Great conclusion to a great restoration.essentially made a unusable pile of parts to a functioning piece of working motor.you put a lot of work into this project.kudos to you.just keep doing what your doing and on to the next project.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Great video and good job on the restoration! I would like to ask that you share what your tools are and where they were sourced, e.g. the parts washer and sandblasting booth were from Adendorff as well as your techniques for plating, powder coating and sandblasting. For example what grit you used for sandblasting. Also where did you get the spare parts from and indicate that you made the gaskets yourself

What size engine was that? Sounded awesome at the end. Be great on a go-cart!! Too bad about your manifold melting - I don't imagine that would be easily sourced.
175cc 6.5HP motor, yes they do make great gocart engines. I will be casting or making my own manifold for it in the near future. They are really hard to get, that's why I tried 3D printing one.
that 3D Printing was a foolish Idea : you can 3D print in plastic and use that as a molding die for Metal casting or make a new part in CNC that works better .
Like everyone does metal casting and has a CNC. I would say the 3d print turned out great. Yes it wont last long, but it was enough to test the engine.
Colors are garish, and period incorrect. The mechanical restoration was nice but without the decals and those garish color substitutions I would call it a “restomod” at best, hardly a restoration.
Restoration is a really broad term. I chose those colors because its what I wanted. I almost always customize my restorations. If I mentioned that I restored this to original, then yes this would not be a restoration.
In my opinion, all your restoration videos are exceptionally good but this one, you knocked it out of the park. Beautiful results!
Thank you very much buddy!
The best resto I've seen for a long time. Love your powder coating and electro plating.
Thank you so much! This one turned out great.
Great restoration and craftsmanship, she purrs beautifully.
Literally looks (and runs) out of the box new!
I was really happy to see it run that good!
I love your humor, and the work you do

Thank you, it was a lot of work I have to admit.
Amazing little engine I've never seen one like it or heard the name but then again I'm from America
That paint looked so good on that shroud to be sand blasted should have gone with a vintage look
I wanted it orange haha
@@AJRestoration I do agree with the paint change on that though, Orange is one of my favorite colors

Depending on what parts you need. They send to your address via courier.

did you really use the inertia of the flywheel to keep it in place while you were hammering on the bolt?
Correct.
@@AJRestoration wouldn't have thought that would've worked that well...
Very professional work! Does the engine run on gas-oil mixture?
Correct, its a mixture of 2 stroke oil and gasoline.
Where the arrow mark on the piston pointed at ?
I see the paint you used for this project, do I need to add a clear coat for protection?
It's not needed but it could give it an extra bit of shine. Powdercoating is quite durable.

Either the fuel wasn't mixed correctly or not at all.
Probably yes.
Robin/Subaru made very good quality small engines. I think they have completely stopped production in the past few years.
So did upu ever figure out the purpose of cutting those mounting points off and welding them in a different spot was?
They tried to modify the engine to operate in a horizontal orientation.
