it's unbelievable what happened to my iPhone XR , before installing IOS 18 Wi-Fi signal was so poor but after installing iOS18 my phone started receiving my router signal with an immense strength that I couldn't believe , also my battery performance improved , I just don't know what happened but this is the best update I ever made
If u have a lot of photos get an external ssd and adapter and transfer all your uncompressed photos there it’s the best decision i ever made I got like 80 gigs back
My iPhone 13 Pro Max has been getting hot on the back and the front lately and I hardly have any apps on here and don’t play any games on it. Do you know what the issue could be? I’ve had it since November 2021 and cannot afford to upgrade at the moment. My mom had her iPhone 8 Plus for. 2018-August 2024 had way more apps than me and used it 24/7.
@@Texasmade713 I kinda have a solution for ya. But firstly, it’s so ridiculous how Apple has been making updates only stable and clean via DFU (itunes) mode. Why can’t we have a clean update via OTA? btw, the tip is to install the version via itunes (cleaning and erasing all data without icloud backups) try to save your data (such as photos, videos, recordings and etc) on another server like Gdrive idk. It’ll prevent any bug to go along with the installation of the clean software. I did that and it worked for me.
I'm on 17.7 on my 15P waiting to 18.0.1/2. But with this update on the first couple of days I have some wifi connectivity issues, and some lags on the keyboard. Let's see if it continues on the next few days. 17.6.1 was neary perfect.
I installed both. Security is my top priority as I don't do anything fancy with it. I installed iOS 17.7 in the afternoon and installed iOS 18 in the evening. So far, everything is fine with my iphone 15.

I will take no chances with a new release…the last 3 years Apple really did not good with their new releases. I wait until 18.2 or even 18.3. My experience with iOS 15,16 and 17 for ex. the banking apps do not follow the releases as fast as Apple releases them. So I wait for stability.

@@radicallybean I do know there has been plenty of betas since June, I'm subscribed to this channel and see news of it posted almost daily since the keynote. Despite this there are always a multitude of bugs as soon as the main .0 update is released, and always most of them are fixed with the .0.1 release. That is why I am holding off for now. Honestly I'm considering holding off entirely until 18.1 releases with the baseline Apple Intelligence in October and I would have a much more refined update and software experience on my 15 Pro.
iOS 18.0 has been smooth for the most part on my iPhone 11, only issue is the update has been draining a little more battery than usual. I've also noticed a couple of stutters here and there switching between apps but nothing crazy. In hindsight I should have stayed on iOS 17.7 and waited a week or so to download iOS 18.1 for the smoother experience but overall I'm happy with all the new features 😅

I’m on iOS 18 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max with 83% battery health. The battery is definitely better than 17.6.1. Performance is smooth. But the best battery I got was on iOS 15.6.1
@@princeashish3536 honest answer is No. if you are ready to sacrifice some part of your battery then iOS 18 is to go for because of features. There are literally no features in iOS 17. But if I were you, I would stay on 15.6.1. You may miss out on customisation when it comes to installing iOS18 by staying on iOS15.6.1 but still iOS 15.6.1 is best any day for both battery and performance. Maybe when you’ll replace the battery, at that time it might be worth to upgrade to iOS 18.

I’m missing the background blur in widgets page and gallery of apps so much. I rlly don’t know why on earth apple decided to remove that on ios 18.0. Now the home page feels so ugly and unpolished :/
My Phone did the 17.7 Update before the Ios 18! After hearing about the 18, it threw me a Curve with the 17.7 first as I hadn’t heard there would be That Update First!
I prob shouldve updated to 17.7 instead of 18. Although I dont think I was given the option of 17.7 I only saw ios 18. It came in pretty big too. 10.53 I think. Theres so many bugs on ios 18 though. The phone lags a lot and calls go in and out. My main issue is the icloud backup storage bug. I believe there is a database corruption in the icloud backup storage which is causing the backup storage to increase instead of get smaller. When u delete old backups and backup again the backup should decrease not increase. This problem started in ios 18 on my iphone se 2022 They prob wont fix it though for about a year or more. Thats usually what apple does. They never fix the big issues like this one no matter how many times Ive reported it on feedback website
My experience on iOS 18 has been very stable, surprised. My phone seems to be more responsive and battery life seems to last a little longer. I do hate that airdrop replaced the cellular data button, what’s up with that.
I just updated my 13 pro max I’ve had since Nov 2021 to iOS 17.7 the back of my phone has been getting hot lately I don’t play any games on my phone and I don’t have that many apps Safari takes up the most percent of the battery it says and I’m at 88% maximum battery capacity
Switching back to 17.7 IOS 18 is not that stable as expected. Phone gets hot, glitches while opening or closing app. just does not feel smooth most of the time. Iphone 14 user.
Please don’t let the negative comments from a few clueless people dissuade you from mentioning the obviously buggy wallpaper saturation issues in iOS. It still desaturates, and when blur is applied to the Home Screen, it over- saturates.

Apples software QA is absolute dog water, amongst the worst in the industry, but they have rightly calculated that the average users couldn’t identify their u-kno-what from a hole in the ground, and that people will buy their products regardless.

It goes very well considering it’s the first days after been out to the public but in my iPhone 14 Pro I’ve noticed some lags shuttering and some frame drops from here and there ! I hope iOS 18.1 will fix some issues and make it more stable ! Also my battery is draining a lot after the update but I know it’s normal cause the phone needs some days to start learning your daily motives
@@jasolynhill7160 That's Apple ecosystem. Its like a spider web 😃 U can expect apple products to last 3 years without an issue of os compatibility if you buy all apple products in one shot. My point is buy iphone and watch together released on same year to avoid this dilemma! Always update to latest OS by January. March is always safe! Beyond march, the update will also degrade your camera performance. These are the lessons I learnt on being into Apple ecosystem for the past 3 years. I have installed IOS 18 on my 14 Plus and 13 Pro Max devices , now my Airtel India SIM card is not getting detected on both IOS 18 Devices . Same SIM card works fine on my iPhone 6s Plus. SIM card failure is the message on IOS 18 devices, strange thing is that other service providers sim works fine on the new OS. so now I am thinking to reset the 18 just for to fix my Airtel SIM issue.
You can try resetting network settings. Do report back if it works bhai. I'm in a dilemma whether to upgrade or not. Also if you could tell if it's any better than iOS 17 other than the SIM issue like performance, battery life? Is it more laggy?

Hey Aaron weird bug on ios 18. When you minimize a UA-cam video into Picture in Picture the volume goes completely low. Even when you bring down the control center and play with it a little bit it does the same thing the only way to fix is to close and reopen the UA-cam app.
My iPhone 15 Pro is on iOS 17.7 and I run a geekbench test on it and got a single-core score of (2958) and multi-score of (7419). I will not update until iOS 18 gets a better. I notice with the beta versions of iOS 18 the multi core score of iPhone 15 Pro’s got progressively lower than it did on iOS 17. I viewed MKBHD’s video and saw the geekbench stats on 15 Pro it scored 6,276 on CPU multi core. That’s quite a lot of decrease CPU score even though the new A18 Pro still has the same amount of of cores as the prior A17 Pro.
My AirPods Pro 2 noise cancellation is no longer strong enough to block out my microwave. I used to not be able to hear my microwave now I can. They messed with the firmware.

@@goofagk4679 Since some time has passed, I can easily say 17.7 was the last true stable update few bugs (if any), battery life was so much better than before, and it stayed cool so maybe with some time passing itll improve for you. sorry to hear about your battery life, mine dropped 4% in a whole month so i feel that. I regret updating to 18.0.1 i only did so for my Apple Watch Series 10

iOS 17 was terrible on my 13 pro max. Apple finally done the job properly, literally no issues at all since I’ve updated on iOS 18.

It can take up to a week for things to stabilize when you upgrade to a new operating system. You just have to give it more time.

No, it came out the day iOS 18 released at the same time. You can choose whether or not to update to iOS 17.7 or OS 18.

Hi, my battery drains faster with ios 18 than ios 17.6.1, do you think with ios 18.1 the battery will be better than ios 18.0? Also would you recommend me to downgrade to ios 17.7 RC? ( If the battery will be stable on 17.7RC I will never upgrade to 18 or newer) (iphone 15 Pro Max) thanks!

as of the moment im downgrading again to 17.6.1 hahaha from ios 18.1.1 i thought battery is back there. But still a meh. So i 'll wait it to be more polish

Updated to ios18 on iPhone xr and it’s working ok till now.
It goes very well considering it’s the first days after been out to the public but in my iPhone 14 Pro I’ve noticed some lags shuttering and some frame drops from here and there ! I hope iOS 18.1 will fix some issues and make it more stable ! Also my battery is draining a lot after the update but I know it’s normal cause the phone needs some days to start learning your daily motives

I think they know their devices can handle future iOS-es but would like their customers to have an option instead of not getting updates

If you downgrade to iOS 17.7 on iPhone and try to re pair Apple Watch , you can’t , have to install iOS 18 😢says iPhone needs iOS update
@@jasolynhill7160 That's Apple ecosystem. Its like a spider web 😃 U can expect apple products to last 3 years without an issue of os compatibility if you buy all apple products in one shot. My point is buy iphone and watch together released on same year to avoid this dilemma! Always update to latest OS by January. March is always safe! Beyond march, the update will also degrade your camera performance. These are the lessons I learnt on being into Apple ecosystem for the past 3 years. Now i have upgraded to 16 pro max being Apple fanboy 😉
I have installed IOS 18 on my 14 Plus and 13 Pro Max devices , now my Airtel India SIM card is not getting detected on both IOS 18 Devices . Same SIM card works fine on my iPhone 6s Plus.
SIM card failure is the message on IOS 18 devices, strange thing is that other service providers sim works fine on the new OS. so now I am thinking to reset the 18 just for to fix my Airtel SIM issue.
You can try resetting network settings. Do report back if it works bhai. I'm in a dilemma whether to upgrade or not. Also if you could tell if it's any better than iOS 17 other than the SIM issue like performance, battery life? Is it more laggy?
I have tried even reinstalling the IOS 18 from apple site and still facing the same issue with my old SIM.I did not have any other major issues with performance or battery life on my 14Plus as its new, works great .
Hey Aaron weird bug on ios 18. When you minimize a UA-cam video into Picture in Picture the volume goes completely low. Even when you bring down the control center and play with it a little bit it does the same thing the only way to fix is to close and reopen the UA-cam app.
My iPhone 15 Pro is on iOS 17.7 and I run a geekbench test on it and got a single-core score of (2958) and multi-score of (7419). I will not update until iOS 18 gets a better.
I notice with the beta versions of iOS 18 the multi core score of iPhone 15 Pro’s got progressively lower than it did on iOS 17. I viewed MKBHD’s video and saw the geekbench stats on 15 Pro it scored 6,276 on CPU multi core. That’s quite a lot of decrease CPU score even though the new A18 Pro still has the same amount of of cores as the prior A17 Pro.
My AirPods Pro 2 noise cancellation is no longer strong enough to block out my microwave. I used to not be able to hear my microwave now I can. They messed with the firmware.
If 17.7 installed then ios 18 is 6gb but if directly installed from 17.6.1 it’s 4gb…. I didn’t understand difference 😂
This is the first thing that you should have done. Not iOS 18!

Thanks for the video, i just asked in the other video if you were planning on a 17.7 video hah, I updated to this version for the time being. It super drained the battery today almost 5HRS of SOT and im at 27%. The tragic thing is my battery health dropped to 95% at 211 cycles, when just 2 weeks ago it was at 97% at 200 cycles so that sucked to see :\
How is it now ?? I Regret updating my I phone13 to 17.7 my battery was 80% now 76% in 4 days 😤😭
@@goofagk4679 Since some time has passed, I can easily say 17.7 was the last true stable update few bugs (if any), battery life was so much better than before, and it stayed cool so maybe with some time passing itll improve for you. sorry to hear about your battery life, mine dropped 4% in a whole month so i feel that. I regret updating to 18.0.1 i only did so for my Apple Watch Series 10

I did..and then went on to ios 18 on my xr. So far I'm impressed. Haven't seen a huge diff with my 14.
iOS 18.0 on 14 Pro, updated last night. System data taking about 12GB of ram from 1-6GB on 17.6.1 even after restarting the device.
If you've been using Apple products as long as me (1984), you'll likely remember when Apple actually did their own internal Beta Testing (unlike Microsoft who let their users do it for them).
There is a bug I believe with focus at least with my14 pro max I cannot get the focus to delete or change

i dont think you should update it because i am regretting it from ios 16. These ios 16 and 17 are so buggy and 18 is worst with bugs as i have read many comments

Dear my battery life now is very bad after the udpate to ios 18. I use 13 pro max.. its been 3 days and battery life is now very poor. Before the update the battery life lasted a one whole day and sometimes 2 . Now i need to charge 2 times battery health is 89%.. they need to release another update to improve battery life

They don’t force you to do anything.
Seven years of support is a very long time so that’s pretty good. You can still use it on the older version though.

Mine broke after a couple years cuz my wifi didn't work. Never used Ipad ever again and instead used Galaxy Tab S7 fe. Same thing happened and I got a desktop. The galaxy tab was old tho so ye

I updated. I didn’t want to updated. It’s like Apple company force me, to updated. Yes, I went to delete the updated. Some reason, the Apple iPhone somehow gave me update the new version. I can’t go back. Cause they won’t allow you. Their should be option. Where you can updated it not. You can delete the update. Without have to downloaded first, just to delete it. I’m mad at Apple company. I’m stuck with 17.7.1 I want to go back to 16 iOS. But don’t remember what iOS 16 it was.
