Let's make America Pray Again
The concept of prayer is quite literally insane if you also believe in a God that knows everything. He knows in advance that you are going to pray, and of course he knows how he is going to answer it! Do they actually think that God will change his behaviour as result of mumbling a few words?
If god is willing to cure someone of cancer just because some hack prays for them, and yet lets millions of other people die in horrible pain from such diseases, doesn't that make him something of a huge j@rk?

Watches impassively while the man grunts in pleasure, and does nothing.
Your god is not only useless but a huge jerk.
The fact that he does nothing means either:

Your god is powerless to intervene to save the little girl, or
You god simply does not exist.

If only people would wake up, quit depending on their emotions to guide them, and walk in the fear of the Lord and in Holy Ghost boldness!

Wonderful! I've loved and appreciated Pastor MacArthur for years! He's hands down my favorite pastor! He nailed it. Making this an argument about race is chasing our tails. As I heard one black man recently say, "It's not a skin issue, it's a sin issue." Transformation happens at the heart left. 💗✝️

Thank you for your program, Mr. Elder. You said you haven't heard anyone address the issue of the destruction of the family. There actually are a couple that I can think of that have recently addressed it and named it as the central problem of all this unrest. One is Life issues. I believe the spokespersons last name is Matt is.

God sent his son, Jesus to be crucified on the cross to atone for the sins of all who would believe in him so that they may have eternal life shared with God. Jesus rose from the dead 3 days later and appeared to his disciples and sent them into the world to proclaim the good news that the kingdom of heaven is available to us through faith in Jesus. He then ascended into heaven where he sits at the right hand of God the father. He is coming back again to get all who believed so they can be with him in his kingdom. Don't take my word for it. Read the Bible and let God show you himself. He has chosen to reveal himself to us through his word. Praise God!

I am reminded of the fact that the man who wrote Romans 13: 4 that authorities do not carry the sword in vain was the same man who was also treated unjustly by said authority on multiple occasions--one of which he asked for a public apology for being whipped because he was a Roman citizen, a card he played more than once. But at the same time, he still had faith in authority when it was used justly for true evildoers

The pastor also says the 4th buffer against evil is the church. The vast majority of churches in these states closed their doors in March at the dictates of the government (and remain closed to this day). They have now ushered in the new age of the 'virtual church.'

Dr MacArthur began his talk quoting Isaiah four times in seven minutes. Each passage spoke of injustice but he ignored it every time. Edited out word of God.
Real justice would be all of us in hell, because we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death. But God demonstrated His love toward us that even while we were sinners, Christ died for us. In this way, He took our sin upon Himself and took our punishment. Rising again, He proved that He has the power to forgive and heal us of our sin. Racism is a sin, and society may be able to curb the outward manifestation of sin, but it isn’t going to be able to get rid it in the deep inner heart. Only forgiveness and deliverance that comes from Jesus can do that.

Don’t want to be political, but what is more unjust: 9 black men killed by cops in all of America in 2019, or 14 homicides in Chicago alone just this past weekend, one of which was a 3-year-old? Dr. MacArthur and Larry Elder were focusing especially on the family, because that is where culture starts. Even before government was created, God established the family.
Giz Shankton I’m confused by the reason you asked, but that is one of the doctrinal points where I part from Dr. MacArthur. I believe that “no one can pluck” a believer from God’s hand, but at the same time a believer can walk away from God of their own free will after having a genuine relationship with Him, and thus not make heaven their home. God is a jealous God and will do all that is necessary to win them back, but if they are dead-set on leaving, He will let them go as He “will not always tarry with a man.” We are “saved by grace through faith,” so if one is not using that faith, the grace cannot be applied. Was there a reason you asked?
Giz Shankton Very well put. I agree with that wholeheartedly. Living in the Bible Belt, I have seen the damning outcome of the Calvinistic view of eternal security from many people who profess to be Christians (and who I totally believe had a real encounter with Christ), but their lifestyles are completely out of line with Christ-like behavior. And yet, they are comfortable in it because they said a prayer of salvation years ago. Even though I wasn’t raised to believe it, I have wrestled with wanting to believe it and dive headlong into sin because so many around here ascribe to it. It definitely allows for the abuse of God’s grace. God definitely is long-suffering, but He will not be mocked.

He's right that man is a sinner. But he really excused the free choices of those out on the street. Yes, even though all are sinners, not all took to the streets to burn and loot, and even to kill. So he should not excuse bad behavior just because all men are sinners. He does raise a good point in that the influence of strong, good institutions needs to be reinstated. But those are influences. Man, in spite of influences acting on him for good or bad, is responsible for what he does.
Romans chapter 1 no one can have excuse at Jesus second coming.

This is the only thing that they can give, there so called light which is darkness only. It's only going to get worse as we enter the days of darkness and anarchy. Pray that God would allow us to be used to rescue some that are still caught up in spiritual darkness.

Pastor MacArthur is 100% correct on ALL his teachings from the Bible...and I am so glad eternal salvation is mine because of Jesus Christ my Savior...and it does not depend on me BUT on what Christ has done,,,,,The true 'reformed Gospel ' of Jesus and His word proved to me that I cannot earn and I cannot lose my salvation...and after hearing MacArthur, Lawson,Sproul, Derek Thomas...Begg and many other teachers & Pastors...( I was truly saved) Thank God ...for all these men !

I felt encouraged with the explanation.. But, then felt very discouraged when an example of police having to make split decisions seemed to suggest that they are always dealing with people who are out of control or deserving of police brutality. Even if the big picture is a result of breakdown of family, morality, government, church - that doesn't negate the reality of racist police killing unarmed black men which is a true, real manifestation of the breakdown. Not simply the result of black men not being raised properly -or- police having to deal with crazed, dangerous out of control minorities. I'm sorry, but this example discouraged me greatly -and- this was my first encounter with either of you gentlemen.

Let's try not to be general but specific. We keep saying the issue is the heart but we do that to override racism. Let's be specific! Injustice injustice that's what is going on. Speak about it! Jesus was specific when he turned the tables in the temple. He saw the issue, spoke about it and did something about it. He wasn't being preachy and spiritual and talk about the heart of man. He did something about it. We believers can do better than that, use the platform God has put for us and call out the bad fruit not the tree.
The absence of fathers is both a cause and condition of the true problem: a lack of fear for God and faith in Jesus. Fathers are called to be spiritual leaders and their absence leaves children without direction. The reason fathers are forsaking their children is becuase they have no fear of the God who made them and the Lord Jesus who rules righteously in heaven.
By the way Cain and Abel came from the same parents and look at what happened

I was sick to my stomach at the message this is referring to and I'm sickened all the more by this cosigning of it. Police officers have admitted that they have to unjustly arrest black men to get their numbers, and they would never do in a white community what they do in a black neighborhood because it wouldn't be acceptable. So black fathers are arrested and killed by police, and we think they are to blame for not being there? Exegesis not Isogesis. I'm disappointed, and I hope that you'll consider ways to that we might unite God's people toward the common enemy that seeks to divide us. I really thought MacArthur was smarter than that but clearly he feels the need to add his "two cents" using God's Word to denounce the "upheaval and chaos" in America right now. How can he not understand what is going on and why George Floyd's death is a bigger problem than people just behaving badly? Was he not along side Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement? I'm just sad to see MacArthur using his ministry to support this right winged conservative agenda. I think less of MacArthur than I ever have before. Furthermore, MacArthur talks about "the heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it". He applies that to the "rioters and protester". Shouldn't that apply to police officers as well?
As a Christian Republican (not a Trump fan), I haven't seen such vitriol. But, I feel it's safe to say that we also haven't had a POTUS that's so mean-spirited, childish, bizarre & foul- mouthed either. At least not publicly either. The tone starts at the top.

I'm no fan of many of Trump's personal traits either (could it be evidence that he isn't right with God and that he might've been more a liberal worldview in a past life?).
