In Canada you would have to make sure the internal filler is up to temp because of the meat juice same goes for stuffing a turkey. I would still love to eat one of these burgers pink if safe meat handling is practiced. 😋✌️
Here’s a killer 1950’s style 1000 island type burger sauce: •Mayo •Yellow mustard •ketchup •sweet relish •cream horse radish •organic onion powder •Lawry’s dehydrated garlic powder (with the tiny parsley mixed in) •dash hot sauce I didn’t include measurements because everybody likes it a little different but if you play with those ingredients and let the sauce chill in a glass bowl for at least 30 minutes your burgers (grilled or smash please) will sing. I like mine short on ketchup and mustard so it’s a lighter orange but if you like more go for it. The cream horse radish is the secret ingredient 🫶🏼
Maybe a bad take, but I've never enjoyed putting cheese in before cooking- all the good stuff just melts out along the way. Better to add at the end (and enjoy the texture and flavor as a separate component).
This guy gets it. I once made one with a pound of bison, prosciutto, great cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. [Edit: I used a maple frosting donut for the bun. How I forgot to mention that is beyond me.] It was the best burger my (now ex) wife ever had.
Fun fact: The now famous “Juicy Lucy” originated mid1950s, from Matt’s bar in south Minneapolis, (3500 cedar Ave) MN. 5-8 club says they first created the burger with cheese but both grills are closely located on Cedar Avenue, and both serve and we’re the first restaurants to offer those tasty juicy hot burgers. ✌🏽
I grew up in MN. Juicy Lucy is like tourist food. Nothing special about it. Just melt some real cheese on your burger and it tastes a lot better, less mess and work.
I prefer to spend time mixing the seasonings into the ground beef BEFORE you form your patties. That way the whole burger is seasoned all the way through, not just a few sprinkles on top.
@redlightz420 it was oozing out the side before it made it to the burger. Also a well know fact of the Lucy burger is it needs to rest about 2 minutes. The cheese inside is molten, if you bite in right off the grill, 3rd degree burns in your mouth
When I was in Germany they put cheddar cheese in a ground meat ball and cooked over an open wood fire on a grill that could swing and spin at the same time they were great tasting
I'm guessing that was mayo (Duke's from the yellow lid), worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, sriracha, roasted shallots, and roasted garlic. Not totally sure about the worcestershire or shallots, but the rest is right.
@@mattusapparatus5968 I think the classic Huy Fong sriracha is that thin if you can find it. I know we've had a shortage lately, though I saw some in Walmart for the first time the other day. The copycats I've bought (like the bottle of "Sriraja" I got from the Asian grocer) have been thicker. Good luck!
Just a good 'ol Juicy Lucy! SAFETY TIP - Make sure the cheese / filling is as room temperature. If the cheese is cold right out of the ridge, the middle meat may not cook all the way. Especially if you are putting in that many cheese slices.
Wouldn't it just be a whole lot easier to mix some finely chopped onion, egg, garlic and herbs into the mince when making the patties? These 'sauces' seem like a mixed bag where one flavour cancels another to some extent.
I love how you smash the burgers and how you put the cheese in the middle of them and then made another topping of the burger and then I love how you did that garlic absolutely phenomenal and amazing can't wait to try this.
A juicy lucy! Been making these for years after seeing them on man vs food although i use a different slice of cheese on top. surprisingly enough its the girls that seem to polish them off.
That's what I call an inside-out burger. I've done this for years. Gruyère cheese is amazing on the inside. Or 1.5 slices of american and mozzarella. You gotta make sure the edges are sealed well unless you like crispy cheese 🧀 edges around your burger 🍔 then that's up to you.
Yes, yes please i will definitely have that!!! And gravy for my fries please thank you!!!. My friggin mouth started watering like a bloody dog for its treat! 😂😂😂😂
That Onion ruins the whole thing if it were put on my burger but he did a great job with everything else. Those Brioche buns he used are an excellent choice. I’ve used them before and he did a great job assembling that burger so it would stay together.Great job with everything. Now I want one too.
Makes me hungry just looking at this
One good thing about a burger like this is, you don't have to worry about it not being done in the middle. Because the middle isn't burger.😊
🤦♂️
Or if your American. They ask how you want your burger cooked......my answer is cooked not pink?

Chess, not Checkers
I eat my burgers like my steak rare !!!
Grilling the onion like that changes everything.
We call that a game changer 🙌
I'll do onions like that with a single, fat ass mushroom top. 🤌
Oh man your Killin me I'm starving now
I'm stuffed and I'd smash that burger right now😂

Sir...THANKS SooOOOoooOOo Much for that RECIPE!!
I will definitely give it a try 🤗
Just tell us the measurements. I’m useless at trying to guess at these things.
I can tell your a woman by your words And also your an awesome person Love yoj
why it need to be organic? American recipes are so dum
That looks REAL GOOD 🤤🤤
Just Lucy is great and all, but fry it coated with batter. That is the top tier way to have a burger
Smashed and Baconed
Maybe a bad take, but I've never enjoyed putting cheese in before cooking- all the good stuff just melts out along the way. Better to add at the end (and enjoy the texture and flavor as a separate component).
I tend to agree with you, but the way this is done does look particularly impressive.
This is a juicy lucy
TOTALLY agree. While we’re at it please no onion in the pattie’s and none of that awful onion soup mix either
@@behindthespotlight7983Sounds like you just don’t like onion lol
Couldnt disagree more. Bubbas cheddar bacon burgers are freakin amazing.
Juicy Lucy

I once had a Juicy Lucy from Matt’s Bar in Minneapolis. It was freaking awesome.
Mpls. Home of the juicy lucy. Nothing like molten hot cheese dripping down your face because you couldnt wait to bite it.
I always thought it was a Jucy Lucy, not a Juicy Lucy?
@@maddoctor99 im sure your right. I have the education of a 5th grader.

Matts is the best by far. Served with McDonalds fries cooked the right way as well

great grocery store brioche choice!
Brioche for a hamburger ? Already lots of sugar in several ingredients... This is not pastry
This is indeed a Juice Lucy. It inspires intimate feelings.
Juicy Lucy?🙄
@@JoeyB31208Burger Factory uses that, as the name of one of their burgers.
Small chain of 20ish stores in Southern Ontario.
I haven't had a juicy Lucy since my college years
was coming here to say exactly this. Nice to meat a fellow burger enthusiast
LMFAO LOL GOOD COMMENT LOL
Thanks for showing me the end result at the beginning, i don't need to watch the rest now.
Great, i need two grills.
You should give me those for safekeeping. I promise I won’t eat all of them instantly, just most of them.
DAMN, THOSE BURGERS LOOK SO DELICIOUS
Dude.... got to use a toothpick in the top to release the pressure, that will stop it seeping out the sides
I think he wants it to seep out the sudes
Screw the toothpick! That burger wouldn't last 35 seconds!
@redlightz420 it was oozing out the side before it made it to the burger.
Also a well know fact of the Lucy burger is it needs to rest about 2 minutes. The cheese inside is molten, if you bite in right off the grill, 3rd degree burns in your mouth
Add 1slice portobello mushroom grilled and delete that mayo add A1
On behalf of brother Earl....
"give me piece" matter fact, i want the whole thing 🤤
I would get on my hands and knees and crawl for that burger
😂😂 weird
Season the outside after cooking, pepper burns even at a low heat, salt will pull the juices out, you want them in.
I would have chopped up some fresh charred jalapeños to put inside the patty pocket or whatever it's called :)
Jiiuytre jiuygf.
Why do you squeeze the juices out of the burger? What doesn't go in your mouth is supposed to run down to your elbow.
Shoulda put a bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapeño.... swear to you it's the best thing EVER to put on a burger.
Are you insane? Get some help.

😭😭😭 I’m soooo hungry watching this!
Need to share ingredients. Like in the sauce what is that second brownish substance. Not talking bout worchester or ketchup neither.
Caramelized onions then roasted garlic
Brownish stuff is probably worcestershire sauce
That first brown liquid may be soy sauce
The one thing that would make that burger a little better is instead of that cheese stuff, put some good blue cheese in there.
Although I don't eat pork that method looks right! Great out come!
Variation on the Classic Juicy Lucy
Absolute Money !!
The moment you smashed it, the beef was ruined.
Now that is a very well cooked burger! I love a medium rare steak but not a medium rare burger! 10/10
Juicy Lucy! Invented in Minneapolis Minnesota
Best burger ever!! Looks amazing!!!! 😋❤🍔

Gee, a hamburger. What a novel idea.
It's a constipation ritual, After 2 Slices of Cheese, my boy.
Try it with ham and cheese in the middle instead of bacon. Best bugers I ever made as a cook. I called it the "Cordon Blurger".
That burger should prevent a hangover
This burger is called a juicy lucy. Ate then all the time in Minny.
I wish I had known about the diner and the famous Ukrainian deli when we were in n Minneapolis years ago.Guy Fieri loved both places.
