I know people see the Lite as a downgrade from the actual switch as it doesn't 'switch'. The way I see it is this: most people had a DS and a Wii at some point in their life, did you prefer to play on a DS or a Wii? For me, I preferred DS as I could play whenever and wherever, and generally only would play the Wii if there was a game I wanted to play which was only available on that platform (e.g. Zelda twilight princess, etc). But, I like to spend my time curled up in bed with a DS in hand. Therefore, if I would only ever play the Wii rarely, why would I pay more for a switch that I can play on the TV when I've established this isn't my preferred way to play? It seems to me like the switch and lite is just the upgraded version of the Wii and DS system, it's just that the regular switch integrates the two
Yes!!! I love the feelings of having a DS in my hands anywhere. My couch, bed, car, it's just a comfortable thing rather than setting up a TV and all that. I completely agree.
Same! I grew up with a DS and a wii and being autistic and having social anxiety, I much preferred staying in my room with my DS and whatever game I felt like playing, As we most often used the wii on multiplayer games when family came over and although I love my family they’re noisy, and little me didn’t like that so I just left to go on my DS. I was so disappointed that Nintendo didn't launch an Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition of the Switch Lite alongside the Switch, because I think that would have made a lot of sense given that a lot of people are probably playing the game mostly in handheld mode (plus, think of how cool the design on a Switch Lite would be!). I don't regret my decision to get the Lite at all -- I think I'm going to have a ton of fun with it.

Thanks for the digital game trick! I pre-ordered the coral switch lite and was hesitant, but now I feel totally confident in getting it! This video was super helpful, thank you!
I bought a switch lite about a week ago to play the new Animal Crossing and I love it! One of my roommates already has a regular switch that we use to play multiplayer games, so considering this switch would be just for playing games on my own, it made sense to get a dedicated handheld version. It's super intuitive and I'm really happy with it - but that being said, there's a few things I really hope they address when/if they come out with a version 2: - BIGGER SCREEN. There's absolutely more room on the console that could be filled, and I find that having the rim around the screen / all that unused space really holds it back aesthetically. It would look much more sleek with a screen that fills the space all the way from the top to the bottom of the device, and I think just a little bit more space would make a big difference, especially considering that since there's space already there'd be no need to make the whole system any bigger and risk bogging it down (it's the perfect size as is imo). - Bluetooth support, as many have pointed out. There's no excuse to not have it in 2020. The PSP had it 10 years ago. - I really wish I could connect to a standard switch and use the switch lite as a controller. My roommates and I play games together pretty often, especially when we have friends over and it'd be a cool feature to have access to another controller in the apartment. More connectivity to the normal switch in general would probably inspire a lot more people who already have one to pick up a switch lite in addition, so it really feels like a missed opportunity for Nintendo. - More colors! I really like that they're offering some options in the way of customization, but I'm not a huge fan of the colors they have right now and I wish they offered more. I ended up picking out a black one, which feels a little boring but I still prefer it over what they have right now. I really like the pink one that's coming out soon, but as of the time I'm writing this it's not released yet and I wasn't willing to wait. But I hope they continue this trend and offer more colors in the future! Overall though, I'd recommend picking up a switch lite if it suits your needs! However, I don't think it makes sense right now to get one in addition to a normal switch if you have one already. However if they're willing to fix some of the issues in a later version, it might become worth it. And I personally will probably be more than happy to go out and get another! It would enhance the already great experience so much and make it easily the best hand held console Nintendo has ever released. TL;DR I really like my switch lite and I recommend it if it suits your needs + there's a hand full of features they need to add to make it infinitely better
I have a Switch Lite and I love it! It's the only Switch I've had. I knew that I would like to primarily play it in handheld anyway, so the reduced price tag was something I easily jumped on. I swapped Switches with my friend of a few hours once (she has a regular) and the Lite really is much more comfortable to play in handheld for extended periods of time. It's lighter and a good size for my hands. I definitely don't regret choosing the Lite. Really the ONLY thing that I'm bummed about is not being able to easily/reasonably play Ringfit. I really want that game, but I've heard trying to use the small Lite screen from afar doesn't work well :(
Had one since launch day, loved it because of the size and weight. I recently decided to pass it to my little sister for a couple of reasons. She mostly plays portable, and if she wants to play on a TV, there is 2 Switch in the house and docks in every major room for her to use. I even just ordered another lite for my girlfriend to play Animal Crossing, she had my regular Switch for a week and only once for a bit she had it docked. So yes, the Lite is awesome, but not if you play a lot of games and you plan to have the Switch as your main console. The switch to me is a secondary next to my Razer Blade 15 for games; AAA games on a PC and smaller or Nintendo games on the switch.
Thank goodness for this video! 😄 You made me finally decide and I’ll go for the lite! I’ve been back and forth for ages, getting in my own nerves and you framed it perfectly! Seems like the lite is all I need 🥳😌
I had the Lite, upgraded it for a regular Switch(revised version)... today I’m going back to the Lite. I played my Switch V2 way more in handheld, than docked. Even in SSBU, I felt I was a better player using it handheld. Maybe for us the 80’s/90’s people who played a lot of Gameboy back in the days, a Lite is the one to go. There is this good sensation of holding your console. To play docked? I rather play on a PS4/Xbox.
My son has the regular Switch, but I wanted to play Animal Crossing with him and wanted to be able to play Dr Mario whenever I want. So... the Lite was perfect for me.
tbh, my opinion, no. I been wanting the original switch but they're ofc sold out, but i ordered mine on amazon and its almost here. I would rather pay allot for the switch that can ACTUALLY switch, have a great battery life, and have a big screen
@@mariasbuggy so you missed the poin of the whole video... The lite is much more comfortable and can be taken everywhere easily and if she is gonna use it only handheld (like me) idk why should someone spend extra $150
I got mine during my birthday last December. I was amazed by this system. Like I can just pull it out for a quick gaming fix while travelling to work and back home.
Your new set is looking good! And I really thought if they did an Animal Crossing edition it would be the Lite! Nintendo would be smart to come out with more special editions for it like the Pokémon one because suckers like me will probably keep buying it, and it sounds like you might as well haha 😆
I’m getting my grey lite in on Friday. I bought AC themed everything for it. Skins, carrying case, thumb grips, etc. however if they release an official AC edition lite, is definitely be interested in buying it.

I can't thank you enough for your channel! I'm glad to have stumble upon your videos when researching about the Switch. I don't plan on having more than one system, so I'm struggling to decide on which Switch to buy. I love the Switch Lite for its looks, size and weight, and the Switch v2 for battery life and features. I'm always going to use handheld mode regardless of which Switch I buy, but I do like the idea of having extra features such as docking and tabletop mode just in case. There aren't many games that I want to play on the Switch atm, so I'm gonna take some time before I decide on which Switch would best fit my situation. Thanks again for making these videos! They're really helping me through the process on which Switch to buy.
So the OG switch is sold out everywhere and im thinking about getting the lite as well. I have a question though, can I connect the original WII remotes to the switch? If I want to play smash bros when some friends come over how do they play?
You can connect any controllers that work with a switch to a switch lite as well so. I worries there. To be honest you’re not gonna be missing much on the tv. Yes it’s 1080p but 720 on a screen that size looks excellent. Non issue in my opinion! Hope that helps!
@@DripMediaGaming Thanks so much for the fast replay. And yes, that helped a ton haha! You totally deserve more recognition btw, keep up the hard work and you'll get there in no time, I can feel it :)
I have the first switch that came out and I really do like the switch lite because it still basically has all the features and etc so really idc if I have the normal switch or the lite I’ll take both
Since we have the OG switch, being able to leave it alone and not risk breaking it is so wonderful!!!! I get to enjoy my lite everywhere and still have the option to go in the livingroom and Tv it up.
Quality content, thanks! This video has actually convinced me to get a Switch Lite instead of a regular Switch and i’m super happy I went with the Lite.
Have had mine for about 2 months love it. Wasn't about the money I could have gotten the big one but I hate the detachable joy cons and already have 2 consoles on my tv so a better more comfortable handheld is awesome for me
I have had the Pokemon edition for a month now. I would love it if it had better thumbsticks and rumble. It's also a bit small for me, but that can be fixed.
im here because im still deciding if i should buy this switch lite i honestly love how it’s smaller the regular switch is so heavy and big to the point it hurts my hands thank you for this video 💕 i’ll be getting it
personally, most of my childhood i played on consoles that are easier to travel with like the leapfrog and leapPad2, gameboy, DS and they were only 2 consoles i played on my tv which were my gamecube & wii. i plan on getting the lite for my birthday, it’s just your preference honestly. plus i wouldn’t replace my wii with any console my wii will always be connected to my tv.
Love the review & update. It really does come down to the type of life style and preference you have. I owned the OG Switch but found myself playing on my GF's Lite way more. Simple fact she always has it in her purse lol.
I just got a Lite, mainly because the Switch has been sold out in the UK for the best part of 8 months and the impending release of the Pro. What they don’t tell you about the Lite, is that although it doesn’t have a kick stand, you can still play in tabletop mode, with a Switch stand and separate Joy Cons, which will pair with a Lite. No need to go to the expense of official ones, get cheap, but good reviewed, knock off ones from China and it will also give you rumble. A bonus if you don’t already have a Switch.
I think the lite is the best way to play Pokemon Sword and Shield. When battling the gyms and doing dynamax raids, the rumble of the switch and the controllers is so violent that it makes my hands go numb. HD rumble will not be missed for me. But I definitely really liked hd rumble in Luigi's Mansion 3. That was my favorite game of last year.
Dude that grey is 🔥 here in 2022 it is the hardest to find. I've been looking for weeks and had to rely on stock alerts to finally get one last night. Can't wait for this to show up at my house. Haven't had Nintendo since Wii and have missed out on some fun games, even just from the Wii U.
David Ambrozi so glad you like it! I’m still working on it but I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’m definitely going to be able to get more videos out here that’s for sure
Went out and bought a regular Switch for my wife and I to play together during the quarantine. It was quickly decided that she wanted that all to herself to play Mario and Animal Crossing, as a compromise she bought me a Switch Lite. I absolutely love it! Both are great systems and honestly I really don’t see one as better than the other, just different.
I’m thinking of getting a lite because I really want a gaming device I can play in my bed or outside on my deck. I have a pc and I miss having a device that I can bring around the house and outside to play games on. I like the idea of having it attach to the computer but I really want something that’ll be comfortable as a handheld in my hands and the original looks really big. I’m just worried if I get the lite I’ll regret not being able to connect to my nice monitor. But at the end of the day I want it so I can play Nintendo games and for being handheld. I’m thinking of getting the turquoise.
I'm going with the lite, I already own a Xbox one x, PS4 pro and a gaming/studio PC so I have absolutely no need for another console connected to the tv. I also prefer handheld anyways.
I bought a Blue Nintendo switch lite last week with Pokemon Sword and honestly it's perfect for me I could careless about tv mode I mainly wanted a good handheld to play on
I had mine for around 4 months now, its just the best!. Even tho its not dockable it still does its best. I mean like 100$ cheaper than the og switch for all the games u mostly want to play? Like most people play zelda, pokemon, mario, smash is playable on the switch lite and its 100$ cheaper. Been loving my switch lite, its been my go to gaming everyday. Btw great video!
I agree with you on the save data comment. I own an original switch from launch. I use that in docked mode and have my new switch lite as my handheld one. I use both equally. I think the lite has a better feel and is comfortable. The D-Pad is nice too.
Just pre oredered the coral one. I'm excited for it. I didn't see the point of 100 more for a full switch when k just want a few games that I just plan on taking on the go not to really dock. Great review ! Glad to know it's still going good after 6 months
Since I was planning to get the switch, but they are all sold out due to the current state of the world I've been torn between hoping they come back in stock soon, or getting the lite. I thought it would be a huge downgrade, but the points you made in this video have convinced me that the lite is the right choice. I really just want a switch to play animal crossing new horizon anyway, so it seems like the lite is the way to go.
sold out in stores everywhere around me lol got one yesterday thanks to gamestops curbside service but had to drive 20 miles away super glad i got it and got pokemon sword and animal crossing! this video def swayed my decision
My girlfriend has a regular switch. I wanted to play animal crossing with her. Getting a normal switch would have been excessive to say the least. If I/we want to play docked/joycon games, we can use hers. Makes sense for me, and it works great for my needs. The idea of not having rumble sucks, but I honestly don't notice unless it gets pointed out.
This was great,I'm actually thinking about buying the Nintendo switch lite.😃 I had trouble deciding what version of the Nintendo switch to get and this was really helpful too.

One of my roommates already has a regular switch that we use to play multiplayer games, so considering this switch would be just for playing games on my own, it made sense to get a dedicated handheld version. It's super intuitive and I'm really happy with it - but that being said, there's a few things I really hope they address when/if they come out with a version 2:
- BIGGER SCREEN.
I really want that game, but I've heard trying to use the small Lite screen from afar doesn't work well :(
IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT DRIFT....Watch this :) ua-cam.com/video/sHu2O4Yzwas/v-deo.html
Can u play animal crossing and do online with friends with the lite
Sure can!
All game in switch v.2 u can play to switch lite??
Is Zelda breath of the wild Worth getting on switch lite
I bought my Switch Lite on launch day and love it. I'm currently playing Yoshi's Crafted World.
Nice! Thank you for checking out the video!
I’m gonna get one soon and the first game I’m getting is botw
No drift issues 6 months later? How often do you bbn play?
Hey I wanted to ask you, is the lite working fine till today?
I would've loved if they launched both for the animal crossing edition...
An Animal Crossing Switch Lite would have made SO MUCH SENSE.
Do you think they still will?
there is..
Nintendo Land lmao isn’t this talking about the game?? and anyway there’s the new Pokémon lite, so yes there is boo
@@mayshire2372 What are you even talking about
I had the Lite, upgraded it for a regular Switch(revised version)... today I’m going back to the Lite.
#teamswitchlite I’m gonna make a shirt lol
My son has the regular Switch, but I wanted to play Animal Crossing with him and wanted to be able to play Dr Mario whenever I want. So... the Lite was perfect for me.
the normal switch is sold out everywhere right now, and I’m considering buying the lite. is it worth it?
I think so. But that really depends on a lot. For me yes for you maybe not.
Yeah I got mine 2 days ago. It was the last stock in my store. It is worth the money if u are just gonna play in handheld mode.
tbh, my opinion, no.
More opportunities for OG one
I got mine during my birthday last December. I was amazed by this system. Like I can just pull it out for a quick gaming fix while travelling to work and back home.
Your new set is looking good! And I really thought if they did an Animal Crossing edition it would be the Lite! Nintendo would be smart to come out with more special editions for it like the Pokémon one because suckers like me will probably keep buying it, and it sounds like you might as well haha 😆
+A Casual Gamer Hahahaha yeah all the have to do is put a design on it and I’ll buy it 😂 🤷🏻♂️
I’m getting my grey lite in on Friday. I bought AC themed everything for it. Skins, carrying case, thumb grips, etc. however if they release an official AC edition lite, is definitely be interested in buying it.
I’m betting “motion controls” are movements like swinging the joy con in a tennis or golf game etc
Thanks so much for the video! I actually have both (well waiting for one of the them in the mail) I didn’t know about the hassle between switch and switch lite. Well now I know! Thanks!
I love the switch lite the buttons, look, feel it all comes together to become a perfect package
BTW the new location is pretty cool 👍👍👍
I agree. I really love the switch lite. Thank you!!!!
The lite buttons, dpad, and shoulder buttons, feel so much better than the switch imo
Nintendo for me always meant handheld devices, so I am super happy with my Switch Lite for Nintendo games. For 3rd party games I prefer playing them on the PC. PC+Switch Lite is the perfect combo
Goodness I have had my Switch lite for 6 months. I have 200 plus hours on Fire Emblem... and thats only one game : l
So hundreds of hours later and no drift or any hardware issues? 🤞
@@MetalheadMike99 please tell me why you asked that twice now ?
Do it have any draft issues because I'm really considering buying one next week(btw the pokemon edition)
@@LunaECG because I wanted to know and the best way to get information about production quality and durability is to ask numerous people. Why do companies ask the same question to thousands of people in a survey? To get a general understanding of an average performance quality level....
Michael Pearson also had mines for 6 months, and it’s joysticks are still good as new :)
Got mine a few days ago and im glad I got it. I dont really have a big tv in my room anyway. So i got the lite. It really just depends on your situation.
still got amazing lighting with the new spot! The wooden walls look dope!
So far it’s been three months with my switch lite & im loving it so far! Can’t wait til midnight for AC
Thought this was a channel with like 200 or 300 thousand subs, but boy i was wrong, I sub. Keep up the good work!
Haha I’m working on it. I appreciate the sub a ton. Posted my first video 6 months ago tomorrow so obviously I’ve got along way to go but we are definitely making a little progress. Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The editing and video is so good for someone with only 1k subs
This is a great, down to Earth video about the Switch Lite. Just got one for my wife.
So the OG switch is sold out everywhere and im thinking about getting the lite as well. I have a question though, can I connect the original WII remotes to the switch? If I want to play smash bros when some friends come over how do they play?
Also, I am going to mostly be playing games like pokemon and animal crossing, do those games look better on the TV?
You can connect any controllers that work with a switch to a switch lite as well so. I worries there. To be honest you’re not gonna be missing much on the tv. Yes it’s 1080p but 720 on a screen that size looks excellent. Non issue in my opinion! Hope that helps!
@@DripMediaGaming Thanks so much for the fast replay. And yes, that helped a ton haha! You totally deserve more recognition btw, keep up the hard work and you'll get there in no time, I can feel it :)
Your video helped me a lot :). I bought the nintendo switch lite in Turquoise today with ACNH and I'm so hyped! I can't wait XD
Yeeeesssssss! So glad I could help!
I bought those 2 things too! I've decided to go completely digital though as when I had my DS I somehow lost the game cartridges 😅
Just got a switch lite and fixed my joyaticks. I love this thing. Best handheld j have had in a long time. Since the psp.
Quality content, thanks! This video has actually convinced me to get a Switch Lite instead of a regular Switch and i’m super happy I went with the Lite.
6:50 They said it doesn’t have the IR MOTION CAMERA, not no “gyro” motion controls. Hope that clears it up
Have had mine for about 2 months love it. Wasn't about the money I could have gotten the big one but I hate the detachable joy cons and already have 2 consoles on my tv so a better more comfortable handheld is awesome for me
very helpful video, I was having a hard time deciding ima be getting the lite Friday!
GothPuppy glad I could help! Thanks for watching the video I really do appreciate it 🙏🏻
How do u like it? I just got mine four days ago since lots of doe time during corona, mario odyssey is awesome
Might as well subscribe now so when you're at a million I'll be one of the Ogs. Great videos!
😂😂😂 thank you!!!
I have had the Pokemon edition for a month now. I would love it if it had better thumbsticks and rumble. It's also a bit small for me, but that can be fixed.
Yeah a nice grip will fix that up quick! Thanks for watching!
@@DripMediaGaming Thanks for the awesome video!
It's good to see that your channel is growing so fast by the day. Keep up the good work man!
im here because im still deciding if i should buy this switch lite i honestly love how it’s smaller the regular switch is so heavy and big to the point it hurts my hands thank you for this video 💕 i’ll be getting it
Gonna be one of the OGs when I see you reach 1 mil! Love the content keep grindin man
Living alone, dont wanna play with friends --> Switch Lite for me
personally, most of my childhood i played on consoles that are easier to travel with like the leapfrog and leapPad2, gameboy, DS and they were only 2 consoles i played on my tv which were my gamecube & wii. i plan on getting the lite for my birthday, it’s just your preference honestly. plus i wouldn’t replace my wii with any console my wii will always be connected to my tv.
Love the review & update. It really does come down to the type of life style and preference you have. I owned the OG Switch but found myself playing on my GF's Lite way more. Simple fact she always has it in her purse lol.
Great video! You sold me on the switch lite thank you!
You’re content is amazing and you should be bigger. Keep it going, you are going places!
Mini Assault thank you so much!!
I bought my turqoise switch lite on 4th March, and i really really really loving it.
Helpful. All of the switches are sold out right now. Considering buying a switch lite instead.
Yeah there it's good
I love the new studio, it looks amazing!Awesome video like always
David Ambrozi so glad you like it! I’m still working on it but I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’m definitely going to be able to get more videos out here that’s for sure
You deserve to have way more subscribers, the video quality is so good!
After 6 months since i purchased, it was a mistake for me, i should've get the NS V2. I realized switch is all about the hybrid capability.
Honster Munter Yup. A lite is mostly for single playing.
I bought a Blue Nintendo switch lite last week with Pokemon Sword and honestly it's perfect for me I could careless about tv mode I mainly wanted a good handheld to play on
i love my switch lite its so reminiscent of my ds/3ds, laying in bed late at night playing mario is great
I had mine for around 4 months now, its just the best!.
Epixzs IOS thank you!
I agree with you on the save data comment. I own an original switch from launch. I use that in docked mode and have my new switch lite as my handheld one. I use both equally. I think the lite has a better feel and is comfortable. The D-Pad is nice too.
I love my switch lite! I've owned it since March due to Covid, and its been a great investment.
Lucky you man So no drift until now?
just curious
Lovely background! It came out really nice! ☺️
Love the new set man. It came out nice
right on! watch full vid. you will agree! as a switch or lite user.
I love your new location so much! 😍
Thank you!!!!!!!
Drip Media Gaming check your IG please :D
I loveee the switch lite 🥰
I got a lite for my sister as a birthday gift and it is *SO* much more comfortable than my regular switch
I love your digs!!!
nice video, REALLY surprised by your subscriber count. The production is well done, keep pushing and making content!
Well I’ll be getting the lite over the regular switch. I plan to use it more handheld then anything else. Thanks for the info on your video.
sold out in stores everywhere around me lol got one yesterday thanks to gamestops curbside service but had to drive 20 miles away super glad i got it and got pokemon sword and animal crossing! this video def swayed my decision
You've got my support man 💪 💯 all the way from Philippines 🇵🇭
Ian Miko Pacquing - kamusta ka?
this channel has some quality contents... deserves more subs...
Oh snap! New location!?!? Looks super dope, not too busy! Switch colors in the back!! Nice! Love my golden switch lite, no analog drift here 😁😁
Thank you so much! Haha yeah I haven’t had any issues with drift either. Not yet anyway lol
You make professional videos! I look forward to seeing your account grow
Timara Williams thank you!
I do want me a Nintendo Switch Lite despite already owning the original Nintendo Switch
Martell Tha Cool do it ! I own both , and I use the lite more then the other .
What about the joycons? I heard that they are more likely drift on the switch lite than on the OG Switch..
Excellent video, as someone looking to buy a Lite for Animal Crossing and Pokemon, I can say you deserve way more subs dude.
I got my new nintendo switch lite June 4 2020, thumbs up here
I really miss my old v2
Got mine coming tomorrow hopefully cannot wait!!!!!!!!
Gamermum93 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This was great,I'm actually thinking about buying the Nintendo switch lite.😃 I had trouble deciding what version of the Nintendo switch to get and this was really helpful too.
Magical Cat-girl just got one today because of the quarantine and the regular switch is sold out everywhere in my city and it costs 450 on Amazon. You have to hurry
Wilfred B okay, but I'll get either the regular Nintendo switch or the switch lite after the quarantine is over.😃
I’m only getting the switch lite for animal crossing
Thank you for clearing things up. Though still torn between Lite and V2.
Liked and subscribed😄
+stereofused thank you so much!! Appreciate it
