The only hate you see for Cody is 10% from the chronically online IWC marks. The other 90% is the normal audience and they all love Cody. He's incredibly over. No one else should've dethroned Roman, Cody has hard shoes to fill and he's doing it great so far, especially considering being a baby face is harder than a heel. Roman is one of the best champions of all time, so it'll be difficult, and even if he doesn't have as good of a reign as Roman, Cody will STILL have a great reign and this early start has been nice. For a change, he wrestles at every PLE, he shows up a lot, he's full time. On top of that, he's got some killer feuds in the future to look forward to. Randy Orton, The Rock, maybe even CM Punk sometime. So much to look forward to. He's an amazing wrestler and a great in ring story teller, which is what you NEED as the top champion. The chase is always better than the actual payoff. People want to root for an underdog. After a 2 year chase from WM38 to WM40, with a huge swerve at WM39, Cody had his moment and finished the story. It is going to get stale if he continues to be the white meat babyface who is now the guy, while still pretending to be a humble underdog. Now they can either go one of two ways. If you want to keep Cody face, this has to be a relatively short title reign ending either at SummerSlam or latest Royal Rumble where he loses to The Rock (no more of this where major titles can ONLY change hand at WrestleMania) who is then challenged by a returning Roman. Or, the more likely scenario, they turn him into a mob boss heel type character who creates his own Legacy stable with other second generation guys like Bron Breaker watching his back, and eventually moves into a feud with Randy Orton.
No one should blame Cody for his run because it's the creative team's job to make the story interesting for the masses. Cody has all the talent to execute it, he just needs a better script

I think Cody had the best 1st time world championship win in the history of pro wrestling. He is pretty boring and dorky but he's the perfect whitemeat babyface for this era of WWE.
This was WWE (Vince)'s fault for keeping Roman champion another year when he it did really nothing for him. If Cody had won last year, there'd be no complaint. This because they made Roman champion so long that some have been disillusioned that Roman is "so dominant" but he was part time from 2023-2024. Hence, Cody, who won another rumble makes people upset since he already lost and his credibility was lowered for round 2.

Never been a fan of him. I'm sure he's a good person or whatever but I've never enjoyed this character. I kind of resented his win since Sami Zayn actually had a year long story with the Bloodline that would have been a satisfying conclusion and a passable transitional champion. "The Story" was just a story...with himself. Roman Reigns did not even factor into it besides being the current champion the first time around. Instead he gets written off at Elimination Chamber and goes after the Usos instead. The first Cody vs. Roman buildup wasn't great and The Rock, who wasn't officially in the title match, carried the second feud. Never "turned on him." Wished it was over before it started lol.

The chase is always better than the actual payoff. People want to root for an underdog. After a 2 year chase from WM38 to WM40, with a huge swerve at WM39, Cody had his moment and finished the story. It is going to get stale if he continues to be the white meat babyface who is now the guy, while still pretending to be a humble underdog. Now they can either go one of two ways. If you want to keep Cody face, this has to be a relatively short title reign ending either at SummerSlam or latest Royal Rumble where he loses to The Rock (no more of this where major titles can ONLY change hand at WrestleMania) who is then challenged by a returning Roman. Or, the more likely scenario, they turn him into a mob boss heel type character who creates his own Legacy stable with other second generation guys like Bron Breaker watching his back, and eventually moves into a feud with Randy Orton.

This was WWE (Vince)'s fault for keeping Roman champion another year when he it did really nothing for him. If Cody had won last year, there'd be no complaint. This because they made Roman champion so long that some have been disillusioned that Roman is "so dominant" but he was part time from 2023-2024. Hence, Cody, who won another rumble makes people upset since he already lost and his credibility was lowered for round 2.

Never been a fan of him. I'm sure he's a good person or whatever but I've never enjoyed this character. I kind of resented his win since Sami Zayn actually had a year long story with the Bloodline that would have been a satisfying conclusion and a passable transitional champion. "The Story" was just a story...with himself. Roman Reigns did not even factor into it besides being the current champion the first time around. Instead he gets written off at Elimination Chamber and goes after the Usos instead. The first Cody vs. Roman buildup wasn't great and The Rock, who wasn't officially in the title match, carried the second feud. Never "turned on him." Wished it was over before it started lol.
The Face/Heel idea is a mirage that has been shackled and pissed on in the IWC. They are the guys who think they're "revolutionary" for coming up with constant brainrot such as "Cody has had a boring title reign" slop. They are the guys who like predicting the next champion 4 seconds after someone wins a belt.
