type videos please!! 👍👍
Sidi cycling shoes have done really well for me, very quick turn around every time I find them. I've sold that exact pair of LA Sportiva.
Definitely liked seeing this kind of video. I want to see more!!
Yo great content as usual. The content providers I love to watch, I’d prefer longer style like 30-45 min but shorter vids for providers I’m not sure about. You always hv things I learn from so I’m looking for new vids from you. Tbh I also like your interview as well. Gl!
Yes we love your sourcing videos, please keep making more
New Sub. Love selling shoes. I have great luck with the bins nearest to me that has mostly shoes. It’s crazy what ppl leave behind and the COG usually less than $2.
Yes I love longer videos much love from North Carolina 💙
Nice haul!! Looking forward to them new batteries! Let’s gooooo
How do you clean vans that have suede on them?
Would like to look at your Posh and eBay stores!
Can you post up links?
Thanks!
I'm a everything seller but im cutting back to fewer categories. Mainly 3 categories. Shoes being my main.
Have you had any issues yet with Ebay forcing any of your Nike shoes to go to their Authentication even though they don't meet the dollar amount value Ebay states when Nike shoes have to go to their Authentication? I was just reading on Ebay community discussion board that a few people are having this happen after Nike shoes sold for less than $50 are having the ship to address of Ebay's Authentication Center. So a few of these sellers are upset of having to notify buyers that their orders will have a week or more delay in delivery due to this.
Regarding the two models, I think it depends on several factors. And really, neither one is better than the other IMO. Regarding the factors- First, how much time does the person have? With that, is it a full or part time thing? For example, the quicker and easier route is for me to sell on the smaller scale because I am in grad school and I teach full time, and live at my parents house. During the summer, however, I could bump this up since I’d have more time. Also, how much space does the person have? How much money do they have to start up? I think a lot of factors go into play with which is the better model for that person and their goals.
To elaborate on the question of how much do they have to start up, I ask this for a couple reasons. First, if they need to make quick flips to increase their capital (esp if they are working with little capital), then I think the quick and easy are the way to go, along with other items initially. Overtime and with increased experience, especially if you decide to make it full time, you will go for all things you can flip (I’d assume) and can sit on it longer than the average flipper if need be. Most of this is my assumption with some experience (mostly in video games and cards though) so open to feedback !
Absolutely loved this video! You are a natural on UA-cam! How many hours did it take you to source from start to finish?
Thank you!🥺 10 hours total. 4 of which was spent driving to my sourcing area(2 hours each way)
🎉yae Dalton new batteries👍🤣 Great video and information, appreciate your sharing. Great last stop👍❤️
Great Video!!
Hi,interesting. You have experience Can you do sold items video please! God bless you
I’m brand new and spend way too much time at the thrifts looking things up! I want to be like you and just know the styles and the good buys by sight. How can I learn one Adidas style from another or Nike or NB? Should I go into their retail stores and just start learning all the different styles?
You should keep looking everything up at every thrift you go to, and keep learning🙂 Can’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 10 & you definitely can’t skip chapters 2-9
Dang man! U crushed it 💯👟🔥
Everyone has a method, as an everything seller, sure I might have only picked up two pairs of shoes, but I may have also found a book worth 100, a small electronic worth 150, or 50. A golf club worth 80. A small action figure for 50. I get what you're doing, nothing wrong with one category selling, but an experienced everything seller can do just as good or better.
Are these stores goodwill? I don’t know of any goodwills that restock before they open.
Great video!!! How often do you hit each goodwill on your route each week?
I usually run this one once a week
Where can I find your Poshmark closet?
Been here since the beginning! Proud of you man!
I know you have bro! Means a lot🙏
Even though I lean towards seller A (aka everything) since I only resell as a hobby, I love these kinds of videos purely for education on shoe brands. Looking at finally picking up a drill brush, would you recommend the yellow or white ones? Everything I've heard is "soft bristle" but both you and RNZY have showed the yellow (medium bristle) brushes in videos.
Keep up the hustle!
Yeah medium bristle is best for the soles
@@DealingWithDalton Appreciate the response man.
I absolutely agree, buy more sell more
I know some of the Goodwills near me will have good stuff but ridiculous prices. Others will have bad stuff but cheap prices. Very few will be just right with the quality and prices.
Hi Dalton.
When you replace laces do you put in your listing ,Not original laces ?
So many shoes in your stores .
Great content
No I don’t note it in the listing
I like longer videos because I watch it while listing or drafting
I’m 70, retired RN. Reselling for spending $, also love to thrift. Business models change with years in the business. How far from home do you source? Love the info. Elizabeth
2 hours roughly
The only way you are going to really learn what shoes are good buys, what sells and what sits, and what can be your bread and butter shoes, is to buy a bunch and learn from experience. I am not saying buy a bunch of low quality shoes, or waste your money just to gain experience, but with a combination of checking comps and making sure the shoes you get are sellable without too much work, you will figure out pretty quickly what works for you. My point, which I know is long winded, is that I am probably half way between the two sourcing strategies. I don't just sell shoes but I also wouldn't buy as many shoes as you do, as I want to avoid as much cleaning as possible. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I love sourcing videos.
Hi! Do you know if Heely's sell without the wheels?
How long will it take all these shoes to sell?
On the debate of shoe business models, I think it depends on your goal with reselling. If you resell on the side for some extra cash, the higher ROI + lower time investment is often the better option. But you're right, it's not repeatable, so your business model is the better choice for someone relying on resale (which is proven by your success with this model).
Oh, another consideration is buy price due to location. The cheapest shoes will be at my Goodwill here in San Francisco is $9.99, but anything worth grabbing is $15-$20. So at that mark, it kind of limits me to the higher ROI shoes instead of the volume buying.
I think the biggest difference is you sell shoes a lot, if he’s new he doesn’t know all brands the same way. As well sellers like I am who do more than shoes, it takes a lot longer to learn good n bad shoes.
But also he may be one of those sellers who only sells items at $35 plus profits. 😊
Great Video
Dude I loved the video so proud of you
Appreciate you!!
How many sizes in youth shoes can also be womens?
Sharpie comes off with rubbing alcohol.
What stores is that ?
What sizes would you consider to be "good sizes" in both men's and women's shoes ?
Mens 9-13
Womens 7-10
@@DealingWithDalton Thank you !
I bought all my Crocs on EBay in my size which is a 3 youth!
Comfortable for this grandma! I have 6 pairs!
Awesome haul! Do you clean all of the pre owned shoes?
If they need it!
Great video! Questions: Have you come across an accurate Size Conversion Chart for Mens, Womens and Childrens? I printed off a few that would give US, UK, EU & AU sizes, but neither matched the sizes. Not sure which is correct.
Also, how do you figure out the size comparisons from childrens to womens? I heard you mention in the video how you sell some childrens shoes with a womens size comparison. Thanks! ~Wendy
You need to be looking up brand specific size charts. That will help answer both of your questions
@@DealingWithDalton Thanks Dalton! I appreciate it!
question.... do you still sell shoes that have an inner hole (in the lining) at the toes? I have a pair that looks excellent except for this inner hole.
I typically pass on anything with holes/tears
@@DealingWithDalton yeah, I need to add "stick your hand deep into both shoes" to my shoe check list. lol
Always love your videos. Yes I do the same go straight to women n then men. I learned brands from u thank u. friends tell me I should have shoe store. Lol.
Great job picking up all those shoes bro.
🙏🙏
I definitely would do 5x profit for 5x work. I mean that's how you grow and be successful. And you learn more what works for you. However, if he's new, perhaps Capital or storage is an issue, so maybe he only picks up what sells for a quick profit for him.
Dang transfers all goodwill shoes back home.
123 pairs total. I have found most women will walk away when a man walks in the female shoe section. I would take more shoes and work more to cut my cost down of travel time and gas. I do enjoy the sourcing vids. It helps in understanding a good quality and styles to be on the look for other than Nike.
I only go for hype shoes
I think around 90to 110
The reselling goat, ladies and gents
Ayyyyy
I have a question, I'm new into shoe reselling, there is a amazon liquidation store right down the road and they sell brand new shoes out of the original box, asking $35-$40 a pair but comps look like 120-150 each is this good enough as a reliable thrifting source
If I find shoes for $40 that are selling for $120 I will do that all day
That's a great source if you could get 10 pairs for 400 and getting 1200 back minimum.,especially if you could do that once a week that's a honey hole 😋 but double check on condition flaws and at first the best sizes that sell quick and keep it a secret , there's alot of people on the prowl hunting and wishing for honey holes like that . Best of luck
4090?
I say 156 pairs 😁👍
My guess - 107! You decided to buy some Go Pro batteries! lol :) Back when I was in junior high school, all the cool guys and surfers dudes wore desert boots. Can't you take things back and get your money back or a credit? And couldn't you ask for a price match on the two that had different prices? You do realize you are doing what most every woman dreams of - spending $1,000 in one day on shoes!!!
I could do those things, but I don’t😂 call it me being lazy idk🤷♂️ I’m making my money, I’m happy lol
Hey Dalton - what’s your deodorizer of choice for funky kicks?
I’ll be honest, I don’t really ever use one. I typically leave smelly shoes behind
Longer style
Maybe 103?
But, that won't be his business model when he gains experience.
Don't judge. Next time, help him with your wisdom. He's new & feeling his way around the store. You're a better person "WHEN HELPING OTHERS".🙏🙏🙏🙏
I had a full conversation with the guy. I wasn’t judging him. Stop judging me😂😂
First time watching you. I would focus more on you do you rather than picking what you think are faults in others. Both "buisness models" as you call them are actually very similar. Except you got a lot more cleanin to do. Oh and the vivid... maby they would have noticed that and saved money. Seems a wee bit cocky.
Wait… are you picking what you think are faults in me?🤔
You kinda were raging that someone else got into a shop before you after watching a lot of your videos this is the first time I’ve heard contempt FOOL just do what you do and remember you didn’t get up early enough fs

I would say when you are a new reseller you are kind of forced to be selective because you don’t have an audience
I’m curious what audience you’re referring to
@@DealingWithDalton just basically if I was to start selling, my shop wouldn’t have as many visits as yours. And I wouldn’t have as many sales and good reviews, which people take into consideration, so it would have to be an item for example brand new hokas, that people look to eBay for rather than something on the lower end like croc Sandles. That’s just my opinion though, I love the videos!
@@DealingWithDalton people that watch your UA-cam also know they can trust you
@@Peak_93 okay that makes sense, just wanted to make sure you weren’t referring to a UA-cam audience, because a lot of people think that sales come from UA-cam and for me at least it’s virtually none
@@DealingWithDalton definitely a misconception , have a good night!
