i mean..... if the amperage/capacity/watthour is "fixed", we're just basically charging up a capacitor, and in that case, volts is correct-
@@dimitar4yNot really, the stored energy would be proportional to the voltage... (Actually not even that, energy in a capacitor is W=½CV² but whatever...) voltage isn't power or energy. It is kinda like saying how full a bucket is by the depth of the water. You don't have 5 inches of volume (water), just like you don't have 120V of energy. Its just wrong.

The twist at the end explains why it doesn't matter what unit they chose. Voltage not making sense ends up making sense.

what’s even more infuriating is that they run on 230V in most countries like the UK where RCE and I live, and in countries where they use 120V, it’s double phase so it’s 240V effectively anyway!
@@randomwafflerthat's what I thought at first, but it depends on the stove. Here, we use 120V, and there are some stoves that are made with that in mind.

if you like clicker games with story, I highly suggest going back to universal paperclips! I can promise you, however far you think you are along in the game, you are only at the beginning...

Also "A Dark Room" - which I think beats even Universal Paperclips, BUT, ends up having pretty complex mecahnics relative to most clicker games.
As an electrical engineer games and data sheets that refer to "volts" as power are so cringy haha. I can't tell you how many times I've had to comb through data sheets looking at power requirements (volts, phases, amps, etc.) and all they list under power is voltage and I'm just sitting there like "I have learned nothing about ensuring this piece of equipment will be properly designed around".... lol

Out of curiosity, how far apart would the high-tensions lines need to be to safely carry a billion volts without the air breaking down?
I'm a mechanical design engineer. I often open electronics datasheets, scroll past 99 pages of nonsense to find a fag packet sketch of its physical dimensions which is usually missing a few key dims... (bloody electrical engineers lol)
As a rule of thumb 10-30kv is needed to jump 1cm. So 1 billion volts could jump around 1km. Lightning can actually have houndrets of millions of volts, so that 1km/1GV roughly checks out.@@John73John

I remember that when I played the game, the pressure gauge puzzle was the easiest for me and the nuclear one was the hardest, so I thought it was amusing that you had the opposite reaction!
Just to be pedantic, power generation is measured in kilowatts, megawatts, and gigawatts, not volts. I only point it out as it is so simple to look up that it should be correct.

@@jamesshelton308 You could, but I think Watts is more appropriate as you’re measuring the amount of power generated, not the rate of generation because that is how the click game is showing the quantity. Since it is a game, they can use kilo-kittens for units as I do. 😃
I changed my mind, watthours would be better as it IS charging a battery.😊
