He joins the companions, but his revulsion towards their werewolf nature turns him away. When he is approached by the Dawn guard, he sees a means to further his power, but also a means to grant himself new allies. he plays through that story, and at the end he finds himself confronting a dragon crisis. Realizing that he is outmatched still, he begins looking further. He still does not agree with the ideals of the companions, as he does not see himself as a beast. He then turns to Serana. She can give him strength, speed, and the ability to heal faster. She can also give him immortality, which he now realizes he needs to assist skyrim, as it's future is now heavily in question.

Volrina Quarra has the most fleshed out backstory of all vampire bloodlines.. She was born in the second Era and was an apprentice to Barilzar.. the creator of the mazed band, and lost her brother to the clan leader of Berne when they ventured to look for things to bring back to their mentor from the Dwemer ruin Galom Daeus.. She vowed vengeance on the clan for the death of her brother and presumably it was her that sired the ancient of the Aundae bloodline, though not intentionally, which is why she and the rest of her clan find accidental vampires to be an abomination.. And it is also why she wants both clans wiped out..
Just had interesting insight into the Vampire way of life. I'm playing oblivion with a mod that inverts vampirism, (making you stronger the better fed you are) but it also adds a mechanic where it makes you feed at regular intervals, instead of after loadscreens. I'm in Lorkmir's house waiting to kill Faelian for the Dark Brotherhood, and the need to feed arises. So I ask myself, why can't I feed on the blood of someone I literally just killed, and it slowly dawned on me. The person NEEDS to be living so death can feed on life as the ultimate mockery of Arkay. Just the thoughts of a hired killer vampire.
@@OrthoReadings yes i personally feel the same. i play on consoles so i dont have access to mods for either of them, i still occasionally play both but morrowind is difficult to go back to for many reasons.
Lamae's story reminds me of that one telling of Medusa. A priestess of one god gets raped by another and no one helps her. She then becomes a legendary monster as revenge.
I believe Zeus fell in love with Medusa, the priestess of Athena. Athena was Zeus's wife and became jealous, especially after Zeus forced himself upon Medusa. As an act of vengeance Athena cursed Medusa into becoming a demigorgon.
Dethmasque actually medusa was a once beautiful lady and made love to posiden at athenas temple witch angered athena and turned medusa into a demigorgan
@@ToXicKush420 There's many different tellings of the story. The one I said was just the most widely believed. Some say Medusa was arrogant, others say she was raped by Zeus and even others say it was Poseidon. That's the beauty of myths; different stories to the same legend.
Movarth i think, but as far as i know, he didn't stand out to me except the fact he was very good at lying to people and women and manipulating them into turning to then turn their husbands or ruin the family and shove the blame on others so he gets to laugh and feed on whatever is brought in the hideout.
The problem is nobody knows how it happens, nobody knows what's sacrificed or gained beyond the obvious. They've said in other videos that much information about hagravens is unknown
I'm mostly commenting to help with the algorithm, but I do love your videos and you did ask us what we might like to see in the future. So... I think it would be amazing for me - someone who has only played Skyrim - to learn about the lore of some of the previous games and how it ties in (or not) with Skyrim. A sort of 'how did we get here' video. Or maybe you could make videos mapping out the various regions and factions of Nirn and how they all interact with each other. I realise you've done videos like this before, but I like maps. Visual representations help me to understand. :)
i think an interesting character build would be a Cyrodiil Vampire Order(Puppetmaster) build. side with the empire in the war to keep Cyrodiil strong for those who already have power and influence within the empire. infiltrate each hold to the rank of thane to increase the range of political influence. even infiltrate the volkihar vampire clan to weed out the vampire clan bringing vampires under fire from groups like the Dawnguard(eliminating them along the way). use the time to improve magical influence through the college and influence over the strongest warriors in Skyrim through garnering rank within the companions using the dark brotherhood to eliminate the Emporer(viewed as weak) with others who serve the Order better and eliminating all loose ends involved. You can even choose to revitalize the thieves' guild as a way to fund operations for the Order as they expand influence into Skyrim, you could also claim Assistance from Sybil Stentor who is Rumored to be of The Order herself due to her seat of Power and Influence of major Political faction of Skyrim.
Bal: Don't fret my dear tis only a title. Serana: Really? Bal: (Evil Laughter) No, not really you stupid cow. I'm going to rape the %#@/$ out of you! Serana: Yeah that's what I thought. Bal: Tis good to be the King. Serana: Of rape? Bal: Of dat ass!
I honestly didn't even realise how many different ability variants there are when it comes to Vamparism in TES. I really hope they explore this in future games; I would love to not only choose to be a Vampire but to choose to what extent and what abilities I want. PS: It probably makes no sense but could the All Maker possibly be Anu? Or part of him.
Guard: Dragonborn have you heard the news!? Dragonborn: Yes the price of cabbages have gone down, thank Julianos, Mara & Kine for that! @bryan diaz varela That's the least of the problems. Imagine eating and still feeling hungry unless you feed on someone. Imagine seeing the ones you love die from old age and you still young and alive. And your only solution to this is turning your lover and your family into vampires too thou just continuing to spread the infection because of "feelings". Imagine all the people running away from you beliving you are a monster that want to kill them. Imagine only beeing able to get out at nigth or at day but beeing heavly covered by clothes to not get sunburnt. Imagine having nigthmares of death, gore, mutilations, monsters. The list can go on and on but thesee are the more important sacrifices you have to make.
to be fair we know of a secret order of vampires that blend in with extremely rich and powerful people everywhere in the elder scrolls games so i mean it's possible
just an Idea, how about you do an Elder Scrolls D&D on this channel? I mean, you pump out so much lore, and so many Characters, how about you use them? I would be really excited to see you guys playing your own chars in the Skyrim setting.
I asked about an elder scrolls d and d at a place we all play it every Friday. But somehow it's not that possible . Perhaps it's cos of it all being so huge and all mere idea and not fully fact? Tho there is real story and factual things that fudge genuinly is talking about . Its not all speculation anymore. He could be a good dungeon master ngl' if love to play in his adventure
The thing about the weakness of some of the clans in the Iliac Bay is confusing when you learn that at least 3 of the clans come from Lamae herself. Are they immune to this weakness or if Lamae died would they all die?
Maybe in the future, more about the Argonian vampires? There is little about them and maybe one day, I might make a Argonian vampire character in Skyrim, but I want to know more about them first. Also the Kajiit vampires as well.
I have read all about the Rivenspire ark of Elder Scrolls Online on the unofficial wiki, and from what I've read, it seems wild. You deal with armies that count vampires and bloodfiends among their numbers, you search for people, only to find they have become bloodfiends and you see characters turn into vampires over the course of some quests.
Fudgemuppet play some elder scrolls legends then talk about the lore behind some of the cards as u play, just a suggestion. Love ur content dude, stay awesome 😎
you kinda forgot to mention that both cyrodiilic and morrowind vampires are often influencial members of society or even aristocracy, house telvanni doesn't even try to hide the fact that there are vampires among them.
4:45 this is true, in oblivion you come across a half vampire orc who is coincidentally the champion of the Arena. You can seek out his father and unfortunately there is no dialogue because he is hostile, however you come across his journal which you bring back to the orc. At the end of the arena he begs you to kill him because of the monster he is.
3:25 Bing bing you are wrong Love your work but I object. Arkay despaired at what happened to Lamae and knew he could not reverse the affliction Molag Bal had wrought (Opus Lamae Bal). Be this the inherent weakness of the Aedra (which is a matter of perspective imho) who gave much of their power away in creation (and its worth pointing out that Arkay also has apocryphae stating he achieved apotheosis through Mars as opposed to being an original Et Ada) or for some other reason. He categorically *did not* abandon Lamae. That is not and has never been the way of the Aedra (I suspect there was more to the story with Vyrthur the Elf but I digress). The Aedric priests, particularly those of Stendarr and Arkay, regularly use their powers to cure the disease (as opposed to the full blown curse).
what I don't understand is whether vampires become instantly evil as soon as they transform (or at least develop a tendency for evil) or retain their own sense of morality.
There is no strict "alignment" in TES like there is in D&D. It's like IRL: you ask 100 people what is and isn't moral/ethical and you're likely to get 100 different answers.
Y. Ahriman hunger is the only thing that will make a vampire turn “evil” because it will consume them and make them feral. Vampires that come about through pacts like Harkon probably aren’t too morally upstanding before getting the power.
It ultimately depends on the individual. Many that you kill either go on a power trip or get addicted to the blood they crave. But there are others who resist the blood lust just enough to only feed on the necessary amount and respect non-vampires like Serana or the coven that inhabits Castle Ravenwatch. I mean Melina Cassel had a huge crush on that one guy she saved and went to a ball with him instead of eating him when she initially encountered him.
A rich bouquet indeed. This werewolf takes offence at being labelled diner! Might just have to do something about that. Too bad vampires taste like mouldy old socks. If it weren't for the blood, they'd be no better than draugr, though more crunchy.
I love playing as a vampire but it is a pain in the but when your health and stamina don't regenerate during the day and I'm trying to blend in with humans.
It could be worse. Vamprism in Oblivion would outright *drain your health* when outdoors in the sun, and in Skyrim before Dawnguard, reaching stage 4 vampirism makes ALL NPCs instantly hostile towards you. When Dawnguard was added, NPCs only become hostile to you in Vampire Lord form.
Please make a warrior of light build using dawn breaker and a shield with unique abilities and perhaps gold armour and a very evil dark build that works as its opposite making each build the complete opposite
Ha! The edgy lord of the bloodsucking faries hahahahaha hahahahaha hahahahahah ahahahahaha if anybody notice.... i'm a malkavian, they say we are insane vampires...
@J D the only way to describe Skyrim. It's been 6 years since I've bought it and I still feel regret from buying it. Hell fallout 3 was more fun than Skyrim and that was the worst one until 4 came out. Actually this had been a long time coming from Bethesda since Skyrim their games since then have a lot of stuff to do but very little of it is actually any good or fun. Honestly Skyrim was a mistake.
Ryan Bollinger I wouldn’t say that the vanilla Vampire Lord was “OP”. It was quite weak, actually. Same for the werewolf. Because once you got everything maxed out, your armor, weapons, skills, etc. Lycanthropy and Vampirism are practically useless and unnecessary. But if you’re using mods such as Better Vampires and Sacrosanct, then yeah. They are OP. But never ever call the vanilla Vampire Lord “OP”. Ever.
0852657luis It honestly just comes down to personal preference. I never really enjoyed any of the Fallout games, I only ever enjoyed Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. No matter how bad people said those games were.
I would love an elder scrolls game about a huge war between vampires an the living or an elder scrolls game that is set during the time that potema was alive when she had an army of undead and vampires as her generals
I like to think lamae bal went on to rid tamriel of her children because not only did she not want to become the first and oldest vampire but she was a loyal priestess of arkay. She's like blade or alucard.

I wish somebody would make a Marcus(Underworld Evolution) armour mod for Vampire Lord and base form. Those black robes are dope as hell.
I’m trying to sleep Michael.
No mention of the Count of Skingrad?
With a town name like that everyone would suspect you being a Vampire
dont you know its not cool to mention oblivion unless you immediately criticize it. than talk about how great morrowind was and blah blah blah.
James Martel yea Oblivion aged much better than Morrowind.
@@OrthoReadings yes i personally feel the same. i play on consoles so i dont have access to mods for either of them, i still occasionally play both but morrowind is difficult to go back to for many reasons.
I’m currently playing oblivion for the first time
Lamae's story reminds me of that one telling of Medusa. A priestess of one god gets raped by another and no one helps her. She then becomes a legendary monster as revenge.
How have I never seen that relation. Lol thanks!
I believe Zeus fell in love with Medusa, the priestess of Athena. Athena was Zeus's wife and became jealous, especially after Zeus forced himself upon Medusa. As an act of vengeance Athena cursed Medusa into becoming a demigorgon.
@@LucaDavoli_ athena was zeuses daughter who was born from his brain
Dethmasque actually medusa was a once beautiful lady and made love to posiden at athenas temple witch angered athena and turned medusa into a demigorgan
@@ToXicKush420 There's many different tellings of the story. The one I said was just the most widely believed. Some say Medusa was arrogant, others say she was raped by Zeus and even others say it was Poseidon. That's the beauty of myths; different stories to the same legend.
I remembered the boot collection of the Morthal Vampire Morveth(?), such a fleshed-out character.
Its not just movarth that has a boot collection though. I remember a few other vampire dungeons with boot collection.
@@shadowstrider5033 I think a lot of little dungeons like that had a ridiculous amount of footwear. I wonder why
Vampires are complete drama queens and need the footwear to reflect that.
Movarth i think, but as far as i know, he didn't stand out to me except the fact he was very good at lying to people and women and manipulating them into turning to then turn their husbands or ruin the family and shove the blame on others so he gets to laugh and feed on whatever is brought in the hideout.

So over looked

Waiting for Which Great Houses of Morrowind are Worth Joining?
I honestly didn't even realise how many different ability variants there are when it comes to Vamparism in TES. I really hope they explore this in future games; I would love to not only choose to be a Vampire but to choose to what extent and what abilities I want.
PS: It probably makes no sense but could the All Maker possibly be Anu? Or part of him.
The All-Maker is Lorkhan(Space) and Mundus is his Realm.
Great video! Please make a video series on the great houses of morrowind! Please and thank you!
We are on it :)

Dragonborn: Yes the price of cabbages have gone down, thank Julianos, Mara & Kine for that!
Guard: NO, I mean...well a good soap is all well but I meant the dead bandits that were found at their camp!?
Dragonborn: You mean the camp up north near the creek?
Guard:
Yes
Dragonborn: Hidden behind the fallen logs and in a small ravine
Guard:
Yes
Dragonborn: And all of the bandits were found torn limb from limb, some were impaled, crucified others were burned to death, but there was no blood, right!?

Vampires are an amazing species! I often become a Vampire whenever I play Skyrim

same here, one time did werewolf build not as good.
No the only good vampire is a dead one I love setting vampires on fire
@bryan diaz varela sure because not having sex is worse than an eternity in molag bals realm.
I think it would be cool if vampire clans and quest lines were more prevalent in ES6, more like morrowind
to be fair we know of a secret order of vampires that blend in with extremely rich and powerful people everywhere in the elder scrolls games so i mean it's possible
I loved being a Vampire in Morrowind. I feel like the ones in later games weren't as fun or effective to play. I love the lore behind them though!
just an Idea, how about you do an Elder Scrolls D&D on this channel? I mean, you pump out so much lore, and so many Characters, how about you use them? I would be really excited to see you guys playing your own chars in the Skyrim setting.
I asked about an elder scrolls d and d at a place we all play it every Friday. But somehow it's not that possible . Perhaps it's cos of it all being so huge and all mere idea and not fully fact? Tho there is real story and factual things that fudge genuinly is talking about . Its not all speculation anymore. He could be a good dungeon master ngl' if love to play in his adventure
Janus Hassildor, the unending gold purse from skingrad would like a word.
You deal with armies that count vampires and bloodfiends among their numbers, you search for people, only to find they have become bloodfiends and you see characters turn into vampires over the course of some quests.

you kinda forgot to mention that both cyrodiilic and morrowind vampires are often influencial members of society or even aristocracy, house telvanni doesn't even try to hide the fact that there are vampires among them.

Ooooo that would be interesting in hammerfell. Vampire clans I smell storyline
Being a Vampire in Oblivion is fun but just don't wait or stand in the sun for too long.
3:25 Bing bing you are wrong
Love your work but I object.
Smh just use a detect dead spell, no excuses for not being able to identify a vampire lol
Next do the COMPLETE GUIDE to AD REVENUE.
what I don't understand is whether vampires become instantly evil as soon as they transform (or at least develop a tendency for evil) or retain their own sense of morality.
There is no strict "alignment" in TES like there is in D&D. It's like IRL: you ask 100 people what is and isn't moral/ethical and you're likely to get 100 different answers.
The count of Skingrad in Oblivion seemed like a good person, and he was a vampire too.
Vampires are no more inherently evil than any of the mortal races.
The grand champion in oblivion, Agnarok Gro-Malog i think is his name, is half orc half vampire.
He doesn't even suck blood.
For me there's nothing more fun than to butcher a group of vampires while in werewolf form
As much as I hate werewolves seeing them killing vampires is good

Anyone else miss when Morrowind had 3 strains of vampirism to choose from?
But Skyrim has Vampire Lord and it’s OP as fuck. You truly feel like an evil, unstoppable vampire overlord. I love it.
For the night is dark and full of terror
I would love an elder scrolls game about a huge war between vampires an the living or an elder scrolls game that is set during the time that potema was alive when she had an army of undead and vampires as her generals

I like to think lamae bal went on to rid tamriel of her children because not only did she not want to become the first and oldest vampire but she was a loyal priestess of arkay. She's like blade or alucard.
