Toombul closing down just read it today (Sat 21-May-22) - Mirvac says too expensive to repair damage and w/ the possibility of future floods. I grew up Southside (70s/80/90s) but still remember my mum and dad making the drive to come here in the 80s. It was iconic back in the day. Nature is so powerful. The Toombul shop / business owners must be devastated - the Deli owner said he has been months without income.....probably waiting for insurance claim to process?....how do you pick yourself up as a business owner who has invested everything (heart, money and soul)? And this is on top of the scamdemic lockdowns....they called the 1970 flood a once-in-a-century event.....looks like it once in a decade now.
The mall was a bit of an EV charge hub too with 3 fast chargers (2 ultra fast) on the roof, AC chargers inside and the recently opened Tesla Supercharger. Hope they can re-open soon. I feel sorry for all the smaller shops first struggeling through Covid and now this.
That night, I was coming home from my dads house and we saw the flood all the way up to the parking roof and water was leaking on to the pathway.
Really that time how's your dad house?
Well I meant toomble was flooding
