@@WestProZ17 He should change his overall view about any game he stream or convince himself that this is just a job to get money , or otherwise he will hit the same wall of genshin lol
So, did you seriously expect that nothing would improve in two and a half years? Really? 1st - Genshin is free to play too. You can close story with free characters. And Barbara is great healer too. 2nd -gacha system is totally same. Yes, you get bonus 5*, not Noelle (who can solo close most of end game content), but that is not big deal, it is a hook. 3rd - energy doesn't change anything You logged in twice a day in the first game to spend energy and you'll log twice a day into another game to spend energy. 3.5 - infinite stamina, but for what? Where to run? You are locked in the hallway. 4th - daily commisions. Yap, that's is better. You get 65 (5 from the daily call) and can faster close that game. Get one medium quality story instead of four per day (shrooms: JUMP! JUMP!). They all new? For the two weeks - yes. For the two years? Are you sure? 5th - Here you are completely right. Two replayeble endgame content. But why you never play in Rougelike or Rougelite games? You are so happy from somethins so usual. 5.5 - btw, after you complete the Forgotten Hall you can find the regular Abyss from Genshin. Mb you know that.
Here's more points : - Better Npc stories - More depth to character personalities - the comedy and the movie/show references - more end game - the number of existing chests is mentionned in game so that you don't miss any - Shorter yet more interesting character stories - almost as many male characters as female ones - you only need to lose pity once on the weapon banner so the next one is guarenteed - portable crafting table (dear god was it enoying to have to travel to another location to craft something) - the fact that all playable characters are meetable in the open world (unlike genshin where it seems they poof out of existance if they aren't involved in a quest) - faster to do daily quests - the ability to farm the same weekly boss 3 times in the same week + each boss has only one type of level up mat (unlike genshin that has 3 per boss) - you can farm some level up mats throu expeditions (unlike genshin where you NEED to go fight enemies to get their mats) - the ability to recruit a friend's support character (unlike genshin where you have to play co-op if you'r low level and need help for farming) - the fact that you get fragments that you can exchange for a 4 star weapon of your choice from a store (unlike genshin where it could take you months to drop the type of billet you need) - the fact that weapons are replaced by light cones which makes it that there is a WAY bigger diversity in the weapons the characters use (unlike genshin where all characters fall under one of the 5 weapon types) - the fact the trailblazer is allowed to talk (instead of having an annoying flying creature not only talk for you but also repeat what has already been said).
I still love Genshin to bits but another thing that I like better in Star Rail is the fact that the calyxes don't have schedules and bosses do not respawn. Makes farming much more easier!
I CANNOT tell you how many times Welt has saved my ass in a boss fight with his ult. Imprisonment is just OP af and I just know the next character that has it on their ability will be a real game changer, too.
yeah, Welt is solid even on bosses that are immune to imprisonment. His slow and dmg amp are still very good, but on anything he can imprison he's straight up busted. Him allowing your team more actions between enemy actions can be HUGE for many encounters, allowing you to shield break before big attacks when you couldn't otherwise, AND allowing more actions to a shieldbroken enemy before they recover. VERY strong. But his dmg amp working after final damage (and thus scaling up with other sources of dmg amplification) is incredible and I think is going to scale well moving forward, even if it is only 12%. Plus his personal damage is nothing to scoff at either.
The genshin community doesn't want any improvements, haven't you seen over the years how they attack anyone who has mild criticism to give? let them rot
@@ch1dd most people DO want improvement, it's just the fact some people such as content creators ONLY focus on the the bad parts and critique it every moment they can get but im pretty sure most do wish for better
@@sakiamira It's not that, the game is legitimately better structurally. It's just cheaper for mihoyo to make a new game instead of changing something that the playerbase will eat up no matter what shape it comes out in. Something similar will probably happen with ZZZ when it comes out, launching better than the current state of genshin.
@@mintsugas I don't know man, when every time someone criticizes it because they enjoy the game and want it to be the best it can be the community responds with "I don't have a problem with that so it's not a problem", and "you should just stop playing", that's far from wanting improvements. It's like they're defending some poor first grader's drawing from someone criticising, instead of this huge billionaire company that is providing a product. Other gachas doing better things they could always ignore, but now it's another gacha from the same company, doing things that people asked to be improved in genshin and they STILL try to talk others out of comparing the two, that's pretty stagnant behavior, not something from people who wish for the better.
the daily quest is not even important. it's the task list that is important.. just follow the ones you like there to complete it for free gems. Agree that in this game it is way faster to complete this than Genshin.
@@omarjohnson1336 thats bc its the start of the game, chars are made out of thin paper since they are lvl 60 fighting lvl 70 enemies or higher, im not saying healers are not gonna be necessary but it will reach a point where you can just brute force it
If i lose 50/50 in jing yuan’s banner imma spend probably unless i can calculate that ill get him till his banner ends. Plus, i want him to have the best so his BiS weapon would really be tempting
The fact that you can: 1. Far weekly bosses multiple times 2.Craft a costume 5* relic (even if it’s just once per version) 3. Not have to waste time grinding on multiple things to level up one character 4. Be given the chance to pick your 5* at 300pulls Made me love this game.
i wonder if because of all these reasons, people tend to spend more or less money than genshin. A game that treats their f2p players better might make them more willing to throw a few dollars at the game out of respect, or a game that abuses their f2p players might make them feel forced to spend money to keep playing. Who knows what is more profitable? The current mobile gaming landscape makes me feel like it is the latter. I just wish that people stopped throwing money at games which are designed to abuse you, like roadblocks that you need to spend money to get around. I like how in both these games the gating system is the adventurer level, which cannot be bought, so nomatter how much you spend a f2p player and gigawhale are always around the same level. But other games are not like this, like lost ark for example where you can literality buy levels so p2w players are able to unlock way more content and progress faster, and f2p players are left behind unless they slave away every single day like its a fulltime job.
One thing that wasnt mentioned. I think Star Rail does MC better as well. They talk more often with their own voice and you can see their progress. Like ending of Jarilo. While in Genshin...theres nothing really to the MC imo. And just to be clear, i like Genshin and playing it from the start. But some stuff you cant be blind for
And you forgot to talk about salvage. I reached TL 40 yesterday and was farming like crazy for 5* relics, but couldn't get a head piece for my Seele. Then i just salvaged 10 useless artifacts and MADE ME a 5* head piece. It was magical, i mean, all the frustration for getting bad relics simply went away, and i didn't felt like all the time i spent farming was meaningless, since i did close my 5* quantum set. This simple detail made farming no longer a nihilistic activity, and it changes everything. (And this is not even about self-modeling resin yet, btw)
When you're missing a head piece or a glove, salvaging is great. There are also less useless stats in this game which helps a lot with substats, and some things like energy recharge can't roll either, so the quality overall is better.
I don’t understand, blaming it on myself because I’m a lousy reader but salvaging for me gives me artifacts exp materials and I’m TL 43. Is there any other salvaging that I’m missing?
@@infernoblazes2299 Salvaging 5 star relics, instead of upgrading materials it'll give you a synthesizing material. You get 10 pieces per salvage, and with 100 you can create any piece of any set.
@@Phoenixcallo to choose the stats you need the battle pass reward at level 40, this normal salvaging gives a random main stat. It's great for masks and gloves since their main stat is fixed, though you can still gamble the other pieces all the same.
I never want to play Genshin again after experiencing Star Rail. It’s just better in almost every single way and the free to play experience is just so much smoother and more fair at the moment. Being able to choose a 5* at 300 pulls on standard is huge given how I’ve done like 800 pulls on Genshin’s standard and have yet to get Mona who I’ve wanted since release. Huge W for Star Rail, good game. Quests also don’t drag on for a Millenia. They feel much better paced and go quickly so doing them isn’t like a chore. I have so many unfinished quests in Genshin because the dialogue is just so exhausting.
1 thing Genshin MUST add is the characters standing in the overworld. Honkai does that already. It destroys the whole atmosphere...why isnt Lisa in the library for example? There is no reason not to do that. Players are more likely to wish for a Unit they like if they get reminded by seeing the Unit.
Yeah. I can agree. Not having to collect mushrooms all day and run around to do quests is way better. Plus there's no paimon to sit there and be annoying until yoy eat her. I rrally like hos the main character is actually useful in battle and doesnt suck. I still hate how you literally have to reset your takents and all that when you change the mc's element.
@@Skyeleafe Yeah I know that's what I was saying. In genshin you have to re-level the basic attack talent for traveler for every element which is weird because its always the same. But in star rail nothing about the MC is the same. The path is different, abilites, are different. So, it makes sense that you have to level up everything again. It's basically a whole new character
Auto battle is basically the Gambit System from Final Fantasy XII but in this game it's turn-based. Not as in depth but welcoming. It's a great addition to any game imo. I enjoy it as I can just auto while destroying peeps in Elden Ring invasions 😂 HSR is definitely F2P friendly though. Just make sure your units are built properly and scan the enemies before going into battle. It's really no different than your typical turn-based rpg game. Just a gacha with grinding equipment that takes time to get. Which is true for Final Fantasy/Xenosaga/ Legend of Hero's, etc games.
Dudeee 😭 I'm so glad someone else mentions the battle system from FF12, it's one of my favorites of all time, I think he would enjoy those kinds of games since they got optional and superbosses but I don't know if he'll be interested 👍 I would watch and see if he likes them tho.
Gambit system is one of the best turned base system for me, you can strategically make your characters do anything for you or make them waste your resources fast if it's not the right gambit 💀💀💀
One little tip, that you might already know, but if you really want to play more simulated universe, there's still some mat, credits and relic exp drops that cost no stamina, they are dropped from every elite and boss monster and drop 100 times a week (so 33 full runs total).
Sadly it's only the more regular materials and not the Trace exclusive ones, but it already cuts on the farming for people who want to spend more time in SU
it's actually stupid how good bronya is in almost every situation you will ever be in. Best skill point battery in the game bar none, and her skill is pretty amazing too.
I kinda wanna grab a copy of her on the standard banner someday cause her E1 is actually a cheat code. 50% chance for free skill usage on top of free turns? LOL
I never used to like turn based combat but the persona games really drew me in and now I adore good turn based combat, something I genuinely think star rail has nailed.
As a long time turn-based fan, I love hearing this. I mentioned to a friend that one of the aspects I love about this game is its potential to put a good turn-based game out to a broad audience.
I'm really excited to see how Star Rail will handle events compared to Genshin Impact. So far HoYovese has been really generous with rewards so I hope this momentum keeps up.
There's this one event in the beta where you can fight bosses with a very high hp like a raid setup. Summon the boss -> let other people/friends help you with killing the boss -> scoring system on how much damage you have dealt to the boss -> rewards. Now the real neat part is, even after getting all of the limited event rewards. You can still get more rewards like relics just by scoring and reaching a certain score threshold.
The dailies is HUGE for me. I stopped logging in to genshin because of how much I hated doing the daily commissions. The star rail dailies are way less infuriating.
Compared to Genshin, the 5 star standard banners are actually goated. To be fair, the chance to get the rated 5 star weapon in Genshin is also the same here in Star Rail but the difference is that its only one instead two so all the odds goes in favor to winning the 75/25 unlike in Genshin were it splits to 33/33/33
Well to be fair surely Hoyoverse has learned some stuff over the years of Genshin and applied it to Honkai Star Rail. Hopefully in turn the Genshin team can adapt some of the good stuff from the Honkai team 😁
@@phy6geniuxYTcreations Nah honkai is their favorite child so they’ll obviously improve it and I’m sure mostly everyone at this point realizes Genshin is turning into a cash cow game and not valuing gameplay as much anymore
@@zerovking7629 kinda cope to say this tbh. If they don't value GI they wouldn't continue to improve other aspects of the game like character design, openworld etc. Just cuz it doesn't have better qol than HSR doesn't mean it has no effort.
About farming, i finally got the Cat lady ( i am bad with names ) best support, i was in a restaurant with my friends and i put it on auto fight and i was able to enjoy my time and at the same time be able to get good materials. Thank god auto battle is only for farming not for story mode and stuff
Idk i feel like genshin is still quite f2p friendly however the fact you can choose any five star at 300 on standard banner and 50 for beginners is way better
When i started Genshin, i was just happy using Amber and Noelle. I tried rerolling there but no luck on a 5 star. While here in HSR, although I rerolled for a good 10+ attempts before getting a good account with Welt and Bronya as my first 5 stars. As of now i have 5 5 stars (Bronya, Welt, Seele, Clara, Himeko and i got 2 exclusive 5 star LCs ( Welt LC and Gepard LC) and i also got almost all of 4 star characters except Arlan. Which made me realize HSR really made a really good experience for us f2ps by giving a newbie banner with a guaranteed 5 star and a chance to reroll for a 2nd 5 star character.
One thing that isn't mentioned here is the ping of the game In Genshin I often times have to play with 150 ping that can get really horrible sometimes while in Honkai it almost doesn't matters since the game itself is turn based
We need some more content and events though 😭 there's nothing to do now. Genshin had the same issue at first, I wish they would have released with just a little more content.
My two biggest things is 1. how casual and low time commitment the game can be and 2. the story writing is just SO much better already. Sure it still has some issues but those issues are minuscule compared to my issues with Genshin's writing. Overall, I've found HSR's pros to cons ratio to be easily MUCH better than Genshin's pros to cons ratio.
To add: All the little quality of life changes in the UI, like one-button stripping Your arti...relics. I wish Genshin had that, this ui/ux is such an improvement over G.
What I like about hsr the most, is that it actually feels like a challenge. In Genshin, if you had the proper team/build, you could slay everything. Well, almost everything, even without a great comp. Here, if you don't have perfect builds, OR the 5* items, you can still complete stuff, IF you're playing your cards right. It was so hard for me to defeat the boss at the end of the Loufu planet, because I was still early in there with my characters and builds, but I did it second try, after I thought about how to approach it. I didn't change my team, or make them stronger...I just built up a strategy. Genshin lately (especially the spiral abyss) feels like - if you have the numbers, you win. Here, you don't even have to focus on the numbers, you just need to focus in general, which is awesome. Or you could focus on the numbers, of course - still, you have multiple choices to approach things.
Here are some points that I like in HSR but doesn't cover all of it. 1.) The "condensed resin" in HSR doesn't need crystalfly. (suggested this for Genshin cos I'm too busy now to jump jump and get crystalflies) 2.) Cook and synthesize anywhere. (very convenient) 3.) Autobattle ez (I can afk while doing other stuff) 4.) The 300 pity to get your preferred standard character. (I always get qiqi in Genshin when I lose the 50/50) 5.) The f2p lightcones (there's a wide range of lightcones even 3 stars can be used, hertha's store 4 star lightcones and the starlight exchange 5 star lightcones for each standard banner characters)
Galactic big lotto + the curio that doubles drops from breaking items + the curio that increases the likelihood of breakable items appearing is such a fun combo. You can end a run with like...over 18 curios.
4:59 The drop rates are the same. You are just comparing to your drop rates at low Trailblaize rank to max AR in Genshin 😂 Just do a low rank activity in star rail and compare it to low rank activity drop in genshin. You will get the same value. The only difference is light cone xp , relic xp, relic domain cost .. That is negated by more fuel given in free and paid BP + characters expeditions that give you free ressources daily
also plenty of qol changes. 1. you can change your character gear after clicking forgotten hall and you dont have to exit it to change weapons or articats etc 2. auto expedition dispatches where i dont have to reclick 3. from battle pass you can customize a relic. ik its once per bp but still its something
Tbh this game although it is fun but it doesn't feel like a game that I will spend years to play lemme explain 1) The wishing system is great and ez to get a 5 star but it makes the 5 star worth less value than Genshin like the hype is much lower, I mean if you are p2w in both game its almost non existent but for f2p genshin feels much more better 2) 5 stars in Genshin actually do something other the combat like I got scara just to move around the map so getting a 5 star in hsr feels like getting a different model and it feels like getting a skin not a actual character 3)daily is boring in HSR and it'll take less minutes than Genshin remember in Genshin although it takes longer to complete in the end game it's like the only content and I actually like to complete hidden achievements by completing them 4)Turned base will be fun for at max 1 year 5)the story is great but it's like lost ark story genshin plot is much bigger and has more depth and twists (in the end story is personal opinion you might like hsr more idk) But the actual good thing about this game is messaging system imo like it's super fun
I think the one thing Hoyo usually does great is early 4*s...they basically put in strong 4*s from the start which actively fights off powercreep (just like Bennet and Xianling do in Genshin ) and keep their game healthy. I am pretty sure units like Tingyun or MC willl keep this game healthy and not pay to win..regardless of how much stronger units they will introduce along the way. This time tho, I was also very postively surprised by the standard 5*s, a lot of them have actually also good Es, which is another nice touch to prolong their lifeline in Honkai. Tho to be fair to Genshin, the fact that after more than 2yrs Keqing(+dendro) and Mona(Morgana and just one shots) and even Jean (Xiao; sunfire) are still relevant for some teams and solid alternatives to some just released 5*s is a testament that while Hoyo does a LOT of things wrong, they trry harder than most similar games to actually balance their units.
All Mtashed compares between HSR and Genshin are actually not a problem. We are still in midgame HSR. But we will see that later after reaching lategame, everyone will beat Simulated Universe and Memories of Chaos easily, just like Spiral Abyss in Genshin. And that's when Mtashed will complaint the same thing in HSR and Genshin, that the game doesn't have enough content, or the lategame content is too easy to beat them all, or there is no actual endgame contents to play again and again. I can foresee this 😄
@@ch1dd I bet you never play Genshin at all, to say that HSR does every single thing better than it haha. Stop being new game hype fan only. If you played Genshin and didn't enjoy the game long enough, I can bet that HSR will make it even worse, cause the convenience they made in the game actually could even lower the playtime of the game contents because everything is more convenience potentially making players enjoy less playtime and get bored faster. Though it is common logic that HSR should at least be better overall than Genshin, due to the fact than HSR is released almost 3 years after Genshin. Hoyoverse must learned something from Genshin, didn't they. But still, there are things that makes both games different, or else people won't play HSR at all. Btw, I actually like new game hype fans, cause they make the game community alive. 😄
@@advendra6078 I'm not a new game hype fan, I played genshin last year for 6 months, the structure is absolutely horrible. Their art design and sound teams carry HARD, the game wouldn't be anything without them. But instead of implementing what people asked for for so long into genshin, for some reason they left the game alone and put all the improvements in this one, which is why I say they do everything better. It's easy to guess they noticed the genshin community will eat up anything, so there's no reason to bother improving. You have some things to learn about enjoyment, boredom and playtime though. The convenience features in this game make it so people will not fall into the trap that was genshin, simultaneously having nothing to do and having to do chores daily, which is what made most players who quit stop enjoying the game. Genshin playtime is fabricated through chores, while HSR and many other gachas (all of the ones that I've played except genshin) have genuine playtime, despite having auto features. You'll never miss anything or force yourself to play just so you don't fall behind on resources.
I love the chill f2p aspect of HSR, I don’t feel pressured at all to get any new 5* characters rn. the daily mission system is a godsend, I love it sm. takes less than 10 min to get it done and it feels easy. and farming for talents mats whenever you want bc none of it is weekday/time gated.
Bro if you really want serious and good advise, look up GrimroGatcha. Mtashed is great he is making me laugh and is entertaining, but he doesnt go in depth for a lot of the systems in the game.
Honkai Star Rail it's Best than Genshim Impact in so many ways... The story it's more original and decisions matters, all characters include 4* have charisma, all are good! The new roguelike system it's fun with some crazy ways of combination.
my account is completly trolled. Got 4 ***** lightcones and a dupe yan and a himeko on standard banner ..... no Clara, welt, gepard, bailu last time i spend any money into a Gacha game maybe for things like an battlepass but thats it.
Yeah. I hate the Abyss in Genshin but I love the simulated universe soooooo much in HSR and am excited for the reset. And I got the Hunt weapon and am excited to get the superimposition thing next week. Abyss is hard for not a lot of rewards to me.
This game has its differences but yet has similarities to genshin which makes you still remember how genshin feels when you go back to playing it or used to play. I do agree it does allow you to progress through the content faster and get stronger WAY quicker but then once it's finished your bored where in genshin it takes longer to progress through the content and the maps are much bigger.
For the moment I gave me a rule and I haven't even summon once, expect for the one time the game makes you to. I been enjoying the game really nicely honestly, let's see how far I get
And NO Paimon. The story can be serious. And we can take it seriously. And the adventure feels better and more personal without a little baby speaking on everyone's behalf and questioning every aspect of every conversation.
4:55 this is the best change. I am a AR 60, spent money on genshin, STILL TO THIS DAY I DO NOT HAVE JEAN (STILL JEANLESS) I have like almost c6 of the other ones tho
Honestly both games have its pros and cons. And while star rail does many things better than genshin, the one thing that always makes me go back to genshin (and is also the reason why I even started playing it) is the MUSIC (thank you Yu Peng Chen). I feel like the overworld music in HSR is just so bland compared to the culturally diverse music genshin has to offer. BUT I will admit the boss music against Cocolia is top tier for sure. I just wish they had put more effort in the overworld and normal battle music. Knowing honkai though, I'm sure in the future they'll release more banger OST's. I'm not gonna mention the open world vs turned based aspect of the games since that's boiled down to preference rather than something that should be compared of the two, but both are enjoyable in their own way :))
I think the biggest and beat difference is being able to change the MC element in the inventory, god i love it, if i find an enemy that needs fire, i can just change it in the spot
Yeah but it has one big problem, the gameplay will never change, the reason I like Genshin is I never know what a new character will add, Star Rail was stale in one hour.
3:00 actually hated Yanqing when I got him on the Begginer banner but he's actually very strong in Bosses compared to Seele the amount of Crit Chance he has is very high you can almost guarantee a Crit strike every attack
he was my free one and at first I was disappointed but he's really strong. I have him on a second account, I got clara on the first account so I also pulled for seele, but since I got yanqing on this other account I'm just gonna save and check out whatever comes next banner.
That standard banner is so true. I didnt make any pull (except the tutorial) until I finished story quest and I only wanted Bailu. Lucky me I got her in 40 pulls on the starter warp banner so I decided to stop pulling and save the tickets for future. When I feel like I really need new 5* characters from standard banner then yeah I'd finish that 10 pull and continue on the banner. By the time I hit 300 guaranteed then I can choose to either pull character that I havent gotten or I want their copy
what i wished genshin did was like how in starrail, the main character is with two others, but in genshin the main character just gets all the glory and is more like a power fantasy where the main character gets everything. In starrail, theres a nice dynamic between mc, march and danheng
My honest gripe with the game SO FAR, is pretty miniscule The break system. This system has been done before with better results. Xenosaga 3 had this system of break but had better ways to capitalize on a broken opponent when doing so. This games break system feels overly weak in terms of "break the enemy to deal big damage window" type gameplay. I can't say how many times I break an enemy only to have them instantly recover from break and make that break feel absolutely pointless. They also get no penalty to a turn for recovering from the break, so they get to attack as soon as they recover. Like what was the point of breaking them just to basically get no time to attack and then get slapped by them anyone immediately -.- They honestly should have bigger weaknesses or at least lose one turn to the break recovery as it is to make it FEEL like it was worth it to chew through the entire shield just for some normal damage. Outside this system, I like everything so far really.
Yeah feel like breaking bosses should be really hard to break, but once you break it you should be able to do massive dps. I mean yeah you still do alot of damage once you break it, it just feels underwhelming imo.
another amazing point is you can redeem points for a 5 stars cone of base characters when in genshin we can only redeem for 4 stars characters or weapons or pulls
Like Genshin, they made sure to give you one of each path and element (except Imaginary and Nihility), but unlike Genshin, most of the free units are actually viable long term: Destruction - MC (physical) Preservation - March 7th (ice), MC (fire) Hunt - Dan Heng (wind) Harmony - Asta (fire) Erudition - Serval (lightning), Qingque (quantum), Herta (ice) Abundance - Natasha (physical) Missing: Nihility + Imaginary *Looks like they gotta give us a free Welt* 👀
I've been watching you on and off since Genshin release and this is the most positive video i've ever seen from you. Like to see it man. Honestly loving this game, playing it "welkin" only as I don't have as much time to put in as a f2p . I've had crazy good luck on pulls so far and even if I didn't i'd still be good because the f2p characters in the game are so solid. I love it, and honestly this is a game I would recommend to anyone who wasn't even willing to pay a cent... even as a casual. I don't see it as a trap and honestly just not spending will make the game more fun and challenging for most.
F2P friendly. I've got Himeko, Seele and two 5* Weapons from the wish system. Could have build up some more free characters that are decent but I have hoped to get something else. Now I just going to play something different xD I maybe could have fun with the content, building characters... if I had some more. Not even complaining about not enough mats. Love the art style, the amazing soundtrack, the characters and the simple but fun gameplay.
Simulated Universe feels like they finally found a way to bring Honkai: Impact's Matrix mode back. I was so sad when they removed it from Impact and I'm super hyped they found a way to turn it into endgame content for Star Rail.
Also, I'm pretty sure the special banners (like Seele) guarantee that the first 4* you get is a banner 4*. Think about the hell some people go through in Genshin trying to get new 4* characters from banners, like Rosaria's release.
I quit Genshin cause I was overwhelmed trying to build my characters and explore the entire map, then inazuma came out and I was falling behind in progression of the story and i whaled for the electro archon and realized that I couldn’t even level her up to 70 with the rest of my team because I wasn’t in inazuma.. I’m just hoping that because I’m taking my time with the story that the game doesn’t jump way ahead of me when I finally reach the end of the current story or I’ll probably quit this too and wait for zzz
One huge thing for me that SR has over genshin is the story. I was so invested in the SR story because it feels like watching a movie. And they dont overdo the dialogue either, Ive been reading everything because it doesnt feel like the game is wasting my time with text. I feel like the longer genshin goes the longer the dialogue is for every little thing and the story has only gotten less interesting for me.
true. and i hope star rail stay the same with the story telling and doesn't be like genshin... i do enjoy the story but dont make me frikin read an essay lol
1 thing they also do better that gacha characters (the one u care about and not some random npc) are in the world and not disappear after the quest done
For simulated universe I do hope that the enemy rosters can change each time per 2 weeks so we can get a fresh feeling of facing them, same goes to the light cones in forgotten hall we need fresh light cones that are hard to get without pulling
Don't pussy out, it's meant to be. Himeko is actually great, she almost never leaves my team. The only problem is the fire relic set sucks if it's not for Hook, and if you want fire only for weakness breaking the supports will be enough (Asta, MC).
Can you make a video: DO THIS before next update or before banner leaves…. I don’t know if something’s are gonna be gone and should prioritize before the next update.
I might be streaming RIGHT NOW (HINT I AM)
twitch.tv/mtashed

Here's more points :
- Better Npc stories
- More depth to character personalities
- the comedy and the movie/show references
- more end game
- the number of existing chests is mentionned in game so that you don't miss any
- Shorter yet more interesting character stories
- almost as many male characters as female ones
- you only need to lose pity once on the weapon banner so the next one is guarenteed
- portable crafting table (dear god was it enoying to have to travel to another location to craft something)
- the fact that all playable characters are meetable in the open world (unlike genshin where it seems they poof out of existance if they aren't involved in a quest)
- faster to do daily quests
- the ability to farm the same weekly boss 3 times in the same week + each boss has only one type of level up mat (unlike genshin that has 3 per boss)
- you can farm some level up mats throu expeditions (unlike genshin where you NEED to go fight enemies to get their mats)
- the ability to recruit a friend's support character (unlike genshin where you have to play co-op if you'r low level and need help for farming)
- the fact that you get fragments that you can exchange for a 4 star weapon of your choice from a store (unlike genshin where it could take you months to drop the type of billet you need)
- the fact that weapons are replaced by light cones which makes it that there is a WAY bigger diversity in the weapons the characters use (unlike genshin where all characters fall under one of the 5 weapon types)
- the fact the trailblazer is allowed to talk (instead of having an annoying flying creature not only talk for you but also repeat what has already been said).
Basically better in literally every way aside from the gameplay and arguably the music 😭

I LOVE how much quicker the daily tasks are! In Genshin, I feel like I have 10-15 min of chores to do before I can do something more interesting
I still love Genshin to bits but another thing that I like better in Star Rail is the fact that the calyxes don't have schedules and bosses do not respawn. Makes farming much more easier!
Genshin has a place in my heart too but I need a break since Im busy and Genshin cant fit on my ipad anymore but Star Rail can!
I CANNOT tell you how many times Welt has saved my ass in a boss fight with his ult. Imprisonment is just OP af and I just know the next character that has it on their ability will be a real game changer, too.
can wait to combo dan heng 5* with welt in the future, 2 imaginary dps and stalling debuff
Luocha is imaginary healer so he will be a slowing-healer that scales of atk, so good damage too
Man I want him so bad it's not even funny. I'm still thankful that I got Gepard tho, he also saved my ass multiple times but Welt and Bronya😞🙏
yeah, Welt is solid even on bosses that are immune to imprisonment. Plus his personal damage is nothing to scoff at either.

really proves how hoyoverse could improve genshin but they purposely decide not to :///
The genshin community doesn't want any improvements, haven't you seen over the years how they attack anyone who has mild criticism to give? let them rot
Part of progress because sooner or later, people will leave the game for something new and shiny
The fact that in genshin you have to run 4 errend quests every day is ridiculous, in HSR there is only 1

I really like how Star rail is relatively f2p friendly compared to Genshin, I haven’t felt like spending anything on it and doubt I will any time soon
It's not free to play friendly you need two healers, and lots of energy can't imagine the defense you will give that shows its free to play friendly.
@@omarjohnson1336 thats bc its the start of the game, chars are made out of thin paper since they are lvl 60 fighting lvl 70 enemies or higher, im not saying healers are not gonna be necessary but it will reach a point where you can just brute force it

I'll argue that genshin is way more f2p friendly.
I am planning to buy the supply pass, is that worth it
The fact that you can:
1. Far weekly bosses multiple times
2.Craft a costume 5* relic (even if it’s just once per version)
3. Not have to waste time grinding on multiple things to level up one character
4. Be given the chance to pick your 5* at 300pulls
Made me love this game.
Honestly just having a proper story with no paimon.
Jumped back over to Genshin to do the event and AGH I didn't miss her
Being able to click "Dispatch again" on my assignments is goated. I feel like my time is more respected in HSR.
HSR is just quite fun rn and I love that I actually need a variety of characters so I'm incentivized to try different teams.
i wonder if because of all these reasons, people tend to spend more or less money than genshin.
But some stuff you cant be blind for
Hsr mc has more iconic personality
@@asmrslol848 especially with the trash can
And you forgot to talk about salvage.

@@ch1dd Can you also choose the stats or are they still random
I mean here it actually makes sense because you have completely different abilites and nothing carries over unlike the basic attack for the traveler.
@@batmanh8899 I was talking about how you have to level up everything again. I was sleepy when I made the comment. And my wording is bad.
@@batmanh8899 now that you say that and I understand the context, that makes my "issue", irrelevant. Thanks for the clarification.
Auto battle is basically the Gambit System from Final Fantasy XII but in this game it's turn-based. Not as in depth but welcoming.
It's a great addition to any game imo.
I enjoy it as I can just auto while destroying peeps in Elden Ring invasions 😂
HSR is definitely F2P friendly though.

Idk i feel like genshin is still quite f2p friendly however the fact you can choose any five star at 300 on standard banner and 50 for beginners is way better
I just can't take mans seriously when he's sitting there with his hands together like he's pondering the next 10 chess moves
Only complaint about F2P experience is that there is no 4*/free illusionary character and no 2nd healer for when you need 2 teams.
TRUEEEE
That’s because they’re following Honkai’s style, making it infinitely better than Genshin xD
No
To add: All the little quality of life changes in the UI, like one-button stripping Your arti...relics.
(suggested this for Genshin cos I'm too busy now to jump jump and get crystalflies)
2.) Cook and synthesize anywhere. (very convenient)
3.) Autobattle ez (I can afk while doing other stuff)
4.) The 300 pity to get your preferred standard character. (I always get qiqi in Genshin when I lose the 50/50)
5.) The f2p lightcones (there's a wide range of lightcones even 3 stars can be used, hertha's store 4 star lightcones and the starlight exchange 5 star lightcones for each standard banner characters)
Galactic big lotto + the curio that doubles drops from breaking items + the curio that increases the likelihood of breakable items appearing is such a fun combo. You can end a run with like...over 18 curios.
4:59 The drop rates are the same. You are just comparing to your drop rates at low Trailblaize rank to max AR in Genshin 😂
Just do a low rank activity in star rail and compare it to low rank activity drop in genshin.
You will get the same value.
The only difference is light cone xp , relic xp, relic domain cost ..
That is negated by more fuel given in free and paid BP + characters expeditions that give you free ressources daily
also plenty of qol changes.
1. you can change your character gear after clicking forgotten hall and you dont have to exit it to change weapons or articats etc
2. auto expedition dispatches where i dont have to reclick
3. from battle pass you can customize a relic. ik its once per bp but still its something
Tbh this game although it is fun but it doesn't feel like a game that I will spend years to play lemme explain
1) The wishing system is great and ez to get a 5 star but it makes the 5 star worth less value than Genshin like the hype is much lower, I mean if you are p2w in both game its almost non existent but for f2p genshin feels much more better
2) 5 stars in Genshin actually do something other the combat like I got scara just to move around the map so getting a 5 star in hsr feels like getting a different model and it feels like getting a skin not a actual character
3)daily is boring in HSR and it'll take less minutes than Genshin remember in Genshin although it takes longer to complete in the end game it's like the only content and I actually like to complete hidden achievements by completing them
4)Turned base will be fun for at max 1 year
5)the story is great but it's like lost ark story genshin plot is much bigger and has more depth and twists (in the end story is personal opinion you might like hsr more idk)
But the actual good thing about this game is messaging system imo like it's super fun
I can foresee this 😄
Yeah 😂
It's funny how you have to make up the complaints yourself. Cut the copium, it does probably every single thing better than genshin.
World 6 recomended lv is only 60, they will definitely add more worlds

Yeah. I hate the Abyss in Genshin but I love the simulated universe soooooo much in HSR and am excited for the reset. And I got the Hunt weapon and am excited to get the superimposition thing next week. Abyss is hard for not a lot of rewards to me.
Also, you can set the options to Auto by default entering a battle. That saves a bit of time and concentration of doing other things
yup, auto battle while i go take a poop lol
This game has its differences but yet has similarities to genshin which makes you still remember how genshin feels when you go back to playing it or used to play. I do agree it does allow you to progress through the content faster and get stronger WAY quicker but then once it's finished your bored where in genshin it takes longer to progress through the content and the maps are much bigger.
There is no Paimon. Absolute win.
Theres still no 'Skip' button for dialogue
The simulated universe is a really nice way to keep players busy when there is not new content
4:55 this is the best change. I am a AR 60, spent money on genshin, STILL TO THIS DAY I DO NOT HAVE JEAN (STILL JEANLESS)

Mtashed, I’m having hard time maintaining genshin and starrail together. Wondering what’s your take on that.
I wonder will HSR carry Mtashed to 1 million subs?
Anyway nice to see Mtashed enjoying a game again!
My honest gripe with the game SO FAR, is pretty miniscule
The break system.
Like what was the point of breaking them just to basically get no time to attack and then get slapped by them anyone immediately -.-
They honestly should have bigger weaknesses or at least lose one turn to the break recovery as it is to make it FEEL like it was worth it to chew through the entire shield just for some normal damage.
Outside this system, I like everything so far really.
Yeah feel like breaking bosses should be really hard to break, but once you break it you should be able to do massive dps. I mean yeah you still do alot of damage once you break it, it just feels underwhelming imo.
Hey Mtashed ! So happy to see you enjoying the game :D
another amazing point is you can redeem points for a 5 stars cone of base characters when in genshin we can only redeem for 4 stars characters or weapons or pulls
I'm happy seeing MTashed being genuinely happy playing a game again. Very nice
did you miss his last videos where he already complains about nothing to do in game ?
He actually is not happy with the game! Look his previous video
Like Genshin, they made sure to give you one of each path and element (except Imaginary and Nihility), but unlike Genshin, most of the free units are actually viable long term:
Destruction - MC (physical)
Preservation - March 7th (ice), MC (fire)
Hunt - Dan Heng (wind)
Harmony - Asta (fire)
Erudition - Serval (lightning), Qingque (quantum), Herta (ice)
Abundance - Natasha (physical)
Missing: Nihility + Imaginary
*Looks like they gotta give us a free Welt* 👀
Ah, so that's why I got Welt on my beginner pulls xD
@@ahlemlora1452 don't flex on me 😭 he's been actively avoiding my pulls
@@fa_rook_ak94 If I could I would give you one copy, I got him both from my beginner pulls and from my soft pity on the standard banner 🥲
they should give us Imaginary probably the next world??
I've been watching you on and off since Genshin release and this is the most positive video i've ever seen from you. Like to see it man. Honestly loving this game, playing it "welkin" only as I don't have as much time to put in as a f2p . I've had crazy good luck on pulls so far and even if I didn't i'd still be good because the f2p characters in the game are so solid. I love it, and honestly this is a game I would recommend to anyone who wasn't even willing to pay a cent... even as a casual. I don't see it as a trap and honestly just not spending will make the game more fun and challenging for most.
No 5 things Genshin did better than Honkai Star Rail. Bro really switched up
F2P friendly. I've got Himeko, Seele and two 5* Weapons from the wish system. Could have build up some more free characters that are decent but I have hoped to get something else. Now I just going to play something different xD
I maybe could have fun with the content, building characters... if I had some more.
I feel like the longer genshin goes the longer the dialogue is for every little thing and the story has only gotten less interesting for me.
true. and i hope star rail stay the same with the story telling and doesn't be like genshin... i do enjoy the story but dont make me frikin read an essay lol
and i felt like the characters have so much more personality than genshin's
Genshin players: *having actual feedback for the game*
Mihoyo: "Ok noted, we will do that in our new game instead."
Today, I blew my Jade on standard banner....
And I was rewarded with Tingyun.
God, I felt the regret creeping up whe I could not stop pulling.
Why do people call Mtashed "Mtrash"? You are really good in what you are doing. Thanks, Mtashed!
They just want to hate
1 thing they also do better that gacha characters (the one u care about and not some random npc) are in the world and not disappear after the quest done
I wanted to play this game but I'm not a fan of RPG games and it's not open world. The game does look great just not my style of game
We all know that all our answers on Genshin Surveys are applied on Honkai Star Rail.....
I left genshin for star rail, still not sure when I'll be back there but it's not in the next 5 months or 1 year
I lose that 75% chance like my luck is so fkin bad
I’m happy that there are systems that are way better on HSR. It makes me hopeful that some would make its way to Genshin.
10:10 OHHH OOOOOH!!!
SO THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED! I entered a battle once and my characters had no HP and I was like WHAT HAPPENED?!!!
you telling me that the weapon banner was 75% chance hurts me. I got bailu lightcone :))))))))))))))
For simulated universe I do hope that the enemy rosters can change each time per 2 weeks so we can get a fresh feeling of facing them, same goes to the light cones in forgotten hall we need fresh light cones that are hard to get without pulling
I'm cursed with himeko... I made 5 reroll accounts and got himeko for the guranteed 5 star on all of them.
Don't pussy out, it's meant to be. Himeko is actually great, she almost never leaves my team. The only problem is the fire relic set sucks if it's not for Hook, and if you want fire only for weakness breaking the supports will be enough (Asta, MC).
To this day my Mona still isn't maxed due to mushroom nonsense
I'm surprised that you didn't bothered much about the stamina-to-sprint in Genshin
Can you make a video: DO THIS before next update or before banner leaves…. I don’t know if something’s are gonna be gone and should prioritize before the next update.
lmao, I'll never touch another gacha game, just watching the mindset of gacha players is surreal.
it's good to see that they used the knowledge acquired in GI to simplify things in SR, maybe one day we can see changes and improvements in GI itself
i love the parts he forgets to edit out
Love the content Mr. TashMyster
