Hi Dr, is there a video already/going to be on tax paid and income of the first year as a foundation dentist and first year as an associate dentist please? (To my understanding your second year as a dentist was the first year as an associate right?)
Hello Dr Arnold, your videos are very enlightening. I'm a dentist looking to move to the UK to practice and so i have to take the licencing exams. Which of the two exams would you recommend and what kind of preparation is key to being successful at the exams.
Hi, I would suggest watching the following video for more insight into the process for foreign trained dentists. ua-cam.com/video/dIlNHGvDpIc/v-deo.html
Thanks Yewande 🙂 The past 4 months I've been completing 200-300 UDA's a month. Higher than what I want at this stage but can't be avoided as I am completing NHS treatment plans that had been started. I am not starting new NHS courses of treatment so hopefully my UDAs should be closer to zero by March!
If i want to do more private work Can i have special interest in dental implant or orthodonotics? Which give me more money? And really i cannt get private work if i live in a city rather than london becuz people is poor there.
As an Overseas Dentist Born in the UK Can I register as an dental hygienist without giving the ORE Exam. I've heard you submit an application to the GDC however I'm not sure whether that is still the process.
The link below will take you to the GDC website, route to registration and you can get the relevant clarity for your situation. All the best! www.egdc-uk.org/Application/RouteToRegistration
Thanks for the video arnold Could you please make videos about overseas dentists who want to come yo uk ? And also salary of specialists ? Thanks for your amazing videos

Great dr I want to ask u what scope of private treatments u provide ? U can do dental implants full mouth rehab ortho treatments as dental associate without limits from GDC?
General dentists can provide implants, orthodontic treatment and full mouth rehabilitations. As long as you are trained, confident and indemnified. My further training has given me the scope to offer orthodontic treatment as an associate.
Specialists at consultant level in the NHS earn a basic salary of between £84,559 and £114,003 per year dependent on years of seniority in the consultant grade.
A self employed therapist would also have to declare taxes. No different to any other self employed individual. The amount of tax paid would depend on their expenses and income.

I pursued a special interest in orthodontics and that is where the majority of private income came from.

Hi, thank you. Are the amounts earned only by you? or you have employees (other dentists) in your company?
I don't own a practice or have employees. Earnings are from my activity at the clinic.
Should Dentistry be pursued in US or UK for starters ?

And how much does a General Dentist earn??
For him to be earning that amount of money, he will have to be seeing 30+ patients a day which will significantly affect his quality of work.
Does a therapist also hav to pay the same tax amount
A self employed therapist would also have to declare taxes. No different to any other self employed individual. The amount of tax paid would depend on their expenses and income.

Do foreign nhs dentist get accomodation/residency just like nhs doctors??
If you work in the hospital as an NHS dentist you may get the option for accommodation. In general practice you don't get that option.
Is your indemnity - the one quotes of £1800 -ish - is that monthly or annually? Thank you 😊- and who is it with, please?
£1,800 was for the year and this was with DDU. However, my indemnity is now more than double that 2 years later.
