I was about to get another ps2 just to play FFXII again, until I found the revised version on the lite. When you are on the road, the portable gaming saves so much clutter.
The only issue I have with the Switch Lite is the lack of clamshell ability. It was a thing we had consistently in Nintendo handhelds from the SP up to the first 2DS (that also didn't make sense to me) and that they brought back with the New 2DS. I don't hey why they removed that feature again. I do like the idea of the home console and dedicated handheld having the same cartridges for once
I have the HORI "clamshell" system protector on my Lite. It, has just enough "bump-grip" that makes the Lite very comfortable; for my big hands. The whole thing fits nicely in my tomtoc, case; that goes into my daypack. Good combo!
Am I the only person who really likes table top mode and REALLY LIKE the standard switch grip controller? Edit: the switch grip controller is trash I just bought a pro controller itsssssssss soooooo worth it!!!!

Fair enough, but most Switch third party games look like ass on a big screen. I had the OG switch and almost never played it on docked mode for that reason.
I literally just ordered a switch lite today. I found my old PSP and had forgotten what it was like to actually have a handheld be a handheld. Not sure what I'm going to do with my OG yet.
@@theo4643 you can emulate systems, get any switch game free, and install android OS to stream ps4 games (or your pc games). Can also install pc mods for skyrim switch edition. I have a lite and debating on ordering the upcoming mod chip or just get an og switch to mod
I used my boyfriend's switch for a month and I hated it. I was planning on reselling my ACNH because I wouldn't play it anymore, until my sister convinced me to try the switch lite. I LOVED IT. It was a better fitting for me personal preferences. I hate playing on TV and hate huge electronic devices, I'm all about travel sizes. If I'm gathering with my friends I'd just use my command pro and that's it.
I'm in the same boat, I have both but almost always use my lite. It's more conformable, and looks gorgeous. And the buttons feel better on the hands in a majority of games
Just ordered a grey one yesterday and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe/Link's Awakening are gonna be my first two games. I can't wait to see what the fuss is about lol.
I love the Switch Lite, it’s the perfect size for me and it feels solid. The regular switch never felt super portable. it was almost risky. The Lite, i literally put in my pocket and take off. I only wish it could be easier to transfer save data my next move is a modded console, which i will make happen soon.
That’s what I love about my Switch Lite. It’s portable, colorful and light. I’ve always been more into handheld games so I don’t care about the regular Switch for playing on the TV. That’s what my PlayStation 4 is for, LOL. Thanks for your thoughts!
I watched many videos saying save your money buy the Switch..I got that last year for the house. But since we are inside and I wanted to play Animal Crossing so I bought it. The minute I sat down everyone one wanted to play Mario Kart so I couldn’t veg out the way I wanted to. So the next day I got Smash Bros for the family and a Switch Lite for myself and I a LOVING it! At the end of the day it’s really down to you as the user..
I'm just not a huge TV person - I KNOW that if I got a regular Switch I would maybe play it docked a handful of times just to try it out but aside from that I'd probably use it handheld 100% of the time - I'm the kind of person who will sit in the sofa, in front of my TV (which is internet connected and has Netflix), watching Netflix...on my laptop. My friends aren't really into console party games - we play boardgames, sometimes we'll play Jackbox (which I already have on PC). So for me, there's nothing about getting a regular Switch over the Switch lite that's worth the extra money - ESPECIALLY considering that based on my country's pricing + getting my Switch Lite on sale, getting a regular Switch would have cost almost double what I paid for my Switch Lite.
Decided on the Switch Lite from the moment it was announced. My brother got the Switch when it got the updated internals, and kept telling me every so often about getting a regular switch instead of the light. My main games have become Pokemon, Mario Kart 8 and hopefully soon Mario Maker 2. Do I regret not getting a regular switch? Sometimes; when I go to a friends house or such and having a switch to dock and play Smash or Kart could be awesome. i still love the lite, it works great for me because of the need for a portable gaming console. I have moved from a PS4 to a Razer Blade 15 to play my big AAA games, and the switch is more like the secondary console for Nintendo games and on the go when I travel. For the time being, I am not sure if I can recommend a switch lite to someone as their main console, it is easier to do so if this is going to be their secondary one.
I love switch lite so much more than the regular switch. The only issue I have with it is the potential of it drifting. Haven't had problems so far tho
Bought my Switch Lite about a week ago. I love it so far! No problems yet. It has a good battery life, and feels good in my hands. The only thing that I’m worried about is joy con drift. Hopefully that doesn’t happen. So what if it is cheaper and doesn’t actually switch. It is still an amazing system.
You might be able to get a protection plan for your Switch, I know best buy does it, even after you purchase. If you get joycon drift you can just exchange it for another switch without having to wait on repairs....and thankfully the Switch Lite is way easier to find and replace than a regular switch.
I had a regular switch but in the 18 months I had it I think I used it docked 3 or 4 times. That’s it. I swapped to a lite and I far prefer it. Just feels better in the hands to me. Battery life for me is fine, I get about 4 hours on Zelda. I love the lite. I got the yellow - it’s awesome!
I’m getting a lite for my birthday next month because I’ll be using it for handheld gaming only. And I liked the all in one system. I have my series x and ps5 on the main tv and gonna use my switch for handheld gaming on the go for some good old Mario.
I put over 400 hours on my switch lite. Haven’t had drift yet... hopefully don’t jinx myself. Lol I hardly play my OG switch. Although I prefer BOTW on my big screen.
I never had any drifting issues with any portable console but my og switch has started drifting it’s really annoying Nintendo really need to sort the drifting issues out
I´m a really casual player- I don´t want a bunch of wild features or to play on a TV. I really just want something relaxing and fun for downtime, and since I´m an introvert, downtime usually means by myself. Also, I love simplicity and aesthetics. I think the regular switch is ugly, but boy does the lite look cute. Although I´ve noticed lots of people commenting on the battery life, I think I should be okay with it because I don´t plan to play for long stretches of time, or even play games that should suck up lots of battery. Plus, I do want to save 100 bucks. Thanks for your review, you´ve really helped me make my decision.
Watching this during a break at work and my colleague went, 'Switch Lite? Oh your GameBoy.' Made me smile, because that pretty much sums it up. I've already got a PS4 for HD graphics and don't need a second home console. I -want- a dedicated handheld. Kevin gets it. #turquoisegangwhereyouat
Right here brother i literally feel the same way I also have a ps4 i mean you think when doom eternal comes out in March I'm gonna play it on switch lite hell no it's nice you can but a game like deserves a big screen and a dedicated controller
I sold my standard Switch and bought the Lite. Have not looked back- beautiful system, far more comfortable in handheld, dpad, no sliding joycons, better looking etc... I much prefer the Lite. I have a PS4 for console gaming anyway, Razer 15 laptop for PC gaming and I wanted another pure handheld to go with my PS Vita.
I love the Switch Lite, its a very pretty console, i decided to buy one instead of a full Switch and i don't regret it, after all i'm still having a PS4 for Home console gaming.
Even if I could afford a OG Switch, I'm in college and there's not a lot of space in my room for my T.V, much less my XBOX. I hardly use either unless it's the weekends or when I don't have class or work. Also, I don't really play games with... Other people? Lol. On top of that, I'm so used to a primary handheld (had almost ever iteration of the DS) that docking the switch isn't even a big thing for me. The dock would literally collect dust. Also... The OG Switch is... So big that using it in handheld mode doesn't even feel like a handheld to me. Also I have small hands and just want the Switch Lite in Pink 🌸
Man your editing is the main reason I follow your channel. The cuts of you actually showing off and holding the product is super helpful to gauge the size. (ps: I have my yellow switch lite, in love.)
I couldn't just go for a Lite. I like the fact you can play it on a TV too. Mario Odyssey looks far better on a big TV so you can appreciate everything.
To each his own but it sounds like you’re trying to sell yourself on liking the switch lite over the regular switch. I agree with you on many things like price. There’s so much value that comes with that extra $100, at least for me. I don’t dock it often either but it’s really nice when I do. Either way, you do you bro.
I'm a regular! however I never use dock, I just like the idea my controllers can be replaced separately from the Switch, that's what drew me to buy one in the first place!
But if you still dont have any car, and want one that can only drive which will also cost you less, wont it make sense to buy that one? thats the purpose of the switch lite in my eyes - for people who still dont have their system and know they are only interested in handheld mode, it makes much sense to buy it. and with the 200 dollars they saved they can buy a game or two as a nice bonus
I think its smart only if you hadnt bought the car that could drive and fly first. If you alreadly did, then its dumb and a waste of money to buy the one that only drives.
I'm a nostalgic .. in the lite version I see the nintendo philosophy in all its beauty and purity. playing on the move like when I was a child is all I asked for.
늑대 I agree so much. Nintendo was always a company for the inner child in us adult gamers as well as actual children. So with the lite, you see that classic Nintendo heart and soul. Especially with the bright colors.
Other than being bit more comfortable, there's no real reason to get a Switch Lite. Og Switch does everything the switch lite does but better. $100 more for the dock and other og exclusives are totally worth its price
I think it depends on who is gonna use it. If you are a kid and you're not allowed on the tv, or doesn't have the money, get the lite. If you are a casual gamer and know that you never gonna dock it, get the lite. If you already have a Xbox/Ps and only want a switch for Nintendo exclusives, maybe get the lite. If you are a parent and just don't have the money for a switch (or don't want the switch on the tv), get the lite. Or if you wanna buy a switch for all your kids, get them lites. There is a place for the lite, but I agree that for 100 euro extra you'll get a lot more.
I have both. I’m on the bus for 4 hours every day, but the switch was too large to take. Switch lite fits in pocket on top of my lunch bag, so I can play it on bus but people at work don’t know I have it.
When the switch lite came out, I felt salty. It was the same price as my 3ds xl (not the new one) and the whole point of purchasing the switch was so that I had a portable console. That said, I think the switch worked out better for me this year because I bought a small stand with 4 usb plugs along with a charger plug, and I play smash and Mario Kart with my friends all the time.
I'm glad your using a switch lite, because I have to use one because my parents can't afford the normal switch, just showing people that the switch lite is still a good console
If you have a family go with both. If you only need a nintendo fix and also own a pc or ps4, go with the lite. If you travel all the time and only really like handheld games, go with the lite.

@@Ravathiel they don't exist on the lite...
@@Ravathiel never had a problem with my joycons. Maybe one day, I'll experience drift.
@@MarkKoschwitz not yet.
The lite is still young. Even its it's a few years later, something will happen with the stick. And you're screwed.
Sooner or later.
I love the switch lite because playing on the go is awesome and i just love the smaller console it could be since i'm used to the game boy and the ds
Mushroomstamp lol you’re so fucking salty bro, the Switch was only ever good as a portable, it’s a shit tier home console. The Lite is just a completely focused and optimized device to do the one thing the Switch did great but better, stay mad.
I was about to get another ps2 just to play FFXII again, until I found the revised version on the lite. When you are on the road, the portable gaming saves so much clutter.
Felix Hey but do the joysticks drift?
Nintendo should have made a $300 Lite with 3DS/DS card slot🤔🤔
Jimmy Lopez and with joysticks that don’t drift unless that has been fixed as I have the the og switch
Glad to see you finally saw the light.
I love my switch lite. I really couldn’t afford a regular switch so a cheaper more portable option was the best for me
I have the HORI "clamshell" system protector on my Lite.
3:02 that gameboy colourway is so epic! Would like to see that one in stores
Yeah, no. I like being able to “switch”. To each their own.
Its basically 2 consoles in 1 with immediate cross progression
fair
I only ever use docked mode to play xenoblade2
I play Docked every once in a while but its just nice having the option to play Docked, Handheld or Tabletop. I have a 4th way with Lets Go/SwSh with 1 joycon, i just wish GameFreak utilized the ZL/ZR buttons to move the camera in the Wild Area.:/
Check the serial number, see if you can jailbreak it?
I think I'm gonna sell my v1 and get a v2 limited edition tbh :p
@@randomdude5070 ohhh yes then u can get all games free and like PS4 games right?
@@theo4643 you can emulate systems, get any switch game free, and install android OS to stream ps4 games (or your pc games). Can also install pc mods for skyrim switch edition. I have a lite and debating on ordering the upcoming mod chip or just get an og switch to mod
Holy shit it's not patched lol. I'm not really interested in the whole emulation scene either. Probably just gonna sell it for a good amount of money.
I got myself a switch lite for Christmas. I love it!
Idk why but I somehow regret getting the normal Switch instead of the Lite. It’s also uncomfortable as hell and a little too big for me :(
👌
;)
makxyala maybe because they prefer handheld...which is why the lite exists...
@makxyala lol u mad.
2 years later and I'm still deciding if I should get a normal switch or lite
I love the Switch Lite, it’s the perfect size for me and it feels solid.
The regular switch never felt super portable. it was almost risky. The Lite, i literally put in my pocket and take off.
I only wish it could be easier to transfer save data
my next move is a modded console, which i will make happen soon.
That’s what I love about my Switch Lite. It’s portable, colorful and light. I’ve always been more into handheld games so I don’t care about the regular Switch for playing on the TV. That’s what my PlayStation 4 is for, LOL. Thanks for your thoughts!
Drifted to Switch Lite.
Suite Life of Dio Brando lol joycon drifted
^_________^
No just no
Well played sir
@@stoopiddudz2634 you got a switch, if you do you would understand the drift part lmao
This video format makes it just look like a complete ad. Really weird to interview yourself.
k
I'm getting a Switch lite because I already have a PS4 and want it just to play Animal Crossing 😂
Loveunit yess that’s I want the lite cause I already have a console and have no use for dock
I loved animal crossing for about a month. Then I realised that it is not my type of game and that I suck at it, so then I got 100% on odyssey
I love switch lite so much more than the regular switch. The only issue I have with it is the potential of it drifting. Haven't had problems so far tho
* before using *
Me: why! The hell Nintendo did This!
* after using *
Also me: hmm.... nice.
Same! On paper, switch lite is meh. But it’s so much better in handheld than a switch
A C Thank you for your advice! I appreciate it!
Laura Hughes why did you touch you’re cousin
Bejar03 omg lol. All I can tell you is was it worth it? No it wasn’t.
Being a console player I chose the lite because if I’m home I have other consoles I’d rather play, so I only use my switch when I’m not home.
This is so unintentionally The Office in style. David Brent on consoles.
Yeah, I don’t see the Swtich Pro controversy. And I won’t choose Switch Lite because I love TV mode.
6:03 I saw what you did there, Kevin.
Lol
I hardly play my OG switch. Although I prefer BOTW on my big screen.
I never had any drifting issues with any portable console but my og switch has started drifting it’s really annoying Nintendo really need to sort the drifting issues out
Breath of the Fild?
The Runaway Kid Yeah, the worst part is you can just switch out the joy-con.
Livewafflez. Whoops typo, meant BOTW.
The one game I like to play on the big screen, BOTW
It's literally grab and go.
I love it.
Watching this during a break at work and my colleague went, 'Switch Lite? Oh your GameBoy.'
Made me smile, because that pretty much sums it up.
I love the Switch Lite, its a very pretty console, i decided to buy one instead of a full Switch and i don't regret it, after all i'm still having a PS4 for Home console gaming.
damn he turned this into a whole interview
Same, I really don’t care for the the OG. I’d rather have the Lite and if I do decide to get the OG I can sell my Lite and buy the OG
Next vid:
I need to go to surgery because the switch lite deformed my hands
Man your editing is the main reason I follow your channel. The cuts of you actually showing off and holding the product is super helpful to gauge the size.
(ps: I have my yellow switch lite, in love.)
Regular switch all the way! I can’t give up that HD rumble
Yep, totally agree. Did the same thing (and same colour) but have held onto my original Switch. Best of both worlds.
I couldn't just go for a Lite. I like the fact you can play it on a TV too. Mario Odyssey looks far better on a big TV so you can appreciate everything.
I always find it funny how you produce your videos as interviewing yourself like a game dev.
I agree I don’t get why so many people just have out right hate for the lite and get down on people who prefer the lite
I love Nintendo switch lite bc it is liter and it fits in my pocket and it fits perfectly in my hands as well
All I want is a lime green switch lite
i was literally thinking the same thought as the beginning the second that this was uploaded
I'm a regular! however I never use dock, I just like the idea my controllers can be replaced separately from the Switch, that's what drew me to buy one in the first place!

Woah holy shit! Weird to see something I made show up on a youtuber's channel I regularly watch (@3:02)
Thanks for the shoutout!
Imagine, you have a car, that can drive and fly. And because you don't fly with it very often, you buy a new car, that only drives.....
Me: WHAT?!
The Switch is the Hummer that kills gas, but u need for big groups...
The Lite is the Tesla 2 seater that lasts longer and is easier to park...
@JamievsJamie why?
Imagine buying a car that also flies. But you can't fly. Makes sense.
Smaller and more portable. The way it feels is so much better than the original switch its hard to go back for me. Also has a real d pad.
I don't want to dock it. Use it only in handheld. Switch Lite more comfortable and portable. The extra $100 would be a downgrade for me.
sly2792004 hahahah I’m glad you never have to wear ladies jeans 😅
When the switch lite came out, I felt salty. It was the same price as my 3ds xl (not the new one) and the whole point of purchasing the switch was so that I had a portable console. That said, I think the switch worked out better for me this year because I bought a small stand with 4 usb plugs along with a charger plug, and I play smash and Mario Kart with my friends all the time.

German Lopez Jr yeah but do the joysticks drift? They have on my og switch it’s very frustrating
The Runaway Kid I haven’t experienced that
I'm glad your using a switch lite, because I have to use one because my parents can't afford the normal switch, just showing people that the switch lite is still a good console
Its the exact same console, with certain featues missing
Ordered the New Horizon Edition Switch yesterday, so excited! It’s coming in a few days!!! 😨😭 so glad I was able to get a hold of one
I am getting a swich lite for Christmas 🎄
If you have a family go with both. If you only need a nintendo fix and also own a pc or ps4, go with the lite. If you travel all the time and only really like handheld games, go with the lite.
