I have always been terrified and scared that I was not good enough to follow my dream of competing at one of America's top horse shows, (you win a Rolex watch and $50,000 if you win). I always wanted to do this since I was a little girl, right before my mom passed away she told me, "I have given you the horse, the training, and the drive to get you there, but you have to want it sweetheart. Make me proud." After that I went into over drive and pushed myself to work hard. I did not get the chance last year because of my age, but this year I have a brand new trainer who has been there countless times and above all else I have the drive now. I am confident that my horse and I can qualify for this show and actually give my dream a shot. Thank you so much for making video's like this because you are one of the reasons why I actually picked myself up and got my life together in order to give my dream a shot. You are an inspiration.
you just explained how i am afraid to go to the university scared that all my hard work on my career and than i get there and relize NO i just wasted my time i want something else...or im not as passionate as i tough i was its super hard when u spend all your money and than u come to the conclusion you dont want that..thats what im afraid of.
im starting universty hopefully in the fall after being in community college since i graduated hs in 2008

What are you going to school for? I switched majors 3 times before speaking to my counselor about my ambivalence. I took a test that said I should work in the accounting field. I am currently a senior in the accounting program at my school. And yes, just like Nikki said there are going to be classes that you realize that this is just outside your realm of understanding and if you persevere, you will surprise yourself.
Start with your basics in the end you will find where you want to be in the end.

well i keept failing math and put it off for a long time and last minute which pisses me off ..im a communications major but want to come back and do dental aka orthodontist
LOL! I am an accounting major and I failed Algebra once, Finite math twice, and barely passed Calculus with a D so I totally understand Math. Here is what helped me:
Find out if you have a math tutor and go regularly. I know it is hard to make time for that but if you struggle it is necessary. Or see if your professor has office hours and go with worked problems out of your textbook. Show them where you are having problems and have them explain until you understand.
Also I think it has good to have a long-term goal in mind (orthodontist). The first time I went to college, I didn't and I actually flunk out my first year. This part sounds kind of silly but it helped me. I made a poster with my goals on, each idea had a visual representation. It was a gentle reminder of what was at stake for my classes. Now I have a spreadsheet on my computer for that.
Last, when it comes to math. You need to do your homework as soon as possible. If you can walk out of the class and into a study hall, do your homework right then and there. I would also suggest that you rework difficult problems at least once or twice before your next class.

I NEVER comment on UA-cam videos, but I found myself nodding and literally moved to tears when you were talking about fear. A year ago I moved my husband and I far from home to take a job after graduating college. After a year, I'm going through that same "is this what I really want to do/am I just scared/or do I want to start a completely different career" internal fight. My husband and family have been so supportive, but it's hard to explain to them how scared I am to make a mistake and take a different path. THANK YOU for making me feel like I'm not alone in that. this month's series is honestly so inspirational, motivational, and relatable to how I have been feeling recently. I have been going to college full time and going down a path that is not a perfect fit for me, but in my mind it is more "realistic". I feel like forever I have been scared.. or I mean "thrilled" (; to follow my dreams of pursuing acting and becoming a part of the entertainment industry. I recently started my own youtube channel and it honestly made me realize that I am not happy going down the road I currently am. so this year my dream/goal is to pursue acting/entertainment in some way and possibly making a huge leap and moving to LA. It is crazy and scary to think about but that makes me that much more excited about it. ps if you need any actors in your movie hit a girl up (; hahaa no but seriously thank you so much for these videos. you are such a big inspiration to me! love you Nikki!

SO EXCITED FOR THIS MONTHS VIDEOS! I always leave your videos feeling so inspired. It was so nice to hear how you were so nervous to make your first UA-cam videos. I have done the same thing for so long, where I put them up and take them down because I feel like it isn't good enough or I might change my mind about something. I've finally gotten over it and my goal is now to go full force with creating and putting out great content that I like while trying to build and host a community of my own. Can't wait for your future projects and next video, Nikki! You're awesome!

Nikki - I just got done reading The Miracle Morning. Based on this book's recommendations, I've changed my habits in the morning to incorporate meditation, affirmations and sometimes exercise. I always try to do the positive affirmations and even look at vision boards on Pinterest. These habits have been so important because I don't dread mornings like I used to. It's personal development right after I wake up. I'm sharing this because I find that reminding myself of the things that make me happy helps me to focus on my dreams and the day ahead first thing in the morning. Thinking about those things puts me on a good path. Thanks for sharing your dreams in this video. It is inspirational - you got this!

All I want to do with my life is be an singer and actress but I didn't know how to go after them or why I'm so afraid. Almost everything you felt I was going through too. Thank you for inspiring me. Wow, Nikki. This was just exactly what I needed to hear today. There is a job opportunity and I was so scared about it, not sure that I could handle it or maybe that I would change my mind and well failure/learn at it. I am so proud of you Nikki for following your dreams! It's so important to follow your dreams. I've always dreamed of being a motivational speaker, I landed my dream job at 18 with a huge organization and thought life was perfect. I was traveling the world, sharing stages with Demi Lovato, Macklemore and tons of celebs, but it wasn't all I thought it would be. Like you said, I had this feeling of "maybe my dream isn't what I want" That scared me, I felt like I was left not knowing what I wanted out of life, because that's all I ever wanted and it wasn't right. I ended up having a bad fall off of a six foot stage and nearly breaking my neck. I was in a neck brace for 5 weeks and off work for nearly 2 months. It was such a wake up call for me. It wasn't that my job wasn't right, it was the situation I was in. I was being pushed passed my limits, on and off 5 airplanes a week etc. I decided to leave the organization as a full time staff and start my own business as a motivational speaker. I've never been so happy in my life, and I truly love what I do everyday. I now have time for other creative outlets I love, making 2 UA-cam videos a week, blogging once a week and doing my speaking. Follow your dreams, and do it YOUR way. Always remember, hope is stronger than fear.

Nikki, I love this video and your viewpoints on fear, it feels so debilitating but it doesn't have to always be like that. I always watch your videos when I need motivation. They're so informative and inspiring! I really appreciate that you stress the importance of mental health and physical health in all your videos. Mental health is always the first step towards holistically bettering yourself.

This video could not come at a more perfect time for me. I am going to be applying to vet school soon, and it has been a dream of mine as a little kid to be a vet. But I have been terrified of applying for the fear of rejection which is why I have been putting off a lot of the stuff I need to do like take the GRE, volunteer and get letters of rec. Watching this video makes me feel so motivated to at least try to chase this passion. It will be really hard to put myself out there, but I think this month will help us all let go of our fears that are holding us back and follow what we are all so passionate about.

I've started writing my very own book that I'd like to publish this year. It's a wellness book that will have recipes, nutrition advice and a nutrition plan (I'm a nutritionist), but also, it will have tips and discussion about enjoying your life, building up your own self esteem, loving who you are and supporting the people in your life rather than bringing them down. I realised in the last few months that writing truly is my passion, and I want to bring something good to the world to help girls and women love who they are and stop talking shit about themselves.
My feminist views are a big part of this which makes me want to empower women, (and hey, dudes too) because we all have something important to contribute to the world.
Nikki you do what makes you happy! And if you don't like it, it's so okay! The fact you share what you do on UA-cam is huge. You put you're self out there, which not a lot of people can do. You are such an inspiration!

I love the topic of February! I have been waiting for motivation videos about following your dream because I have a goal set this year that I want to make happen. I am fifteen and have finally began writing a cookbook this January which I hope can be made and released by my senior year. This new series is basically perfect for my life right now. I'm chasing after my dream career which I guess I'm thrilled about. I had so many dreams that I feel like I'm to scared to persue. I really wanna move either to the UK or the US, I think that's where I will feel the happiest. I wanted that for myself since I was like 8 and now I'm 20 and I didn't drop that dream. But for that moment my biggest dream is to sing more. Sing to other people, maybe sing some stuff on youtube. I was always a little bit of an artsy soul and I would really love to share that with other people. I don't consider myself as talented at all and I often don't even believe in myself as being good in whatever. Your videos and those little speeches you give in them just make me feel a little bit more worthy and kind of confident. I just wish I had enough confidence to step out of my comfort zone and as you said in your previous video "get out of my head". I want to run to for a very large position in a specific service organization. It involves public speaking to get elected and I will be running opposed, which makes me nervous. I'm not afraid of doing the actual duties though so I know I would be silly not to go for it.
I also want to grow my youtube channel, and not be scared of people I know finding out about it. It makes me happy and it is one of my favorite things to do, so I have to stop holding myself back and hiding by thinking this way.

I have the same issue of being afraid to make certain goals. I'm afraid that I could change my mind or reach the end point and realize that the goal isn't my dream anymore. Then I feel like I've wasted time working toward a goal I know longer want! Ugh! This applies to me and my school/career. I'm trying to get into a nursing program, and it's so tough to decide on a career!

i admire you Nikki For a youtuber you're so..... REAL! like, you have fears and insecurities LIKE EVERYONE ELSE & it takes guts to admit that on camera and its SOOOO refreshing I mean you don't see that everyday on youtube. My dream since i was like 13,14 is to be an actress (im 23 now) i went to an audition when i was 16 got told that i did a really good job "but we're not looking for someone in a wheelchair" my biggest fear is to be stuck in a dead end job unhappy rather than doing something im passionate about. i havent been to an audition since because im scared. i dont need somebody telling me im good but they dontt need me because i cant walk. idk just the thought of me not being able to follow my dreams scares me

My dream is to be a journalist for a fashion magazine! And sometimes I think of that and laugh, like "that would never happen, I'm only 14" but in 1 HOUR I have a meeting for a placement at my towns newspaper. I'm going to see behind the scenes and what it takes to be a journalist! It won't be anything fashion related but I have never been for excited.... Or scared! I'm scared that it won't be my dream anymore, that I won't like it. I've wanted to be a journalist for so long, it's hard to remember when I started the thoughts of being one! But this video has given me the push to go into that meeting with my head high and to start doing something that may be very different from others dreams, but it's mine and I'm so happy that I can say I actually have a dream and that I'm actually started to pursue it at the age of 14! :)

For so long, I too, have wanted to audition for a part and start an acting career. Another dream of mine is to start designing and making clothing. Recently I saw that Project Runway Junior is looking for teens to try out and be on the show. I've never actually sewn something and I'm really nervous about this great opportunity. I often feel like I'm not good enough and I should just keep those dreams in the back burner. But watching this video has drifted my decisions and I love you for being so motivational and truthful. #FYDF

Amazing video Nikki! This year I'm following my dream to hopefully becoming a graphic designer in the future. I'm applying to internships for this summer and although I've been going to school for exactly this for almost three years, I'm so scared. What if I can't get an internship? What if when I get there I can't deliver? All of these questions are running through my mind but I'm going to do my best and see where this journey takes me. Something that I'm really trying to go after this year is being on UA-cam. It's something I've wanted to do for so long and I was soooo scared to start!! My fear got in the way of me starting a channel for over a year! So don't feel bad about taking 6 months to upload a video! LOL! But I'm really hoping that this year I can become really committed and grow my channel! Even though I've just started I knew it was something I would love to do for soo long that I'm happy to have just started

Sooo can relate. I too used to do a ton of acting mainly with Broadway actors and a few childhood stars lol but my channel has been focused on ministry cuz I've wanted to help people. Just decided to perform and create instead of just speaking at the camera. Just finished writing my first one & now memorizing. There's a really popular youtuber that's my inspiration and he produced a movie as well!
I figure it will either be the best thing I ever did or the worst! If you learn any good filming techniques video on it! Im learning too! :)
