Hi Leah I’m in the exact position as you, I was devastated reading my results this morning I cried for hours. I’ve lost my medicine offer and that’s been playing on my mind all day today. Just like you I sacrificed everything to study before the exams revising nearly everyday thinking I had it in the bag and that I’d receive the grades I wanted. Knowing that I didn’t receive them killed me this morning. But like you said we get knock backs and it’s how we choose to get ourselves back up that counts. I fully believe you can do this. I’m hopefully going to ask for re marks although I know there’s little hope in an improvement for me. I’m now fully determined to take the summer exams which I’m guessing you are as well. I really do think we can do this! Xx
Can I just say I feel for you so much. It sounds like you've had an awful year but please don't give up. I can tell how strong you are and I truly believe that you will be able to make it. In 2019 due to a number of reasons I got ACD in my A levels. I moved school, spent the next year revising for Chem and Bio and got A*A*A. I retook my UCAT in summer and am now on my gap year working in a hospital. I found out I had an offer to study Medicine at Exeter two days ago. It's definitely possible, you've got this!! xx
I’m so sorry to hear about this. It takes a different level of determination to pick yourself up after 7 months of no help and then in 6 weeks sit an exam. Most people would not have it in them to do that. Defo recommend you resit. Look into which med schools are good for that, some of them defo are. As a patient I would feel like I’d be in good hands with someone like you who was so determined to be there as a doctor. Rooting for you.
I know it’s so cliche to say, but I would take this rejection as a redirection. You’re going to have the best 2 gap years and going to have such a unique story to tell. You know that you’ll get there and I’m so so exited for you and your future in the next 2 years, and for when you get into medical school. You are an inspiration and congratulations on actually achieving those results anyway and for not giving up and sitting them. I doubt you got any support from your school for revision- I did a gcse and got none at all- so well done ‘Dr Leah’. And it’ll be easier next time as you know what to do to improve. Wishing you all the best. Xx

It may not be what you were planning for but in the end you will get what you deserve as hard as it may be after all that effort, keep it up, trust the process and you will get to that place that you worked so hard for.
Hi Leah, I admire your ability to come and take a reflective approach with this news. Your attitude and drive is going to get you into medicine. As someone who didn’t get into medicine first time I can relate to this. Please look into contextual offers/foundation years and see if you’re eligible for any. With your grades, you would get an unconditional with contextual/foundation offers - having one offer like this could be a sure way of getting into med after your gap year
Hello, I am Alevel 2021, I am so worried about my Alevel result and would like to get advice on resit. I will go to resit my Alevel when I can’t get the grade I need on 10/8. And would like to know how to apply to medicine as a resit 🙏🏻
im so sorry :(( i was a bit disappointed in my history grade too so i hope you don’t feel alone in this. its clear from your videos you worked really hard and you should be proud of that regardless
Leah please don’t worry. I was in a very similar position to you, did undergrad biomed and then got into medicine. God will work things out🙏🏾. Don’t work full time- maybe part time or bank so that you can use your time wisely. You’ve got this! exams are not a reflection on how integumentary and well articulate you are 💜💜
I honestly feel you and wish you the bestest of luck, you are in my prayers and I applaud you for your attitude towards this and I'm still so proud of you! and if you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get work experience and what will your roles be?
hey leah could please tell me where did u get the information about the things u said in 4:20. i wanna do biomed and then postgraduate medicine and i didn't know the gov changed things.
aw bless you you worked so hard don't give you have such a passion for medicine!! have you considered doing medicine with a foundation year? in which they'd be more lenient on the grades. It might be preferable to taking another gap year?
Hey leah, why don’t you consider medicine with a foundation year. You can get into it with grades as low as BBC (bristol, plymouth, UEA, nottingham, southampton) you can still get in. You did amazing🥰
Leah babe, nothing is embarrassing and everything happened for a reason. You did the best you could in the time you had, but at least there is still an option to try again. If medicine in Ashton was Gods plan then it WILL happen, but if it doesn’t then there’s another purpose and plan waiting for you. Pray pray pray and ask God what he REALLY WANTS FROM YOU THEN!!you smashed it regardless and you will always be loved!!!💕💕💕💕
You should be so proud of yourself Leah. You sat those exams without the full teaching time in such a difficult year and you still came out with some good grades. You’re so resilient and in the end that is definitely going to pay off (I got a D in A level maths and somehow I’ve made it to med school so it’s possible). Keep going gal, all of this will be worth it in the end 💖💖💖💖
If you had to deal with bereavement this year, you should put that in your application for next year for the medical school. Ask for special considerations before you apply again. The idea is to mention this in the application, not when you get your results. I would even mention to the schools you applied this year, you never know.
hello leah , congratulations on getting your grades, our cambridge result is about to be released next week , so is there any hope that they give any leniency or lower the gts for us ?
Hey, I'm sorry for your bad news. My brother was in the same position as you and had to sit Bio and Chem as well. He thankfully got the grades, but we were all feeling sick this morning. If you want to do Biomed/a degree before pursuing med school, go for it!! Although atm previous degrees don't count towards the foundation programme, they still do count for Core Training points ect. So don't let that stop you. If you're planning to do exams in 2021, good luck!! Good luck lovely!! If you're close to getting the A in the chem, try giving it for a remark if possible. As a fellow med student- you can do this!!!
God Bless you, you will surely become a doctor one day, especially with your growth mindset and determination. Trust in Our Almighty God, He knows best xx

hey girl, please don't lose hope, the university of Nicosia has teamed with st Georges, they do a 6 yeah md course, they are want ABB so if you want always try there but the thing is they don't look at extended project, but they are still open you could always try, I pray you gain what the lord places on your life. hope that helped
My brother got ABB last year and managed to get a place at Southampton university for medicine after initially rejecting him. Trust in God there is still hope
Leah, so sorry to hear this! Realise that you’ve worked SO hard with so much dedication. Don’t give up please, Aston Medical School needs you! Will you be resitting next year? x
I was reading the latest Aston FOI for medicine and they did let quite a few students in who missed their grades by one or two. Maybe check with them as they could let you in?

omds i just want to give you a hug 🥺🥺 keep your head high beautiful don’t let your crown fall 👑💗
aw thank you🥺💜 it’ll be ok in the end!
Hi Leah, I admire your ability to come and take a reflective approach with this news. Your attitude and drive is going to get you into medicine. As someone who didn’t get into medicine first time I can relate to this. Please look into contextual offers/foundation years and see if you’re eligible for any. With your grades, you would get an unconditional with contextual/foundation offers - having one offer like this could be a sure way of getting into med after your gap year
Also, if you want to talk more about applying as a resit/contextual offers/foundation years, or just to vent I’m happy to!
Hello, I am Alevel 2021, I am so worried about my Alevel result and would like to get advice on resit. I will go to resit my Alevel when I can’t get the grade I need on 10/8. And would like to know how to apply to medicine as a resit 🙏🏻
InshaAllah sis! You’ll get to do medicine! You deserve it man,I believe in you🥺
thank you🥺💜
im so sorry :(( i was a bit disappointed in my history grade too so i hope you don’t feel alone in this. its clear from your videos you worked really hard and you should be proud of that regardless
thank you 🥺 we can do it
@@LeahRebecca we can!!! (also uhgood by RM was my comfort song when revision was too difficult the lyrics are perfect i recommend)
I wish I could give you a hug right now 🥺 Don’t loose hope and keep working hard ❤️
thank you🙏🏾❤️❤️
Stay strong, your hard work will be rewarded. There is a reason for everything 🙏🏾
Thank you I will 🙏🏾
❤️ You will find another way. Lovely grades by the way!!
thank you!
Leah please don’t worry. I was in a very similar position to you, did undergrad biomed and then got into medicine. God will work things out🙏🏾. Don’t work full time- maybe part time or bank so that you can use your time wisely. You’ve got this! exams are not a reflection on how integumentary and well articulate you are 💜💜
thank you🥺🙏🏾
And THEY AUDACITY TO PUT QUESTIONS FROM TOPICS AT THE END OF THE SYLLABUS!!! 🥴😂💀
fr soo much of them too I was shocked 😭😭😭😭
I am not gonna rant on about how much I can relate to this because I know God *will* make a way! He *will* surely make a way. ❤️🙏🏾
😭 amen🙏🏾
I honestly feel you and wish you the bestest of luck, you are in my prayers and I applaud you for your attitude towards this and I'm still so proud of you! and if you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get work experience and what will your roles be?
thank you sm🥺💜 it’s on the jobs.nhs.uk website theres lot of jobs💜
healthcare assistant so helping nurses and doctors taking blood pressures, helping patients eat etc
@@LeahRebecca okay thank you so much and you got this sis x I believe in you and I'm so inspired by your strength
hey leah could please tell me where did u get the information about the things u said in 4:20. i wanna do biomed and then postgraduate medicine and i didn't know the gov changed things.
aw bless you you worked so hard don't give you have such a passion for medicine!! have you considered doing medicine with a foundation year? in which they'd be more lenient on the grades. It might be preferable to taking another gap year?
im so sorry that this has happened, please never give up because we need you as a doctor 🥺❤️
🥺🥺🥺 thank you i’ll keep trying i
Nooo you worked soo hard. I guess whatever happened was for the best, we just don't know it. Keep up the amazingg work!!!
true thank you
Hey leah, why don’t you consider medicine with a foundation year. You can get into it with grades as low as BBC (bristol, plymouth, UEA, nottingham, southampton) you can still get in. You did amazing🥰
So sorry to hear this Leah :(( do you think you'll sit the summer exam in 2021?
yes ahh
@@LeahRebecca I’m doing them too dw❤️ we got this
@@user-tq6kh1jx2y yea me too fuck man
@@charliestewart885 I wasn’t brave enough to sit them in autumn, so I’m also sitting in summer!
@@MegA-zd8bf ,, if you did them in autumn can you enter to do them w ur school again in summer or am i gonna have to go private ::
Leah babe, nothing is embarrassing and everything happened for a reason. You did the best you could in the time you had, but at least there is still an option to try again. If medicine in Ashton was Gods plan then it WILL happen, but if it doesn’t then there’s another purpose and plan waiting for you. Pray pray pray and ask God what he REALLY WANTS FROM YOU THEN!!you smashed it regardless and you will always be loved!!!💕💕💕💕
thank you Tumi🥺🥺 it’s true like maybe this year wasn’t for God’s plan so onwards and upwards 💗
You should be so proud of yourself Leah. You sat those exams without the full teaching time in such a difficult year and you still came out with some good grades. You’re so resilient and in the end that is definitely going to pay off (I got a D in A level maths and somehow I’ve made it to med school so it’s possible). Keep going gal, all of this will be worth it in the end 💖💖💖💖
thank you so much Lydia 😭💜 there really are so many routes to med🙌🏾
Lydia does graduate entry medicine at Southampton 🙌🏾
I’m sure there’s a foundation year to medicine you can apply for don’t lose hope of your dreams !!!!
thats true thank you🙏🏾
I'm excited for your future. Don't give up.
thank you, I won’t 🙏🏾
If you had to deal with bereavement this year, you should put that in your application for next year for the medical school. Ask for special considerations before you apply again. The idea is to mention this in the application, not when you get your results. I would even mention to the schools you applied this year, you never know.
I wish you good luck by the way and you are so strong and resilient to sit the Autumn exams.
@@oliviugavrilescu that’s true i hadn’t thought of it🥺 thank you
hello leah , congratulations on getting your grades, our cambridge result is about to be released next week , so is there any hope that they give any leniency or lower the gts for us ?
thanks i'm not sure but I hope so! good luck
As a fellow med student- you can do this!!!
thank you!!
God Bless you, you will surely become a doctor one day, especially with your growth mindset and determination. Trust in Our Almighty God, He knows best xx
amen thank you🙏🏾💜
I’m so sorry you didn’t they the grades you wanted 💞💞 God has still got you
Thank you 🙏🏾
Yeah they didn't lower grade boundries. Most ppl r still disappointed 😞
😭😭
Aren't the boundaries based off of how the students perform though?
I gave the international As exams and results come out in January, my heart has dropped to the deepest of pits reading these comments.
I hope you do well💜
same girl.CIE chem was actually so hard
@@LeahRebecca I GOT MY RESULTS!! I got two As and a B in biology, I was expecting a C lol
@@alizahhassan1702 well done🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hey I’ve just stumbled across this video and I just wanted to say ❤️ keep going xx
thank you 🥺❤️
I am in y14 getting tag grades in august do you think I’ll be able to do the autumn exams or they tell me I can’t because I’m in year 14 btw this is my first time actually getting a level results as I retook year 12 plus good luck with your cags results I hope you get your grades in august
thanks aw i think theyl let everyone do the autumn exams, probably make us pay but don't worry: I hope you do so well!
hey girl, please don't lose hope, the university of Nicosia has teamed with st Georges, they do a 6 yeah md course, they are want ABB so if you want always try there but the thing is they don't look at extended project, but they are still open you could always try, I pray you gain what the lord places on your life. hope that helped
thank you sm🙏🏾 looking into it💜
Keep going girl God has you
🙏🏾💜
good luck 🍀
My brother got ABB last year and managed to get a place at Southampton university for medicine after initially rejecting him. Trust in God there is still hope
Sorry to hear this. Have you ever thought of European entry? Studying medicine in Bulgaria for example
yes perhaps this year I could try and save for the fees thanks🙏🏾
Leah, so sorry to hear this! Realise that you’ve worked SO hard with so much dedication. Don’t give up please, Aston Medical School needs you! Will you be resitting next year? x
thank you ❤️i will be
Waiting to welcome you here 💖💖
Why they didn’t lower the grade boundaries wtf...
Have you ever considered applying outside of the UK like germany?
yes if im able to save up a lot this year for tuition fees i may apply to Georgia or Belarus😭
they didn't lower the grade boundaries bc it had to match so the grade percentages arent inflated
I was reading the latest Aston FOI for medicine and they did let quite a few students in who missed their grades by one or two. Maybe check with them as they could let you in?
really could i have the link?ty

I really feel for you Leah, idk how medicine applications work but have you considered resitting in the summer, that’s what I’m opting for as well with psychology😭
yeah i will have to resit ahh itll be okay
@@LeahRebecca I’m in the same boat, good luck to us, your videos have seriously been helping me stay sane
Defo get an NHS job. Medicine school value commitment to the NHS 🙂
You will go very far honey 🤞
thank you interviewing soon!
So if they don’t take account bio med then what are the advantages of doing bio med sorry I am a bit confused 😭
right 😭 It would still be useful once you’re applying for specialty/consultancy jobs😅
@@LeahRebecca oh that’s good! Sorry for the confusion 😭 and I wish you all the best for the future ❤️ everything that happens is God’s plan and remember grades don’t define you!! Good luck Leah! 😌
So proud ❤️
Where do find the grade boundaries from can't find it for chem and bio
on the exam websites
Hi, the exams will be around £60 each if you do it with your sixth form ❤️
thanks was worried about that
It's more when I checked - eg: A-Level AQA is like £80-£90
OCR is like £107
and Edexcel is £120-£130
@@harveersingh9970 it’s a lot cheaper than £800 like she said in the video, plus private centres, each exam is around £200-£300 so doing it with ur sixth from is a lot easier
@@sam-wu2ff woah is my sixth form ripping me off? They showed me the exam board prices and said I had to pay that
@@harveersingh9970 I don’t know😩😩 mine are all with AQA tho?
So u aren't doing biomed?
What exam board did u do for chme

Hey I haven’t finished the video but I’ve got the gist, I just wanted to say I’m currently on my second gap year (before med) and it’s been a rough but I’ve learnt a lot through it about gap year/dealing with gap years, so if you want to talk please message me I’m happy to listen if you want to vent/talk through things/need advice
