I feel like the old god blood is why the Titans could not kill the Old gods and chose to trap them instead. Blood desecrates the land. This is why Y'Shaarj's heart was taken out... to stop the core of the blood from reaching the world... but we know how that turned out. Now there is blood everywhere... we have killed a bunch of old gods, and their blood has seeped into the land. We did exactly what the old Gods wanted... we killed them. This could be why the Old Gods are always against each other, and why they were seemingly not even on the side of the Void... they were meant to be sacrificed to corrupt Azeroth. They would either corrupt the Reorigination of the world insuring they would continue, or die on and corrupt the world soul. Only keeping them trapped long enough for Azeroth to be "born" non-corrupted would have worked, and we did exactly what the Old Gods wanted, we killed them before Azeroth could wake up.
That doesnt look like a sword @00:45 stuck in the old god. It looks like a naaru core, like the thing that fell near broken shore when xe'ra arrived and we had to take the shard back to the rest of its body to wake it up, remember?
I think when Xalatath says “this power, MY power” I think she’s less saying it’s something that originates from her but more something that she has taken control over and is using to new purposes. Similar to the Dark Heart itself or her theft of the majority of Dalaran. She didn’t make the Dark Heart or Galakrond (at least not directly, for all we know she definitely had a hand in at least one if not both) but the dark heart is still very much “hers.” I think the black blood & old gods’ power are the same way.
I dont think zalatath is inhabiting any kind of body. She doesnt seem to need to. I mean, if she can perfectly disguise herself as archmage Dresden and go u noticed, than why not some random void elf. I think what we are seeing in zalataths form is similar to the dragons where they can choose a manifestation to take form in. I think zalataths form is intentional and that she is giving alleria a show of what she could become.
She is inhabiting a body of a void elf. She was stuck in the blade of the black empire, and we helped her get her current physical appearance during a quest line in BFA 🤔
"The doom of worlds wakes once more!" The Ancient One was an extremely powerful servant of the Old Gods that was vanquished long ago. It was the Old Gods' greatest creation[2] and served as one of their many generals.[1] Even long after its death, portions of the Ancient One's blood remains, and if enough of the fluid is brought back together, the being can be brought back to life.[2]
If we are going full aluminum foil hat theorist, the "new" old god is actually a spawn of the old gods that is to evolve into an old god slowly Soo It don't gather to much attention from the titan forge. It would match with the story Soo far and no need for retcons. Also the nerubians could have killed it because it needed sacrifice for it's evolution and they went rouge.
Pretty sure the Lab and the rest, are located in Ara-Kara the old city beneath Azj'Kahet. Remember that the nerubians built the new one on top of the Old ruins. They're are also new encrypted story quests that supposed to come with 11.0.5 according to roadmap that we haven't seen yet.
Xal seems to be meant to have been placed in the blade. It fit into the old gods plans. The old gods that can see many paths. They saw a path where they succeed but only with xal in the blade to later influence us the player. (Nzoth saw us when we time travel to the black empire and knows us) Xal influenced us to bring the storm artifact to him then ensured he kept the blade all not possible if she wasn’t in the blade.
that Devourer concept art looks like the place where the Widow is at the weavers lair, with how early in development these drawings are usually made at, it could be a scrapped/ repurposed idea
I was the one that posted those images and the link to all that artwork and the Old God tentacle (N'zoth) screenshot of the Shadows Within cinematic on MMO-Champion! Nice to see the feelings and thoughts I had being expanded on and what other theoricrafters think about it! (Theorising is fun and this expansion has been so juicy for it! I'm always on the hunt for secrets and links. Both in game and outside.) EDIT: I have two other theories and info I haven't seen anyone speak about and it'd be interesting to see what people think! Do you check Instagram or Email more? :)
8:44 "Great Devourer" reminds me of the Overmind from StarCraft. It would form a cocoon upon dying and the only to kill it was Void Energies. Perhaps they're doing the same thing with this "Old God" or Void creature or whatever this is. I can definitely see parallels with the Overmind here (hive mind controlling/corrupting creatures and assimilating them, directing an insectoid race, and cannot be killed except by void energies), and we all know Blizzard really loves to reuse the same ideas between Diablo, StarCraft and WarCraft. I mean, we have the whole concept of a corrupted/mutated hero who turns into a villain that seeks revenge (Arthas, Kerrigan), The prophet who does something wrong and redeeems himself by sacrificing himself to save everyone (Zeratul, Deckard Cain, Medivh), the antihero who is seemingly using dark energies and turns around, becoming a hero-ish figure (Illidan, SC2 Kerrigan), and so on.
I think what is being set up with Azeroth being The Prime, we already know the titans and the void both want Azeroth to shape it to their own designs, and we saw (extremely briefly) that the jailer also wanted to use Azeroth’s world soul to power the forge of origination or whatever, i wonder if the other major forces that we saw of the cosmology of the Warcraft universe in shadowlands & its expanded lore are going to wind up in a sort of 6-way custody battle over Azeroth with the void lords and old gods and the titans
I think all of those body parts are from the original Old God or Xal'atath herself! Xal'atath isn't an Old God, but I think she is an Ancient One from the primordial Universe!
Thinking of mythos from Cthulu which is what they are based on she would essentially be the 3rd highest ranking person whose job is to go to planets to prep them for her master. Since this is wow and they change things I wonder if she is more of an avatar for a void lord.
Is anyone else getting some really strong HR Giger vibes from that artwork, mixed with HP Lovecraft. I'd love to see that place becoming a raid some day but I'm afraid that we'd just get G'Huun 2.0 situation so my best guess is that Blizz aren't going to make it into a raid
It doesnt look like a brain to me, but maybe something contained in webs, or an egg sac. Perhaps a really big improtant type of nerubian egg, that was going to hatch a really powerful entity, so it was stabbed by something. Maybe its such a powerful thing it survives being stabbed, in a hibernating state.
Misconception here, Xalataths True form is Not some Fleshy abomination. Her True form is Pure Energy. She said it herself that she needs a vessel to interact with material world in BFA. something along the lines "It has been so long I took physical Form" My theory On her Is that She was Once a powerfull void user(alleria) that somehow Found a way to transcend Physical Body- Which allows her To time travel Etc as she is likely Higher dimensional being now.- 4D atleast. Also I know Im correct on This Void ascension as it is mentioned multiple times ingame, That one can harness power of void to transcend/ascend, Alleria is essentialy Going towards same path and here is crazy Schizo theory- Alleria and Xalatath are same being, Think of time as irrelevant construct and remove linear Thinking and it all makes sense. Essentialy Xalatath is guiding Alleria To take the path of ascension. And then Time Becomes irrelevant, Non linear so Essentaly She pop 10k years ago on azeroth somehow Gets imprisoned in the dagger. But is Free at The same "time" as When you are 4D being Time is irrelevant you are not bound by it, Every single page of the book is open. I know this is hard to understand, we are humans And such Thinking In nonlinear way Is almost impossible due to us being stuck in 3D but try to visualize it and it will make sense.
Keep in mind... every single time any content creator has come up with speculative lore regarding WOW it is far better/more detailed/more logical/more mature than what it actually is, more than likely, its just visual aesthetics and nothing more
Wouldn’t it be funny if the old god was active till Sargaras plunged the sword directly into Azeroth and into his head. Xalatath in the corner (dagger):“f*ck, guess I got work now” Edit: thinking about it more. Didn’t someone mention that Azeroth was a prison and its denizens are the wardens? In addition wasn’t sargeras just trying to amass an huge army because he saw a bigger threat? Maybe my joke isn’t a joke xD
Also that doesn’t look like a sword at all..I see no hilt it looks like a smaller version of beledar crystal but flat. And how does web coming out of a spider look like devouring? Web is to secure or trap things not to consume. It’s legit showing it being suspended and the star shapes surrounding it look like what’s in the top NOT A SWORD
Could it be the old God like thing we as players go kill in twilight highlands that you descend into it and attack its brain? I could remember it wrong but that's the only brain I can think of that one comes straight down on... so maybe something put the sword in it?
We were told recently that there may be more crystals like beladar buried on azeroth. Maybe sargaras' sword actually struck one of them, and if this crystal was filled with void energy(old God blood it had absorbed) this could be what sargares was aiming to do. No reason to hit beladar, it had not been corrupted... yet.
Xalatath. I think she was sent to insure the old gods worked together and complete their goal. So they imprisoned her in the dagger and started fighting each other for power.
So do they blend em, squash em, dice em, juice em, snort em, smoke em, lick em, or milk em? Sorry just had that rhyme for years if the devs ever tried another new way to inject liquid magic or better known as copium.
i realy think that the blood is not realy blood from bleeding. i think its more like a spore. they push themselfs out of prison bit by bit to corupt everything.
Thank you for video, I'm so hyped for this expansion, locations, and this laboratory in particular. Really feels like Blizzard feeds us with concetnrated BfA vibes

You know her plan not going to look because going to backfired
Hi reality evos like the old gods

Yes she's inhabiting the corpse of a dead void-elf.
My guess is that someone will use the blackblood at the sunwell
I don't think they will change xalataths body anytime soon because feet make money
I was tinking the saem.
Sorry for grammr, I have xal feet vids on the oter monitor and typing with 1 hnd.
Azshara begs to differ but I concur 😆
Tentacles do to.
Next time in the shop - Xalatath Feet TMOG for 99,99$ 🤣🤣
"The doom of worlds wakes once more!"

anyone else got the feeling we should have tossed the damn dagger, years ago in Legion, into the next volcano the moment it began to whisper it's 💩
But then we wouldn't have Xalfeets
Be nice to our knifu

Whatever she's making better have one big 👁 and the most interesting old god voice yet
They can consume power or knowledge with the brain, that can be her old body and xalathat is attempting to restore it
this give me the feeling that there was a 5th only the narubians got tired of the sacrafices over threw it dismembered it to contain it.
I think she wants to absorb all the old gods powers to become an ultimate being.
Because this power can't be controlled the will of void aka nothing controlled them
8:44 "Great Devourer" reminds me of the Overmind from StarCraft. It would form a cocoon upon dying and the only to kill it was Void Energies. So, we have again a G'Huun situation. Blood was extremely crimson, just like the liquid produced by the Mogu.
I think theres one more old god who was harpooned in the head near the Night elf and Draenai areas. Might be near Felwood . Thought it might help
Maybe infusing infusing the sword with black blood and digested old god parts to stab the heart of Azeroth with?
I think all of those body parts are from the original Old God or Xal'atath herself! Xal'atath isn't an Old God, but I think she is an Ancient One from the primordial Universe!

I made a joke at one point that they would do an old god boss rush in a future raid...that is starting to look more likely now
It doesnt look like a brain to me, but maybe something contained in webs, or an egg sac. The sword might just be a probe or a fixture that holds the old god in place.
She isnt making a new body like the old gods....she planning on taking over azeroth's body.
That sword looks like a burning legion weapon
Keep in mind... every single time any content creator has come up with speculative lore regarding WOW it is far better/more detailed/more logical/more mature than what it actually is, more than likely, its just visual aesthetics and nothing more
Wasn't there an old god in darkshore before that was stabbed in the head by a gigantic sword?

I think Archaedas referred to Chunks of Azerit, not to Beladar. It still might be something else.
Xalatath. I think she was sent to insure the old gods worked together and complete their goal. So they imprisoned her in the dagger and started fighting each other for power.
She was a fifth old god that got defeated and consumed by the others.
So do they blend em, squash em, dice em, juice em, snort em, smoke em, lick em, or milk em? Sorry just had that rhyme for years if the devs ever tried another new way to inject liquid magic or better known as copium.
Everything old is new again.
i realy think that the blood is not realy blood from bleeding. i think its more like a spore. they push themselfs out of prison bit by bit to corupt everything.
I don't think thats a sword, that looks like a nascent Naaru like we saw in Legion.
It's Xalataht's body
Yeah, seens like shes powering up her own lost body.
what if that old god with sword in it is xalataths old god form befor was trapped in sword
Could Xal'atath be the original void lord that made the old gods?
She is no void lord do your research.
No she couldn’t. Play the game
Thank you for video, I'm so hyped for this expansion, locations, and this laboratory in particular.
Really feels like Blizzard feeds us with concetnrated BfA vibes
Are you a fly? Otherwise, how could you possibly be hyped about a nasty pile of shit that is TWiW?
@@txdmsk What is your issue with TWW
Xal'atath is one of the worst "villains" they have tried introducing in this game yet.
I disagree
Xalatath laboritory raid pleaaaaaseeee
Be cool if it was the remains of the old god that Arthas killed in TFT.
He killed a Forgotten One, which is an Old God servant like a Faceless One, wish we got more from the race
The Fifth Old God *was* Xal'atath. But she gained unnatural freedom by being put into a Dagger and then turned into a Void Elf.
First
FIRST!
Yess, I beat you.
