I think people forget just how young Yeri was when she debuted. She’s still so young - 21. Female bodies go through so much change it’d be weird to me if she didn’t experience any body changes. She’s always been cute to me, and she’s blossoming into a beautiful young lady. I think she’s finally found her groove. Yeri has been happier and I can’t stop watching her UA-cam show. Red velvet's stylist doesn't know how to style yeri that would compliment her body shape. For instance the purple and black outfit yeri wore that we see at the beginning of this video makes her legs look shorter and her waist more boxy. It's not flattering on her at all and it's a shame because I think yeri has a nice body.
Kpop stylists really seem to struggle styling Apple body shapes. They always dress them in such unflattering silhouettes when they have great bodies! It’s like if you’re not a size small with an ant waist, the stylists have no idea what to do with you.

Yeri composed, produced and directed her solo song Dear Diary and if you look up the lyrics its a very gentle song to herself basically being like "hey friend, please take care of yourself, the sadness will pass". She started doing a youtube show entirely by her own violition bc she wanted to see fans more often. She's a very friendly caring person who has alot of creativity, and thats the reason she has so many celebrity friends-because they see her worth and talent even if SM and netizens dont. I'm really proud of how strong she's been over the past year and I hope she only gets happier on her own terms

I want to add a small information: the friend who passed away was Shinee's Jonghyun. Jonghyun was one of her vocal coaches since she was *really* young. Imagine losing somebody who you grew with, both as a person and as a professional singer. Jonghyun's passing hit the whole industry quite harshly. Why should be Yeri to blame? She has feelings. Yeri may not be the most talented dancer or singer, but she worked hard to become an idol, performs with heart and a smile on her face, she has a loveable charm and savage sense of humour. She is also the most light-hearted and playful of the group.
Yeri is one of my ults in kpop and I'm truly disgusted by all the hate she gets. Posting nasty comments about someone's body is wrong whatever their age but to send hate to a minor is on a whole other level. There's a special place in hell for people like that and for the people who criticized her "bad attitude" after one of her close friends suddenly died. Gotta laugh at how netizens preach about mental health but wrote abuse about Yeri under those particular circumstances. Something not mentioned in the video is that during Power Up era (summer 2018) she was actually having to take IV lines to get through performances cause she was so unwell. She seems like such a kind and bright person, she's intelligent (probably the best English speaker after Wendy), she wrote and composed her solo song and she's kept going through the years despite all the hate. I really wish her the best and I hope she has a long, successful, happy career.

I feel like, in Kpop, if you don’t have that typical “Kpop body type”, you are going to be styled poorly. If you have a bigger chest, a boxy waist, weight gathering disproportionally at your arms or thighs, or anything else that is not considered “an idol body”, you are going to be wearing clothes that, at the best doesn’t flatter you, and at the worst actually does you a disservice.

RV debuted was rushed to silence the scandals happening to SM. In 2014 Yeri wasnt of legal age to work and couldn't debute. If SM didn't use RV as a plan B and kept their debute for the next year with all 5 members, Yeri hate would be "normal" or non existe at all!

I think people forget just how young Yeri was when she debuted. She’s still so young - 21. Female bodies go through so much change it’d be weird to me if she didn’t experience any body changes. She’s always been cute to me, and she’s blossoming into a beautiful young lady. I think she’s finally found her groove. Yeri has been happier and I can’t stop watching her UA-cam show. Red velvet's stylist doesn't know how to style yeri that would compliment her body shape. For instance the purple and black outfit yeri wore that we see at the beginning of this video makes her legs look shorter and her waist more boxy. Kpop stylists really seem to struggle styling Apple body shapes. They always dress them in such unflattering silhouettes when they have great bodies! It’s like if you’re not a size small with an ant waist, the stylists have no idea what to do with you.

Yeri composed, produced and directed her solo song Dear Diary and if you look up the lyrics its a very gentle song to herself basically being like "hey friend, please take care of yourself, the sadness will pass". She started doing a youtube show entirely by her own violition bc she wanted to see fans more often. She's a very friendly caring person who has alot of creativity, and thats the reason she has so many celebrity friends-because they see her worth and talent even if SM and netizens dont. I want to add a small information: the friend who passed away was Shinee's Jonghyun. Jonghyun was one of her vocal coaches since she was *really* young. Imagine losing somebody who you grew with, both as a person and as a professional singer. Jonghyun's passing hit the whole industry quite harshly. Why should be Yeri to blame? She has feelings. She is not a robot providing songs and dance. Poor soul.

Something not mentioned in the video is that during Power Up era (summer 2018) she was actually having to take IV lines to get through performances cause she was so unwell. She seems like such a kind and bright person, she's intelligent (probably the best English speaker after Wendy), she wrote and composed her solo song and she's kept going through the years despite all the hate. I feel like, in Kpop, if you don’t have that typical “Kpop body type”, you are going to be styled poorly. If you have a bigger chest, a boxy waist, weight gathering disproportionally at your arms or thighs, or anything else that is not considered “an idol body”, you are going to be wearing clothes that, at the best doesn’t flatter you, and at the worst actually does you a disservice.

RV debuted was rushed to silence the scandals happening to SM. In 2014 Yeri wasnt of legal age to work and couldn't debute. If SM didn't use RV as a plan B and kept their debute for the next year with all 5 members, Yeri hate would be "normal" or non existe at all!

I think it’s so funny how people are complaining that she isn’t “talented” but it’s bc of them and there comments. And having that constantly on you I would be less happy on stage too! Yeri is a goddesses just like the other members!!! 😤😤 and I love her voice!

yeri's "new" body shape in 2020 gives me hope cuz I have the same exact rectangle body shape as her...reading the hurtful comments lowkey hurt ME cuz I'm also "boxy" and "stocky"....I'm not "fat" per se I'm just really wide!!! 😭😭😭 but yeri looks absolutely amazing nowadays so I hope to have her newfound confidence and strength to work on my body too!

Being an idol is where you can showcase your talents. Yeri is an idol who sings. She can dance. She can compose. She can write lyrics. and people have the audacity to judge yeri based on her appearance? Not just yeri but all idols who were affected by this.
