We're in Toronto now for three weeks! We paid a surprise visit to our families in Canada, who had no idea that we were planning on coming...and we videoed their reactions.

Martina's dad and Spudgy were both in this video! That was 7 years ago now. It's so sad that they have both passed now. But this video is proof that they lived while they lived! May they rest in peace. My thoughts are with you Martina and Simon!

I've done this to my parents as well. My mom opened the door and just stood there, as if I had hit her with a freeze ray. My little sister immediately burst into tears, and I'm pretty sure that my dad thought it was some kind of a dream 'cause I woke him up. All in all, it was an amazing feeling! (^-^)

It’s a hard video for me to rewatch 😞 both my dad and Spudgy are gone but on the other hand I’m happy I captured them on video so I can always see them
still think this is the cutest thing ever. If I ever end up moving to another country further away from Finland, I'm 100% doing this someday

I did a surprise visit once.. almost ruined it by missing my flight. Luckily the airport worked with me and I got home for Christmas and got to surprise my family! It is so much fun to see how happy your family is to see you!

I literally screamed with joy when i heard Simon saying: Gdzie jest tata? (Where's dad?) and then, when his mom was talking and I found it super funny and cute when dad spoke to Simon in polish and Simon answered in english xDDDD

I love coming back and watching this video again from time to time. I always tear up when Simon surprises his Dad and they hug. Also, I'm not sure why but Martina's parents sound very Canadian to me.
