I'm certain I followed your values perfectly, in fact I went back and checked all twice. I'll have another go and up the needle value past 350, perhaps I missed a value, but don't think so...?

Maybe someone just telled you this but: I want to give you only one little advise: in the video you tell that if you select the tree (or other objects) before end setting it, setting disappear. well you can show them back again by press the F9 key on keyboard (wirh object selected).

I follow your tutorial step by step, but in my blender 3.0 it seem that the addons add too many leaves on the top and much less on the bottom. so I have a tree that on top seem a Christmas tree, on the bottom it seem a dead nature (the branches shown, and its ugly). is there a way to distribute better the leaves? or I'm wrong something? If you want I can send you my render (I don't know how)

@@legoman91 Hmm... you could turn up the size of the leaves a little. Or just watch through the starting of the tutorial again and make sure you got all of the settings.
I really like this video! It totally feeds my Christmas addiction lol. One thing though, there seems to be a compatibility issue your tree build using the sapling addon in newer versions of Blender. I'd really like to see a remake in the future :) thanks for the vid!
As a curious project I tried to destribute the pine tree on a plane with a collection info node in geometry nodes. I found out that sometimes they choose both of the objects (trunk and leaves) but mostly just one of them... is there any way you can try and think of a fix to this?
I could not even find the sapling add on to set up the tree to get started, I am on Blender 3.41 so not sure yet probably will just make my own sapling but any advice to help me add this addon would be much appreciated.
I was told the box drop down selection was NOT triplanar, yet you have a blend seams... Is it or is it not a triplanar mapping? Inquiring minds want to know...
@@RyanKingArt See, I told Chipp that and he told me nah ah. He has a true triplanar node in his materials set. That's why I ask. I was used to Redshift that had a triplanar node, so it wasn't "new" to me... and/or was it Substance Painter or Designer... I've been doing too much Geonodes... I thought the box was triplanar too, and fml, I forgot why he said it wasn't a "true" triplanar... Now I have to figure out a way to ask him again and not sound disrespectful that Idr what he said the first time he explained it to me last month. Maybe I'll play with both ways to add a material to a cube and see if they behave identically or not... when he showed me, they did behave differently... but idr how...

Why when I do EXACTLY the same as in the tutorial with the same values, add-ons activated, I reproduced all these every move, I still have a sick tree 😭 The branches are more visible than the thorns, I tried putting more thorns and changing a few other settings but nothing to do, the branches always take over the thorns ... On the tuto the tree is quite bushy, mine (on which there are supposed to be 2 times more thorns) is already at the end of its life ...
I downloaded 3.10 scultp dev from b launcher so turns out array brush they pablo was working on was added so i think if you change it to anchore and decrease count to one then it's insertmesh brush technically try it
@@RyanKingArt tons of other stuff I got it from blender launcher went experimental and downloaded sculpt dev by mistake I put the files for the program in my desktop deleted it thinking it's a virus I regret that

Whoever gets a tree that looks like a dry bush, try changing the value of the leaves from 350 to 1250.

I used 350. But I found that it was not consistent, and sometimes needed more or less. So just change it to your liking.
Well I tried doubling it and even that still looked a bit bare, unless there is some other setting somewhere that I am missing

Gone through it 4 or 5 times, pretty sure I got everything, but yeah will try playing with size settings I guess, see what happens
It's almost as if the leafs are only being generated near the trunk and gets very thin towards the end instead of being evenly generated

hmm, maybe join the objects together? Or add them into the same collection, and then use collection info instead of object info.

what version of "Sapling Tree Gen" add on are you using?
Looks nice but, can you click a setting to tip the branches down. Branches that are long ar weight down will start to sag a little

Edit: I just try the addon in blender 3 and all work fine, in case other people have the same problem, maybe is a problem with the 2.93.6 of blender.
