really appreciate this video, guys - meditation is always the first thing to go when work gets busy, so thank you for changing my perspective :)
Always the case! Good old Mr Baker (RIP 😢) dropped this wisdom: propanefitness.com/now-is-not-the-time-to-stop-smoking/
Thank you, really appreciate the video, smart, funny and useful
Glad you found it helpful Luis 👊 you'll enjoy our other vids on meditation too
Thanks guys. Got this delivered today and already mastering it lol. I'm a stoner and find my attention can be harnessed in a more intense way.
Especially when I'm concentrating on my vape flow..
The birds go nuts lol
This is great, never heard of this app. Thank you.
Went and logged into a meditation I used to use every day. 93 hours. Time to build the habit back up again
@@kieranmajury9623 Yesss Kieran almost at the big hundy!
I try and get everyone I know into meditation. I think this would be good because i personally feel like I get stuck with all the stuff the different options I have with Insight Timer. Could give this a go… although one thing, I’m not sure I wanna “undo the illusion of self”… I like me
Yeah insight timer has become horribly bloated now - hah yes, I think undoing illusion of self is unlikey to happen by accident. 'i might get too big' phenomenon. You might enjoy this ua-cam.com/video/OC1q63K8SSo/v-deo.html
Yes boys! I commented on a recent post of yours regarding meditation. I have been delving deeper into my practice since we last spoke. By the nature of the type of person I am, I look to utilise technology to enhance my learning outcomes.. so I was glad to see you posted about the Muse 2, though I'm on the fence about getting one. I've been meditating inconsistently for over a year, but as you mention in your conclusion, having a sense of direction could be worth the cost alongside that additional accountability.
Any updated thoughts on the device in 2023?
Nice, glad you’ve been going deep with your practice. I think the device is fantastic to have a correlate and make sure you’re on the right track, plus Jonnys point of gamifying for motivation/behavioural benefits.
Is it possible to use Muse S without a soundtrack, like just listening to a stream out in the woods?
Thank you very much for this video! You've convinced me to try it. I don't pretend to be an experienced meditator at all. I have only been working on it for a few months.
Therefore, I would have greatly appreciated to know your statistics, in order to have an idea, even approximate, of my level of progress. I get about 15% calm during my sessions. How about you? 😊
I very much like your rationale for this - they've certainly designed the device well for this, such that if you increase your calm percentage, you're going to improve your meditation quality. Up to the point where you're eventually so confident in your ability that you no longer need it. Our discount code is in the description if you do go ahead 👌
@@PropaneFitness I already own the Muse S. I get a score of 15% calm, in the app. I know I can improve. I just wanted to know your score to have an idea of the possible progression. 😉
@@gillesbreda3010 ah sorry misread that bit! Our scores range from 40-95% calm depending on the quality of the session 🧘
I hope everyone gets one of these for Xmas ;) delivered by Sadhanta Guru
Hah, I love it
I started about a couple months ago, and tried to do 30min in the morning but struggled. Ended up doing 20min in the morning and 10min before sleep, found that more sustainable at this point in time. Funnily enough I was wondering if I am doing it right.
One thing I will say, my deep sleep duration has improved on my oura ring, before I was getting an average of 1hr30min +- 15min every night. Now I'm hitting about 2hr15 +-15 per night. My REM sleep has improved too. Only caveat is that there was a recent firmware update, so the cynic in me is wondering if that is the real reason, although I do genuinely feel that my sleep quality has improved.
It seems as though this muse tech might be good for a beginner to understand and learn how to meditate correctly early in the journey, unless they are reasonably confident they are doing so.
Nice Vic - 30 mins is tough, but glad you found a way to get the total volume in 👊️ Once it starts becoming inherently enjoyable it takes on momentum of its own.
That's awesome about the deep sleep duration too, what a shift!
Traditionally, in India, 'meditation' is often taught in 2 different practices, which each have different aims and effects. What you guys seem to imply by meditation is focusing the mind (no surprise that a vipassana guy would find it interesting). However all focusing meditations are only one of the two types, and only the training wheels for the second type.
What is the second type?
@Patricularpeach it's traditionally labelled 'dharana', whereas focusing meditation is called 'dhyana' (where the Chinese derive chan and the Japanese zen).
Your discount code and link no longer work. I imagine you may know this already 😊
Good video! Thanks.
This headband includes a heart monitor. I do not understand why.
What keeps the app from showing a slowing heart rate as "birds", instead of actual brain activity?
I guess, if the outcome is the same - biofeedback that results in a more consistent and more efficient meditation practice, then does it matter?
Hello, where can I find these informations of the hours spent on meditation and its effects? Is it from a scientific papper, a book?
Hey Bruno - project monkey mind blog
@@PropaneFitness oh, unfortunatelly the blog is offline. But thanks for your time. I do appreciate the video :)
