Let's be real, Harkon's an idiot. Ignoring Valerica's reasonable points of Vapmpires having every Mortal on Tamriel banding together to wipe them out, there's the logical argument that the Prophecy in question would eventually kill all the Vampires. Even if it isn't the same physical body as our Real Sun, The Sun of the Elder Scrolls serves the same purposes as ours; bringing light and heat to Nirn. If Harkon had blotted out the Sun, Nirn would become cold very quickly. With the lack of light and warmth of the Sun, all plants would die, following the plants would be the animals, then the mortals who feed on plants and animals, and eventually the Vampires would be left with nothing to feed on. If starvation can't kill a Vampire then that's even worse, they'd go feral from the hunger-induced madness.

The greatest vampire in The Elder Scrolls is the stupid fucking ancient vampire from Daggerfall that can kill you in 3 seconds if you look at it the wrong way.
One thing you don't know about Lamae Bal, is the fact that her power multiplied whenever she turned someone into a vampire, when those new vampires turned more people into vampires, her power continued to multiply, thousands of years worth of vampires later and thousands of vampires later, her power must be horrifying by the event's of Skyrim.
The reason Verandis could be out and about in the sun is likely due to the fact that he's a different kind of vampire from what we're familiar with. To explain: There are 4 different strains of diseases that cause vampirism. They are as follows: 1. Sanguinare Vampiris 2. Porphyric Hemophilia 3. Noxiphilic Sanguivoria 4. Chaotica Vampiris Of these 4, only 3 can affect mortals. The 4th, Chaotica Vampiris, actually only affects those who are already vampires. What it does is it enhances the vampire's speed and strength. But it doesn't make them immune to sunlight. Not to mention that it was artificially created by an alchemist. So we can rule that one out. We're all very familiar with Sanguinare Vampiris, so we know it isn't that. There doesn't seem to be much info on Porphyric Hemophilia, but it seems safe to assume that it isn't that. That leaves Noxiphilic Sanguivoria. This one is interesting, because it is the only strain of vampirism in which those who contract it aren't weakened or harmed by sunlight, but rather, are immensely empowered at night instead. So while Verandis wasn't turned into a vampire by a disease, his form of vampirism seems to be in line with the Noxiphilic Sanguivoria strain.
It could be an interesting theory to speculate as to whether Rada al-Saran and Harkon Volkihar have any connections, as they both appear to be of the same bloodline. It could be possible that Harkon was a high-ranking member of the Grey Host, as Harkon was a powerful king during the First Era. Maybe Harkon became a vampire and then later joined the Grey Host as a prestigious officer of some kind, but then retreated back to his castle in the Sea of Ghosts after the Grey Host suffered its original defeat. It makes an even more compelling case when you consider that Harkon has at least some familiarity with Blackreach (or at least Dwemer ruins, in general), as the Grey Host made their fortress in Blackreach, "deep in the bowels of a Dwemer ruin".
I haven't watched the video yet, but I'll come back later once I do. That said, my money's on Lamae Bal being the most powerful vampire on Tamriel because she's responsible for creating one whole strain of common vampirism, and she apparently gets stronger the more people are turned into vampires by her subjects. Oh, and she is the first vampire after all - the first Daughter of Coldharbour in fact, who'd go on to create three whole lines of vampire clans too. She'd also go on to create a breed of vampires called Scions, who are apparently as strong as vampire lords.
Hold on, this Vampire DUELED GODS and won all but one which ended in a draw, against the litteral god of duels and swords? BEFORE EVEN BECOMING A VAMPIRE? Absolute legend.

Not possible, the blades come from the second empire, but harkon's line comes from before that, as serana was dumbfounded by any empire out of cyrodiil.

Funnily enough, Lord Harkon's level cap is 60. However, random Vampire Nightmasters cap at 65 and Arch-Curate Vyrthur caps at 75 (the same level as a Legendary Dragon!). I know this probably isn't lore-accurate, but it's funny to think that there are random no-name vampires out there who are stronger than Harkon
Lord Harkon gets my vote because he is the toughest vampire I ever had to kill in Skyrim which I fought him 3 times as a powerful wizard, a werewolf & as a vampire myself and he's allot tougher to beat than Miraak. Second strongest vampire is Harkon's daughter Serena watching her make short work on killing a dragon make me glad she's in my side and I don't to have fight her.
Notes from a formerly obsessed ESO fan: Verandis and Rada both made sacrifices to Molag Bal a la Hakon, becoming Vampire Lords from his direct touch. Verandis regretted his deal not long after and became a pacifist, Rada did not. The Dark Heart is indeed connected to Namira, and was sacred to the proto-Reachmen before it was lost beneath Skyrim thanks to the actions of the Dwemer, who were attempting to find the Heart after detecting it through their tonal machinery, and a clan of Vampires who had discovered they could feed from it instead of from blood, at the cost of no longer being able to sustain themselves on anything else. At some point, one or both sides pissed Namira off and she drained the Dark Heart, sending all but one of the clan who fed upon it mad. The leader of said clan was sealed away, until the bloodshed of the Three Banners war woke the Heart enough for her to wake up, and she promptly teamed up with Rada al Saran in his plans to rescue the Grey Host from Coldharbour. There was a lot wrong with Greymoor and Markarth but I'll give the game credit for some genuinely terrifying villains and excellent new friends. (Fennorian!)
That's what happens when you Simp for the Sun. Therapist: "So tell me... what's going on?" Vyrthur: "I am dispicable... feel so lost even the Sun doesn't wanna touch me." Jokes aside though when taking on Vyrthur was a very memorable battle for me, more to than Harkon in my opinion.
Not Akatosh, Auri-El. Akatosh is the merged deity made from Auri-El and Lorkhan and acts primarily as a human God. Auri-El is literally the chief elven deity, meaning when he turned his back on Vyrthur, the ancestor of all mer directly scorned Vyrthur, which makes the insult that much worse.
Somehow I knew it'd be Rada. From his massive heath bar, to his lineage, and long list of achievements (even owning a oblivion realm) truly he's the GOAT of vampire kind.
Its so cool that we can hear name of the hero of kavatch in almost every video of ranking hes dids were legendary damn he's realy the strongest protagonist
The reason Verandis can go out into the sunlight is the same reason The Vestige can go about by day with vampirism. Zenimax officially stated that Molag Bal’s planemeld has brought Coldharbour so close to Nirn, its influence has granted all vampires the ability to go about by day. This reason was given back in 2015 when players complained about the lack of penalty for vampiric toons going about in the day light. So Verandis’ ability will likely come to an end when the planemeld stops. Melina, another House Ravenwatch member, mentions in her level 2 enchanter hireling letters that their blood servants also mend the cloaks the House uses to go about by day, otherwise.
One more thing about verandis did that trumps your top pick. Verandis absorbed the powers of the dark heart to shut off the darkstorm from inside it. Then he was able to return all the souls back to life that were sacrificed to the heart. Including his own. (I'm unsure if verandis is permanently alive and away from the heart however he truly ressurected a city worth of people which normally wouldn't be deemed impossible with how much power and control that was needed.
O your wise Nelothyness, maybe you can answer a question: is there any lore reasons as to why the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy actually works? Or was it just a quest Bethesda put in without giving much thought to lore? I ask because during the confrontation with Vyrthur, we find out he just made it up, so it's not like it came from the gods or daedra. But as you said, it somehow got onto 3 different Elder Scrolls which is unfathomable, and if you shoot the sun, it actually comes to fruition. Yet it doesn't make much sense. Why would the Blood of a Daughter of Coldharbour do anything to the sun? The sun is Magnus (or remnants of his energy anyway), a totally separate entity from both Auriel and Molag Bal. Why would someone with Molag's "blessing" have any effect on another god? Not to mention Magnus is reputed to be very powerful. In addition, why would this affect Auriels influence on Mundus? I admittedly don't know much about the Elvish version, but Akatosh is the Dragon god of Time, not the sun, no? Not only that, but the whole Aedra vs Daedra vs Magna-Ge is that the Aedra, incurring Akatosh, were responsible for the creation of the world and stayed in it, having their essences infused, while the Magna-Ge left and tore the sun and stars on the way out, and the Daedra weren't involved at all. With that in mind, it seems like the blocking of the sun and severing of the connection between Nirn and Aethereus would affect everyone BUT the Aedra. Therefore I'm not understanding why this would be the best way for Vyrthur to exact vengeance. If Auriel is somehow associated to the sun and/or drew power from it, i can get behind the blocking and the reason the bow helps, and that Vyrthur would know about it as a very high ranking member. But I'm just not seeing that in lore. Am i missing stuff? Or did Bethesda just decide to bypass lore for a very cool questline?
So the Elder Scrolls themselves are quite unknowable and impossible to comprehend who actually wrote them. Elder Scrolls record what was, is, and will be. How Vyrthur did this is a unsolvable mystery which I like, but fate likely had a hand. As for Auriel/Akatosh, he is referred to reside in Aetherius with the other Aedra. The sun created by Magnus is the largest portal or tear between Mundus and Aetherius so blocking it would sever any connection the Divines have. While blocking the sun would not directly impact the Aedra, it does seem clear that Akatosh/Auriel has some vested interest in Tamriel considering his actions in Oblivion. I don’t think Bethesda contradicted any lore in the Dawnguard quest but I think they just threw some things up in the air as a mystery. This doesn’t bother me necessarily as one of my videos I’m making has led me to believe that The Elder Scrolls universe is a very illogical place and that is for the best.
@@masterneloth The "stars" are also tears between Mundus, and Aetherius so it is not a full sever. But enough to give the vampires freedom from the sun. As for why it works. I think it's more like the bow being connected to the sun through aedric magic. Since the sun arrows also affect the sun. What happens when the bloodstainted arrows are used is, that the bow's magic sends a tainted arrow to the sun. Sun is indirectly the source of all life. Vampiric blood is the polar opposite of life. Not just blood itself means, that living beign is harmed, but the blood of a vampire is the blood of an undead. So in some way the blood of coldharbour, and the sun are polar opposites to one another.
@masterneloth Ah I see. Thanks for taking the time to reply! So a bit of faulty understanding of the gods on my part then 😁 Thanks for clarifying. I can definitely get behind the logic, or illogic, of parts of it being a mystery because the Elder Scrolls franchise do be mysterious like that sometimes (Dragonbreaks anyone?) But your explanation makes sense with the severed connections to Aethereus. Even if it didn't affect Auriel directly, no connection=potentially no contact with mortals=no influence on the plane=not able to pursue whatever his ultimate goals are.
Being a sword singer to begin with alone already seems pretty OP lol but couple that with being the leader of the grey host and having been alive with the strain of vampirism for as long as Rada has been is just an insane amount of power lol but idk Babette wasn't one to be messed with either. And of course there was the count of Skingrad from Oblivion, basically a permanent medieval governor without anyone in a position of authority above him. Yeah the Count with the deranged basement wife is the real most powerful vamp, hands down lol
Babette. She isn't just a vampire she has the immunity of being a child in TES! that makes her hands down the most powerful vampire. No one can do her any harm whatsoever!
What's interesting is that the bloodlines that seem to come earlier in the timeline such as Lame Bal's line and Harkon's line seem to either be merely inconvenienced by the sun or not affected by it at all while the well "newer" bloodlines seem to be far more hindered from it almost kinda makes me think that Molag Bal specifically nerfed his own disease to make sure no types of vampires like Rada could try and defy him again although that might just be me speculating
It is explained in the story of the first vampire. The original strain of vampiric disease from vampires created directly by Molag Bal are not affected by sunlight

Whilst it is most likely a glitch Babette can turn you into a Vampire with no de-buffs. This is part of cut content but I think it's still worth mentioning.
How do I do this ???
i want to know as well
@@iananderson4754 mb i didnt see the original reply that said this, There's a mod called The Cutting Room floor that restores cut content and after installing it you'll get a new dialouge prompt when speaking with Babette.
@@iananderson4754 there’s a mod called the cutting room floor that restores cut content, this includes Babette’s ability to turn the player into a vampire.
@xDarnelx I have this mod, but I have never received any dialogue from her to turn me into a vampire.
It's amazing to hear the power that can come from Molag Balls
I never care about who the most powerful vampire is, only the most entertaining to me personally. The Real Housewives of Castle Volkihar is super underrated petty entertainment, and I’m so here for Fura Bloodmouth. Also, every single time I come home to report back on a quest and have to wake someone from their coffin, it gives me the giggles
They are as follows:
1. Sanguinare Vampiris
2. Porphyric Hemophilia
3. Noxiphilic Sanguivoria
4. Chaotica Vampiris
Of these 4, only 3 can affect mortals.
Question what do all the strains do I didnt even know their was variants
I appreciate that you put a disclaimer before talking about Lamae Bal and how she became a vampire :)
Let's not forget that Rada al-Saran stalemated the sword goddess BEFORE he was a vampire. Absolute gigachad warrior.
Imagine being such a perfectionist about your swordmanship that you draw with a god and is still not contempt...

By Malocaths toenails, another great video.
That was inspired by what Master Neloth says after exiting Nchardak btw.
Hold on, this Vampire DUELED GODS and won all but one which ended in a draw, against the litteral god of duels and swords? BEFORE EVEN BECOMING A VAMPIRE? Absolute legend.
Well, since you did Greatest Vampires, how about now do Greatest Werewolves.
I have a list of them but I don’t know if it would be as interesting, we shall see in the future tho lol
Dude you do eso, the old games and the books. That by itself makes it a good video. Except for imperial knowledge and the occasional cameltoe video you’re one of the only people to actually touch it.
That by itself means you will have both more pics and it’s not exclusive to the usual Skyrim list. To you it’s dull to us it’s fresh

Should probably include any of the "were-beasts" as they are all children of Hircine.
But could still call it Greatest Werewolves I guess.
Honestly, too easy, the wolf queen wins every time
Rada was the first vampire boss that actually scared me. Lmao, the rest are talented but Rada was just scary.
Just wanted to circle back to my original comment for an update. Just finished the main quest line again and greymoor chapter again and my views on Rada if it isn’t the consequences to my actions Al Saran have changed drastically. Honestly screw him. I find it quite rich that he chose to become a vampire knowing full damn well his soul is Indebted to Molag Balls and now he wants to start with the bullshit. Well he chose the right focking one. Not only did we have our soul taken from us which was straight bullshit but then we had to spend upwards of five hours in cold Harbour finding the assholes who got lost. Rada is a bitch and he wouldn’t be able to last five minutes in cold Harbour. I said what I said
Another truly Fangtastic video Master Neloth. My favorite vampire is definitely Babette.
Wonderful video! Normaly I'm not big fan of vampires but this one here is 100000/10! Also I'm happy you used ESO info. I agree with placing Rada al-Saran on first, and giving Count Verandis so high spot.
Also... if you made video about the strongest vampires in TES... now you could also make video about strongest werewolves ;)
Another video idea added to my enormous list lol!!!!
@@masternelothor just were creators in general
@@masterneloth I was thinking... I can help you with ww video if you want. I have quite exp. with werewolf characters in ESO and know their lore quite well. I have at least 3 candidates who could show up in that list.
It's a shame that there are no vampire pirates admiral in Elder Scrolls hahaha
If we can sail in Elder Scrolls 6 that fantasy could become reality 😎
To be honest I would not be surprised if the momer end up having some vampires in their ranks. Hell I’m pretty sure their kings one. Even for an elf who dos necramancy that dudes old as fuck. Hes beginning second age or something like that
Lore wise the dragonborn also has the potential to becomes a superior vampire. Dragonborn are powerful in general, and then you combine it with a 2. rate vampiric blood. Not to mention, that they might enjoy Bal's favor as all dragonborn has the innate will to dominate. An action, that Molag Bal also find pleasing.
Alduin: creates a theocratic dictatorship instead of destroying the world
Molag Bal: I like ya cut g

It was fate. A destiny laid by Azura herself!
"Touched by Molag Bal". . .there's another word for that which UA-cam doesn't like. In on of the in game books Bal is called King of Word UA-cam Doesn't Like. And how Serana reacts when asked about it is all I need to now about Bal and his summoning day.
Todd Howard is a powerfull vampire, who suck your money, by the liar magic.
He uses persuasion. His speech is 100
6:05 i got a theory the reason harkon has a katana and a dragon priests dagger is because he was one of the early blades and used molag bals blessings to slay many dragons and put their worshippers on their knees and took the dagger as a trophy
Not possible, the blades come from the second empire, but harkon's line comes from before that, as serana was dumbfounded by any empire out of cyrodiil.
@curvingfyre6810 what I mean is the early blades were dragonslayers as stated in skyrim
@@Ollyatlas Blades swords and dragons didn't exist in skyrim (the province) at the same time until the events of Skyrim (the game). The dragons were basically fully gone way back at the end of the merethic era.

The player is the strongest vampire in skyrim.

Jokes aside lore wise a dragonborn vampire lord can be terrifying. The power of the dragons combined with vampiric immortality, and the innate desire to dominate might even earn the favor of Molag Bal. I can easily imagine an elder scrolls game with the Dragonborn being the primary antagonist ruling as a tyrant Emperor of Tamriel.
@@akuladoctor7355 Gain the favor of Molag Bal? Oh please. The last dragon born has so many different daedric prince vying for his soul it's not even funny. He could end up a werewolf/vampire hybrid and a nightingale. That means his soul 'belongs' to Hircine, Molag Bal, AND Nocturn! There is also Hormaues Mora in there some were. He could vie for true immortality and probably get it just to avoid the daedric princes fighting over who gets his soul.
@@darrekworkman5595 Could lead a Constantine situation. Should he be killed so many daedric princes will start fighting over, that they could not decide who gets it. And in the Chaos the dragonborn just returns to life.
It even funnier consider what Harkon sacrificedz
Harkon calls the Dragonborn a pet when he literally gives you power to rival his 😂
Finally someone going through whos got the meanest case of Vamp-19
Lmao homie called me a peasant 😔☝️
Lord Harkon gets my vote because he is the toughest vampire I ever had to kill in Skyrim which I fought him 3 times as a powerful wizard, a werewolf & as a vampire myself and he's allot tougher to beat than Miraak.
Second strongest vampire is Harkon's daughter Serena watching her make short work on killing a dragon make me glad she's in my side and I don't to have fight her.
But but vampire Khajiit is the best listen if you just read my 10 page word document on his lore I think you’ll understand
Great choice of outro music 👌
This is great 👍
You’re great!
Damn, it just hit me!
Vampirism is like a daedric STD, and Serana went for it like there was no tomorrow.
Now make the greatest Werecreature in Elder Scrolls
Akatosh turned their back on Vyrthur…I supposed thats so literal that even the Sun wont touch him…
Hes not wrong for feeling betrayed!
That's what happens when you Simp for the Sun.
Therapist: "So tell me... what's going on?"
Vyrthur: "I am dispicable... feel so lost even the Sun doesn't wanna touch me."
Jokes aside though when taking on Vyrthur was a very memorable battle for me, more to than Harkon in my opinion.
From his massive heath bar, to his lineage, and long list of achievements (even owning a oblivion realm) truly he's the GOAT of vampire kind.
... The hero of Kavatch also 'owned' a realm of oblivion when he literally became Sheagorath.
Its so cool that we can hear name of the hero of kavatch in almost every video of ranking hes dids were legendary damn he's realy the strongest protagonist
1:32 Feels like something Neloth would say.
I didn't know about some of these characters, so thanks
And that's why Rada Alsheran is the GOAT! The GOAT!
Rada Al-Saran for sure
I know the gods don’t intervene with mortal affairs but I really can’t believe arkay didn’t help lamae whatsoever I feel bad for her
Being a sword singer to begin with alone already seems pretty OP lol but couple that with being the leader of the grey host and having been alive with the strain of vampirism for as long as Rada has been is just an insane amount of power lol but idk Babette wasn't one to be messed with either. And of course there was the count of Skingrad from Oblivion, basically a permanent medieval governor without anyone in a position of authority above him. Yeah the Count with the deranged basement wife is the real most powerful vamp, hands down lol
I’m disappointed I didn’t include him. While not powerful he is great for being a vampire that rules one of the greatest cities in Cyrodiil.
Babette. She isn't just a vampire she has the immunity of being a child in TES! that makes her hands down the most powerful vampire. No one can do her any harm whatsoever!
If being immortal means getting touched by a demonic looking demon, consider myself dead.
molag's balls
cool video old Nelly, it makes me want to know if there's any werewolves, necromancers, or other sapient baddies worth mentioning.

Oh wait😂😂😂😂I love it
What's interesting is that the bloodlines that seem to come earlier in the timeline such as Lame Bal's line and Harkon's line seem to either be merely inconvenienced by the sun or not affected by it at all while the well "newer" bloodlines seem to be far more hindered from it almost kinda makes me think that Molag Bal specifically nerfed his own disease to make sure no types of vampires like Rada could try and defy him again although that might just be me speculating
Outro still iconic 👌

commenting before watching the video.
i just really like playing as a Vampire and in every single one of my Skyrim playthroughts i ended up as one, if you ask me why i will always answear with two words; poison immunity. also because i like the shiny eyes but that doesnt play as big of a role on my choice since i exclusivelly play on first person. also, in every playthrought i become a Werewolf before becoming a Vampire, since its much easier to finish Dawnguard as a Werewolf, and no, i never choose Clan Volkihar, after i finish Dawnguard (and unlock all the special items like explosive darts, dwemer crossbows and both the Rune Shield and Rune Axe even though i never use them) i just ask for Serana to turn me into a Vampire Lord. I refuse to be a common Vampite. and yes, i do use Harkon's Sword as my main weapon for the rest of the playthrought and yes i do regret not sidding with Clan Volkihar every single time because the special rings are broken as fuck.
17:01 where fus?
7:25 vyrthut sat on his butt for thousands of years waiting for the daugjter of coldharbor instead of wandering tamriel to seek one out and if he had he could have destroyed all mortal life thousands of years ago
What I like about ravenwatch and really most of his coven is that they don’t drink blood. They do but compared to the other vampires especially on this list what they drink is nothing. Quite literally starving themselves yet can still probably beat the rest of the vampires on this list when prepared
I appreciate you not calling Harkon a dumbass for going after the prophecy, since Nirn survived *without a sun* during the dawn era anyway, and if you actually do use the Bloodcursed Arrows it clearly doesn't get rid of the sun, just corrupts it.

If I remember right all vampire clans have unique abilities like Lamae beolfags clan not being affected by the sun and just being stronger at night but the volkihar clans abilities are 1: being able to phase through solid ice and 2: being the physically strongest vampires but that just it it’s physically strongest not strongest overall
Yeah Harkon just had to sacrifice a 1000 people but Valerica and Serana had to have a personal session with Molag Bal
Would dagoth ur and his ashvampires count?
Ash Vampires are not technically vampires from what I read, they are in a separate class altogether.
But who would win, Rada al-Saran with his Shehai, or Pelinal Whitestrake at full rage?
The greatest in Skyrim (not counting Player Character) is Serana!!!!!
I legit thought for the greatest vampire you were gonna pull a fast one and nominate your own OC vampire for the top spot, that would of been hilarious 😂
