I don’t see the point of having a switch at home and a switch on the go because the regular switch was meant to eliminate that problem by being able to switch
Yeah but let’s be real. The OG switch IS a little too big to be considered truly portable. Why they did THIS is beyond me, it seems like they could have created an entirely new actual handheld that served that purpose better, but maybe they were all out of good ideas for the next few years and figured, “Eh, whatever. People will still buy this thing.” All said, I’m in for the switch lite as well as owning a docked switch.
lol yeah I highly doubt that is it. While it's hilarious to see some fruit squeezing a 3ds or another portable system in their skinny jeans I doubt that's the reason at all since my ps4 controllers always do the same shit I leave them on a safe area at all times. It's just wear and tear because items now a days are made to break down on purpose.
I never put my switch in my pocket, and bought a dedicated case for travel. My joycons have been drifting a while, and have finally hit the point the drift is too bad to work around.
@@WintrBorn yeah nintentdo built a flimsy ass joy stick on purpose. That in the pants pocket thing is retarded since that drifting shit happens on every platform lol.

TheQuiksilver101 if they announce a switch lite BOTW 2 theme one. I will pre order the fuck out of that switch lite instantly. Tho I would mainly use the OG switch 😂. Being a Zelda collector is my only problem lol.
I know it seems like a dumb extra console but it's good for if you have family members who use it. If you take the switch somewhere your family members can still play at home.
I resent the whole “the switch already isn’t comfortable” I know a lot of people say this. Or on the internet anyways. I honestly don’t think it’s that bad. And, yeah the lite might be more comfortable bc you lose most of the abilities. I’m not having parties every night, or even like many family Nintendo games or games you would play in groups. But the option is there. The switch isn’t just dedicated to handheld so of course it’s going to feel a bit off. It’s not supposed to be just dedicated handheld. So if you’re basing off just portability, yeah it’s great. But overall the minor (veryyyy Minor) inconveniences of the joy cons not being connected are worth it knowing I have multiple play styles. Slightly less comfortable than dedicated home console or dedicated handheld but very comfortable as both.
For anyone interested, the regular switch didn't load the game faster, the loading screen went away sooner on it but the world lit up faster for the switch lite. Either way there is legit no difference and I don't see why he had to say the reg switch was faster especially since it wasn't
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that guys can fit an ENTIRE SWITCH (lite) into their POCKETS, im out here struggling with chapstick while they carrying their backpacks in their pants
Something a lot of people overlook with the lite is the weight. I've been using my Switch Lite so much more than my launch Switch, because it's so much lighter. Even though it's a little more cramped, I find it more comfortable to use, because I don't have to hold it as tight as my original switch.
True but there are times where you have to read with the absence of voice acting. Such as game instructions, settings, inventory, and the books in the library. FE:TH's text size is incredibly small. Played it on both switch and switch lite and I found myself squinting so often.
Agreed , I waited two years for the switch lite to come out to get into being a Nintendo switch owner and between the heat issue Kevin demonstrated and the potential drift issue I’d rather just buy a new version regular switch with the good battery. Nintendo likes making stuff to break and we pay for repairs or replacements 😡
I have a OG launch switch but I’m getting a lite for pure portable. A few months after that I’m getting new OG Switch for docked play. (Need lite for portable because normal switch is way to fragile)
Have both the Lite and the OG Switch. I played 95% of the time in handheld anyway. If I wanna play a game on my TV, I’ll stick to my PS4..or easily send my save data to the OG Switch. The Lite is insanely comfortable, and the screen looks amazing. I don’t mind the half inch difference at all (that’s what she said). So far in a week I’ve been able to get around 4 hours of battery life during gameplay. I also love the way the new buttons feel, along with the D pad. Volume hasn’t been an issue either. All comes down to preference ya know? However personally, I absolutely love the Lite so far.
I've had the switch lite for a month and a half and I can say that you should just get the regular switch, while the lite is a great device, it sorely misses the dock mode, detachable controls and table-top mode playability.
The Lite would be *perfect* if it could be connectable to a dock. That fixes everything that it lacks due to the $100 price drop. You could use Joycons for the HD Rumble, IR camera etc.
The lite amazingly improves on the handheld side of the switch, but it's other side the home console side doesn't even exist. So we can call it half a switch can't we?
My birthday is coming up and I will get a switch lite. I want this because I don't have a enough money to buy a regular switch so this is a better option since i have a Wii u. This is much better cause I always go on road trips and plane rides so this is really good in my opinon.
Nah, the original 3DS was $170 eight years ago (actually opened at $250 before price cut) . Nintendo eight years later wouldn't lower the price on a more advanced unit.
@@thelionofthetribeofjudah9203 the launch of the Switch Lite in Japan placed second all time in the console revision category losing out to the 3DS XL in 2012, but beating out the PS4 Pro, New 3DS XL, and Gameboy Advance SP. It missed being 1st by approximately 10,000 units sold.
to me the lite suffers the same issue the 2ds suffers from and that is, why bother when the original model offers best of both worlds. strange since the switch is a hybrid system and now its not, so are they now gonna make a dedicted tv system version of the switch?
Had my Lite for a week now, first Switch for me. I love it! True upgrade from my "New" 3DS. Didn't have the OG so I can't compare to see how I feel in terms of portability. One thing I will pick out is that it does get warm when playing, thus causing the clammy hand feeling. I do hope a nice Grip will alleviate this problem.
I just got my Switch Lite a few days ago, and I'm in the same boat having upgraded from the "NEW" 2DS XL, and the only way could play it for long periods without it digging into my palms was with a grip shell, and I just ordered a grip for my Switch Lite off eBay, as it's almost the same story for me with it playing for more than 1/2 an hour, plus my thumbs start to hurt a bit as well.
@@RanLilly That second solution really isn't much of a solution because it pretty much defeats the entire purpose of a handheld system. Plus you also have to factor in that the Lite has not kickstand unlike its normal counterpart. It's clear that it was designed for handheld only and that being able to connect other controllers was just an extra/oversight depending on how you look at it. This whole system baffles me with how inept Nintendo can really be.
Spray on the edges of the thumbsticks with compact cleaner and dry it’s with cotton buds then spin it around for 1 minute and 30 seconds , also there is no possible way it’s gonna get broken because the air compressor is made for electronic devices, hope I helped :)
well in my opinion, you have 2 reasons to buy a Switch Lite, that is playing in handheld mode and not tv mode, and buy to your son or daughter if the other has already a regular one.
Owned both OG Switch and Lite and I gotta say the 2 biggest problems I have with it are 1. Obviously not being able to output video to a bigger display/TV 2. It’s as quiet as a mouse,it’s about as bad as one of those $29 androids actually even they are louder. There is a big noticeable difference in volume.
Why people not talking about this more, the volume on the Lite are way more quiet than the Normal Switch, even on the max volume it still hard to hear some games clearly.
Switch lite less comfortable than the regular switch??? I have both and the switch lite is most definitely easier to hold and handle, especially for long periods of time. And I have big hands too. This is literally the only video I have seen say it is less comfortable.
Nah dude, I've held one myself and it's way less comfortable to me. Biggest reason I think is because the joy cons had a bigger "platform" area under the buttons and sticks, which helped position my thumbs correctly more easily, whereas the lite makes it much harder to hit the buttons/sticks on the bottom (Requiring a lot repeated shuffling to reach the right "joy con's" bottom analog stick for example, which was much easier to do), since the "platform" underneath is much smaller. I think it's on par with the OG switch if you play simple games that don't require full access to the controller, like tetris or most 2D games, but any game that's even a little bit more complex, I bet I would cramp my hands much faster than on my current switch.
Thanks for the video, it did not changed my choice in any ways on my future purchase, but now I know better about the two consoles. And I'm 100% sure now that for me, I'll buy a Switch Lite and not a regular Switch. It's kinda "sad" that it doesn't have the tremble on it, but I'll still buy it.
this one is really tempting me, but I already own an OG Switch (not the 2019 version) and besides, its price here in my country is a bit too high but maybe, next year...
Personally I really love the lite, but I will probably sell it for a real switch because I don't really stay out of the house too long, and even playing in portable, I'd love a controller. again tho I fell in love with the lite, but I feel like at this point a lot of people hating on the lite remind me of the "pc master race" hating on console players. Just let people have fun their own way! They know the differences, they understand everything just fine, why is it so bad that someone doesn't care if they have the option to play on a TV or take the joycons off?? The purchase still goes to Nintendo and supports them to make more consoles, and the purchase doesn't do anything to you.
Recently I got the new -01 Switch. I can't see the $100 price difference to be worth it. You lose out on too much. The fact that you can easily detach the controllers for either TV play, 2 player play, or just general comfort if you use that dumb kickstand. Sure, you can buy joycons to play wirelessly with the Lite, but it still cant connect to a TV and you have now spent $270 to play with joycons, making it a *_$30 difference_* . I'm a console dude and love gaming on my Xbox One X, as it can play in 4K, but I rarely play on it nowadays because its not portable. That's why I like the switch, as soon as you are done on the tv, you switch to playing using the screen, or vice versa. *_the fact that you cannot connect the lite to a tv_* is far too much of a turnoff for me. The -01 switch also has better battery life and thermals. Maybe I'm being bias, but that's just my thinking. Anyways, thanks for listening and keep up the great work Edit: Spelling fixes
When the Switch Lite got announced, I considered buying it over the OG Switch but I'm glad I didn't. My brother convinced me to get an OG Switch because he told me: "Is it worth saving $100 for a Switch that you can't play on your TV and not having detachable controllers? You'll regret buying a Switch Lite 1-2 years from now" 3 weeks ago, I finally decided to buy the OG Switch and I'm so glad I went for the OG version. I've mostly been playing on portable mode but it's nice to have the option to play it on my TV and in kickstand mode. You're right, it's not worth saving $100 just to lose out on some aspects of the Switch that makes it a unique console in the first place.
Love this vids man, got a lite on day one, my first switch, only problem I find is that the intake vents for airflow is on back, so I set it down on my bed to go tend to my child and came back and it was HOT, so don’t block the vents lol! Great system tho!
Switch's selling point where the different modes, the switch lite is a WII U(Dont tell me it is not, when you think of it it is just a rebranded WII U that has the switch software,Which is mainly sequels to WII U games.)
my household has 3 switches from the first day it was released. 2 have had its usb-c ports repaired and replaced 2 pairs of joycons for drifting so i would say having joycons stuck on is crazy unless you dont really play it much

My best friend surprised me with a Nintendo Switch V2 as a birthday gift on Friday. I think he got tired of hearing me saying that I wish I had a Nintendo Switch lol. I don't have games though
The OG and V2 are for portibility along with everything else. The lite doesn't kick the og nor the v2 out of the portibility group at all. In fact, I've always found the og to be the perfect hand held device. Having the ps Vita for years, I always wanted a much larger device.
It seems that since the lite was released the so called switch fans have taken to bashing it to justify their purchase of a cheaper product! “It’s too heavy” “it’s uncomfortable” etc...I don’t recall anyone saying these things prior to the lite being released! The OG and V2 are fantastic, and I would never downgrade to the smaller screen myself, I have been wanting a handheld console without a tiny screen forever. The argument of it being too heavy is laughable, it’s lighter than a IPad ffs!! The lite is way overpriced for what it is, it’s almost as if most Nintendo fans are acting like the lite does something that the Og model doesn’t!! We have had a handheld device for playing switch games for the past two years.
@@Carfilliot I couldn't agree with this comment more. I almost thought I wrote it lol. The Switch OG and V2 are too legit to quit. I love my V2. It's my portable period point blank.

if you play portably, you'll realize quickly HD rumble is more annoying than enjoyable. HD rumble works better when joycons are separated from the switch
Yeah that is a big minus for me. I love the rumble. I even bought the rumble pak for the ds when it had it for the few games that supported it. I always wished the psp and vita had rumble and glad the OG switch does. This lite has way to many minuses. I traded my OG system in for the v2 better battery new large switch. 6-9 battery life with rumble, detachable joycons and TV hookup is worth it!
I got one of these and I love it. Screen size doesn't bother me and it feels really comfortable in my hand. I also own the original switch. Had a switch lite. Found myself wanting to dock it. Got my switch last week and having a blast. It’s all about what suits you.
So How many switch lite videos are you going to do?
Kevin: yes?
I brought the switch lite I was impressed by the size and how comfortable it was the original always felt too wide and the joycons were never sturdy

0:11 GUYS TO GET A SWITCH LITE SHAKE A SWITCH
For anyone interested, the regular switch didn't load the game faster, the loading screen went away sooner on it but the world lit up faster for the switch lite. Either way there is legit no difference and I don't see why he had to say the reg switch was faster especially since it wasn't
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that guys can fit an ENTIRE SWITCH (lite) into their POCKETS, im out here struggling with chapstick while they carrying their backpacks in their pants
I have a Nintendo Switch not lite and I could fit the whole thing in my pocket and there is still extra room
Something a lot of people overlook with the lite is the weight. I've been using my Switch Lite so much more than my launch Switch, because it's so much lighter. Even though it's a little more cramped, I find it more comfortable to use, because I don't have to hold it as tight as my original switch.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses had voice acting for every single character who spoke to you, so the text isn’t actually much of a problem.
cherryslushios only problem is if you can’t have the volume on for one reason
Another problem is gacha life
True but there are times where you have to read with the absence of voice acting. Such as game instructions, settings, inventory, and the books in the library. FE:TH's text size is incredibly small. Played it on both switch and switch lite and I found myself squinting so often.
Really? I played it on the Switch on handheld mode and the text seemed just fine for me.
I rather stick with the normal switch due to the drift problem, i can just replace joycons.
Agreed , I waited two years for the switch lite to come out to get into being a Nintendo switch owner and between the heat issue Kevin demonstrated and the potential drift issue
I’d rather just buy a new version regular switch with the good battery. Nintendo likes making stuff to break and we pay for repairs or replacements 😡
I have a OG launch switch but I’m getting a lite for pure portable. A few months after that I’m getting new OG Switch for docked play. (Need lite for portable because normal switch is way to fragile)
for the regular switch don’t replace joycons just get a pro controller unless u wanna play handheld mode
6:11 when u buy the switch lite but it starts drifting
I have not seen any drifting on mine yet.
_yet_
don't scare me
I think je is playing with a pro controller. otherwise link jump in drifting he only walks not jumps
Drifting?
Whats that?
The problem now is were to get one without getting price gouged.
James Howell I just got one online at target for 199

I just got the Animal Crossing one!

Lite and regular
New and Used
The lite amazingly improves on the handheld side of the switch, but it's other side the home console side doesn't even exist. So we can call it half a switch can't we?
Keeping my switch lite untill the day Nintendo allows me to move my Animal Crossing Island onto a new switch system
Animal crossing is over hyped trash
My birthday is coming up and I will get a switch lite. I want this because I don't have a enough money to buy a regular switch so this is a better option since i have a Wii u. This is much better cause I always go on road trips and plane rides so this is really good in my opinon.
I feel the cheapo switch is just too expensive.
If it's price catch up to the production savings for at least $150 it will be a viable product though.
That's funny considering it's already sold like crazy in Japan. It's more than viable even if you don't love it.
Nah, the original 3DS was $170 eight years ago (actually opened at $250 before price cut) . Nintendo eight years later wouldn't lower the price on a more advanced unit.
Switch needs to drop to $250 and Lite needs to be $150
@@thelionofthetribeofjudah9203 the launch of the Switch Lite in Japan placed second all time in the console revision category losing out to the 3DS XL in 2012, but beating out the PS4 Pro, New 3DS XL, and Gameboy Advance SP.

Wait, since the "joycons" are permanently connected to it what happens if I get the infamous joycon drift?
You're screwed unless you take it to get repaired
repaired or get a controller, you can sync controllers on the lite.
Replace the joy stick?
Spray on the edges of the thumbsticks with compact cleaner and dry it’s with cotton buds then spin it around for 1 minute and 30 seconds , also there is no possible way it’s gonna get broken because the air compressor is made for electronic devices, hope I helped :)
I love the song in the background from the beginning
Probably best to stick to the new Switch with the upgraded battery. The Switch Lite may have the drifting issue.
As that's been told when it came out
well in my opinion, you have 2 reasons to buy a Switch Lite, that is playing in handheld mode and not tv mode, and buy to your son or daughter if the other has already a regular one.
Owned both OG Switch and Lite and I gotta say the 2 biggest problems I have with it are 1. Obviously not being able to output video to a bigger display/TV
You have small hands.
It's kinda "sad" that it doesn't have the tremble on it, but I'll still buy it.
this one is really tempting me, but I already own an OG Switch (not the 2019 version) and besides, its price here in my country is a bit too high
but maybe, next year...

Best comparative i seen of original switch vs Lite.Congrats.
Anyways, thanks for listening and keep up the great work
Edit: Spelling fixes
When the Switch Lite got announced, I considered buying it over the OG Switch but I'm glad I didn't. My brother convinced me to get an OG Switch because he told me:
"Is it worth saving $100 for a Switch that you can't play on your TV and not having detachable controllers? You'll regret buying a Switch Lite 1-2 years from now"
3 weeks ago, I finally decided to buy the OG Switch and I'm so glad I went for the OG version. I've mostly been playing on portable mode but it's nice to have the option to play it on my TV and in kickstand mode. You're right, it's not worth saving $100 just to lose out on some aspects of the Switch that makes it a unique console in the first place.

I didnt know that it doesnt have HD rumble. Might as well get the version 2 as 2nd switch
if you play portably, you'll realize quickly HD rumble is more annoying than enjoyable.
Games looks great but with the new Zelda game the top and the bottom of the screen are fuzzy. I wanted something purely portable and this is perfect for what I want
That blurring is an intentional design choice in Link’s Awakening, it’s called tilt shift and is what gives the game that toy-like appearance
