It's part of the Brechtian film style, breaking through the artifice and including quirks and inaccuracies makes Adam more endearing and watchable in the long run

I for one, as a Tested viewer, do not hate that sounds. I also think quite often about building my own rig like that. Idk what I’d use it for but it’s a dang useful thing
It's been my experience that the kind of person to publicly complain about something as innocuous as that occasional squeaking sound, they'll just as soon complain about something else if the offending noise is eliminated. It's not that the sound really bothered them all that much, they just really like to complain. So save your energy and stop trying to appease the unappeasable.
Yknow I come to notice the sheer confidence, if not slight aggresive body language Adam has with his tools. How he slaps his phone into the rig in one swift move, was almost straight up choreographed. The guy really knows his stuff.
He used to have even more of that aggressiveness when he was younger, back in early Mythbusters. I think his confidence in his older age has balanced it out better.
But that mount makes me feel like I'm trapped in his workshop and when he grabs to move the camera its like he's grabbing me to forcibly look at his project.
I love squeaks, clicks, ticks, and tams in videos. I make a lot of sound effects when things are too mundane, so I enjoy the "weird noises" you hear in stuff like this. Ringing, and other high-pitched sounds, hurts, however, so those I don't like.
Oh man this fills me with a crazy feeling. I remember being a kid and watching tons of mythbusters for hours. It's so strange seeing Adam again, and so much older now. We're all older now; guess our brains just don't like seeing reminders of it. Love Adam

there are quiet loong goose neck phone holders on Amazon that from my experience are sturdier and quieter only the clamps on each end might need a upgrade
i used a few solder wires twisted together to temporary do something like that but it wouldn't last very long if i adjusted it to much it worked for the week i needed it though and didn't squeak
God I love this combo. Two worlds collide...
R2-D2 just casually chilling in the background.
I was locked in with the head from The Thing hanging from the ceiling
“You haven’t made something in here that doesn’t squeak?”
-R2 shuffles deeper into the corner silently

It wobbles and it even fell down at the end. Functionally perfect? No, more like functionally good enough.

I love the squeak, adds character
It's a part of the Workshop vibes Tested as always strived for.
i personally love it. its genuinely him.
I for one, as a Tested viewer, do not hate that sounds. I also think quite often about building my own rig like that. Idk what I’d use it for but it’s a dang useful thing
I love the noise!
I really like those sounds. Like a comfy old chair.
I think it adds character to the videos. Reminds me of Casey neistats vlogs. Just homemade and quick.
The sound is part of the brand now
I love Adam so much
truly one of my heroes

Editor needs to stop thinking about comparisons. Adam is successful because he is who he is.
I like the sound. It adds to the Savage esthetic.
I actually like the sound it keep the show humbled and not over produced
I love that sound
You mean that it's NOT your knees, Adam?!? 😭
This is his iconic sound I love it
That sound is the official sound of Tested
Tbh, the sound doesn’t bother me at all
*doesn’t waste $2000 on camera mount*
“That’s some janky stuff Adam”
yeah well he made it so probably not
Dude slaps that thing around like a color guard slaps a rifle😂
But that mount makes me feel like I'm trapped in his workshop and when he grabs to move the camera its like he's grabbing me to forcibly look at his project.
I love the actual realness of TESTED!
R2-D2 casually hanging out in the background.
I love that sound lol
It was you, Adam! You bought Norris' head from The Thing on that prop auction site. That's cool. It has a good home.
I like that sound :/
adam is a national treasure
I've set up my microphone with that tubing, my phone stand, and even my stitching pony!! Got the idea from watching the led lamp build!!! I love it!!!
Adam. I am certain that marine cameramen have fixed this problem.

Your job is to make sound ? Like the guy who do the horse tap sound the snow sound or the breaking bone sound by munching a lettuce ?
I was just thinking about this the other day when I was trying to film some work i was doing on a lathe. (How the hell does Adam do it) know I know.
Don’t listen to the haters Adam. It’s a pleasant sound. And I’m sure it reminds you that something wonderful and creative is in the making.
Locline is awesome.

Im surprised he hasnt...ya know... built his own light that isnt annoying...
Adam has always reminded me of my buddy’s dad. Love this guy
That's not going to work for me 😂😅
I LOVE that sound!
Such a beautiful, elegant, simple GLORIOUSLY SQUEAKY DEVICE
I, for one, love the squeaky camera rig lmao
I’d use that for stuff, too if it was a bit more affordable (I’m broke).
I love that sound, its so DIY
I absolutely love that sound It's so crunchy and good.
but I'm also the kind of person who loves the sound of pens clicking...
There he is, the man that raised a generation to love explosions
He set-up a "camera tripod" quicker than anything I have ever seen. I want one.
Its brilliant. Whenever he drops or moves the camera and everything goes all wobbily I just hear Adam Laughing his ass off.
I love the sound. Mayne because I love using Loc-line
That's the sound of quality... entertainment.
Ahh the usefulness of flex coolant lines
That’s the best sound in the world, the day we never hear it again people will remember
See I love that sound, its the sound of fantastic old man joint and start to a great video 😆
Those gorilla holders are great but oh boy they're fun to clean if you get oil on them
i love it. it really shows how adam savage is really adam savage
Im a tested viewer and I love it! It’s like he is The Martian.
You had me at 3/4" lock line. It's on my shopping list lol
Hahah i love how Adam knows we hate the sound having never once complained about said sound.
He's called Adam Savage for a reason 😂
I have an intimate love/hate relationship with that sound. You won't hear me complain if Adam finds a better way to hold his phone.
I love that sound 😂
Pretty sure they use that Loc-Line stuff on the ISS. Great for Zero G.
“Terrible Squeaking” is right!
I love this sound so much.
The sound is actually really pleasing. Idk why I don't hate it
People complain about that sound but not the grinders and saws and welders? Crazy stuff
I love the sound tho 😂
I hate the sound but I love the Adam so it's fine
I LOVE THE SOUNDS
Loc line used this way is genius ive only ever seen it for coolant lines.
He looks great with grey hair!
It's a lovely noise, not sure why people complain
The wobble on my own janky mobile tripods are fun, discovering that samsung has a verbal command in the app "capture" was real useful for light painting
Why is it that anytime he interacts with something, it looks like activision made the animation for it
i literally never noticed this until just now lmao yall are hard to please
Super jealous of the Spider Head from The Thing, such a great setup hung from the ceiling like that
Im a machinst i like that sound
"Problem solved" ❤
I like the sound of Adams filming rig tho
WDYM I LOVE THAT SOUND?!

Crinkle crinkle I like it.
So, basically it's a human's spine, right?😅
if your spine squeaks like that you should go to a doctor
Its because some of us watch on headphones. Tested audio is brutal on headphones
wait until adam finds out about the noga big boy base
…. I actually like that sound 😅
Whrre can i get one? Also can i add more modules to make it longer? I want a 10 foot long one.
Ill accept it from adam lol
Anyone can make something that works. The mark of a true engineer is making something that barely works.
is there a parts list to make one of Jamie's camera rigs?
I have gave a crap about the squeek people have nothing else to worry about like
I feel like rubber 0 rings on each section would limit the squeeking and increase the stability
I personally don't mind the noise, except when it's picked up too well and you *only* hear that sound ever everything else.
I never minded it at all.
My dad bought a tripod similar to that thing when he first got into photography, think it was called a joby lol
Curious if something like graphite lubricant would work.
