    To be honest.... haven't seen a ton of reviews of this format where the welder can actually WELD! This was great! It had great content with everything you need w/o too much time wasted.

    What about duty cycle? Warranty ? Replacement internal parts availability ? Does ac have places that will repair it for you. I'm not trying to say the cheap one isn't worth it l. What I'm getting at is there is more that goes in to the name brand machines. Yes some of it is the name you pay for but there is typically more support behind them as well. For most hobby shops it probably doesn't matter. But the people making money with a welder it starts to matter.

      Excellent comment and questions. They have a 60% duty cycle and 24 month warranty. And shipping was incredibly prompt.. 48 hours to my doorstep. As far as parts goes I couldn’t tell you what it’s like to get them yet as I haven’t had to replace any. And to be perfectly honest I was super skeptical about the machine. They gave me one to do an honest review, I am impressed at how it actually works and would take it in the field.. would I weld 1/2-1” plate all day? Probably not, but this little unit definitely has a place in any shop IMHO.
      Thanks for watching and giving legitimate feedback 👌

    Bear in mind the esab is like 90% efficient compared to arc captain. You're electric bill is way more higher when using arc captain on daily usage. If welding is your profession then miller, lincoln and esab are the best choice.

    • @flyweldfabricate
      @flyweldfabricate  5 місяців тому

      @@jaival_rhaine for sure it won’t compare to a miller in a full time fab shop. I use millers every day.. but it’s honestly legit, never noticed any differences on the electric bill but it sure could save a lot of money on start up cost while having a actual quality machine

      @@flyweldfabricate there is a scientific way of measuring it as it was tested by another channel. With stick set at 66 amperes it draws a 3000W from the outlet and outputs a 1716W while the esab draws 2040 W with output of 1716W. Not because you don't notice it doesnt mean that its not there since there are many tools running on the shop.. the 1000W more wattage in just welding 66Amps means alot more electric bill, you can do the math. In a year or so of daily usage, those extra wattages are able to buy a Miller welder.

      Check out the titanium line. I'm a production welder 30 years experienced shipyard and naval vessels. Welding is not actually a complicated process, it can be done successfully with car batteries ran in series. These big companies need to lower their prices if they want to remain viable or the rising other companies are going to run them out of business. Everlast Primeweld and Titanium are taking over and they are reasonably affordable compared to the monopoly companies and they can all make professional passable welds.

      @@flyweldfabricate No PFC means that there is capacitance inside the machine that keeps the current and voltage in peak alignment (no phase shift) when welding. This means it delivers the output amperage with a much lower input amperage. I know Miller, Fronius and ESAB offer machines with PFC which makes them very handy on 110 as you can get much more out of them without tripping a breaker. Or if welding from a generator, you can use a smaller generator. It also is a bit cheaper to run, as you use less electricity. I believe you can lower your bill by 20 to 25% with such a welder.
