I’ve been watching you for about 6 months and I’ve seen you catch all the big fish since then but this is my favorite so far because I just started fishing in March of 2020 when I got clean from heroin and it’s been the biggest reason I’ve stayed clean I believe- so thank you for your content I love it and I’d love to fish next to you on a bank or boat one day!!!!
Saturday night I was at my spot, and this 20 yr old kid showed up with a light action rig. He baited up and made some comment about my monster rod, set his little outfit down & walked off. A big cat yanked it in within minutes. I bust out laughing, and the boy got all butt hurt over me laughing. I told him, Next time throw heavy, now go home.
Hi dave my name is jason.i grew up in knoxville but live in ohio.all my dads family is from around knoxville, and i grew up on watts bar, melton hill, douglas lake and of course norris and the Tennessee river.go vols.rocky top baby!!!!
So much good information in this video. Your knowledge of the cat's life cycle, and how the river system works is such a good example for me. Thank you for your effort in the videos.
Enjoyed the video Dave. Its a commitment for me to go find blues and flatheads. So, in the meantime, I pick on the little channel cats. They are good fun on light tackle!
Catfish Dave, ill tell you sir i just started watchin your videos and im liking all of them and ill be subscribing. Im lived in Hixson,tn for 14 years and chattanooga total of 19 years.unfortunatly lost my job after 20 years and u had to take a ca diving job..ur a gentleman and a fishin scholar..i sure do miss fishing i also liked trout fishing Caney river..be well..oh i seen some of the haters that post dumb s*** if you just forget about those people they don't know what you're talk about and they're angry for some reason or jealous.. you give me something to look forward to when I'm on my break for the night. Thx for that..
Great video brother. I have 2 great aunts, an uncle and several cousins who live just outside of Sevierville. We are down that way every summer, normally come down over 4th of July and stay for a week or so. Love being in a cabin, up on the mountain....that's the life. I know the area your fishing, I also have fished that river quite a few times, always catch some good eater size fish. So many great places to fish around that area, the entire state has some of the best fisheries in the US. I've got 11 yrs till I retire, we will be moving that way once that happens. My wife and I both want to retire and enjoy the Tennessee mountains. Someday I'd love to run into the catfish king on the Tennessee River, maybe you can learn me a few things 😁
Always good to fish old spots. Got on some nice ones too. Here in this part of west Tn/west Ky I see a bunch of people who don't know the difference between a female catfish that's full of eggs. This time of year is when all the spawn fisherman hit up all the spots to get the vulnerable female fish and they don't understand that it hurts the population of fish in Tn river in this area. They see me throwing fish back and the first thing they'll say is why am I throwing that fish back. I tell them why and they look at me like I'm crazy lol. I don't know what it's going to take for people to understand the concept. Good video.
I love fishing under bridges. Nice looking channel cats Dave. Im going to have to hit up the pigeon river. Finding patterns and rhythms is where its at
I myself would like to see more of these kind of videos. Like to see more bend in the rods than those surf rods give you. Enjoy seeing more even fighting.
This spot that your fishing looks Identical to one of the spots i fish for Catfish from. I like my spot cause the Rocks give a place to the Gills to hang out so thats where ill get my live bait from and stuff. Goodluck for Whenever you go fishing bro!.
Lol.. Man I thought a big gar or bass decided to eat your float at the 3:00 min mark where you edited the video, it even made me flinch! That water color looks just right. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dave. I remember my grandma taking me fishing when I was real little,,,,like 4 or 5. Also remember fishing for bluegill using bacon... have no idea why bacon but hey it worked. so ..there ya go. Used bacon to catch crawdads too but had trouble getting bacon out of the kitchen. Had to sneak it out. Is that third one a female too or a fat male...ah you just said female. really cool video .. Thanks Dave.
some how I just knew you was spawned under a bridge... so it's back home to where you started is it? Your birth creek looks... uh... good! Thanks for sharing David.. carry on son I am learning a bit about cat-fishing plus just enjoyin' the heck outta myself..
i actually enjoy going out catching channel cats .... and while rare you can catch one up to around 50 lbs ... no blues in my state though so perhaps that's why i like channel cats
I use the same rig when i want to cover a wide area or when there's wood structure on the bottom. To me, seeing those noodle bobbers going down or all over the place when you get a hit makes fishing a little more entertaining. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more vids of you using this type of rig.
bank fishing is what it is..there is either structure at that spot or not..a spot may be a bad place at one time of year but good at another..in large reservoirs I am usually just trying to hit the actual channel drop or ledge..flathead fishing is a whole different ball game..gotta have plenty of structure around for them
I use spinning rods when I fish for catfish in the Chemung river in Elmira NY. What is your take on using spinning rods for catfishing . I will take an answer from.any catfishing angler
this man's a polar bear he won't wade in to cast in this 100 degree water but his more recent videos in February 2019 he wades knee deep to cast he might get water burn
I throw all my catfish back to during the Spawn Especially during the Spawn, its Respectful to the species. When im catching bluegills i dont keep them for bait if there females.
I was just wondering. I don't like to get in trouble! I've been looking for some place public and accessible so I can take my kids bank fishing. I've taken them on the French Broad just below the dam and under 66, but it's not fun for them when they are running water through the dam. I haven't fished the Little Pigeon yet.
Catfish Dave you should have a million subs. You're a great Catfisher man!

Getting kids to ACTUALLY graduate high school instead of calling the 8th grade their senior year would help a lot
LaYiNpip3 you right lol

Still fishing the Guyandotte River here, my dad took a fourty pounder out of it near Baileysville WV.
Good one Dave! Thx.
Who would take the time and watch a fishing video, and actually see nice fish being caught and give a thumbs down !! Don't make any sense...
i actually enjoy going out catching channel cats .... and while rare you can catch one up to around 50 lbs ... no blues in my state though so perhaps that's why i like channel cats

And I fish K-town vicariously...😁
I’m a catfish outlaw🎶
Hey Dave I got a good question what month is the worst to fish for cats
What’s the biggest channel cat you’ve ever caught?
I'm here for his wisdom
I live in Seymour, off Boyd's creek. I know exactly where your at. Where do you park without getting hassled?
do you make your floats and how please?
Can you make a video of how you find bank fishing spots and where to throw?
bank fishing is what it is..there is either structure at that spot or not..a spot may be a bad place at one time of year but good at another..in large reservoirs I am usually just trying to hit the actual channel drop or ledge..flathead fishing is a whole different ball game..gotta have plenty of structure around for them

How do you make them floats? Lol I dont use them but I'd like to try em out....
Try an Elk Hair Caddis #14 in the headwaters .
Lol you got them fast!.. made for a great video
did you ever fish penn. if so where and how did you do
Great video good advice mental log
What do u think your pb channel catfish is??
look's like pilot coffee
Dave, is your Cougar doing your laundry?
What fish do you keep and eat?
What kind of rods are you using
Do you remember the depth of your float ?
I didn't know Harrison Ford can fish 😂
Virginia fisherman how else is Indiana Jones going to eat when he's out in the jungle? 😉🤣
this man's a polar bear he won't wade in to cast in this 100 degree water but his more recent videos in February 2019 he wades knee deep to cast he might get water burn

What spinning reel you have
okuma avenger bait feeder
How deep is the water your fishing.
about 8ft
Are you just west of Pilot? I've seen people fish there but didn't know if it was private property.
not sure about that..ive been going down there for 20 years..ive seen people launch kayaks there too

Adiós Dave!
Take em to Huck Finns’ to keep them in business. I get the all you can eat meal, nothing like channel cat fillets and tartar sauce
Much better video. Straight up where, what, and how to fish. A lot better than a shore angler using a Barbie to make fun of a drifting tool.
stick_man the Barbie video wasn't for makes fun of the drift tool. He made that video to show you don't need that particular drift tool to catch fish.
@ 10:56 "that's what she said"!!
Teach a man to fish and he will eat like a King !!
High way 66 what state?
Watch too short to data skinny catfish!
those perfect eating size
