It's also just a very simple solution if you think it out. Just by showing those bottles, everyone who has seen Logan Paul will know about his drink and the branding. Gotta love that South Park, of all things, is teaching people better morals than anything else in 2024
I completely agree, but i also think that it is especially humiliating when they make it seem like you are too stupid to piece it together even though it is a direct parallel lol
Nah they literally said that Cred was better than Prime towards the beginning. It was said in passing. I didnt catch it first time either. Plus they're name dropping onlyfans too. I think it merely just because they wanted to, I dont believe a single bit that Matt and Trey are afraid about lawsuits. Hell, just look at other south park episodes.
Exactly... that's why satire doesn't work anymore. The only people who actually think Logan Paul is embarrassed by this, probably already don't like him. Unfortunately his fanbase is either too stupid to get the satire, or too rabidly fanatic to care... Sorry guys... the dummies are winning... it doesn't matter if you're the one person, in a room of two hundred, who can demonstrably prove that the Earth is round. If those other 199 people disagree, you're wrong... That's the world we live in, now...
@@mattbrendlenI like Logan’s podcast😔😔😔😔. I’ll admit tho prime is being bought way too much, it’s actually a good hydration drink as long as you drink it when you’re actually excersising.
People are saying “kids today are so dumb! I never would have done something like that” when I remember being a teenager who wanted to collect monster energy drink cans
I remember being the only kid who didnt do that. And I remember Monster being handed out to kids at my high school and everyone using it as a status symbol.
Unfortunately, Logan Paul can't be embarrassed. The literal children and toddlers that follow him will never pay attention to any of his wrongdoing, or the people rightfully trashing on him. They'll just keep on following him until they grow a brain.
It depends on whether he's a narcissist or a sociopath. Narcs are pretty easy to humiliate if you can exploit their weakness. Socios will just get enraged and plot disproportionate vengeance.
As for why South Park stopped using celebrity names, I’m gonna guess that their lawyers begged the creators to add one extra legal protection to make their jobs easier if they’re gonna keep punching up, lmao
I was thinking the same thing, it ultimately has to come down to money and avoid getting sued 😭 If not that then the people that are die hard fans of these influencers would just constantly pester mat n trey.
That’s what he insinuated by showing the Scientology episode with Tom cruise. I’m pretty sure when that came out, Tom tried his best to sue the shit out of trey and Matt .
Can't blame them, but as an amateur writer, I'd beg to differ, as I sometimes say "Implying is funnier than saying it". Instead of using actual names of the celebrities, you can add a layer of mockery by making a pun of their name, as additional jab at something else, or as a creative loophole. Their episode of Harry and Meghan as the part of the Canadian monarchy was a pretty clever loophole as Canada also has a monarchy.
Logan has always been tone deaf and is probably a sociopath, you can’t humiliate someone with little to no feelings. trying to capitalize off of recording dead bodies was probably the first tip off
Actually a sociopath does experience feelings like guilt. Logan would be classified as an actually psychopath since he literally doesn't care about anyone except himself.
@@ChudMuffin99 ur right thanks, I was teetering between the two bc i remembered they were similar but didn’t feel like looking it up for the comment lol
@@ChudMuffin99 Sociopaths know right from wrong and fabricate ways to justify why they act wrong. That is not a feeling of guilt, it's a refusal to accept it. Psychopaths literally don't understand that the way they act is wrong. Logan very clearly understands the things he does are wrong, and takes pleasure in it. His justification is his actions have made him rich and famous.
I think before the arm-chair psychologists settle on a diagnosis the questions should be asked "could this be the behaviour of a normal person who is simply ignorant" Logan obviously isn't completely ignorant to the criticisms but people in the modern world criticize things then continue to buy them. The money coming in signal will always overpower the complaints coming in signal unless the subject sees a direct correlation between the two, which he doesn't because there isn't one. The world is insane, Logan just found a way to make money on it.
@@FirstnameLastname-yk2js problem is parents can't keep an eye on their kids and everything around them and everything they consume every second of every day. Fun fact: although KSI and Logan Paul are technically co-founders, they each only hold 20% of Prime LLC, which is actually a subsidiary of a company called Congo Brands who not only own the majority of Prime LLC, but also have several other influencer-advertised sports and energy drinks.
Onlyfans is not supposed to be for children? Parents should be fucking parents instead of expecting the internet to be their babysitter ffs Like teach your children about sex and then porn before this lack of knowledge Hurts them. @@a_lethe_ion You shouldn't have to babysit your child on the internet, either. There shouldn't be access to things of that nature at all. OnlyFans should not exist.
@@a_lethe_ion I agree however these sites are notoriously scummy. they advertise to 13+ audiences (think ludwig and fansly) and will have their models go onto as many podcasts as possible such as Logan's podcast to serve as affiliate marketers. sure you can educate your child to be wary of that stuff, but when their favorite influencer has crafted a 20-1hr video selling you a dream, it will desensitize anybody regardless of age. at the very minimum require an ID to access explicit websites.
Honestly the lack of advertising around this special might have been a deliberate matter of principle rather than a mistake on the part of the marketing team. This special is very much not meant to be watched by children, even more than other South Park episodes, and the very content of it was about how unethical it is to market adult products to children. With that in mind, I can totally see them not wanting to advertise the special in spaces children are likely to see, which in our day and age, is basically everywhere.
Literal nicotine products are advertised to look cool to teens in my area. They do things like put a vector style animal on the cover, have flashy fonts or color schemes, and the color itself glowing on the pckage. They're also sold in a store right outside the school.

The thing that upsets me most is that Logan could have just ignored the whole being made fun of and taken it on the chin. No, instead he chooses to make a passive- aggressive, sarcastic response to valid criticism of him marketing energy drinks to kids. But he always feels like he needs to be heard whenever he's brought up and can't let anything that threatens his brand go by. I feel like Matt and Trey knew he would respond somehow because now he looks worse after the fact.
But not to his fans aka small children. They only look to him, not to people criticising so it won't matter. He knows how to manipulate the little ones, thats for sure.
I watched the food theory video on prime which states that prime doesn't even qualify as a sports drink since it doesn't have sodium in it, they do have a lot of potassium in it. Just to clarify sodium is an electrolyte that helps with muscles while potassium is an electrolyte that helps with the heart, though too much of it and it leads to heart problems

It's crazy how "ipad parenting" allows for both helicopter parenting but also gives kids access to unprecedented amounts of bad influence. It's like the "raised by the tv" or "found Dad's porno stash" of yore, but so much worse. Good for SP for calling out the entire chain- parents & teachers blaming each other, the influencers themselves being horribly unethical but ultimately "middle men" between big money influences & the consumers. I feel like using those names is a more gutsy move than using a celebrity name (only realized that watching Blooms just now, and the comments about the celebrity names)
I find it rather awful that we went from “watch what your kids do online” to “just give them the iPad” and then onto “friends found your onlyfans and are bullying me mom”
I straight up saw a kid on the bus a few days ago watching the Addict music video from Hazbin Hotel on loop, full blast, on an iPad while her mom just sat scrolling through her phone opposite her. Another thing to praise is how accurately they portray it. There are no generalizations like "Don't let your kids watch youtube!", the message is always very specific and clear

@AzureWolf168 Exactly, but why is it do you think that these parents stop parenting? I have a few theories myself. I think the newer generations consider themselves to be tech savvy but in reality I've found that younger people tend to have less understanding of the technology in their time than their parents or grandparents did in theirs. So while to some of them they might have "turned out okay" raised on TV, that was a much more curated and safe place for a child even after hours than the internet is. It's a bit like going through an amusement haunted house then assuming your child can handle a visit to the dahmers because "hey I turned out okay, right?"
After hearing stories about the OnlyFans craze, it was about time that South Park would make fun of it. This special was awesome, and the fact that they got actual children to voice some of the characters is such a South Park move. I love it.

I used to have a friend who would wear glasses and one day I asked him what was his vision problem. His response, "oh, I only wear them for the look". As someone with a legit vision problem I was legit confused until I realized it was a "fashion trend". It was so bizarre.
Glasses are such a pain in the ass, I wouldn't wear them if I could actually see worth a damn. Only an idiot would willing wear glasses when they don't need them.
Myopia and astygmatism are in my family's genes; I have been wearing glasses daily since 1st grade. I couldn't see anything on the blackboard for half a year. On sixth grade, a teacher who didn't like me because I was causing trouble (victim of bullying here blamed for everything by his bullies) and wanted to convince everyone that I was a lazy bum delinquent went ahead and asked me in front of the whole class "Do you really have a problem with your eyes? I know for a fact that some people only wear glasses to look smarter!" ...11 year old kid. Bullied daily. Could only see blur without my glasses. Lol, it was a huge craze in the early 2000s. I’ll say as a glasses wearer I really couldn’t care less though. Everyone’s eyes go eventually in age, they’ll need em for real one day.
I feel like the reason the special was released without any advertisement is South Park saying "Hey our new special is not suitable for kids, so we aren't gonna advertise it everywhere kids will see it" again showing that kids are shown too much over the internet

they will grown out of it then become idiot adults that talk about politics. i dont see a big difference between kids and adults on social media to be honest. the thing different I notice at 30 is how idiotic some adults with children are.
We coaxed 6 year olds to work in coal mines in exchange for a meal, pennies and being allowed to draw birds on the steel doors at the mine. Interesting way to look at it. I guess it might be like the difference between letting a child deliver the paper and having them sit a type writter with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth. Both would see them involved with the news but one is less intense and still allows for a kid to be a kid.
I think the changing of ownership of Comedy Central has pushed Matt and Trey to just use parody names. I chose social media influencers and holding them accountable for bad faith actions because of the growing issues surrounding the topic when it came to how some of the influencers' content were targeted towards children (with Logan and Jake being among examples of such). In watching the special, it was like "This just proves what I had been discussing for my class!" for me.
I don’t know much about the VA industry but from what I remember hearing about it, it tends to go through phases with getting younger VAs because the older ones can’t fill out roles or something. Essentially they try to find VAs when they’re young and start their career early.

Honestly the lack of advertising around this special might have been a deliberate matter of principle rather than a mistake on the part of the marketing team. This special is very much not meant to be watched by children, even more than other South Park episodes, and the very content of it was about how unethical it is to market adult products to children. I love the fact that when south park takes things to far, Randy is always the vehicle they use to take it there. 😂
I saw it last week, and I just figured it was released sometime in 2023 and I just missed it sometime last year.
I've been watching South Park for it's 25+ years in production and unlike other long-running cartoons, that are definitely not aimed at children, South Park still manages to make great on-point social commentary. I don't think Matt & Trey really get enough credit for the two-and-a-half decades they've spent creating relevant satire of current events which is critical, balanced, and most importantly is hilarious.
2:09 I felt like I had an aneurism hearing you use those words
Prime is so stupid....the moment I saw kids excited about Prime, I was astounded.
Tbf it's actually not bad, healthier than Gatorade and if you like sweet stuff it tastes fine
@@AndyWardinho I hope you stub your toe today
@AndyWardinho yeah I have no idea why people are so angry at a drink. The red white and blue one, tastes identical to the white Gatorade
@@mactallica9293 yup.. I agree Logan Paul is a clown whose done some stupid stuff, but most kids just genuinely like prime.. the ones who paid a lot for it are not the brightest, but it's just like any other trend.. like those cups girls are buying now.. but Logan Paul is just the face of the brand

Staff kids seems economic and the creators have an incentive to treat them well, I do agree getting child actors for kids can lead to some bad situations. As long as they don't reuse actors I think it's fine and it's just a small job between other stuff rather than cases where the actor became the center of attention for being young.
@e.p229how can you fake a commentary video?
He's promoting his crappy youtube channel@@rainbowofdeathoof8820
Interesting way to look at it. I guess it might be like the difference between letting a child deliver the paper and having them sit a type writter with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth. Both would see them involved with the news but one is less intense and still allows for a kid to be a kid.
@@rainbowofdeathoof8820it's a bot
I think the changing of ownership of Comedy Central has pushed Matt and Trey to just use parody names. It avoids waisted time on any kind of litigation attempts and is “safer” no matter who owns South Park. There are several episodes that are no longer viewable due to the ownership changing hands a few times.
2:35 lmao the ksi comment didn't hold up long
10:15 Funny story, he already did that long before this special, as a stunt to increase his popularity, filmed his "death" in front of thousands, he's such a swell and upstanding individual who would never do wrong
So for one of my English classes on writing for the public sphere, one of the things that one of my classmates and I were tasked to do was to choose an issue to discuss and expand upon with research. I chose social media influencers and holding them accountable for bad faith actions because of the growing issues surrounding the topic when it came to how some of the influencers' content were targeted towards children (with Logan and Jake being among examples of such). In watching the special, it was like "This just proves what I had been discussing for my class!" for me.
low effort bot@e.p229
Those bloopers are really appreciated. That was amazing. 😂
I don’t know much about the VA industry but from what I remember hearing about it, it tends to go through phases with getting younger VAs because the older ones can’t fill out roles or something. Essentially they try to find VAs when they’re young and start their career early.
I wonder if Clyde's step mom Janice plays a bigger role from here on out? The maniacal, over protective parent. She kicked the door down already and would leave a good mark on the show.
@AzureWolf168 not everything is for everyone 🤷♂️. I liked it as it wasn't focused on the "whose behind it" angle until the end when the store got raided. Otherwise it was just kids trying to get some Cred lol. The other episodes of whose behind it aren't really a mystery they're pretty obvious except SkankHunt which they didn't give any clues they just flat out revealed it was Gerald at the end of the 1st episode. All while Kyle laid in bed trying to figure out how to prove it was Cartman... Now I kinda want to rewatch that episode 🤣
They’ve really, really fleshed out Clyde’s character over these Paramount specials. I’m for it.
I admit that when I was young I was very much influenced by what was "cool" as peer pressure is huge. I did anything I could to get a hold of whatever would make me at least not stand out as a loser as I didn't want to be picked on. It will be a never ending loop as companies target kids and kids collectively decide what is in and what isn't. We can try and fight it all we want, but it's been going on since the dawn of time and will forever go on. There is only so much influence a parent has over their kid before peer pressure at school starts to take over.
I was stuck up enough to say that I didn’t have peers, so I never really *got* peer pressure as a kid
Hey, when I was growing up, I never gave in to the peer pressure of popular kids, (for starters, I couldn’t even afford half the shit they considered cool, anyway).
I mean, I’m still uncool and broke, but now I’m also old and don’t care anymore cuz I don’t have a lot left to lose, either.
Jokes on you, cool kids! 😂😢
@@dogewood5499 lol amen with that. I'm in my 40s and I still wear some of the same t-shirts I had when I was in high school. I love getting old cause the older I get, the less I care.

just a heads up, PRIME has potassium as its main electrolyte, which means its not the right type to hydrate you like gatorade...its a BS drink
potassium is an important electrolyte tho. and its not like the water in the drink doesnt go to your body either. im not defending just pointing out or did you mean something different?
@@CommanderDouchebag6353 so gatorade and power aid etc etc etc those types are ones that actually help your body recover and hydrate, you are suppose to drink 1 gatorade then 2 of equal amounts of water. potassium is good for the body and is important but its not important to rehydrating your body. and yes the water in prime is good but thats also like saying drinking coke and theres water in that. but i get ya my dude i do. but they are riping you off. hard.

0:30 i can tell you why it got unlisted. Its a trailer for a show that actively makes fun of dumb youtubers like the paul bros and lame brands like OF. While that seems fine to most youtube doesnt want their main money making channels jeopardized by bad publicity. So they took the ads down.
this takes me back to me being in High school in 2013. Having fiji water or arizona tea was literal drip
It’s not a joke either like Matt and Trey are serious, Logan probably thinks it’s “oh it’s my turn to get razzed by South Park” but in reality that’s not what it is, they didn’t use his name because they don’t want to give him more exposure while being able to send their message. If Logan Paul had his name in South Park we would never hear the end of it. South Park is legitimately critical of Logan and he thinks it’s light hearted buddy buddy.
People make fun of celebrities that get angry at how they are portrayed in South Park. But they also get angry at Logan Paul even though he was willing to joke around about being made fun of by South Park.
@@greywolf7577 Logan’s not playing around tho this is all serious, Matt and Trey aren’t making fun of him for something silly, he’s committing unethical and illegal businesses practices. It’s not like making fun of Tom Cruz for being a Fudge packer.

OF isn't "exploitative". _YOU_ have to make the conscious choice to go there, setup an account, and literally show your ass. And no, it's not their "ONLY" way to make money. One may see it as an "easy button" (and it sort of is, for reasonably attractive people), but it is a choice you are making.

i think what makes it so good, is that south park knows its audience. at this point, its a lot of kids and teens, so even though they still do the same south park stuff, they added an overall message for the intended audience. i think thats also a big reason it wasnt advertised on tv, but mainly social media

It should be illegal to let kids on the internet unsupervised.
Just putting that out there.
Kid proof internet should be a thing among parents. We all know at some point kids will try to look at "naughty things" we all have done so but at least they would not be addicted to it.
@@Raximus3000 to be fair, most computers and security software have parental controls to block sites that you don’t want your kids to see. The problem lies where in parents are unaware of this, and a lot of kids have their own personal devices that act as a babysitter, and it doesn’t occur to the parents to put in security measures.
@@asalways1504
Exactly!
Parents just want the world to be kid proof so that they do not have to raise their children or do extra work.
Sure companies take advantage of it, thing is the parents are the one who are leaving the children open to it. Companies will seek to make profit from anything and that inculdes childproofing devices which any good parent would not allow a gradeschooler to have!!!
I think it's bad parenting, but I don't think it should be illegal to be a bad parent (apart from extreme cases of criminal negligence).
