I switched from photoshop to photopea and its great! one thing to note is that you can "download" photopea. its technically still running through your browser but keybinds like ctrl+t will now transform like normal. im pretty sure fullscreening photopea within the web browser will also let you transform with ctrl+t
@@ShantanuBaviskar If you go to the photopea website in google chrome, a download button pops up next to the bookmark button. It only works in chrome though, and I'm 65% sure it also only works in windows.
Photopea was THE software I needed to comfortably switch to Linux on my main desktop PC. That was 3 years ago and I'm now a happier person. Thanks Ivan!

There's also Vectorpea which is a "Free illustrator" and it works super well + For me photopea works a bit snappier on chrome than firefox + Check the "hardware acceleration" option in chrome settings it makes a difference in performance

In case you dont already know, you can disable firefox tabs and toolbar auto-hiding when going fullscreen mode in hyprland by right clicking the toolbar in firefox and unchecking 'hide toolbar' option. This option is not available when youre not in fullscreen mode btw
for CTRL+T to work you need to go full screen at the top or F11, then no more new tabs, same goes for any shortcuts that affects the browser, go fullscreen

For me Krita is best free Photoshop. In theory it is more for drawing/painting, but you can use it as PS alternative(editing). MUCH BETTER comparing to GIMP. You should try it just for fun. And as I said, if you like to draw, Krita is the best.

I was using Gimp for years, but this video and comments made me try this one out, and I really like how it works. And it was cool to use this video as a semi-tutorial and try to make the same thumbnail at the same time
As frustrating as it has been to migrate my workflow to it......I simp for Krita as the best alternative to Photoshop. It's FOSS (so no ads like Photopea) and runs on both Windows and Linux, but doesn't make my eyes bleed like GIMP. I've used an old version of Adobe Fireworks for years, and decided to move to another option since it's getting harder to maintain a compatible way to use it. While I don't know Photoshop, my understanding is that Fireworks was discontinued because Photoshop has the same features. So far Krita has been able to do everything I needed for my workflow, aside from the headache of the learning curve trying to figure out where the options are (and their alternate names).
Krita ftw honestly. I use gimp and krita interchangablly depending on what im doing. Krita is so much better than gimp but both have their pros and cons :3
I used Photopea in college I couldn’t afford Adobe programs, Photopea is alright but it’s very limited, especially when it came to using big mock-up files it would constantly crashes. I’m so glad now I’ve Adobe now because don’t have limitations on any personal projects. This was a great video

The thing I love the most about Photopea is that most Photoshop tutorials from like 10 or even 5 years ago will be able to be followed just fine. Not possible with GIMP. And the fact that if push comes to shove I can launch Photopea on my phone, I know, GIMP can do the same, but Photopea saved my butt SO MANY TIMES because I could just open the site on my phone. It's fantastic. Some people complain that Adobe is messing with their Photoshop CS6 license, I say - to hell with that! Photopea is even more feature-rich than that version.

Despite that, they won’t let you download the app directly. However, if you use a website scraper, you can access and use it offline.

When you open up the drop down where you can navigate to the setting of your browser, from there you can actually install photopea as an App on your pc. Its still a simulated browser, but you dont see your bookmarks etc. And CTRL + T works without alt. This way you have a more dedicated experience. Definetly More Lightweight than Photoshop.

As a graphic designer, whenever I’m on trips and I forgot to bring my laptop and I have to get something done really quickly I always do it in Photopea, it’s all that more people don’t try it as it’s a great free alternative to Photoshop
I don't regularly use photo editing, but found through searching Photopea can create a transparent gif for my signature. It was surprisingly simple also.
You say that the only problem is that it has become laggy once. This makes the experience even more familiar because adobe can't seem to ship a fluid to use product.
I used photopea prior to this video for one of my projects at school, I can comfortably say I got it done but on my computer there was nothing but crashing and lagging so it also meant restarting the project since I didn’t know how to save. Other than this one thing it was really good and was exactly like photoshop when I use it at school.

2:13 Photopea has custom shapes and one of the categories is brand shapes. Just had to say it because you can choose the color of the shape or even use gradients or even patterns. Even a stroke color can be picked.

To pick a color, you can take a screenshot by using windows + shift + s and then bring the screenshot into photopea and then pick the color
