    The cold air intake obviously adds a nice cool air sound, and that throttlebody spacer adds a very nice whistle to go with it. Good combo to have. I have the Holley Intech cold air intake and the AFE silver bullet throttlebody spacer.

    The cold air intake is what’s whistling… it whistles due to the manifold opening up. The spacer does nothing performance wise.

    Add a tuner like pedal or polsar it will make a difference

    I added a 90mm throttle body from BBK and I have this EXACT same whistle sound coming from the cold air intake. Is this normal?

    • @daviscowboy20
      @daviscowboy20  Рік тому +1

      I’m no car expert man, but I do know a cold air intake adds a good whistle, depending on the quality of the intake of course. And I do know that some throttle bodies have specific design that can cause that whistle. The silver bullet throttlebody spacer has a specific design that’s supposed to help with Air combustion and creates that whistle. But again I’m no expert and don’t know if it helps with airflow so much or not. My buddy has one on his truck and I absolutely loved how good the whistle was so I put one on my car. I had a couple people ask me if it was a turbo. Not very car savvy people, but if a nice whistle adds a good sound that makes people think it’s got some good upgrade that’s a plus for me. And again… I love the sound of the whistle every time I hit the gas.

      It is normal yes, the whistling you are hearing is the surge of air flowing over the throttle body blade at a specific angle causing the whistle. The same principle happens when blowing air over an angled reed for musical instruments. That whistle will only happen at certain loads when the throttle blade is at a certain angle, usually low part throttle.

    What does the throttle body space supposed to do?

    • @daviscowboy20
      @daviscowboy20  Рік тому +3

      Well… they say it helps airflow to the intake manifold. But it seems most people don’t believe that. One thing it does do for sure… Adds a very nice whistle sound that I absolutely love! And that’s the only reason I really got it.

      Throttle body spacers increase the amount of plenum air volume available to the intake. If you were to elongate the intake manifold runners, you would shift the power band for more torque. If you shorten them, you would shift the power band for more horsepower. By adding a spacer you are effectively increasing the manifold volume which shifts the power band for more low-end torque.

      @@carlosbenitez3619do you have to tune for that?

    • @carlosbenitez3619
      @carlosbenitez3619 8 місяців тому

      @@eevee4408 not necessarily, but everything you bolt on is cumulative. Your stock ECU is made to compensate the A/F plus or minus. So adding a cold air or exhaust usually doesn't tip it over the edge. Adding a spacer, new throttle body, exhaust, cold air, etc. Will eventually necessitate a new tune. Just a spacer alone usually does not require a new tune, however, a tune will make the most power out of it. Especially if your tuner knows the power band you are aiming for.

      @@chetgoodenough8749 only makes you look like a giant dumb ass when you try to dictate when someone else wastes their money or not… If I bought this throttlebody spacer thinking it was going to be great performance gains, I could understand you giving me shit. But when I specify I bought it because of the nice sharp whistle it adds that I absolutely love, and you still try to say it was a waste of my money? Again… Makes you like a giant dumb ass. Not saying I’m rich but at the same time, $100 isn’t that much to me and EASILY worth it adding that nice whistle.
