Nemesis 2 (グラディウス2 Guradiusu Tsū, Gradius 2) is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game released for the MSX computer in 1987 by Konami. The game is a sequel to Nemesis, the MSX version of Gradius, but is unrelated to the arcade game Gradius II (which used the Roman numeral 'II'). This version was ported to the Sharp X68000 computer under the name Nemesis '90 Kai (ネメシス'90改 Nemeshisu ninetī kai), with some graphical and aural enhancements.
In a departure from other games, instead of controlling Vic Viper, the available ship is called Metalion. Unlike other titles, this game has a heavier focus on story, which is told by cut-scenes. The gameplay is mostly unchanged from the rest of the series, though there are some powerups that temporally gives the ship some enhancements. Also, when the bosses are being defeated, if the Metalion flies where they are, a mini-level can be accessed in order to obtain new permanent upgrades, if the mini levels are successfully cleared.

the soundtracks konami used are known nowadays, brilliant. i played it a lot as a kid, im 54 now..never forget i played this a lot...gg

The smooth scroll really works well in this “altered” version.

Fixing the scrolling seems to have affected the ship’s movement a bit. It still seems to be compensating for the choppy scrolling...
This is a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun). He used a lot of speedups on the ship (to a point that no human would normally handle). This is what causes the ship movement to be jumpy like that. Normally it isn't.
This is literally what happens when the Gradian Space force jacks up Burton with a bunch of crack and then sends him on his marry way in a ship that is capable of becoming stronger by absorbing bacterian/venom produced tech

That version is great - it seems the PSP version had something similar.

How do you apply the patch? It's not in IPS format, but in XPC. I tried using the program in command line, but it kept spitting out an error saying the xpc file couldn't be read, or something. This is the first time I've seen XPC as a format for patching, are there any programs that are easier to use for patching this format?
We need more enhanced with voicelines and psp version like graphics
The psp version graphically looked about the same as this. The version that truly looked better was the Nemesis 90'Kai version released for the Sharp X68000. There's another version, Nemesis 94', that updates the game graphically with no gameplay changes (i.e. only 2 options, multiple levels of laser) I'd just be happy with a version that had smooth scrolling AND english text.

@@AnonymousPhucker It is possible, but long and tedious when you have to run Stages 2 to 5 twice. I liked how it was handled in Nemesis 90 Kai
@@AnonymousPhucker Impossible? Back in 80's till begin 90's I used to play this game from start to finish (venom level) on a weekly base, mostly without loosing a life.
But i had a lot more time to burn back then 🤣
It’s hard. I’ve played this on the Sega Saturn, and I can’t get past stage 2. The hitbox is so big. The rank here is aggressive. More aggressive than Gradius III Arcade!

Clearly you cheated while playing this game. The movements are too perfect. Probably you slowed the game down. Which makes this play through pointless.
It says in the title that it is TAS (or tool assisted).
