My guess: it’s not the 5th old god. But rather, the First old god. It was somehow sundered. And the 4 others were once its constituent pieces. Now they are being recombined by their harbinger’s thralls. Back into the original, now 5th old god.
@@xxxxx6622 is that a plot point in that game? I’ve yet to play it. In spite of my friend’s pestering to do so. Also, isn’t Venat the secondary antagonist in FF12?
The fifth old god has been mentioned since Warcraft 3. If you read the game book, it mentions five old gods. The same old god in the mural is shown in Chronicle Book 3, the image with the hammer. It has C’Thun in the center and Yogg-Saron, Y’Shaarj, and N’Zoth in the borders. This same face in the mural is shown in the top right corner, hiding within roots. Regarding the quest text of the mysterious fish: all of the items for the trade shop in July also had flavor text that matches the verbiage of this fish. Additionally, the Dreadwake mount’s flavor text references this old god. I bet the Rootlands has a large body of water within it. Next, while Hearthstone is not canon, the card called “The Ancient One” is an old god whose face matches the mural and Chronicle Book 3. The only way to get this card is by combining “The Blood of the Ancient One,” which we can see the Nerubians are doing with Xal’atath’s help. Locust Walker knows Xal’atath. She has been to K’aresh and has been around much longer than we realize, but she is a Harbinger, not an old god. She ushers in the bad times but does not soil her hands with such matters. The Beledar is a false light. We know it by this name because of the Arathi. I believe the Beledar is a gate or a portal. It’s how we will travel to K’aresh at the end of the expansion for a raid. When we fail on K’aresh, the void and the void lords will follow us back and invade Azeroth, leading into Midnight. To add more light on this, look no further than the most recent Narubian trailer. The flashes of Ny’alotha are in the same brilliant sheen as the Beledar In its light phase! The “Beledar” is old god tech! I know a lot of people don’t care for the Lovecraft comparison when it comes to old gods, but that’s their inspiration. The titans only dealt with four old gods. This fifth old god hid within the roots when Aman’Thul ripped the world tree out of Azeroth. This fifth old god is inspired by Cthylla, also known as The Kraken or The Secret One. She is the only feminine old god, and it’s her voice we have been hearing, not Azeroth’s, ever since Magni was made a pawn in BFA. Lastly, the mural’s depiction of the “Beledar” is a void crystal in the center wrapped in gold. The gold forms a star-like shape. Comparing it with Lovecraft’s work, it’s similar to the Star of Azathoth. Azathoth is the creator of Cthulhu, so in WoW terms, a void lord. It’s also interesting that in Lovecraft’s work, when Azathoth is near, you hear soft flutes playing, like a song. In WoW’s case, it could be a radiant song.
I think you actually predicted the expansion (and parts of midnight). This is one of the best prediction/speculation I have ever red for wow and it absolutely needs more attention!
MY TIN FOIL HAT THEORY: The blade that Xal'atath was confined in was made from the claw of Y'shaarj. Garrosh's corrupted axe was called Xal'atoh. Obviously Garrosh is synonymous with Y'shaarj at this point. Nerubians are synonymous with Yogg'Saron. (Aqir evolved dependant on which old god they settled near, and Nerubians settled in Northrend, near Yogg, Qiraji near C'thun and so on) Plenty of eyes like C'thun. Tentacles like N'zoth. "Blood of the old GODS" not "GOD" (plural) Xal'atath is Y'shaarj using a void elves body and the "5th old god" is a combination of all the old gods, that's why the beast at 4:41 in this video looks like a mixture of the old gods. Calling it now!
This could really make sense, Xal'atath being sent by the Void Lords to perhaps keep a watch over the Void Gods, for whatever reason that might be. But they ganged up on her, knowing the potential she had, to usurp them, reason for putting her into a "prison" in being the blade. So what better way to take the Old Gods place, than making a monstrosity by combining all those that betrayed her, to use as a mindless tool, or as her own special vessel
tentical reminds me of the monster that took out the stock boy in the film The Mist, just when you think his guna make it, the tentical splits up the middle into teeth like spines opening to grab and pull him out side.

Looks like that tentacle might be remaining part of that Old Gold thing on the mural. Maybe what Xalatath used to be? And they try to bring her original form back? That would be cool.
Has anyone else noticed that in the finale n'zoth cinematic, the exploding buildings send out blue/purple orbs, that look very similar to Xalataths orbs?
So since zalatath is basically a void lord or servant of one she prolly stitching together all the old god powers and bodies so her or her masters who have a hard time entering azeroth can use the body to rain in destruction like never before and prolly corrupt the world soul
I've always had a theory that the sword sticking out of Silithus is made from Y'Shaarj body, but the color of the old god blood really drives it home for me.
Y'Shaarj was never imprisoned. It was ripped from Azeroth. If the Titans imprisoned 4 Old Gods, that means that they imprisoned this mysterious 5th Old God.
Depends on if you count the vaults created by the Titans to house Y'Shaarj's heart as imprisonment. That is the implications of Chronicle, but that is filthy Titan propaganda anyway.
It looks more like they are milking the dead old god for its blood. she tugs a container, which can be seen hanging in the first shot of it, then pours a drop of dark liquid, likely old god blood.
Didnt the old gods fight against each other heavily? Maybe one was destroyed by its brethren shortly after arriving and killed - i mean Xal said that in the end only one would remain, as its the natural cause. Xal might be that old gods "mind" or extension. N'Zoth knew Xal as they both talked quite lax with each other.
Could it be that when the Old God arrived on Azeroth as just one entity? Something must have happened and it split into 5 different Gods. if you think about it, the old Gods as we knew them could be the children of the first flash. if you think about what Xal'atath is doing, it is not far fetch. After all, she has gathered every single one of the old God's essence and is doing something with it. It is my opinion that when K'aresh fell the Old God and Xal'atath were sent to Azeroth.
Maybe that is the original Y'Shaarj body, before he was ripped and when Xal'atath was part of it, the claw of Y'Shaarj. But now, she will control the body...
no dude, the tentacle is actually a claw and they are using it as an artifact and what they are creating is the new narubians with two lags and a scarier face
it could mean that it is possibly ysharjj, though ysharjj's essence was absorbed during the garrosh fight but the heart still exists but not beating, my theory is when the titans ripped ysharjj out his corruption probably sunk into the roots of the world tree that titans also ripped out, with the galakrond's essence being able to bring things from death combining it with ysharjj's heart and all the blood of the old god could resurrect ysharjj but with the power of the other old gods
with how the old gods are meant to be extremely big, it is possible that ysharjj wasn't fully ripped out and only ripped in half, with how the heart of the old god left behind it is possible that ysharjj couldn't fully regain its powers and used its influence on garrosh, with the power of galakrond it may be used to give the regenetive powers needed to reform him and combine him with the essence of the other old gods, with the new zones falling under where the map of the old gods influence showing in ysharjj's sector it is possible
It wasn't completely ripped out of the planet, only partially. When Aman'Thul killed Y'Shaarj, he attempted to rip the corpse out of Azeroth but it caused great damage to the surrounding planet so he stopped. He instead buried the corpse since it could not be safely removed. That area later became Pandaria, and the corpse of Y'Shaarj is what caused Shaohao's emotions to manifest as the Sha. Afterwards, the titans decided it was too dangerous to kill the Old Gods because of what happened with Y'Shaarj, and they instead opted to imprison them. So that's 1 dead, 3 imprisoned. The 5th one is still unaccounted for. G'huun in BFA wasn't an Old God, it was a Titan experiment.
The egg resembles the egg that was in the Heart of Fear Raid where the empress powered up in using Old God powers (Sha). If the Titans proved anything within the Uldir Raid: building/creating an Old God using existing Old God "data" is actually possible. If G'Huun factually counts as an Old God, that would mean that Azeroth has 6 Old Gods (unless G'Huun IS the fifth one they speak of in the books, but doubtful). IF they're actually building an Old God there, then it might be the 7th Old God on Azeroth. I personally think Xal'Atath is based on Nyarlathotep as it's the one who took the forms of different beings (including human forms) and was known as the "crawling chaos", which seems to be her kind of thing as well. Nyarlathotep took a tentacle form as well at some point, which might be a hint that Xal will do the same. Blizzard has stated before that Xal'Atath isn't an Old God, but we still don't really know what an Old God actually is. We only know that the Titans called them parasites. Blizzard never said anything about Xal'Atath ascending to godhood and becoming an Old God herself though (is it still "Old" God if she's new?)
I really don't see the ''stitching it up'' imagery. there's one hook that looks to be holding it up so they can gather the blood drops(?). Also the ''stitching'' running down the middle of it is the same kind of ''maw'' looking teeth that are present in BFA with Nzoth, specifically the 2-boss mini raid. It's just old god anatomy, not stitching. Finally, the other hanging chains/ropes are just the incense chalices. Also, it looking ''exactly'' like the dagger, I don't see it. yeah it's curved cause it's a tentacle that's been propped up with a hook, but identical to the dagger? Not in my opinion.
I noticed that the jewels on the nerubian's head from the cinematic has crystals similar to that of the mural. Also what makes you assume that they are stitching the tentacle together? To me it seems more like they are extracting the blood from it.
