I believe that valve is currently the only company that still respects the players in the gaming industry instead of seeing them as money bags.
Sorry, but I'll take a device that runs a watered down and unoptimized version of Windows 11 over a Linux based system any day of the year. The number of hoops I had to jump through on the deck just to install some Epic games only for them to not even work was beyond stupid. I'm so happy I sold it to a friend who just plays bus simulator on it. What a waste of time and money the deck is for people who are not solely steam gamers.
Loving my ROG ally waymore then my steam deck. Can finally play the games I love like Fortnite, COD, Diablo 4 , and Destiny 2.. I have not one issue with the ally but have had plenty with the steam deck.
The Ally is better from a pure performance stand point but the trade off is u have to always be close to a outlet, which to me kind of defeats the purpose of a handheld, I'll take the oled deck
Yeah this video is dumb AF LOL. Does the new update brick the device? Is it about terrible build quality that causes stick drift and the trigger buttons to fall apart? No? Then why is he talking as if it's a huge fault? I usually like his videos but this one was a giant L.

I just bought this and it’s amazing! Tons of good updates out for it as well as using it as a regular pc and regular pc gaming on a monitor and handheld is awesome!
Having owned both, I still prefer my Ally. Losing a few FPS is nothing compared to losing HALF MY STEAM LIBRARY because SteamOS doesn’t support it. I eventually sold my SteamDeck because no matter how “nice” or “streamlined” the experience, who cares if I couldn’t actually PLAY half my games? 😅

I’ve owned several Asus ROG laptops and their stupid Armoury crate was one of the reasons I was super skeptical of the ally to begin with, and once I got my hands on it I could see the writing on the wall and sold it off to my cousin heavily discounted.
That's why I've got the Lenovo legion go. Bigger screen, handy back rest, easy to navigate Windows with the touch pad, fps mode has also been a god send while I'm working night shift. I love it

Idk why people keep bashing the Rog Ally, I have 2 steam decks since they came out, 1 Logitech G Cloud, and 1 Asus Rog Ally and I love the Ally. I tend to use the Ally more then my Steam Decks. Just expressing my personal experience.
I already bought it and have been using it for almost a year. Great console. The sd reader works, anyone having problems Asus has extended the warranty on the sd rider to two years. I installed a 1 tb disk. I'm having a blast :) The only downside is the weak battery. These bloggers are sick of them with their hate. My advice to you is to go to the store and find a console that suits your taste. Bloggers have 5-10 percent truth, everything else is advertising or anti-advertising crap. Sorry good luck everyone😂
I follow your videos, religiously. And because of that, I've bought and sold the Steam Deck and ROG Ally 12 times now. Can't wait to see you change your mind again.
He’s actually not joking, bought an ally yesterday and after work the first thing I’m doing is returning it, it’s garbage, the amount of troubleshooting you’ll have to do to get games to run “decent” is ridiculous and it’s portability works against you because you’ll be troubleshooting with the touch screen and if your a grown man with man hands you’ll have a hard time hitting those tiny buttons while your trying to get the game to a playable state. Not for me, not for the average consumer and definitely not for kids. Price is too high for the subpar experience.
Why are hating so much !!! It's up to you to update it or not and most people know before reciving thier rog not to update to 319, but i don't blame you you want more views and this is the right way to do it
Once I got the Ally there was A LOT to setup before using it. However, that is JUST as much as any other computer. Once it is up and going, then there is really no more settings to mess with. Whenever I install a new game on my computer I have to install a bunch of crap to get it up and going. Nothing like that on the Ally (yet). The games just startup and runs. I have no idea what the "no-buyers" are talking about.. The Ally is awesome! Of course, you're not gonna run Triple A games in extreme settings. I hope you understand that. Not even close in some cases. Again, this is a very small device. But it really do run games well. Considering you play on the Ally screen you aren't gonna notice that anyway. Because lowering for example the shadows to low, environment to mid or high, and overall quality to mid or high, the Ally still runs them at around 60fps. The screen is small enough to hide this. I honestly can't see a difference between 720 and 1080 on this screen. And I am 33 yo and have played games since the day I was born. In any case, this dude is just trying to sell you a Steam Deck. It's just retarded advertisement. Whatever bugs the Ally had is gone with the updates. I have zero problems with it in everything I do. It is mainly for gaming on the Ally's screen though so I can't speak at all for gaming in a rig. Then again, why not just use your computer for gaming on the big screen? I can see you having it in an office and want to game in the living room. But that is about all the problems I can't solve for you. Anyway, I bought it and are happy as shit with it.
I see no downside to buying a handheld gaming laptop/pc. This is pretty cool. Im not really in the steam or gamepass ecosystem yet... the ally is intriguing.
Every time I get a video from this channel in my feed, it is about not buying the ROG Ally I don't get this guy's hate for the handheld, it ended up being extremely good performance wise.
I messed with an Ally in Best Buy, and I hated it. It felt so cheap and toy-like compared to the steam deck, which feels like a sturdy piece of hardware.
I need help… I don’t want to build my own pc, because I have no clue how to build, and shipping costs for each individual part is hella expensive. So I saw a prebuilt pc that is slightly over 1000$ with these specs: Intel i5 12th gen RTX 3070 16g ram 512g ssd (not good, I know) Which is the best option that I have seen.
Seems good for that price as long as the seller is reputable. I would like more ram myself, but 16gb seems to be the new standard for the recommended absolute minimum. Can always get a larger ssd later if you see it on sale.

I chose steam deck over other handhelds just for the sake that it's a valve product. I believe that valve is currently the only company that still respects the players in the gaming industry instead of seeing them as money bags.
Someone please give this guy an ROG Ally for FREE!!! 🤦♂️
😂😂😂😂I felt that one😂😂😂
😂😂
Why it could be given to me
I’ve had my Ally since launch day, best handheld I’ve ever owned.
I literally just scrolled from a video where he says “the steam deck is gonna be replaced” bruh 💀💀
You’re slow, you could have just bought an sd card with windows on it and dual booted
Be honest you wrote that in the middle of a forced windows update
I’ve added multiple non steam things and have no issue
Loving my ROG ally waymore then my steam deck. Can finally play the games I love like Fortnite, COD, Diablo 4 , and Destiny 2.. I have not one issue with the ally but have had plenty with the steam deck.
The Ally is better from a pure performance stand point but the trade off is u have to always be close to a outlet, which to me kind of defeats the purpose of a handheld, I'll take the oled deck
my guy said "dont buy this because one update made it slower but they will fix it though and then it will be fine:
Yeah this video is dumb AF LOL.
Does the new update brick the device? Is it about terrible build quality that causes stick drift and the trigger buttons to fall apart? No? Then why is he talking as if it's a huge fault? I usually like his videos but this one was a giant L.
The ally is phenomenal don’t let this deter you, steam deck was collecting dust when I got the ally, I’d recommend it over the steam deck if you can afford it.
The new update fixed all issues, I'm so satisfied.
I will buy Rog Ally 1000% for sure. Thanks
Not a fan boy, but a happy customer! My rog runs circles around steam deck! Don’t regret my purchase. That’s just my opinion.
Can’t trust this dude’s reviews. He keeps flip flopping.
Ally is more powerful than the deck. Facts.
mans angry because he bought a steam deck and the rog ally came out and it eats the steam deck alive 💀
He definitely has buyers remorse and cant just swallow his pride and admit he made the wrong choice.
I think you got it backwards homie. If your an rog fan and you bought a steam deck you may have made the wrong choice
Oh Zack, you're so silly. It just launched. But, you know... The steam deck launched in a flawless state as well, so what do I know?
I'm now buying all the allys at nearest best buy. Thanks for your promotion and good review for the ally made me have 100% confidence in my buying ability. This video has been brought to you by Asus. Thank you.
Thanks to this video im buying the rog ally! Its so much more powerful, comfortable, looks better, has the the power of a ps5, and has windows 11 built in!
After this video, I sold my deck and bought an ally
I just returned mine. The reviewers lied. It can not play PS3 games or 360. This is still underpowered
Works for my PS3 games. Guess it's a "results may vary" thing.
Stop lying bastard, glad u returned.i am enjoying mine with playing rpcs3 games
Agreed I was just playing Resistance on mine and had zero problems.
wow its like people forgot how buggy SteamDeck was at launch...
How is this a mistake or a "DON'T BUY" situation? It's a fucking PC, just roll it back, or wait for another update. Dude just fiending for that clickbait, man.
Every now and then an update to anything misses something up I'm still getting one
Just buy a PC/Laptop at that point 💀
Just exchanged my ally for a solid gaming laptop that was on sale.
@@Gigaoveronly reasonable rog buyer out there😂good that you did that unlike most rog simps😂
i mean , the point of this device is for portability , unlike a chonky Gaming Laptop, you have to lug around a brick of a charger and mouse
Dont get me wrong , i still love Laptops in general, be it slim, basic, rugged or gaming focused ♥️♥️👍
@@JoshuaG lmao no difference than a laptop since this brick game has to have a charger connected to it outdoors unless you want an hour of use only. Besides, what is the point of maxing the settings if the device can barely survive 1 hour. Rather use a laptop then🤣

This is the same guy who said that the ROG Ally was the replacement for the steam deck.
This is why I don’t sub to bullshit like this
Now that's just 100% personal. You know they still can make updates to fix the performance issues, so no, buying the rog Ally instead of steam deck is always the best option (unless it's just out of your budget)
Okay i gotta know why does this guy makes me wanna buy it even more 😂😂😂 like is this a reverse psychology Marketing or something?
5D chess by Asus😂
Yay, let's shit on a newly released device and tell people to not buy it just cuz of a small mistake with a firmware update 😀
the guys paid by valve. no respect for these shameless exploiters.
not only do i want to buy a a Rog ally now, but my first born will be name Rog Ally
Even with the bogus upgrade the asus rog ally is still better than the steamdeck!
Frr its better
I just got one and I love it, the new 323 bios update just made it way better. I love watching videos like this age like milk. Did you really think the the rog ally wouldn’t get updates and bug fixes? It hasn’t even been out that long and as I recall the steam deck had a lot of problems on launch as well.
Yeah blocking this channel. You don't get views by starting console wars. People are smarter these days and will buy what fits their needs.
Bro is constantly switching sides 💀💀
Asus has really been going downhill ever since the 7800x3D incident
I have both, the rog is a crazy beast. The deck had issues in the beginning. ALLY JUST CAME OUT, chill.
He knows that the steam deck has had over a year to update its firmware while the Ally has had a month
I don't care, as long as it can play GTA5, RDR2, and The Arkhamverse.
I love my ROG so much better than i expected, playing The outer realms at medium setting with 50+ fps is amazing for a handheld.
I love it
I’ve had a great experience with my Ally so far. Hoping the same for everyone that picks one up.
Just bought one, had little issues at first but other than that, it’s golden 🤷🏻♂️
I bought the ally and really happy since day one WITHOUT any troubles so your opinion is pointless for many peoples to stay polite
Why so much hate on the Ally sheesh, I actually love it and I had both deck and ally, sold my deck and kept my ally. Trust me, the ally is a beast. If you got the money and can get it, go for it.
For the type of games that i play, ally is perfect
Idk why people keep bashing the Rog Ally, I have 2 steam decks since they came out, 1 Logitech G Cloud, and 1 Asus Rog Ally and I love the Ally. I tend to use the Ally more then my Steam Decks. Just expressing my personal experience.
Love how they make videos to hate on the other company like competition ain’t good for business lol
Man I just want my right joystick to work again and I’ll be happy
Bruh loves to complain for no reason. Man complains like a little girl
Isn't this the guy who said it was going to make the Steam Deck obsolete and you shouldn't buy a SD as a result?
I like the reverse psychology! I just bought 2 thanks to this video!
Who’s sponsoring you bro 😂
😂😂
My ROG Ally is still going strong! 😎 Very happy with my purchase, updates fix issues and more updates come all the time
Seems like this video is no longer accurate, and I purchased the ROG Ally and do not regret it..!
Same this issue has been fixed a while ago
I follow your videos, religiously. And because of that, I've bought and sold the Steam Deck and ROG Ally 12 times now.
Can't wait to see you change your mind again.
Does steam deck allow game pass? Nope. Ally has native game pass.
Def a skill issue on your part 😅 I've had none of those problems but then again i know what im actually doing. God you sound so dumb 😅
We don't care about what you think of the Asus Rog ally
Why are hating so much !!!
It's up to you to update it or not and most people know before reciving thier rog not to update to 319, but i don't blame you you want more views and this is the right way to do it
Bro blaming everything he saw
He just doesn't want any competition for his shitty PCs LMAO
I see no downside to buying a handheld gaming laptop/pc. This is pretty cool. Im not really in the steam or gamepass ecosystem yet... the ally is intriguing.
Thanks for cementing my choice in getting the ally
i love the asus ally 😂 been using it since it came out and i have no complaints
Every time I get a video from this channel in my feed, it is about not buying the ROG Ally
I don't get this guy's hate for the handheld, it ended up being extremely good performance wise.
I bought the ally. Honestly. Coolest thing I’ve ever bought. Shits on any handheld I’ve seen at that price
Just got mines.. thanks to this video now I regret not getting it sooner
Did they fix it since then?
I messed with an Ally in Best Buy, and I hated it. It felt so cheap and toy-like compared to the steam deck, which feels like a sturdy piece of hardware.
STEAMDECK OLED ALL THE WAY. ALLY USER'S IS COOK AFTER GN VID 😂
I need help…
I don’t want to build my own pc, because I have no clue how to build, and shipping costs for each individual part is hella expensive.
So I saw a prebuilt pc that is slightly over 1000$ with these specs:
Intel i5 12th gen
RTX 3070
16g ram
512g ssd (not good, I know)
Which is the best option that I have seen.
Seems good for that price as long as the seller is reputable. I would like more ram myself, but 16gb seems to be the new standard for the recommended absolute minimum. Can always get a larger ssd later if you see it on sale.
@@XionSteel yea it is a known store in a famous shopping mall. (They said they might replace the graphics to a 4060 for the same price)
And they even said that I can choose the parts and they will build it and prepare it in a day.
I would rather have the 3070..
I bought an ally a few weeks ago, and I would say it was the best decision I have ever made instead of purchasing a steam deck that runs Linux and can not even run many games from ubisoft, ea, and epic stores. It is a complete no-go. Cannot even run many games from Steam itself.
I’d say don’t buy either. Buy a pc or laptop.
I got close to buying a Steam Deck in 2021-2022 but now decided to build a PC. I don't need portability
It actually runs better than steam deck while in performance and charging with new update brother
It runs better 1% of the time when windows isn't being a resource hog
Someone is sponsored by steam
Don’t listen to this guy, as an ROG owner this thing is fucking incredible.
ROG is made by Asus which has been giving some very bad hardware and customer service the past few decades...
