Netflix Password Sharing Crackdown and what you need to know..

- Опубліковано 4 лют 2023
- Netflix has just announced that they're going to enforce their password sharing rules soon and here's a video to tell you on what you should know regarding this upcoming policy. I personally find it kind of annoying that they're doing this and it's definitely going to backfire and cause a backlash from the community. I believe that a lot of people are going to cancel their subscriptions, especially those who can't deal with the device tracking, email confirmation, and lockout of their accounts. This is a developing story so the news may be updated as time goes from the time this video is released.

this is the craziest thing. I travel all the time some of the hotels have option to log in on the tv or I'm using laptop in different places. this seems like it would be an annoyance to use Netflix at that point.
exactly. they are definitely sacrificing customer convenience which i assume would definitely backfire right back at them with cancellation rates im predicting
@@JeremysTutorials when does this happen in the uk mate any news when it is
@@jonathanbaldwin2195 no idea but hopefully not anytime soon
I have no problem using my laptop because i never logout..
This is the part that gets to me the most, I know for most people it wont be a thing but, before they took down that information on the Netflix site, it said that you would need to set up a primary location and that primary device must be a TV. Well I dont own a tv and have not had one in ten years. Im not buying a wifi ready tv just to get net flix. Also as it stands you need to be premium to stream on two devices at once. If you want to be able to use more thats $20.00 a month. Then on top of that if you go on vacation or someplace for work you need a passcode to get permission to use your own account for seven days then, log back in at my house before I can use it again. What if im away for two weeks and cant sign into my home ip? Will I then have to pay the "outside user" fee if i still want access to my own account. So many things wrong with this.
yeah there was an option for you to pay extra for the extra people that use your account according to the people who saw it 😕
The last thing i do when i go in a vacation is watch tv, but then, that is me.
Not only did they raise their premium prescription, but they also cut good shows off short with only one season. Most good movies moved to Disney Plus. I don't have time for this Mickey Mouse nonsense 😒
I'm in the UK and pay Netflix £15.99 per month for the UHD/4K/4 screens subscription. I allow two of my daughters and their children (my grandchildren) to also use it. We all live in the same town/area. If Netflix ask me for more money I will cancel it. Netflix are just plain greedy.
they really are at this point. sacrificing convenience for more money for themselves aint the move because theyll soon find out it's a lose lose situation
How are you only paying $15.99 for 4 screens? I'm paying a total of $23
I am a Canadian but live in Germany, what I did was to get the standard with adds. The kids profile for my Grand kids when they come over has no adds ( I baby sit a lot ) and it saves me €8.00. So with the money saved I got Disney + so I get double the content for the same amount of money. Grand kids happy win win.

As far as i know, you won't have any problems as long as they don't sign out, this new policy will affect more new customers than old ones that use the same devices over and over, my son and niece are in college in Ohio and California, my sister lives in Chicago and I live in a suburb, so far no problems and let's be honest, there are other services that can't be shared and don't have as much content, so if it became a problem we can divide the cost and still be convenient.
Bye netflix
8 dollars month extra for each person you put on your account so if you pay 16.99 with two accounts if you add 2 more than it cost over 32 dollars ouch
yeah for real; i am not sure if it's $8 extra though or like $2 or $3, but regardless it'll add up

ahh good to know, thanks for the insight!
@@JeremysTutorials No problem,
I’d like to see how this plays out. Apple seems to be doing something similar albeit more competently I have over 30 devices on my Apple ID and I had to remove some of them from my Apple Music in order to be able to download music again. All of the devices are mine and I don’t use all of them for subscriptions so it’ll be interesting to see how they enforce it.
I'm sadly on Netflix I use my dad's Netflix account. He pretty much shares with me. But now looks like I have to go to my dad's place to watch Netflix soon. And that It look like I can't watch it in my location anymore. I'm still am for now. But it just keeps giving me the message to verify my location. I just keep continue do continue to use Netflix. And I'm hoping just to use prime soon instead cuz I rather be on there instead cuz they have more movies. I'm on Disney plus thankfully.. I'm just hoping my dad will get me prime Amazon. If he cancels Netflix. Cuz I don't want to have to just to go to somebody else's house just to watch Netflix once a month cuz I see my dad once mouth on Sundays. And also it's not fair to kids. How are young kids supposed to pay ? This is abuse what there doing. Netflix cant expect kids to pay.
agreed. it's super inconvenient for everyone :(
I'm sorry for Netflix
Yeah well starting today the crackdown begins it is May 24, 2023.
I passwords with my minor children, so that’s not allowed anymore. Either they watch movies at their friends houses to
yikes!
Wow so @10:00 9/10 people who go to collage and higher up use Netflix, yet they don't offer a discount for them? Well, thanks for letting us know that Jeremy! We will be sure to offer some sort of discount for people who are in part or full time collage or higher!
Hey man just asking is there any update? I heard they was a massive backlash but now im hearing they profit out of it. Is it true?
not 100% sure, i havent been following up on this but could be possible
When they start this I will not be using Netflix going forward when this start up. my children use Netflix and they live in different homes so I share all my accounts with them so as soon as Netflix ask me to pay more money and start this program up I will be deleting Netflix forever
i could see many others do the same!

It's mostly garbage programming now days.....just cancel and put them out of business.
yeah i have to agree i havent found many interesting shows on netflix lately
I agree Netflix got too raunchy for my taste, so I don't need this crap.
It all depends on your taste, and how many good options you have if you want to watch anything that you would consider good?
I’m glad they won’t put people in jail for it and just pay extra for password sharing since everybody does it.
if they jailed people for it half the population would be locked up 😂
@@JeremysTutorials If they don’t want people to password share they should at least just shut down password sharing instead of catching people.
do you rember blockbuster well netflix will drop subs soo fast thay will be fased out like video tape.
😂😂 haha yep we shall see what happens next
So what happens if you sign into your mates account the one who pay for it you can just do that I guess?
i believe they will track your device and location so if you dont sign in to your mates account on the same device as them, it'll count you as a new device. correct me if im wrong tho
Hi there i was watching Netflix on my granddaughters account i watch Amazon prime as well i have a smart TV and fire stick as well which i have some third party apps which I can get some new movies if I want but Netflix i went to watch it today and i got the message saying I can't use it now the thing is i don't watch a lot of Netflix anyway so would i sign up for it i don't think so we had sky tv for years but my partner died over a year ago so i cancelled it because I was not watching mutch and we were paying nearly 100 a month but it was my partner would not cancel it i have wifi and i disagree with the money they want for all the programmes when you think about it if you had them all how much you would be paying they should come up with one payment for all the package and not a draft price you think they are wanting nearly 10 pounds a show and you might have a half of dozen and the sky is a fortune it's just a lot of money for all the programs and you can only watch one at a time
This is crazy? What if I’m on a plane or hotel and wanna watch my Netflix? Bs
It’s 7.99 per user here in Canada 😂
oh wow... that's ridiculous lol
After telling us it would only be $3
@@loribennett1015 yep
Netflix has gone full cable.
unfortunate :(

Poorly done subtitles there. "Do" when you clearly said "Dude" 🤣🤣

It is easy to get around.
well hopefully they dont patch it 👌
VPN
Network !
They are actually technically tracking WiFi network.
People ..calm the fk down ..they are cracking down on people sharing passwords with friend etc outside of you house. You will still be able to roam as long as you main access is done from your home. AND.. they are all going to doing this
