    Hadn't had a chance to check out your latest vids, then clicked on this one and was surprised to see the link to the Vapor Blaster plans! Been a long time coming, and turns out well worth the wait. I immediately ordered and then downloaded them. Only had a chance to glance thru the 233(!) pages. I will say, the massive attention to detail is astounding, but not at all surprising Brad. And the cost is just beyond reasonable. Thank YOU for offering such a great publication. Dan.

      Thank you for saying so Dan. I had some extra time at the beginning of the year, so I really got working to finish them. I debating keeping the page number lower, but I wanted to use a little bigger font and a lot of illustrations (my kind of book). Anyway, thanks for downloading them. Sorry you had to wait about 3 years for them.

      @@ArnoldsDesign Tonight over on the Garage Journal someone started a thread on wanting to build a Vapor Blaster. I posted a link to your handbook. Hope it draws much interest.

    Nice job. Always amazed at the beautiful finish the wet process produces.

    Nice seeing the machining process! I would love to see someone show how well this setup would work on rusted painted metal parts which is what a lot of people want to strip. Thanks for the video!

      Works well on rusted and painted metal, unless it's a really thick industrial coating which I don't see on many parts. About 95% of paints blast off quite readily. Powder coating doesn't blast easily either.

    So satisfying to make your own tools. When would you use wet as opposed to dry? I have a dry medium blaster and still learning what it can do.

      I use my wet cabinet for vapor honing only. My dry cabinet is for part prep, i.e. stripping off the hard weathered surface.

      @@ArnoldsDesign thanks...I'm guessing you have two cabinets or do you use one for both methods? I have a heap of carburetors to do some day, what medium would you use to finish them?.

      @@kevbarry7453 I run two cabinets. Fine crushed in the dry cabinet, and glass bead in the wet cabinet.

    why wet vs dry blasting?

    So, does one head do both the dry and wet media? Also, how much pressure is put into the water and air (at least.. im assuming you have water with media in one hose, and air in the other)?
    Also, you might want to look into those rotating/spinning port windows for boats or ships... The wiper seems to have seen better days hahaha

    • @ArnoldsDesign
      @ArnoldsDesign  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, one head does both, but the nozzles and air jets are different sizes for each task. Pressure depends on several factors, so there's not a one size fits all. I will check out the spinning windows. The wiper isn't working very well because it tends to roll over glass beads sometimes instead of pushing them away. A water spray on the windshield helps a lot. My other blaster had one, but I haven't installed one on this cabinet yet.
