I have had a conversation with Eddie Vedder while surfing in San Diego 31 years ago. It was during pearl jam's Ten release and he was just trying to breath a little taking a moment to just be a simple human being and surfer. We never talked about music but only about surfing. I helped him fix the fin on his board and drank a beer with him sitting on tailgate of my truck with my two Australian shepherds who Eddie fell in love with👍. Yep I spent about an hour with this fellow surfer and I tell you he's just a regular shy person with a beautiful spirit. I'm grateful for that moment in time, was priceless

I’m a much bigger fan of Pearl Jam than Soundgarden but Chris Cornell had a hauntingly awesome and beautiful voice. Not enough song variety in Soundgarden to properly showcase it though. Thank God Audioslave formed to show how stupid talented Chris Cornell was. Rest In Peace!

It's possible to recognize another human being is aesthetically appealing without that having anything to do with sexuality, you guys. I'm not a lesbian but I can easily recognize when another woman is attractive.
He seems extremely thoughtful, genuine, caring and humble. It's no wonder he's the only one of the big grunge singers to come out alive. Ego, excess and drugs did in the others, unfortunately.
THat's pretty much right. He was always an introvert but he seemed very aware for someone very young so, he saw past all the pretentiousness and ego etc.
i understand your sentiment but the ego part was so unnecessary lmao some say kurt was pretentious but kurt cared about people and cared about issues like racism sexism and all that stuff, as did scott weiland, layne staley, and chris cornell. they were all amazing, genuine, humble and talented people who unfortunately lost their battle with drugs and/or depression. eddie being the only one left does not mean that the others are worse people or something.

Bj Vinci Variety Show Heart doesn’t count. Neither does Jimi Hendrix. His sentiment was a TIME and a place. He was describing a TIME PERIOD, and the place that TIME PERIOD occurred. It’s 1984-1996 Seattle. Soundgarden formed in 1984, and Green River formed in 1985. That was the beginning, but someone who is more of an expert would say: It actually started in 1981 with such-and-such a band. But Heart, who formed in the early to mid 70’s, was definitely NOT part of that TIME AND PLACE AND FEELING. Neither was Hendrix. Hendrix is less associated with Seattle than he is with London. London is where Hendrix became a star.
