FUNFACT: At the same time of the third final between Fallon and Deta, in Gibraltar the match MVG-Cross was played. That match ended 6-3 to MVG with averages of 100.2 vs 92.7. At that same moment the score between Fallon and Deta was 3-1, with Fallon on an average of 110 and Deta on 99! The match ended 5-3 to Fallon with Fallon on 97.0 vs 91.6. Mvg and Cross have been world champion in the last five years so this shows that investing in the womens game and make sure that they will be more consistent to produce these kind of darts is a great thing for darts as a sport and for darts as a TV product. Something the PDC could consider is adding a small mixed tournament with free choice (not selected per country) for 4, 8 or 16 mixed teams. Last week Fallon threw 6 out of 7 doubles in the first part against MVG. That would be fun in such a match. It also creates new attention to the great great game of DARTS.
Yeah the reason that women aren't as good is that human beings tend to rise to expectations. Since they don't have the same visibility and expectations in a separate league, they aren't pushed to be better. It's just like how players from my country (USA) aren't as good as European and UK players. It's just how it is. And until they get over there and qualify in greater numbers, it won't really happen for the USA.
I dont konw the fancy name for it, but the top 2 women from this weekend (i think or a similar event) will go forward to take part in the "men's" world series (or something like that. That is how Fallon became famous, as the first woman ever to beat a man at a world championship game. She won 2 rounds and then lost the first time. Recently she took part in a Dutch championship where she was the only woman. She came 2nd, losing to MVG.
Hats off to Fallon...won 2 out of 3 her only loss was to the only woman that holds a PDC tour card. Impressive and her averages were right up there. 97 for the last one not sure about the first 2.
Lisa is an impressive female player for getting her tour card in between all the male players and winning some challenge tour as well so Gooooooo Lisa "thelancashirerose" ashton
@john laroche Lisa is better than Fallon believe me but Lisa needs to get just a little more consistent . But wait one year and Lisa and Fallon will make lots of male players blush because they lost against the top 2 female players for sure But they have to play more first for a entire year and then they will surprise us in a good way
I think Sherrock will win a PDC major or a non ranking event sooner rather than later. She’s a brilliant player, can certainly hold her own and she’s definitely loved by the fans. I’d like to see it eventually become a mixed sport, hopefully we’ll see more players have a chance earn their tour card at the Q-School tournament or invited to play at PDC events. Hopefully the Olympics is the next step with both individual and mixed team tournaments.
Glad the PDC is helping the ladies game big time. We're seeing the ladies (esp. the top ladies) closing in to the standard of the tour card holders, and I hope the environment that we're trying to provide for them will produce top ladies pros. To think of it, even though there's no advantage on being a man or woman when you're on the oche, I'd imagine the average environment in which darts is played is not necessarily very women-friendly (I don't play in pubs, I don't drink). I play online games, and even though on paper there's no gender advantage/disadvantage in games, the existing environments (especially online games) are very dude-oriented. Try speaking in voice chat if you're a woman, and 90% of the time it will be a mess.
The ladies standard is way behind tour car holders currently, bar Ashton and Sherrock. Check the averages on dart connect, they are way off at the moment, and that's being polite. But I'm sure it will improve. I welcome any girl who wants to play the game.
6 this weekend and 6 in a different weekend at the end of October. Winner of each weekend gets a place in the Grand Slam of Darts. After both weekends to top two in the order of merit get places to the World Championship
tomorrow another 3 events will be played just like today, who is 1st on the woman series order of merit from woman series 1 to 6 will go to the worlds and the grand slam. another 6 of these events will be played a other time and the best one from those 6 will also go to the worlds and the grand slam :)
I hate to bring it up, but why is it that we don't see much of the women's PDC action? I think it's apparent that they can quite literally play with the big boys.💪🎯
As none of them are in the PDC yet, only Lisa Ashton. They all have the same rights to play in the PDC, it’s just that none of them have gotten a tour card through Q-School yet, Lisa Ashton is the only one. The women have the EXACT same rights as the men do when it comes to professional darts! Hope that helped!
Technically more rights. As Lisa can qualify for world champs through the same way as everyone else or through the woman’s series. Her prize money from qualifying for the grand slam and world champs through non standard events could also help her retain her tour card. I love it though and like the current set up. If this system lets us see 1-3 woman in the pdc at most times I’m all for it over some guy struggling who barely got a tour card.
In the past the women's championships were mostly run by the BDO. The BDO, which was a competitor to the PDC went bankrupt. As they went bankrupt, so as not to leave women out of darts altogether (it makes bad PR) the PDC have created pretty much what the BDO did for women.
@@cliffhulcoopofficial8075 its kindov differnt pdc are creating routes for wman to qualify for pdc majors were as the bdo just had a seperate world champs
And please what ever you do ,don't forget what lisa already did and achieved for women darts . Because she was the first female player to win a tour card in the same competition as the male players . And was the first women to compete at the challenge tour . And especially don't underestimate Lisa Ashton when she is playing her A game, cause when lisa plays her A game , then you have to play almost perfect to beat her . Today she puts her A game on in event 1 and she beats Fallon 4-0 in the match (quarter final) , that normally should have been , and deserved to be the final!!! And she goes on and wins event 1. Some women really shouldn't be so unrespectful towards the players above , Because they made it possibly for you girls to even have tournaments the size of this one. made possibly by PDC so now the only way is up and let's hope that more good female players now get the confidence to start playing PDC with them . In the beginning you will loose plenty of matches , but when you keep going and don't stop one day you will beat them . Fallon is also a very good and talented . dartplayer , but I like Lisa more because of her playing style and her fighting spirit . But Fallon is very good as well , don't get me wrong . They are the 2 women and mikuru Suzuki to , who have placed darts for women on the map in PDC darts for the world . But Lisa and mikuru , then just don't like to be in the picture and on tv as much as Fallon does and that's why Fallon is more popular .
