Heya Joey! I am totally staggered by how much you’ve invested into your Collection so far! Yak Face prices are insane! It’s truly hard to believe that back in 1985 they were only £1.50 and £1.80 on the Triple Logo Cards. I have three or maybe four Power of the Force Figures with Coins. Those were bought back in the day whilst on a visit to London and Kent. As a child I didn’t get why some Figures had coins and other’s didn’t? But thirty something years later that particular enigma has been clarified! I realize posting on Forums and watching UA-cam how fortunate I actually am, especially as I ended up with so many doubles- not doubles in their hundreds but a few. It’s even harder to believe that I sold or gave away practically the whole Vintage run back in 1995 and 1999? What I have now is a paired down Collection with a few variants. I cannot imagine if I was a contemporary Collector starting a Vintage Run!? I guess that it would be something beyond my mean’s. For me I guess that I am fortunate that I never got bought the Droid Factory and I never even heard of a Blue Snaggletooth until the Advent of the Internet. I think that at some point that I mentioned that I thought that the Blue Snaggletooth was something of a Hoax? But guess what I am trying to say is that I am not a completist? If that Makes sense? I never had any of these two items as a child and I do not have that historical, emotional attachment to them. I guess as I might have said once that I am content. I really want to do a series, but I’ve not had the time and certainly do not have the means for a Slick Presentation. Was Surprised that your Yak Face given his condition cost so much??? Sure you didn’t get him from a bunch of Jawa’s? There must have a Sand Crawler parked up somewhere? Yeah I’m pretty dumbfounded and completely thunderstruck! The one thing that I like about collecting the Modern Figure’s is that I can pick and mix especially as Hasbro and Disney are so cynical in what they produce and what they believe the Collector will want. For example, the Mandelorian has been out now for nearly three years and the Figure is the Bandai Fig Arts Figure and a 3-D Printed Model of both Mando and Grogu! I think that the only Figure’s that I really want to complete a Run on is Rogue One. The Sequel Trilogy Figure’s I buy every now and then when they are insanely cheap as they actually look good. Yeah, Crazy Prices and Crazy Days in equal measure! Take it easy! Look forward to the next episode.

I really do wish I was a seasoned collector of these back then and went to toy cons back then. I've always loved the toys, but never had any money back then to be a constant buyer for figures. You have such a great knowledge of these, it doesn't matter what the presentation is, I would enjoy really great and well thought out content! I will one day collect more modern, but only choice figures as I want to collect the entire vintage line first, which may take a lifetime :). When I found my Yakface it was an amazing day. Went to a toy show. A friend of mine was there as a seller and took me right iver to the guy. Mine is scuffed up, probably grade a 75 or so. But, he is mine and always will be.
Hey Joey. Funny story, 8 years ago or something i was attending a queens day market, second hand market to celebrate the bday of our queen. There i found a bin with old oddball figures. I searched and found a Bwing pilot, stormtrooper and a Yak Face. The old man wamted 10 ct a figure. I always thought it was incomplete but your info told me that if i have the European veraion, then my figure is complete as is!
Hi Joey, Great videos dude.....Back in '85 I picked up most of the last 17 for £1.59 each including Yak Face, I still have my complete vintage collection all with their original weapons from my childhood,over the last decade I've added a Blue Snaggletooth,some variants and a few Stormtroopers ,extra Sand People and some Jawas....not fussed about rocket firing Boba Fett..way outta my budget.

Nice breakdown with Yak Face, he is elusive. My story is pretty simple, I bought my first one in 1993, part of a bundle, I paid on average, $25 per figure. That particular Yak Face is in Florida getting graded now, but I still wanted a loose Yak Face. I recently found a seller in Florida and I made him a deal for multiple figures which included a loose Yak Face. The condition isn't great, but perfect for a loose example. Remarkably, that figure is still in Florida, close to where my other Yak Face is, with the plan being that I'll pick them both up when I travel to Florida later this year.

I now have 2. I gifted Sean Crawford with the carded new Yak Face with a coin that came with the Jabba Sail Barge to complete his collection.
Well, I got 4 of your top 5 correct, not all in the right slot though. Can't believe how far your collection has come in just 10 months. Killin' it Joey. I'd shed a few years over passing on the 80 graded Yak Face as well. Like you said, hindsight. Oh well. I like your case Yak Face pick up though. Seems wild that they're fetching these prices with paint wear, but these days, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Yak Face has always been one of those Grail figures, so welcome to the club (finally)! @@thepadawancollectorofficial I got my loose YF & my Tri-Logo MOC YF both around 2002 I think. Prices seemed "high" then, but nothing like today's prices obviously. As you mentioned, I did most of my (re)purchasing of vintage between 95-03 like many others in our age group. Right before the internet & just after it became more common. Early eBay was amazing. But lots of great items could be found all over. Garage sales in the 90's were pretty great too. Good times. Just wished I would have picked up more & got rid of less. Hahaha.
Though Yak came on a Canadian POTF cardback, he was never officially sold in Canada as far as we can tell. That was very late in the line for Canada (we had no POTF line). It seems that all the Canadian POTF carded Yak Faces went to Australia and sold there (Kenner Canada had a record of working directly with Toltoys Australia). We're still trying to track down the details, but I have never seen a loose Yak in the wild in Canada in all my years.

Once you finish your collection, you need to start on the really cool stuff; Glasslite, Top Toys, and Uzay! I've been working on these for a while now.
The trick to collecting these figures is patience, and to be not so picky. Rarely are they going to be in complete condition and mint shape. Just pick them up when they come along for a good price. Believe it or not, I've never paid more than $250 per figure. Luckily there aren't that many in each group, 8 in the main glasslite group, 7 in top toys and uzay 13. However in this collection of figures also includes the 3 ultimate holy grails, Vlix, BlueStars and Headman! So good luck, your going to need it!

I’m sure it was released in Australia on the power of the force card as well .also l bought a nearly loose complete set with about 120 figures the small vehicles and millennium falcon for $250 just at the start of the hype around the late 90s and yes it had a yak face in mint condition no scratches except a fine line under one of its feet
for YakFace. I keep hearing “everyone” sees them “all the time” in Denmark or places in the UK and Canada for $50 “all day long” -but, whenever I tell them I’ll buy 100 of them, they never come through. hmmm. imagine that.
Hey Joey! I don't know if you already know this or someone's already told you about it but there are antique shops at Orange Circle at Orange, CA that have a significant amount of vintage figures. I'm not sure if they have figures that you don't have yet, but it might be worth checking out if ever you're around. I was just there earlier today.
Most expensive lose figure is a toss up between blue snaggletooth, luke stormtrooper, R2 d2 lite saber or brown snake yoda. I would say that blue snaggeltooth is the oldest and rarest, it must be blue snags.

I knew that Blue Snags was #1, but I was shocked that Amanaman was not the #2. My wide made me promise to save most of the last 17 for later in my run, which is wife-speak for, "I need options for Christmas and Birthdays". XD I am so glad that you do your research. I am a huge fan of Stan Solo Creation's customs, but there is a risk when hunting for Vinyl Cape Jawa and some of the Last 17 that you will see one of his reproduction pieces being passed off as genuine vintage. I feel bad for the newer collector who doesn't research each figure and winds up with a reproduction unknowingly.
Wow that’s a great price for a Yak. Yea I started collecting at the tail end of the pandemic when all the prices just went skyrocket! You will find a great deal for a snag. Even if you wait to find one, you will. Good luck Paul and MTFBWY

I had no idea of its value, I've had this figure (the tri logo one) from new with the card also. It's loose, with some tiny paint loss, but I paid 99p for it! Or rather, my parents paid 99p for it 😂 I am so glad I've still got it because I could not afford one now 😅
Joey I wouldn't laugh at you. I just happened to get lucky. I ran into a guy in k b toys around nineteen ninety three mean him we'll became friends When I was 16 I got rid of my Star Wars figures. I thought oh I'm too old for these. I gave them to my nephew who was about 3 or four at time Back to the story about my friend We were talking in the Toy aisle. He told me he sells action figures. At his home. I told him man i'm only looking For 1 figure Boba Fett. One day I went out to his house he had a shed in his backyard. He opened the door to the shed and OMG The whole back of the door was covered in nothing but carded Star Wars figures. In the price range anywhere from 15 to $20 each.. That's what got me hooked. That's what got me back in the saddle of collecting. And then about a year later. I found a collectible store selling even more figures in my city of portland oregon

I recently picked one up in the same condition for £265 which converts to around $335 which i think was a great price all things considered. Also, my sister's boyfriend is selling his collection which includes a Luke Skywalker in stormtrooper outfit. Do i tell him how much it's worth or stay silent and get it at an insanely low price? 😂
The one figure that boggles my mind, price wise, is Luke Skywalker in his Jedi Knight outfit. Just a few years ago that figure could be had for ~$65-$80. All of a sudden it’s routinely selling for ~$200! I wonder if received a market bump from the Mandalorian?
Yes that surprised me as well! I think it’s a molded face, and I have to get it checked. It’s hard to do that when I’m in live hunts becisse I don’t have reference guides or internet access sometimes. I need to get more knowledge under my belt and that just comes with time. @@thepadawancollectorofficial I got my loose YF & my Tri-Logo MOC YF both around 2002 I think. Prices seemed "high" then, but nothing like today's prices obviously. As you mentioned, I did most of my (re)purchasing of vintage between 95-03 like many others in our age group. Right before the internet & just after it became more common. Early eBay was amazing. But lots of great items could be found all over. Garage sales in the 90's were pretty great too. Good times. Just wished I would have picked up more & got rid of less. Hahaha.

Though Yak came on a Canadian POTF cardback, he was never officially sold in Canada as far as we can tell. That was very late in the line for Canada (we had no POTF line). It seems that all the Canadian POTF carded Yak Faces went to Australia and sold there (Kenner Canada had a record of working directly with Toltoys Australia). We're still trying to track down the details, but I have never seen a loose Yak in the wild in Canada in all my years.

The trick to collecting these figures is patience, and to be not so picky. Rarely are they going to be in complete condition and mint shape. Just pick them up when they come along for a good price. Believe it or not, I've never paid more than $250 per figure. Luckily there aren't that many in each group, 8 in the main glasslite group, 7 in top toys and uzay 13.
However in this collection of figures also includes the 3 ultimate holy grails, Vlix, BlueStars and Headman! So good luck, your going to need it!

I’m sure it was released in Australia on the power of the force card as well .also l bought a nearly loose complete set with about 120 figures the small vehicles and millennium falcon for $250 just at the start of the hype around the late 90s and yes it had a yak face in mint condition no scratches except a fine line under one of its feet

Hey Joey! I don't know if you already know this or someone's already told you about it but there are antique shops at Orange Circle at Orange, CA that have a significant amount of vintage figures. I'm not sure if they have figures that you don't have yet, but it might be worth checking out if ever you're around. I was just there earlier today.

Most expensive lose figure is a toss up between blue snaggletooth, luke stormtrooper, R2 d2 lite saber or brown snake yoda. I would say that blue snaggeltooth is the oldest and rarest, it must be blue snags.

I am so glad that you do your research. I am a huge fan of Stan Solo Creation's customs, but there is a risk when hunting for Vinyl Cape Jawa and some of the Last 17 that you will see one of his reproduction pieces being passed off as genuine vintage. I feel bad for the newer collector who doesn't research each figure and winds up with a reproduction unknowingly.

I had no idea of its value, I've had this figure (the tri logo one) from new with the card also. It's loose, with some tiny paint loss, but I paid 99p for it! Or rather, my parents paid 99p for it 😂 I am so glad I've still got it because I could not afford one now 😅

Joey I wouldn't laugh at you. I just happened to get lucky. I ran into a guy in k b toys around nineteen ninety three mean him we'll became friends When I was 16 I got rid of my Star Wars figures. I thought oh I'm too old for these. I gave them to my nephew who was about 3 or four at time Back to the story about my friend We were talking in the Toy aisle. He told me he sells action figures. At his home. I told him man i'm only looking For 1 figure Boba Fett. One day I went out to his house he had a shed in his backyard. He opened the door to the shed and OMG The whole back of the door was covered in nothing but carded Star Wars figures. In the price range anywhere from 15 to $20 each.. That's what got me hooked. That's what got me back in the saddle of collecting. And then about a year later. I found a collectible store selling even more figures in my city of portland oregon

I recently picked one up in the same condition for £265 which converts to around $335 which i think was a great price all things considered. The one figure that boggles my mind, price wise, is Luke Skywalker in his Jedi Knight outfit. Just a few years ago that figure could be had for ~$65-$80. All of a sudden it’s routinely selling for ~$200! I wonder if received a market bump from the Mandalorian?
Yes that surprised me as well! I think it’s a molded face, and I have to get it checked. It’s hard to do that when I’m in live hunts becisse I don’t have reference guides or internet access sometimes. I need to get more knowledge under my belt and that just comes with time.
