Thanks William! I only had the Jabba the Hutt Playset when I was a kid, so when I connected with that one again it brought back so many good memories. Maybe just obtain the ones you had when you were little?

Ahhhh the smell of vintage cardboard in the morning, Lol... the playsets definitely were a product of their time. There is a great resource on the Forums page of Rebel Scum that features good pics of playsets, ships, creatures etc.... with cardboard and baggies and whatever came in the packaging. Pretty awesome!! Look for "pic Heavy" in the title. I think it started back in 2008. Die Wanna Wanga!

Another amazing deep dive into these classic SW playsets. I appreciate all of the background & time showing the history & individual components that came with these sets.
This is another set that I've been quietly on the hunt to add to my boxed collection as well. That cardboard is so fragile - and I rarely ever see the cardboard packing insert sold with the boxed versions online.
Despite the base being reuse & the majority of this being an out of proportion AT-AT, this is still an interesting set & displays well too.

I'm surprised it was a $10 playset in 1980. It really seemed like it should have been cheaper since I had it as a kid, and it was mostly cardboard. Thanks for another fun blast from the past!

I knew about the jawa playset and I got the hoth playset in a lot I purchased, I thought it just lost color over time,I was about to paint it brown lol

I think you did well. I still have my childhood one of these, and its in good shape. Its been in storage for awhile so I haven't looked at it in awhile. I picked up the instruction sheet this year on ebay. Still trying to track down a box to make it complete. Finding standalone boxes for sale is hard!

Nice one Joey. Decent price for a complete boxed set. I have this set too, boxed and complete, except for the original inserts. I got mine in 2008 but forget what I paid for it. A much rarer harder one to find here in the UK as it's Kenner - they don't come up that often here.

Some of you may know, but there's a Canadian variant where there are NO sideguns on the AT-AT.
This one was released very early on.
I love the choice of figures that were provided in some of the releases.
There are some "Special Offer!" replacement stickers that I'd like to have. They make 'em all. :)

I love this play set, just got one for the first time recently. Hoth Adventure set is much better play set than the Rebel Command center, but I know it's much more desirable and looks cooler with the red box. Is that your same Hoth Snowtrooper figure you had in a previous video? I mentioned it is super clean and very white 👌, should grade it👍I would call it a Mini-Me Wampa😂🙌

??🤔🤨?? Really? Imperfections? Looks like it has all the black trim with none missing. Biggest thing that down grades those figures is the whiteness, sure looks very white, limbs and torso. But, you gotta have a clean one for the display also brother 😎✊
I think the Echo base backdrop is better suited for something like the Hoth Turret playset.
It really elevates the threat (of the Imp. Probot being SO close to the base) and the play value, in my opinion.
That would be an interesting custom to make!

I have an idea how to go about it, the Echo base backdrop but in
"Battle Station" backdrop form and the Turret playset base sets on the cardboard "flooring" of the backdrop.

Such good information Joey! When we were kids back in the day, we had no idea so much of this stuff was repurposed. You would just look in the catalogs like Sears and wish you would get certain things. I remember circling specific items in the catalog for my mom to hopefully see. Great playset too man!

I grew up in a small town. In the early 1980’s the local hardware still had some of these toys that no one bought in the 80’s. No one wanted that cannon you had. Markdown after markdown it sat for years!
Ah tell me you picked one up?!?! I remember these toys in the hardware stores too in the mark down bins, more the carded figs, but can you imagine getting these for 50 cents sometimes!!! Thanks for sharing brother and I hope all is well 🙏
Finding the cardboard in good condition is such a pain. Almost worth finding one and packing it away and using a repro cardboard up for display just to keep the condition of the original in good shape
Yes I had a very hard time finding one that had decent cardboard. I’m not a reproduction collection, so I can’t go that route, but I have seen many people selling reproductions of these for expensive prices as well.
I can't remember how much I paid but it was less than $100 out of the box. Also the elevator is broke on mine.
