I have a question. The rear airbag has a level 1 protection and they say that it is equivalent to 7 back protectors. Level 1 must transmit a force of less than 35 kiloNewtons, level 2 must transmit less than 20 kN. How is it equivalent to 7 back protectors if it transmits more force than a level 2 back protector in case of impact? I mean if it is equivalent to 7 level 1 back protectors as indicated in the photo, the force should be divided by 7, it should transmit less than 3 KN as advertised.
Hi, i've had the same question and apparently it is level 1 rating for an airbag which is not the same as level 1 rating for a typical back protector. Hope this helps

One if worst airbag vest , most of the airbag vest's will cover more area of your upper body , the only good thing about this airbag is that u can wear it on the top of u jacket
I assume that the protections body is not only about coverage but compromise of safety and daily use. Dainese is the inventor of the airbag and very serious company, i guess its the best airbag technology on the market 🤔
Depends what you use it for, I use mine for track use I ride in a 1 piece suit with D air built in I can turn it on and off so on the street it’s on on the Track it’s of, alpine stars tech air is rubbish their race series is to uncomfortable and honestly dainese is as far as racing goes the most complete
I get the sentiment, and understand there's definitely progress to be made in protection for motorcyclists. But the claim is never made that this is the end all be all to protection. And ultimately, as motorcyclists we should understand that we are putting ourselves into more danger every time we ride on the road on a motorcycle. There's no way around that. This product will without a doubt save lives. It's not a perfect solution, but don't let perfect be the enemy of good. This is progress in the right direction. I'm hoping to see lots more innovation in the motorcycling world myself, but this is going the right direction, without a doubt.
@@firacingast Understood but the alpinestars jacket has protected shoulders for years and now also hips with the new jacket. But as you say there is some good protection from this jacket.
I've been comparing the two and both have major compromises. Arguably your neck and spine are most important to avoid being paralyzed if your head gets forced backwards on impact. Haven't found and electronic airbag that saves the neck like that. Only my helite airbag has that, but its clunky and I wish Dainese or Alpinestars would make something without compromises
@@steve00alt70 Yeah I have the original tethered model. I recently bought a Klim Ai-1 rally during Black Friday sales to try out. I'm not fully sold on the collarbone support on the Klim, but the support behind the neck seems good.
Raced with both the tech air race and D air built in to my leathers D air is leagues ahead never had it deploy on the track but on the streets have sadly had both deploy and I can assure you the Dair is much better
Eh your missing the sides of the torso and lats area. It should protect 360 degrees, and just get a car to run over it instead of the motorcycle then we can talk money. Its nearly 2023 we should have 360 degree airbag protection as standard by now.
Got mine a few weeks ago! Never ride without it! I love Dainese
ahaha he barely touched it with the hammer
That was kinda funny

why not just wear a back armour level 2, then a hardshell spine protector then an airbag vest aswell? that will solve it.
Can this jacket be used for downhill biking on the mountains as well?
Of course
If we use smart jacket for car or truck driver, will it work?
i don't see why not , it should work !
How sensitive is it? Would it go off by hitting potholes or small bumps?
Yeah it goes off when you sneeze be careful
Lol, dude just tapped it with the hammer.
Regardless how hard you hit it then still tapps it lol good eye sir though I was the only one observed that 🤣
I love working here ☺️
I like that helmet. Anyone know what model it is ?

Wonder why you have stopped making these leather jackets ?
Le mec on dirait une parodie de présentateur loooool mais c'est tellement bluffant techniquement que ça m'a convaincu😉
can i wear it under my jacket or hoodie?
Lots of front and rear protection, but where is the side of the body protection? Better than the competion - dont think so !
Dainese pour la vie💞🤗✌🏍💪

Unfortunately it doesn't protect the shoulders and the upper arms...

Get the Helite Turtle instead. No sending it back evert year with a cost of €€
I would say...lots of BS here. Most covered area? like...where's the shoulder and neck? yeah right...
You have the standard rigid protection of the armor of the jacket for the shoulders and the neck is inflated to keep it from moving.

Give me that hammer and you will see :) Also, the compatition does not have airbag on the front size? Really?? :)
How about you fix the D-Air app? It is TERRIBLE. I should not have bought this jacket.
How is it terrible? You install it, it checks for firmware updates and allows you to update the jacket or put it into transport mode.
