Get over yourself! No one will ever do it better than Patti but the Rifles rule and I think they did a dam good job of covering an awesome song. Damien is the king.
Great yeah but Radio Birdman, The Saints and my fav wah wah paddle band 😂 The Cosmic Psychos tattooed on my calf 'nice day go to the pub' RnR 🍻💊🍻 greetings from Motorcity Stuttgart Germany
Hi st65ar. This was a program called Blah Blah Blah hosted by Andrew Denton. For me this performance was life altering, being a headbanger I hated 80's popular music & thought metal was all there was. This turned me onto alternative & was the precursor to grunge. I saw some great music live, all because of this performance.
@@Scotty-P I agree Scotty for me old punk 62 Grunge was a nightmare 'music the world don't need' the rifles are a proper band like many more from Australia The Saints (live at the Roxy Club 77 give it a try) Radio Birdman and fav Cosmic Psychos booked them early 90s and we spent the night at Red Light District in Amsterdam don't remember much of anything 🍻💊🍻
I saw them in Denmark at the Roskilde festival and they blew my mind. What a band and they finished the set with a sex pistol cover if I remember correctly. Fuck life was great back then!
What year was it? CR are one of the best Aussie Bands ever got Cosmic Psychos tattooed on my calf and spent one night with them at the red light district in Amsterdam end 80s and still suffering that I never saw The Saints and Radio Birdman live - been to 3000 gigs or more but never made it til now me 61 🍻💊🍻
You're right, Mickey! I like that song by The Urges, "I Gotta Wait"! It's kicking! Love that psychedelic sound, going on with them! Has that 60's flavor going on! Nice!
Hi bma109! Thanks for telling me this, because I am a big fan of the Goo Goo Dolls, also! I'm going to check their version of "Million Miles Away" out. Keep Rocking! :-)
Yeah! I really like The Plimsouls! They're rocking that song, "A Million Miles Away"! Has any other artist done that song? Seems like I've heard it done before, by another group. Just wondering.
@Larsbolander Point is that you need a huge garage if you want to let in everyone who wants to come and enjoy what you're doing there. Suppose that's how clubs started :-)
Such a great band. How I miss those days. RIP Damo.
Yep me too the best years of my life RnR 🍻💊🍻
Get over yourself!

RIP Damo. Best OZ rock band EVER!

@@dalakerdaniel9240 all great bands!
Of course they're 80's brilliant, but it's amazing how '90's' The Celibate Rifles are!
What? More 70s, nothing 90s about them
@@gloryglory5688 It's about how common this was made, in the 90's and 'til now.
RIP Damien Lovelock
GO BOYS!!!!

No. No. "Grunge" was made up to copy 80's 'Alternative'.

Never saw an ordinary show from them, and I saw them a dozen times.
We miss you Damien. True Oz legend.
Can remember watching broadcat uni days...some abc show...this band will always have a place
The Celibate Rifles Rock!!
Such killer guitar work!! Whew!
siempre con mi buena musica !!!
This is king tone. This is a great cover of Patti Smith's tune. Oz has the right clicks, baby. Dig The Urges ("I Gotta Wait").

Kind of like an Oz amalgam of The Plimsouls and The Urges. This is bruisin'!

What show was this played on in 98? Recovery? A nice 60's surf/ psycha' take on that 70's moody classic by Patti.
"Million Miles Away" was covered by New York power pop band the Goo Goo Dolls.
que buena
dio buono.
how start out red hot, and go to blinding white
I wouldn’t say that, but I think it’s just as good. They definitely approach it differently. This psych- garagey container works nice,y
