How I Tie a Uni Knot for Fishing Swimbaits

Here is my take on using and tying the Uni Knot for big swimbaits. I use it for both 20 and 25 lb Mono and Copoly and have never had a failure.
This technique can also be used for joining braid to leader via a Uni to Uni Knot connection. Wrap the braid 12-15 times and the leader side 7.

The only knot I tie and have for over 40 years of fishing fresh and saltwater and throwing big swimbaits (3-8oz+ ) is the good ole advanced clinch knot… hasn’t failed me yet!

If it ain't broke... confidence is key with knots. Tie whatever you're most confident in, there's no right or wrong. If it works for you, then use it.

I trust a palomar for all my knots key is not to let line twist over each other I throw 10oz swimbaits all day with a palomar that sure is a good looking uni though Thanks for the tip Cheers!! :))

Have you tried the double line uni where you double it like a palomar and then do a uni with the doubled line? I feel like it's stronger than the normal uni due to there being more line to pull on and spread out the weight, but it doesn't wrap up as well as a standard uni. Just wondering what your thoughts are on it? Either way this tutorial was awesome.

@@swimbaitreviews6847 gotcha. I like the whole doubled line idea, but do you think the single wrap is taking a risk? I think it's a mental thing really because all of those knots are super strong, but I'm still kind of skeptical.
