Intermediate Series - Video 1 - Calibrating Drone Reeds

In the first video of our intermediate series, we will discuss drone reed calibration. This is an important step as, just like the airtight bag, this will assure that your pipes are the most air efficient possible, and therefore easier to play.

If your chanter is 478. What frequency should the drones be ?

Tenors tune an octave below the chanter, and the bass an octave below the tenors. So the tenors should tune at 239 and the bass at 120.
