    Having played baseball my entire life getting speed in TT was easy for me. People often wonder how i can hit so hard.

    Excellent video! The link with baseball is a pretty good one. It explains itself pretty much.

      I'd say he is way too stiff or not relaxed one might say. Power comes when you whip the ball and kind of tighten while hitting. Right?

    i feel that he is not very relaxed so when he hits the ball he brakes too soon while he needs to have continuation follow through the ball movement.
    This problem is created when people are trying to accelerate too soon so they 'brake' too soon as well. Thats why the coach was pointing all the time to him to slow down. You need to slow down and be relaxed and have a nice follow through the ball hit.
    The legs are the initial part of the body that sets our prepared position, our center of gravity and get power from the ground. The waist rotation follows which is the part of the body that we will transfer our force in front like boxing. The hand follows after that.
    But the key part is that whole parts must be relaxed like when you are dancing

      That's right. He would improve this ussue If he imitated Ovtcharov's: Ahn Huann in order tô calculate the right time to explode the force.
      The student cannot relax. He needs tô meditate a little. And learn tô relax before explosion.

    He does not really rotate his waist at all. He swings the waist back quite a lot but then pushes up his right leg and transfers the force into upward force and changes his centre of gravity from low to high and stops the hip rotation too quickly. That is the problem. So if he keeps doing that he can never reach 65 kms/hour. I believe he needs to rotate more from right to left and reduce the portion of down-up to have more speed if the goal is to achieve ball speed. Also he stops his hip too sharply so the follow-thru does not have a good chance to achieve its max so acceleration is not much, i guess. The rotation is not smooth at all.

      correct, the hip movement is very rigid and unnatural.

      @perthpongtt 8 місяців тому

      Yeah, I was looking at that also. The hip doesn't quite rotate properly, but I couldn't pinpoint what was off about it

    My coach told me to grip with the two fingers and relax the rest three, now here is an opposite advice 😮

    • @fortitude1208
      @fortitude1208 8 місяців тому +2

      Fang said same but with more details.. power comes from palm and index finger and rest for kontrol.. so you use it with lose grip and when contact ball in that mili second you use palm and finger to have stronger grip and power.. but most of time you use it just with litle finger and second finger to litle finger.. midle finger dont use ..

      @klaasparlevliet2952 8 місяців тому +1

      Fan wants him directly in the beginning to already keep the middlefinger more firmly around the bat....he sees that on the moment of hitting the ball he is to loose and is not stable enough and can't transfer power ( also because of not initiating force with right foot and waist).
      Some players hold middlefinger more loose but squeeze it at moment of hitting...

    • @doppelganger72
      @doppelganger72 8 місяців тому +2

      And now I have two replies to my comment with opposite opinions on the grip 🫨 Actually, I think fang told him to press with the middle finger during the contact with the ball...

      all moves in tabeltennis are first relaxing and with the moment of the contact tight... only short play is close to "always" relaxe or ballon is the body relax also...
      i always say its like a bouncy ball and the ground... imagine u drop a bouncy ball on concrete or sponge... how it will bounce. if the grip is tight is it like concrete and a lose grip like sponge

    His technique is totally out of sync, his elbow goes up and he’s snatching at the ball. Also his right leg is stuck in the mud……preventing the power transfer from going into the ball effectively.

      If he wants good technique yes but there are so many good players with bad techniques even most top division local players or low to mid division national league players (better than 95% of club players.) have bad technique or play on awkward game. And this guy guy at his age is probably never reaching the level technique becomes the limiting factor
      So many older overweight guys ranked in the top 300 in the UK. They just focus on good placement and their awkward game throwing you off.
      To be honest focusing on technique will slow your development until you reach the point good technique is a requirement. I have seen people go from a average middle division player to top first division player in my city just by slapping some medium pimples on his forhand.
      (very rare to play against a young person who can move with any pimples let alone medium on the forhand)
      That level of progress would take most people 2-3 years of playing 3 times a week.
