Recreating a MrBeast Thumbnail in Photoshop

- In order to make better thumbnails that get a higher click-through rate and get more views, today I'm attempting to recreate one of my favourite MrBeast thumbnails from scratch in photoshop.
We'll go over the whole process, from taking the necessary photos to cutting out the images in 2 clicks and then making them all look like one cohesive scene.
So if you want to know how to make a UA-cam video thumbnail like mr Beast, then this video is for you!
Why am I doing this?
Mr beast, or Jimmy, has one of the most successful UA-cam channels in the history of the platform. My main goal for this channel is to simply get better at the game of UA-cam. Therefore I want to study what the best of the best do and learn how to do it myself.
My hope is that by taking this approach, I'll get better at making UA-cam videos, get better at making thumbails and be able to make a full-time living impacting lives and having fun.
And of course, I hope you all learn a thing or two too!

I think on the green colorize layer, you probably could have used a "blend if" adjustment to let the darker browns come through instead of painstakingly painting them. However, I realize that would make the next step where you brought the browns up in saturation need a different approach. Still, it might be something you try experimenting with in the future.
I will admit that I myself enjoy the painting process, so I honestly understand if you prefer doing it this way) Great video)
Picking perfect green color range with the hue and saturation picking color tool is the fastest route

I am quite familiar with creating designs in photoshops but couldn't exactly recreate his style of thumbnails (maybe a bit of a creative block) so went on to UA-cam,searched up a little bit, and found your video! I need to buy a graphics tablet as soon as i earn some money because it's hella tough to do designs without that (the dodging and burning and other stuff). Great Stuff Btw.

Hey I was completely copy pasting your progress on my own (test) thumbnail and I can say I learned a few new things I didn't even know I was ever able to do.. But as a tip I would say: show some keys your pressing because sometimes I had a hard time following what u clicked. For example the ALT clipping, I'm on Macbook and had a hard time finding it. But thanks for this interesting course!

You should try to create shadows with exposure or curves, not colors with blednings. But it is up to you
Suggestion: Changing Title to "Recreating MrBeast Thumbnail" might be better than "I recreated a MrBeast Thumbnail from Scratch..."

The only difference is that the wall, mrbeast and the soldier have a lighting coming from right to left this allows mr beast to have a little more color on his wall and the face of character popping more. Finally, popping whites on the tank and making it bigger may have been better. Again the diference are minimal!

I think your only mistake is that mr beast's thumbnails is focused on set his facetone on the warm tone like red and orange to pop it more but you didn't fix that, but also i think your work was pretty good👍🏻

Thanks for video, there is many things to learn from this. The only thing that is better on mr beast thumbnail is the clothes of soldier. It looks like from game, do u have any idea how it is done?

nice but the biggest problem in the image was you look out of place you don't feel part of the image and the masking of the tank is very bad because the shadow isn't proper and another problem is the men coming down from the helicopter they feel like they are falling not coming down with a rope

@@Validation Any learning resources you'd be able to recommend? Considering that Pixlr (lol) has switched to paid memberships I'm thinking about finally taking the jump to a Photoshop membership, but also I just need to get better at editing (and lighting, and sound) in general. It's...a lot.
